Fragrant blackberries from the start, reminiscent of jelly beans sweets, lovely warm memories from childhood, and yet it develops into this delicate, fascinating musky scent, which discretely gives you an elegant halo in the drydown. Perfect for a wintery crispy day.
This is a classic fall/winter scent. It is warm and good for the cool/cold days for the year. It is a delicious fragrance. I also had the Extreme and it was good, but I like the original better.
If you live in NYC, try going to Aedes De Venustas or Barneys NYC.
For once, here’s a perfume that is exactly what its name implies, blackberry and musk. It’s much lighter than I expected. Ripe blackberry fruits have an intensely sweet, syrupy, jammy, musky, almost rotten scent that’s unmistakable and would go well with the heavier, animalic musks. Instead, the blackberry is rendered as blackberry lite, which probably should be described using the common caveat that it includes the flowers and leaves as well as the fruit. The blackberry is accompanied by a strong dose of clean white musk.
Initially, the impression is of a blackberry bush complete with green leaves and not quite ripe fruit that still has a sour tang to it, masked partly by the musk, which is there from the second the vial pops open. As the scent dries down, the musk and tart blackberry notes merge into a harmonious whole, playing up the musky aspect of the blackberry. There’s plenty of sillage, which is identical to the scent up close to the skin. Then about an hour in, the basil starts to emerge, complementing the blackberry scent in an unexpected way.
This is a simple, straightforward perfume that succeeds admirably at what it sets out to do. Longevity is good, 6-8 hours on skin and clothing. I like it, and could see myself dipping into my sample vial occasionally if I have a hankering for white musk with a unique twist.
I am pleasantly surprised by L'Artisan Parfumeur MURE ET MUSC. It may be that I had low expectations, first, from the name and, second, from the category: fruity floral.
This fruity floral has more complexity than most, which I attribute to the oakmoss and basil. It even has a touch of oriental woodiness. I won't say that MURE ET MUSC is a work of perfumic art, but it's pretty nice for a fruity floral. The musk is very clean and the fruits are not too sweet.
Although it's nothing to swoon over, MURE ET MUSC is a pleasant everyday scent. Still, I'm not convinced that it's worth niche $$$. The sillage is relatively low and the staying power so-so...
This reminds me a bit of Musc Alize by Comptoir Sud Pacifique (previously called Fruits Sauvages, I think?) It might go well paired with a simple vanilla (but, then again, doesn't just about everything? LOL!)
Are there any stores that sell or sample this? I haven't bought fragrance or frangrance samples online and I have limited to no funds... and I am afraid to buy online.
Is that the only resource right now? I can save up and wait. But I would LOVE to try this one. Drooling over the jucy berry. :) Yum. I noticed when I looked for it online it seemed very expensive.
Any suggestions on how to sample this one or perfumes in general? Do they sell it at a brick and mortar store? Thanks!
I will give a REAL review when I get my hands on some. :)
So lovely. I bought the EDP after having sampled the EDT. The EDT is actually more long-lasting than the EDP. The blackberry in this is so mystical and enchanting and, though fruity and bright, the musky sensuality of this fragrance means that it could be easily parled into evening. This is a warm and enveloping master-class scent and, though I love it as I do, I have one major complaint. The EDP does not last at all. Within an hour of applying this luxuriant juice I am left desirously sniffing at myself in vain. At the price, the lasting power is frustrating as the smell is unparalleled in perfume and is so delicious (delicious really is the word) and yet evades me so wantonly like a quickly evaporating dream.
I will probably invest in the parfum concentrate as this is simply the most perfect scent I've ever experienced. It is young yet sophisticated, fresh yet classy, sensuous yet refined. It is spring nights and dewy mornings after a midnight soire. It is a paradox of a scent which would make it appropriate for any woman who enjoys the feel of silk and all things hedonistic and aestetic.
I may even buy the cheaper EDT since, as I have said, it seemed to last much longer.
If you want to fall in love with yourself, this is your scent.
To me it's straight musk with the slightest hint of blackberry. Def. not for me. My uncle says it smells like a brothel!
I still have to understand the charme of this hyped scent by L'Artisan. It's not bad or stinky, actually it's clean and fruity, but I don't get crazy over blueberry used in these amounts and white musk is not a fave of mine.
It smells like much much better version of TBS Dewberry.
Clean blackberry musk. Strange combination, but it works. There don't seem to be any other notes, however, so it's a very simple fragrance.
This is perfect for summer because it's very refreshing and citrusy. This is one of my favorite L'Artisan fragrances, and the first one made by L'Artisan. The notes of Lemon and Blackberry work together very well. Unique and good quality. It gets a little soapy on the dry down, which I don't like, but don't mind. It is not your typical generic fruity perfume.
