The new collection Pivoine Flora is announced for May 2011 as a fragrant tribute to beautiful peony. The collection presents EDP and EDT Pivoine Flora, along with a whole range of perfumed products to make this spring sensational and romantic.
Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette refreshes with citruses in a top. Grapefruit and bergamot in top notes make a luminous announcement to a bouquet of peonies sprinkled with gentle and fragrant rose petals. Base notes add sandalwood and white musk.

This is quite unusual to me, as it smells like a mixture of roses and apple juice (yeah I have such a delicate nose). At first I didn't like it, but it settles on the skin rather nicely and soon dries down to a soft floral musk, still with a hint of apple or something green.
Unlike other reviewers, I find the staying power excellent. The other day I applied it to my wrists at lunchtime; when I woke up the next morning I could still detect a tiny hint of it. Unusual and rather nice, but nothing I would put on my wish list.
This could be the most lady like fragrance I smelled recently. Certainly a combination of the young, fresh, modern, and Victorian.
I wish it could have more sillage and longevity as I'd expect from L'Occitane.
Something important is just missing. If it weren't that something, Pivoine Flora could may well be a hit for me then.
Now unfortunately, I'd have to put this on the casuals shelve.
Cute, boring and pleasant literal floral. Nice for Summer fetes and garden parties at the Church Hall when you want to smell fresh and make no statement.
Fresh, light and flowery, a delicate smell of rose and peony; unfortunately the lasting power is not very good! but perfect for sunny days
Today I couldn't get out of the L'Occitane shop without having this one sprayed on me by the shop assistant :D
It starts out as a maybe nice rose. But now after wearing it 1h or so it's almost greenish and I cannot detect the rose anymore. It's also almost gone. The scent I perceived in the last hour was also more a green one, so it's not my type and also not very "rosy".
(Off topic, weird enough, Pivoine Flora is already on sale here in Melbourne in March while Fragrantica says it’s going to be out in May this year.)
Pivoine Flora starts with a seemingly monotone peony scent, while actually when I smell more analytically, there’s some fresh zesting citrusy smell there which lifts the scent up, and makes it quite ‘airy’ but not in a sheer way. The beginning has a really similar feel to Moschino I Love Love, but Pivoine Flora has a more fresh floral petals hint in it.
After about 10 minutes, the floral smell comes off stronger, and the citrusy smell barely there. The floral smell is quite peony, but more in a solid and sweet form, I find it somewhat lost the airy fresh nature spirit of peony, but not too bad since Pivoine Flora doesn’t have a big sillage, and when you are not directly sniffing yourself, the scent actually smell quite nice, as if it was a sweeter and more girly sister of Stella McCartney’s Stella, and weird(in a nice way tho) enough, it smell kinda like the dry down of Dior Addict 2 to me at this stage, the floral, a little bit soft powdery clean poeny smell with the citrusy hint.
Towards the dry down, Pivoine Flora is gets softer and flora, with a hint of echo-y fresh nearly ‘aquatic’ smell, but not the sports perfume aquatic smell, thank goodness; however I still find the typical watery -smell present in many L’Occitane rose or peony perfumes a tiny little bit synthetic sometimes.
Overall, Pivoine Flora is such a quiet and pretty perfume to wear, a typical L’Occicante perfume, and a nice fresh ‘rose’ perfume alongside with Stella McCatney’s. However, personally I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who’s searching for something special.
