Had to fight to get a bottle on ebay, mostly because I already own and love L and wanted to see whether this is indeed a better version of L. Well to my nose it is not (thank God, otherwise this would prove a very expensive preference!) They smelled almost the same to me,maybe Miel & Citron has lemon instead of bitter orange? Cannot really find any other differences. L lasts and projects much better, too. Let alone it can be found for really cheap online at the moment! If Miel & Citron wasn't discontinued I would perhaps wear it for spring, keeping L for winter. But discontinued and hard to find as it is I won't really bother buying it again!
All in all, a lovely perfume 99% identical to L de Lolita Lempicka, but much more overrated nowadays due to its 'rare' status. Do not worry if you cannot spend the $$$ to buy it in order to compare it to L, because they are almost the same and definitely equally good!
very similar to Lolita lempica ...... but better
If anyone has this and is willing to sell/swap, PLEASE contact me.
I like this one a lot -- I'm into gourmands. My kids (preschool-age) love it, if that tells you anything. I'm glad I have a big bottle of it, given that it's discontinued. I'd get Miel & Vanille if it weren't also discontinued. Oh well.
Cannot believe they discontinued this...along with the Gentle Honey Water without alcohol.
These were the best and my favorite honey scents. Not sickly, not overpowering, just creamy but zesty and comforting.
To me the cinnamon was very present from the go but you totally lose it during the dry down where you get caramel, patchouli and the most inoffensive honey youve ever sniffed.
I always got compliments on this, i felt motherly, warm, comforting and it made me happy wearing it.
Another one bites the dust :(
To me this is love...
A little linear on its own, lovely when layed.
My favourate combo is to layer Miel & Citron over Laura Mercier Neroli, sexy and alluring with amazing depth.
Take a Halls honey-filled lemon cough drop, remove the menthol, drown it in warm honey and voila! That's my description of Miel and Citron by L'Occitane.
I'm a male and despite it being more on the heavily sweet and syrupy side, I believe men can pull this off quite well considering there's no floral notes in it. This would be good worn alone or layered with certain Jo Malone fragrances. This actually would be a nice addition to the Jo Malone line... agree?
A very warm, inviting fragrance... Very nice!
They still sell this in some department stores in Italy (i've seen it in "COIN") .. Nothing special to me, too much citrus and pachuli and not enough honey. I was expecting something more balanced. I'd buy only if it was cheaper.
i really want to buy another bottle of this but it's no longer available. I'm glad that i found L de Lolita Lempicka, but i love miel & citron more
If you like Miel & Citron Pailletée (Shimmering), be sure to sample this version before buying. The shimmering is a clean, natural, citrus and honey blend. Think bees' wax candles, not honey from the jar.
This "classic" version is a smooth, creamy, caramely citrus blend; sweet and gourmand, but not syrupy thanks to the patchouli and vanilla base.
In my own private paradise, Occitane would add shimmer to the original and exchange the two names. The shimmer is a better match for the mood of the original.
This is NOT discontinued in my country, they still sell it in the store, or perhaps it's their last bottles??? I love this, I have the candle and it smells like childhood and christmas. :)
This is my favorite scent for Christmas and new year only!!! Vanilla, honey and a tiny bit of lemon are getting me into right mood before christmas (only if it´s snowing! That´s obligatory) and New Year. Try to spray it onto your fur collar or fur coat and you will feel like when you was little and expecting a miracle on a christmas day! Very warm and comforting scent!
Update: This has been indeed discontinued now. I do not understand why, cause it was very widely available until this year. I have bought my last bottle about a year ago. Too bad that this one also has an expiery date (YES; TAHT`S TRUE) that is written on the box so beware when you buy it unboxed! Mine half a bottle will expire in 04/2012, but i do not know how it will affect the quality of the fragrance....
So sad...
I agree with Vuelo about the vanilla. I have been wearing Vanile Noir de Mexique and noted the vanilla connection between the two. L'Occitane however starts out with a light and sweet lemon burst with the smooth honey drifting in after a few minutes. It's the warm vanilla scent that stays with me and is divine. It is a beautiful comforting fragrance which is why I choose it most often when I hold student counselling sessions. Lovely.
I find no similarities between this and Lolita lempicka Wich I adore, but I do fint it exactly the same as B&B works sensual amber a copy cat... anyone agrees?
yup, it is very very similar to "L" by lolita lempicka, only it's not that strong, and instead of grapefruit it has lemon.
Doesn;t smell that much like honey, it's more like... sweet vanilla.
it really reminds of "L" from Lolita Lempicka, but is more soft and natural... i loooove it. and I don´t get a headache! from "L" I do!
I tried it once in store, and indeed it reminds me of my beloved L de Lolita Lempicka. However I still prefer Lolita, which I think is more rounded.
This version of the perfume is AWFUL compared to the shimmering addition of this fragrance. The shimmering one smells much more natural and not as sugary synthetic sweet. The shimmering version also smells true to its name and the only note I can easily detect in this perfume is a migrane inducing vanilla. so unfortunate that the shimmering one is limited addition.
So guys if you are looking for a honey perfume this one in my opinion isnt a very good one! the now limited addition shimmering version is fantastic so try it while you can! I emailed this to Locctaine and they told me in the UK and in the U.S the shimmering version should be around about another 3 months.
I suspect it may come back, I have a feeling the shimmering version is more natural and it could have something to do with why it is now limited addition. but I am not sure.
I just received my bottle after reading the reviews, but unfortunately im disappointed with this scent,as i was expecting more..i love sweet, yummy candy vanilla perfumes and thought this will be that kind of scent but it not at all...i just sprayed it and i feel like an old lady ,its definitely not for young girls,im 23 and this is definitely not for me but more for my mum....
my favorite is angel and fantasy by britney spears, does anyone knows anything similar to them?x
ood luck finding this one because I was recently in the L' Occitane store and the sales lady told me they discontinued selling the perfumes with honey because Peta was down their throats because they claim to be an "all natural" product store and were wondering why they weren't concerned about the declining Bee population. They do not carry this anymore.
This is not my favorite one, I prefer the shimmering version from 2009. I feel this one is not balanced nor does it match the body products of the same line. However, everything that this one doesn't do for me the Shimmering version does, so I can't and won't complain. If you smelled it and, like me, was wondering, try the other version and maybe it will work for you.
Once I tested it on skin, but I would like to test it more times. I was totally enchanted by it - at least after the first phase. But later the lemon note gradually disappeared, and only the honey stayed... which started to resemble some kind of incense stick. So there's a smokey quality at the end. At least on my skin.
A very sweet scent. Starts out a bit spicy, but not cinnamon spice, more of a ginger. But that goes away and you are left with a warm, milky sweet. The lasting power is good, at least 4 hours.
I LOVE this perfume! The mixture of the sweet and sour notes are so interesting, and appealing. As someone said below, it reminds me a bit of "L" de Lolita Lempicka. Yummy!
It is raining outside. It does so most of the time where I live. And the sun goes down unexpectedly fast. And it's cold. It is only October, but I needed to dig out my hat and warm gloves hidden on the bottom of the drawer, not to mention the huge black scarf, lying forgotten somewhere in the wardrobe for the last couple of months.
And when I come back home, all I dream of is a cup of tea with lemon and honey. Warm, sweet, but still refreshing senses after a long day. Or a glass of homemade mulled wine (which by the way I think Im gonna make for myself today).
I know this description might not seem to concern the fragrance itself, but... it just seems like a perfect companion on those cold, dark evenings. It is sweet and cozy, yet it does not make me drowsy. Lemon makes the sweet components a bit sharper, the caramel blends wonderfully with vanilla. It makes me feel really good, relaxed, at home.
is it just me, or does it remind anyone else of Aquolina Pink Sugar? A little spicier because of the lemon though.
very natural scent. I love that. It has no chemical or artificial notes that a lot of perfumes tend to posses.
I'm still getting used to it, it may be too sweet for my taste, not sure yet.
I had the opportunity to smell this on vacation. It has the possibility of being a warm, comforting scent...it's just not MY type of comfort.
It smells like warm golden honey with just a bit of lemon zest sprinkled in. It actually reminds me of the of the lemon, tea, and honey that I drink when I'm ill. Overall, it's a pleasant scent, but nothing special in my opinion. I "think" I would have appreciated more patchouli or SOMETHING, just to add a bit more character. BUT, if you like the smell of pure honey with a slight zing...then this one's for you! BTW, It didn't last too long on me either.
It's a really a delicious smell: not too strong in honey neither in lemon. Moreover, it lasts long time. It really became part of me as i love to smell like a sweet candy. A pity, i can't find it anymore in Bali!
I don't know what's wrong with both this and Eau de Miel. They are both nice scents, but I can't wear them or even stand too close to someone wearing them, because they give me instant nausea, headache and make me want to puke. Unbearable. That's a shame since they both smell good.
I love this fragrance and it is one of my all time, year-round favorites. It is the only fragrance I've found that realistically captures the intoxicating fragrance of a real beehive. When I open up the lid of one of my hives and listen to the gentle hum of activity, the smell that rises up and surrounds me is warm, sensual and sweet.
This fragrance behaves like a wave ... or a see-saw.
First sniff - I get honey only.
After a few minutes - only lemon.
After a quarter - honey again.
And so on and so on ... I don't get any other notes.
Cleverly composed :)
And it lasts FOREVER!
although not my cup of tea.
Miel et Citron is my second purchase from L'Occitane and I tried it because of my wonderful experience with their Green tea and Mint scent this summer.
I had been looking for a honey based scent without too much luck in my price range so I gave it a try. Great success.
There is plenty of honey in this one but the abundance of lemon keeps it from becoming heavy and cumbersome. The notes list carmel and cinnamon but these additions are understated and only complement the honey lemon combo. The patchouli is also understated but present in the base, fortunately it is very mild as a too earthy patchouli would take this in a very different and green direction that would spoil the subtle gourmand here.
I also like the handcream version of this scent, not only for its fine fragrance but for its long lasting moisture.
A light, sweet, refreshing gourmand, for fall or winter daytime wear. Uncomplicated, but not boring.
It smells exactly like a lemon cookie. This would be the kind of fragrance I would wear when I would want something subtle and non-offensive. I think people who don't usually tend towards gourmand scents would like this, as it's not cloying. Also good for people who have to be in close proximity to others because of their work.
It's also very soothing.
Great one. Spices have their stamp here. It is multi-layered, but not overly cluttered fragrance. Refreshing and intriguing at the same time. It reminded me L de Lempicka as well, but I would go for Miel & Citron.
what a lovely, gorgeous and enchanting scent! the way that vanilla embraces the honey, the lemmon and the cinnamon is remarkable, very well balanced... the perfect amount of citrus and sweetness! One of my favourite perfumes, clearly. this is the most confortable scent I've ever had... calm, peaceful, smells like Christmas morning to me... I can´t explain the feeling, I feel warm inside and in peace with myself. Close your eyes and you go to that secret place, to that enchanting and happy place that only exists in your mind and in your soul, the place where you can really be yourself and you really feel good about it. That's the feeling I'm getting with this fragrance
I wear this perfume 'till the last drop, night and day, and even to sleep.
Miel & Citron it's one of those special fragrances that can be suitable for every occasion, perfect for every season. It's sweet, warm, beautiful, special.
Nice, but to my nose almost exactly the same as L de Lolita Lempicka. Strange!
I haven't tried L'Occitane en Provence scents, as I'm still struggling to find them, but I think one of their main assets is their natural ingridients, and control of quality in this sort of scense; thats what distinguishes them from the rest and perhaps where the higher price comes from.. But I'm still about to try them
this is the note: I found their prices to be very reasonable..in fact..very reasonable
Very nice. Very sweet smell. Vanilla notes are more dominating here rather than Lemon & Honey.
Light but with a long lasting power, good for individuals who don't like to be overpowered by perfume.
Reminds me of Yves Rocher Vanilla EDT from the Les Plaisirs Nature line. Very similar scent and Yver Rocher products are much cheaper than L'Occitane.
This is one of my favorite fragrances. I don’t like the cloying sweet scents, have headache from them. But the Honey & Lemon is mild, sweet, lightly encompass as a soft, warm pullover. The citrus scent good complete the mild sweetness of vanilla and caramel. This fragrance makes me happy and balanced, so I have in my reticule a small vial from the bottle.
My favourite, it's the most delicious fragrance I've ever worn, so sweet, fresh and sexy.
Ooh, this scent is delish. I usually detest scents that are so sweet they're cloying (I find ANGEL to be heinous.)
But this is just scrumptious. I don't really get any honey or lemon...more like caramel and a very mild patchouli. I suspect the citrus is there, and that's why it balances the sweetness.
I think this might be my new go-to winter perfume.
This is very nice fragrance. Nice mixture of citrus and honey. It is lighter then "Eau de miel"
