This fall, La Prairie will treat us with a new collection named Life Threads, containing three perfumes Silver, Gold and Platinum, inspired and created in the honor of countless options in women’s lives. Every woman in her lifetime plays many roles and has many opportunities to choose, so, regarding all that, La Prairie launches these three fragrances for different moods and feelings.

Silver is floral – woody fragrance opening with sparkling accords of golden bergamot mixed with green leaf. The heart is floral, composed out of tuberose, Indian jasmine, ylang-ylang, pepper and orange blossom, followed by the base of rear sandalwood, vetiver, solar musk and peppery moss.

The bottle design is unusual and translucent, decorated with filaments of gold, silver or platinum. They will be available in 50 ml bottles. Life Threads Silver was launched in 2009.

Life Threads Silver Fragrance Reviews

Use carefully or else this one will be thick and overwhelming in an awful way. Very fresh white flowers with an aura of Citruses and green notes in topnote. Lots of white flowers with a sugarsweet airy note around it. A scent, in my opinion suits best women 35+. In basenote I can smell a hint of Oakmoss and Sandalwood. A keeper!!

Life Threads Silver attempts to follow in the famous footsteps of Robert Piguet's Fracas, the fragrance industry's answer to a big, creamy tuberose. As much as I want to love both these fragrances, they refuse to work wonders on my skin, leaving me feeling underwhelmed and somewhat cheated.

This fragrance has a lot in common with Fracas, the only discernible difference being its less than heavy approach and fresher nature. The tuberose accord is thick and buttery on the skin. In the initial stages, it makes me think of sunshine and a beautiful, lush garden. For the first twenty minutes or so, Life Threads Silver smells beautiful on me, however the more it develops, the less compatible we become.

The heart introduces a heavy dose of white musk and ylang ylang. It somehow turns the fresh floral opening, bitter and dirty. I'm hoping this is the result of my skin chemistry and not the composition itself.

A hint of its former beauty thankfully remains, however there's something about Life Threads Silver that I find a little repelling. I experienced the same kind of reaction with Fracas. I used to blame the tuberose, but since discovering Versace Blonde and its wonderful interpretation of the flower, I don't know which note should take the blame now.

The vetiver in the drydown threatens to turn Life Threads Silver bitter and dry, however this note is fairly short-lived. The buttery tuberose remains rather persistent right through to the end. Looking back on the composition, I can't say that it was particularly complex. It tends to follow the strict white floral path which was initially established from the very word go.

The longevity and sillage were no issue. Had this been a fragrance that both appealed to me and worked on my skin, I would no doubt be praising it to the high heavens. I loved the bottle, but unfortunately I could not bring myself to love the scent.

If you spray too much it can be overwhelming. Eerily enough it smells like one of New York Bond 9.

LTS is a fragrance that focuses mainly on Tuberose. It's a bit sharp, strong and smells almost identical to Blonde, Versace. If it was a little more sweet, it would have jumped straight away to my wish list.
Top sillage and longevity.

It's impossible to wear Life Threads SILVER without thinking of FRACAS, which is bad news for SILVER, since FRACAS is pretty difficult to beat, if über-feminine tuberose is what you're after. Although there are accompaniments such as neroli and jasmine here, towering tuberose is the focus in SILVER as in FRACAS. I find SILVER tamer and a bit better behaved, or at least less extroverted than the bigger than life, bright and juicy diva tuberose of FRACAS, which draws attention to the wearer by following her around with a blazing spotlight.

Although SILVER may be regarded by some as an inferior copy of FRACAS, I must say that I really did enjoy wearing it this afternoon. There is none of the thick, heavy, wilting tuberose nor the pseudotuberose found in some less noble "tuberose" perfumes. In this composition everything smells fresh and well-measured from start to finish, and the longevity is great, as is true of all of the Life Threads perfumes I've tried. Whether one likes these heavy floral compositions or not, no one can reasonably accuse this house of dilution.

All of that said, I probably will not be adding SILVER to my collection because, well, I have tons of FRACAS!

This fragrance is just plain horrible, its spicy in all the wrong ways, the flowers are fighting each other on my skin and the tuberose is very dry and getting weighed down by the the oakmoss. It's stifling and makes my nose cringe. I had a bad experience trying this. It was a stinker!!!

I was expecting me to like it, but I really find it repulsive. I find it VERY VERY similar to Beyond love by Kilian. For more information read my Beyond love review.

I agree with other reviews here.
This is Fracas without the personality. If you like this, go for Fracas, the definitive tuberose scent.

When I smelled it the first time I disliked it and it didn't change.
I don't know what it is but makes me wanting to escape from it.
I find it incredibly strong and cheap at the same time. My head hurts.

I liked the opening notes whitch to me seemed quite mesmerizing in a 'kinky' way...

But the dry down makes me feel like I'm wearing a very cheep scent from the supermarket!!

It is too much money for what you get in my opinion!

I can imagine that it will attract men, when the nights are hot and when a lot of dancing is going on though...like I said: I find it a bit kinky

An orange blossom/ tuberose scent that falls somewhere in between Fracas and Blonde by Versace. As mentioned by Teddito, this is a modern creation, so it's softer and smoother than its predecessors. It's certainly pretty, and if I were a fan of this type of scent, I'd buy myself a bottle.

Life Threads Silver, as well as the other two from the new launch,is a modern interpretation of well-known classic scents. That is why I find neither of the three Life Threads so unique, but anyway worth giving them a try.
Silver is a modern, smoother and richer Fracas. The green notes at the top are not refreshing at all-it is strong and sweetened bergamot and green leaves. The white flowers come very quickly and stay there to the end-thick butterly tuberose and jasmine and a little bit of paprika just to make the flowers not too plain.
The base however is gorgeous-very mossy and a bit woody, but nothing sharp in it.In a way that you feel wrapped in an angora veil.
I think it'd better suit in the colder months.
