L'Eau de L'Artisan by L Artisan Parfumeur is a Aromatic Green fragrance for women and men. L'Eau de L'Artisan was launched in 1993. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivia Giacobetti. The fragrance features basil, mint and lemon.
Sometimes I wonder why do we have so many similar fragances in market...
L'Eau de l'Artisan est très bonne, but it's just like Eau de Cologne (Hermés), l'Eau Sauvage (Christian Dior), l'Eau d'Hadrien (Annick Goutal), and Eau du Soir de Sisley. Actually L'Eau d'Artisan is closer to it.
I think that what really makes difference is the sillage.
L'Eau d'Artisan battles Eau Sauvage and Eau d'Hadrien.
And it costs nothing compared to Sisley's.
Good choice!
Perfect for summer

With crisp, almost peppery citrus, lemon verbena and lavender, this is a classic “fresh” cologne. It’s supposed to also contain mint and basil, but they’re so played down that they’re not recognizable as such. Instead, they simply provide nuances for the main notes.
Like other fragrances of its genre, this one is very short-lived. The phase during which there’s some sillage lasts for about 30 minutes but, after that, all that’s left is a green herbal skin scent that fades away in 2-3 hours.
Like any other natural-smelling citrus-herbal cologne, this would be a good scent to wear in situations where one has to be close to people who may hate perfume. The fragrance is barely there, but noticeable as a green, outdoorsy note like a freshly mown lawn in which the lawnmower caught some stragglers from the herb garden as well as the grass. It’s not something I’d go out and buy, but given that I have a sample, I’ll probably use it occasionally.
running out of this bottle but can't buy new one coz it's sooo expensive.
it smells clean and fresh. love to wear it in summer.
The first time I tried this scent I was immediately transported back to my childhood. Memories of summer on the beach with my younger cousin and Ldb sun tanning lotion. I really can’t explain why, but it was a gorgeous feeling and it only happened the very first time. It really hit the back of my brain and evoked so many hidden memories. There’s no sweetness here just clean water, lemon and lovely soothing herbs. Perfekt summer scent. The simplicity, purity, fresh clean spirit knocked me down completely. I simply adore this beautiful gem. Imo it’s a masterpiece. I definitely do believe that this is a must try and that it’s suitable for both women and men for sure. Though I’m not extremely good at picking out special notes I look at this scent as a whole bundle of joy that cheers me up and strengthens me when I need it. As said before here, not very long lasting unfortunately. About 2-3 hours on my skin.It has become one of my absolutely favourites. I can’t live without it!
Very nice and fresh, a lot of lemon! Quite a nice scent, but it fades too quickly. Something I might wear in the middle of summer when it's really really hot.
Here is a question for the reader: have you ever gone out for a nice meal in Paris? If so, you know its like this: you dress up in your finest, you order your meal, you wait a very long time, and then you are served one of the best dishes of your life. Within seven bites it is gone.
This is how a Giacobetti fragrance wears: too delicious and too short lived. I've now sampled enough of Olivia's fragrances to say that she is one of the best noses out there, but for heaven's sake, why isn't anyone giving her a budget to make longer lasting concentrations???
L'eau is plain brilliant. Mint and Basil- yum. How refreshing. makes you want to get up and move, sing, kiss someone, tell a joke. A very uplifting fragrance.
Sigh. My only wish is that Ms. Giacobetti will open her own restaurant someday.
Basil gives this fresh lemonade a little twist. But there is nothing to write home about.Yes, it`s natural...but rather homely, especially for L`Artisan child.
This smells just like Etro's Magot
With the simularities of the strong Lemon note I don't really care for
Aromatic scents very much and these are
one of them. there is an bitter minty
note mixing with the note of Lemon
makes it Nausiaiting This also smells
just like Eau de Guerlien with it's
scent of Mint Toothpaste
No originality just a bland fragrance.
I like this perfume and I can imagine it would smell just delicious on a man. The mint stands out the most but it is softened by the sweet fragrant lemon rind in the background, the combination of these two scents with a touch of basil balances perfectly and stops the perfume smelling too much like food.
As you would expect from L'Artisan fragrances it smells natural and fresh, no nasty cloying overpowering synthetic smells. This will suit someone, man or woman who loves natural scents and wants to smell like sweet fresh herbs.
For me L'eau de L'Artisan smells of the fresh cucumbers which are lying on the freshly cut grass. The cucumbers are green - they are not sweet or similar to those in L'eau par Kenzo. The freshness of this fragrance brings back the summer, love it!
Haha. "agress?" I agree!
I need to add that the perfume does not last. I think I could smell it in 30 min or at the most an hour and then it was gone. So sad.
I really like unisex fragrances, and I have become extremely attached to L'Artisan fragrances, so L'Eau de L'Artisan is a winner for me :) It has a hint of cologne in it, enough to smell masculine, and little enough to still be feminine. The great thing about this one is that it won't smell too feminine on a man, and it wouldn't smell too manly on a girl. Perfectly balanced! I get a lot of citrus (lemon) at first, joined with mint. The dry down is basil and like wheat grass. Great for the summer. Ugh, make my L'Artisan obsession go away!
