L`Occitane en Provence will thrill us with a new queen rose in their collection of fragrances in May 2009. The rose arrives with accompanying scented body care products.
The fragrance was named Rose Nuit de Mai and it introduces aromas of delicate wild roses and fresh May roses, which, together with violets, black currant and cinnamon, add floral, fresh and spicy rhythm to the fragrance. Along with a warm, comfortable trail of vanilla, sandalwood and cedar, the perfume highlights mysterious, opulent and deep floral-woody balance of aromas.
Besides eau de toilette Rose Nuit de Mai, the assortment includes Rose Nuit de Mai bath in amount of 250 ml, shimmering body care lotion in amount of 250 ml, as well as an intensive version of EDT, named Rose Nuit de Mai Intense Roll On in amount of 10ml edt intense, which can be applied on your pulsing spots, while its thin flacon is shaped like a pen and is simple to carry around in your purse.
The new eau de toilette by the house of L'Occitane en Provence, Rose Nuit de Mai, is available as 75ml edt. The perfumer who created this beautiful edition is Alexis Dadier

I'm the one that not refuse this beautiful scent. It's hard to be consider between rose nuit de mai and eau des 4 reines which one is better. But I have both of them. I'm wearing mine right now !!
I just bought my first bottle tonight of Rose Nuit de Mai. This is on the Last Chance buys so this is going to be discontinued. I couldn't resist the notes in this. The fragrance opens with the fresh and delicate note of wild rose. A bunch of May roses blends with the delicious accord of violet and blackberry, heightened by cinnamon. Lingering woody base notes reveal the captivating scents of sandalwood, cedar and vanilla.
In May in Provence, the young people from the Pays de Forcalquier celebrate the joys of the first harvests. According to tradition, they dance and sing around a tree decorated with rose garlands and colored ribbons. In the whirl of the night, when the scent of flower petals blends with the woody trail of bonfires, the perfume in the air bewitches and seduces...
The Rose Nuit de Mai Eau de Toilette evokes the atmosphere of those May festivities with a floral woody sensuality.
How can any lady resist this fragrance?
Discontinued in my country. I'm very disappointed. I wonder why they took it off. It was one of their best ones.
They're not selling this perfume in my country any more! How!! It's unbelievable! It was so charming. I loved it.
Full-bodied sweetness with the violet and black currants while the sandalwood, cedar and vanilla make it SEXY. Colder weather (late december-early march) gives this fragrance and it's components the boundaries it needs in order to be appealing. It seems to become a little "too" full-bodied in the warmer months and pretty much melts into that "I don't know what I'm smelling but it's giving me a headache" zone.
Rose Nuit de Mai is very whimsical on my skin. At first I smell dewy red roses, then suddenly black berries, followed by dark violets. Ah! I love violets! After the first fifteen minutes on my skin, violets just play peek-a-boo with my nose surrounded by a strange dusty berry accord, which I'm going to think is due to a raw and grounded spice of some type. I’m not sure where the rose petals went at this point, yet the memory of rose is still lingering in the air around me. I know this as I caught a whiff of my own sillage.
I agree with the reviewers who compared this to Anna Sui, it is very much, and just like that one, this one leaves me with a dark night impression, a bit like a romantic gothic tale in black and white. I'm very happy with the edt bottle that I have, and will use it often. Yet I'm curious about the roll-on now, I bet it offers more substance in the base. That's the complexing part of this scent to me, I cannot smell vanilla, tho I do get the smoky sandalwood and cedar during the drydown a bit.
it makes me think of la Dolce vita from Dior, somethiknf citrusy and spicy, the roll on is a better investment cause it is concentrated ( but nothing to do with concentrated oriental oils ), choose this packaging if you like strong perfume, even if it stills average power, but the sprays are so weak ! good scent , nothing special about it, doesnt smell natural roses at all !!!
Rose Nuit de Mai (roll-on, concentrated edt)makes me think about slightly spiced sweet, velvet, dark rose petals in the beginning, which smells so delicate, fragilely beautiful.
Soon after that it gets more depth, and a little bit powdery, this reminds me quite a lot of Anna Sui Anna Sui and luxury rose-scented soap, but Rose Nut de Mai doesn’t have the melancholy aspect and smells more welcoming and less depressed than the purple gothic Anna Sui.
Later on it gets woodier. It smells like sweet woods and is really dark in a kind and nice way. It reminds me a lot of Dolce Vita by Dior, but Rose Nuit de Mai is totally not on your face. This baby borrows the nice sweet rich woody happiness Dolce Vita has, and wrapped it in with a lovely silk ribbon called ‘subtle’.
L'Occitane ROSE NUIT DE MAI (concentrated edt) is a very fruity floral fragrance. The black currant is every bit as important as the rose, which surprises me, at least based on the name.
This composition is quite well-balanced--neither too rosy nor too fruity. I would say that ROSE NUIT DE MAI is something like a cross between YSL PARIS and YSL PARISIENNE, managing to avoid the excesses of each. The rose here does become more dominant than the fruit in the drydown, but still I'd call this a fruity floral rather than a rose perfume.
Although fruity floral is not my favorite category, this composition exudes beauty and grace and smells entirely natural to me, and I recommend it to rose lovers and to fruity floral lovers looking for quality creations.
The warmest and deepest of the three L'Occitane rose scents. Not terribly complex.
Rose Nuit de Mai is a rich, classic, slightly old-fashioned yet quaint rose fragrance.
I find rose mixed with a little spice and black currant. The scent itself conjures up images of beautiful terrace houses from the 1900's, rose-scented potpourri and delightful little antique stores. Rose Nuit de Mai is the past in all its beauty.
The lasting strength is good and when settled on the skin, the scent is quite feminine and elegant.
I recommend.
Another great rose scent from L`Occitane.
I think this is the first perfume in which I could actually smell black currant! Besides him rose and vanilla are other components of this tender floral. Compared to 4 Reines, Nuit is much lighter and less rosier scent. Also this is more winterish and slightly powdery edition.
The roll on flacon looks great and is totally practical. Guess what I`ll be purchasing as Christmas gifts?
I LOVE THIS BRAND I BOUGHT ALL LINE OF THIS FRAGANCE IS VERY ELEGANT AND CLEAN.
I bought a roll-on version, it's a light and calm rose, close to skin, with slightly sweet spice warm nuances, that make it a fragrance for Summer evening.
The captivating sensuality of rich red roses. It's clean and fresh, not a powdery cliche rose smell. Perfect for any age.
den er veldi god lukt beste rose duften jeg har kjent mmmm
I bought the beautiful bottle and I'm glad I did, because it's a nice add to my collection, still I need to wear it more to feel involved. I expecte a much darker/intense rose scent, stronger than the Eau des 4 Reines, but it isn't.
Rose Nuit de Mai is more of a red cold rose with a hint of wood, very pleasant anyway.
Edit 18/10/2009
This fragrance is growing on me! It's much more interesting than it looked like. It gives me a feeling of wellbeing and it's definetely feminine and alluring without being aggressive or too upsetting. I enjoy it in these early times of cold weather, but it's not totally a warm scent for colder season.
