China starts surprisingly spicy, with the intense smell of a dry black and purest licorice, to change direction into what caraway seeds should be. To my nose what takes place is a strong woody spicy revelation of pure clove. Yes it is, I checked it: the latin name is "Eugenia caryophyllata" and I can't go wrong, as I have it in my cupboard. I keep sniffing the strip I am left with, as I have never met anything like this before, it seems to be a clove based drydown. Lovers of clove, give it a go and try it on skin.
