Fleur de Narcisse L Artisan Parfumeur for women

At first, this does not smell at all like the narcissus flowers I know, but as it starts to dry down I can see some resemblance. I keep waiting for it to settle into real-life narcissus soliflore mode, delicate and lightly floral, with a sharp pollen note. Instead, there’s a greenish note and a generic floral synthetic note (the hyacinth that’s listed?) and something sort of like immortelle. In the end, it’s a light, sweet floral with hints of spring flowers. The sillage is where it’s at in this scent, since it does actually remind me of narcissus flowers. It lasts about 6 hours on skin. I like it.

This is my absolute favourite of all time. An amazing scent of narcissus plants, hay and sweet tobacco leaves. A pity it fades so quickly. Very expensive, but superb. No longer available.

Finally got my hands on one of these and it just knocked me over! It is now at the top of my substantial list of fine fragrances and I can only hope that by the time I use this bottle Anne Flippo will have been given another superior crop to turn into another special edition!

Hay, honey, supple leather, blonde tobacco (and I've never before found a tobacco I could wear, this one is out of this world gorgeous), narcissus absolut and sublime iris to wrap up this elegant package. Earthy yet ethereal, just thinking about it I have to go apply!

I really like narcissus notes, especially since there is not much on the market, I think it gives a rather earty, vintage touch to the perfumes. This one works really well on me, I have not much left, keeping it for speial occasions :)

This sample is so going to be over within a week. I can't help to feel mischief smelling this. It reminds me of a super herbal tea that I will drink cold. Fruits gone wild, that frolic with the flowers to only ending the day with something crisp. I so want a bottle of this. Going on my wedding anniversary list;)

It's funny how the name "daffodil" connotes to me a sort of country bumpkin, hoi polloi flower, which some tobacco-chewing hick might pick to give to his sweetheart. "Narcissus" conjures up, in contrast, the image of a regal princess adorned in lavish purple velvet robes and covered with jewelry made of gold. Perhaps this is peculiar to me...???

Anyway, L'Artisan Parfumeur FLEUR DE NARCISSE smells a lot like daffodils to me, as it has a marked dirtiness that I'm not accustomed to sniffing in the creations from this house. Even their leathers always seem so gentle (and genteel...), but here I find some seriously dirty daffodils, their roots all covered with soil. This composition also has a slightly sour cast, which definitely makes it seem more complex than a little bunch of freshly picked daffodils, but I'm not sure that I really like what I smell.

In an effort to determine whether I actually like FLEUR DE NARCISSE, I decided to do a side-by-side with Caron NARCISSE NOIR, which I have not worn in a while. The verdict? I guess that I'm just lucky, 'cause I very much prefer the sweet narcissus of the Caron to the dirty daffodils of L'Artisan. (Phew, what a relief!)

The official notes are: narcissus, hay, hyacinth, blond tobacco, iris, blackcurrant bud, moss and leather.
Mimosa, apricot and water notes? I checked at least 8 different sources and nobody listed them. I will keep the sarcasm for myself and focus on the fragrance.

This is not a conventional floral green, ethereal, innocent and summery fragrance. Neither a soliflore. This fragrance is an experience that doesn’t have class or category.

I can associate it with an abstract painting. You can see the beauty from distance as it creates an impression. Up close might feel distorted.

It starts green smoky with light wild flower notes and raw- striking tones of tobacco, hay and hyacinth. It feels very earthy and still sensuous in a unique way. After 30 min it changes to soft, feminine iris- narcissus tones, light powdery (iris powdery and not mimosa) and leathery. Unexpected combination but exquisitely beautiful.

This fragrance is full of contrasts, starting with the composition and ending with the overall feeling. From distance is unique and soft; it makes you think about an effortless French style. From close it is full of raw dazing tones. But be prepared … it will blow you away.

For me it is like good coffee. Can I live without it? Yes. But do I want to? Absolutely, no.

If you can’t afford it you should at least sample it. It is something you will meet only once in a lifetime.

Oooh... this is good. Wow.
So upfront, on first sniff i get a singed, incensy like grass note. Think a campfire that burns the grass and how that smells after you've put it out.

Moving into the first phase: OK, here's the water. Now I"m getting the beach along the Riviera; that slightly salty smell of sun scorched rocks tucked away near some wild flowers.

Middle act. My nose is detecting the narcissus and leather here. The good leather too, like you might smell in a high end car. The narcissus is sweet and earthy, but the heavier notes weigh it down a bit.

Dry down- back to that 'singe' note, this phase crackles on my skin.

Longevity is less than three hours, which is the only boo i give it. It is indeed interesting, but not as a leather chypre, but as a deeper floral. I'm assuming i sampled something made in 2006, which may be why it fades so fast.

Okay...I have the "vintage 2006" limited edition box of this, where Ld'P bought up the entire production of narcissus extract from laboratoires D.R. in Grasse...and you know what? Ain't shit. It's good...but not worth $385 USD which is what I would have paid for it if I wasn't the awful rich people hating person that I am...tee hee...ain't I a stinker?

This is a very interesting scent, that it tooki me a while to love maybe because i was waiting for a precise Narcisse soliflore and this was anything but.The black currant opening open my nose in a whole new experience but what really made me happy was the soft caressing mimosa, the sweet dry air of spring morning, the wet fresh soil of earth. As it dries you leave the gaden and you're transported in a fine tobbaco shop, spoilt for choice! A fantastic scent with a prohibited price for me , that and i say it because i like to be truthful does'nt smell like narcissus to me!
