Fame Lady Gaga for women

Not a fan of Lady Gaga..but Ive been going back and forth on this scent due to the reviews,and decided to take the plunge and buy a small sample size. Im so glad I did because this scent is very sexy,which surprises me,due again to the reviews. Good job Lady Gaga.Will be purchasing a full bottle soon.

This is a very sweet and sexy scent. It has great staying power and the black color is fun. I also like the bottle.

Adding to my review:
It dos not last long on my skin, and the projection is medium to weak, but all my friends seems to like it on me.

I li it, but not that much. I was really expecting this innovative fragrance, that would blow my mind or something, and instead i get this normal, common scent. Smells like belladonna with a tiny hint of honey and citrus accords. But mostly like belladonna (which is a flower i don't like smelling). It's not bad, but it's not the one i want to be my signature or something.

Pretty scent. Its powdery-honey-jasmine sweet with a haunting note of nag champa incense. Every once in a while I think I smell belladonna (datura) but I may be forcing this upon myself. Datura has a sharp vanilla note that I don't really get in Fame. To me, the powdery-ness smells more like Heliotrope, but without the licorice note. The black liquid is really cute - like magic disappearing ink. This scent is pretty, wearable, and kinda fun, but not exciting at all. It doesn't smell to me what I imagine "Fame" would feel like. There's no rush of amazement or adrenaline stimulating confidence in this fragrance.

Certainly no semen or blood. If you're interested in smelling repulsive to other human beings, the department store is not the place you ought to be shopping for fragrances. Seriously, do not expect "Secretions Magnifiques" from Coty! This is a company that managed to massacre the lovely musk in the perfectly easy scent of Amazing Grace. If, for whatever reason, you truly want to find a fragrance that smells like hookers, blood, and/or semen, Macy's or Bloomingdales's are not the places to shop.

Fame

I am a massive Lady Gaga fan but i didn't decide to buy Fame until months after it was released. I wanted to wait til all the hype and crazed fans disappeared from the department stores and I wanted to test the fragrance on a peacful day where I could stand un-interrupted with the tester bottle and just get a feel for the scent in the way I like to- with silence. After the first spray Her track "The Edge of Glory" began playing in my head and I was sold. I know a lot of people detest this fragrance either because of Gaga herself, or because they thought the scent should have been or would have been more "interesting" or simply because it's "just another celebrity fragrance". I take the position of..."well this is the fragrance- so I just have to accept it for how it's been made" and I like it a lot. It's bright, a little dark, very fruity and honey intensive. It's almost like a sexy sort of bubblegum that's been spat on and had a few cigarette butts thrown at it. I can see Lady Gaga wearing this fragrance and i can sort of see this as an artistic interpretation of the whole Fame Dynamic in our modern society. Today's Fame culture is on a spiral where it becomes more generic and commercial everyday- we've all been taught to believe that pleasing the masses is the right thing to do- forcing us to reject originality and what made us special in the first place. Fame is far from special, but it's far from bad.

Great fragrance from the Mother Monster. The only disappointment is the lasting power of it. Lasts between 1-6 hours. :)

I am pretty surprised to not see Vanilla here.That'sd how the drydown smells a honeyish/vanilla. It smells very boring, perfect for winter.A classmate of mine owns it and it's pretty delicious i applied it at 11am and it's 7 pm and still there. sillage, arm lenght.

Im a guy I smelled this at the store and my Gf has a sample. Its ok, very acquired scent. Seems like she wanted to make a "Le Male" for women a love/hate fragrance. Try it before blowing a load of $$$

im so annoyed by the so obviously biased reviews for this fragrance on here. their distaste for lady gaga completely clouds any sort of rational judgements they could make about fame. granted its not the eccentric scent people might have expected from her but all in all its a pleasant honey/floral with a strong apricot note and a dash of incense in the dry down. it does not smell cheap whatsoever, however the projection is a bit weak on my skin but it lasts for hours. this celebuscent is among the higher quality ive smelled.

the scent is soft and elegant to me and it makes me love it much!

I have been wanting to post a review of this fragrance for so long, but did not have the nerve or the words in place. This fragrance has a lot of nerve. That I can say for sure. In my opinion, this fragrance is in complete contrast to any notions I may have had during its debut.

This is what I expected:
Chypre. Powder. Leather. Danger! Watch out! Wilted florals such as rose and tuberose in its glorious vulgarity. A dangerous concoction not intended for the young and meek, but for those who have experienced FAME and are suffering for it. A testament to glamour with its fangs exposed. Sexy!

What I experienced:
Fruit. Winter and Autumnal Fruits and honey. Fruit that has been smashed by a hammer and left out in the sweltering heat to sweat and wrinkle- then, slathered with old honey and left to the flies. That is the odor. The mood is just as sad. I imagine a man who is closeting himself as a transvestite. This man is sad and angry, because he feels the world will not accept him. So, he goes to his chamber and puts on his floral muu muu that is two sizes too small, his gray wig with the curly perm, his fishnets that only minimally cover the pelt on his lonely legs, and his high heels from the 1950's that are three sizes too large. Then, he smears red lipstick around his mouth to match his sky blue eyeshadow and false lashes (which are dangling at best). The final touch to his dressing room fantasy....

A spritz or ten of Lady Gaga's Fame.

This fragrance depressed me to no end. It's a sad and withered rodeo clown who has thrown in the towel. There is no sparkle in this fragrance. No subtle nuance to attract romance. It's just sloppy.

I Am not a fan of lady gaga but I'm going to give this an honest review despite the name it's a very floral fragrance for starters with sweet undertones (apricot & honey) it's quite light and airy wouldn't reccomend for night use age despite its colour the bottle is too over thought with that claw a nice plain gold lid would of made this fragrance look expensive but the claw cheapens it along with the scent smells cheap for a woman as as-centric as lady gaga I was expecting stuff out of the ordinary but she played it safe and went unoriginal and gave us a chap smelling floral fragrance 2/10

I am still waiting for my blood-semen perfume. You can't go there announcing one thing and then come with fruity-sweet-floral with weak longevity. I don't mind smelling it on other people but not my cup of tea.

I wrote a review of this a while back and that I since have to renounce! My opinion of Gaga's 'Fame' has changed significantly. I had noted that it was nothing unique and while this is perhaps not completely wrong, none the less 'Fame' still has something about it. I don't know if it's me imagining it but every time I wear it I can get different reactions to my chemistry, sometimes cleaner smelling, sometimes sweeter, and even occasionally sometimes earthier. I have since purchased 'Fame' and am very glad I have it in my collection. The apricot, honeyed (with a little dirtyness), goodness has found its way into my affections. The reason most people (like me) get this one wrong I think is that you expect something very different. Still given a chance it grows on you. It is not. perhaps a masterpiece of perfumery but it has a charming quirkiness about it :) xx

ok so,tested this today.I do love the scent,honey and apricots,very yummy! But,it fades so fast,i sprayed it again an hour ago,maybe,and it's gone! so while I really love the scent,it's a disappointment longevity wise.The sillage is good,nothing that knocks people out,but noticeable.Sadly,once my 100ml bottle is gone,which won't be for a long long time,as I am a perfume junkie,I won't be repurchasing this.

Finally a perfume that matches the celebrity! The bottle is edgy, unique, a little bit unusual (just like her style) and also a first.. unless you've actually come across a perfume where the liquid is black before? Thought not. Always a step ahead of everybody else!
Then what is actually inside the bottle is something very pleasant and sweet – just like her. Every interview of hers I've seen and how she is with her fans she proves to be very down to earth, genuine and sweet. Honey and apricots? So sweet and so nice, is there anyone that doesn't love honey?! Plus there’s also a lot more than just those notes, as if it’s another metaphor where she’s trying to say there’s also a lot more to her too (and we all know she loves her metaphors!).
I think this fragrance has so many dislikes because it simply didn't reach people’s expectations. They expected the outside to match the inside, something dark and unusual. Much like they would probably expect Lady Gaga herself to be as a person. Or they had it stuck in their head this was actually going to smell like blood, sweat and semen.
Anyway this is her first and she chose it to represent her, for once a celebrity fragrance actually makes sense to me. The juice is something special and personally I cannot get enough of it as I’m now onto my second bottle. Definitely the one for compliments!

bought this for my mom and she loves it. it smells like mashed apricot mixed with a light hit of baby powder... it smells very "classy" although it doesn't last very long

Money grab aside...

I've tried this scent a few times while shopping at my locale sephora/ulta, and I've decided it's not bad.

I've noticed a lot of the more recent designer/celebrity scents all have this buttery quality to their sweetness. I don't like that creamy sweet at all, it makes the synthetic vanillin stand out even more for me. Fame is missing that dairy element. The sweetness is sugar in the raw, ok maybe processed beet sugar, but there is no milk in this recipe. Thank goodness!

The flower bouquet is clean and watery. For me that's good because those heavy thick white florals are just too much, suffocating.

Then the incense. Maybe I haven't happened across a celebrity scent that has incense, but Fame is kinda unique in this aspect. Anyways, this incense isn't bad, and there's a teeny tiny touch of spiciness- I guess that's the saffron. I wish the smokey and spicy were amped up... but that'd prolly make it more expensive to produce.

Now... if I could just find a niche perfume along this build, with better quality ingredients, a bit more complex, and better longevity... I think it may be a winner! I might buy a bottle of this GaGa juice if I come across a really good sale. She can hangout with my Britany Spears Midnight Fantasy. They can be BFFs!

Oh, I can't forget to comment on the bottle.
The bottle is what drew me in to try this scent. The marketing works! I love Fame's sci-fi chic bottle with black juice. It is kinda cool lookin'.

I have had to bend and try to understand where people are coming from with this perfume and all the fuss that has surrounded it. I still defend Lady Gaga not that she needs me to defend her but I think she is a nice person with a good heart and probably is sweet and caring with a crazy side to her and very creative.

She has tried to be a female Marylyn Manson but missed the mark a little there but I still think she is cute in her own way. She was very cute when she first came out with her dance songs Poka Face etc but then morphed into this marylyn Manson type character. By the way I like Marylyn Manson he did a great job on the soundtrack to Resident Evil but that is another topic!:)

I think unfortunately fans wanted Lady Gaga's persona in the bottle of perfume and when they got what she truly is which is quite normal and yes she is a female and probably does like honey and sweet smells, when the stage theatrics are stripped away the fans found that boring. I can see their point and I can see what she tried to do but I think she made a mistake she missed what her fans like about her and didn't provide that to them in the perfume she went off on a tangent. She also appears to have tried to go down the Therry Mugler road but as we all know only he can do that successfully, there are many who have tried and failed. All his perfumes love them or hate them have a signature of him in them you can't miss it unfortunately Gaga got the bottle almost there but missed the boat when she decided on the juice. She should have done something strong and outlandish for her first perfume a bit like Rihanna and then eased the fans into this one the same way Rihanna did with Nude and then it might have been accepted a little easier fans would have realised and a light switch would have gone on in their heads "oh so she also has this side to her". I can guarantee had Rihanna released Nude as her first perfume fans would have missed the boat and complained it doesn't suit her image even though she is trying to reveal a different side of herself fans are not interested they want Rihanna in the bottle if they can't have her in person then dam it they want to smell like her no matter what! :)

It would be like fans of Marylyn Manson waiting for him to release an aftershave and when he does it smells like water or cupcakes, you would be thinking WTF? It would get poor reviews even if it is a pleasant smell it isn't what people want or expect. I suppose Lady Gaga attracts the fans she does for a reason if she tries to remove that reason she loses their interest like some musicians try to change their style and it just flops and they lose a lot of fans even if the new music is good and serves their creative needs it doesn't wash with the fans. When you are in the mainstream for the masses as she is you can't really divert too suddenly as the fans just won't budge I have heard many musicians complain of this they want to play new songs they've written but the fans only want the big hits it gets a little old at times.

I like the perfume but the supposed belladonna is what I think makes it so strange but sweet at the same time. I have a few products that have belladonna listed and they too are very sweet but it is a strange kind of sweetness.

Those who say Lady Gaga is just hot air I think need to look a little closer I have seen her do duets and she is actually quite talented and she can play the piano fantastically so I do not think she is just hot air I think she is very experimental and gets bored easily and has to constantly do outlandish things and for some reason has an interest in the whole alien character if she has the balls to do that then so be it whether you like her music or not there is not a lot of artists out there with that theme besides Marylyn Manson not that he has an alien theme but the confronting horror stuff so good luck to her I don't think she is anything like Madonna. Even if she was poking fun at "fame" and being famous trying to show that it is a lot of hot air with not much behind it or it is not what it is cracked up to be by designing her perfume the same way it didn't work and fans didn't think that hard they already designed the perfume for her before she even released it she just didn't realise.

today I was in search of this, or Pink Friday nicki minaj, the wanted in a store in a part of where I live because they are very cheap there, the lowest I found Fame was $ 39.99 and Pink Friday $ 41, I was not desperate so I wanted to wait for a better price, then we went to the Plaza mall, I went to Macy's, and my surprise was, FOUND FAME IN $ 42 GIFT SET! was a grandiose offer as it was half price, brings the scent of 100 ml, 200 ml shower gel 10 ml perfume and a tattoo, buy it without thinking, and also gave me some glasses.

the perfume is good, sweet and somewhat oriental, I like, is something we would use on special occasions like Enchanted Wonderstruck

now will wait to find good deal Pink Friday :D

Marc Jacobs' girls goth cousin. A little fruity, a little floral, juicy and watery with poor strength.

I LOVE how the bottle looks, but the smell is nothing speacial. :)

I tried this perfume and to be honest found it to be quite boring and not very special! It's not bad just a bit "is that it?", not outstanding. After the hype, the advertising and the beautiful bottle I was really expecting something edgy and "out there". The fragrance is soft and sweet and almost the complete opposite to Gaga! Maybe that's what she planned! She is having a laugh right now because she has surprised us all yet again! I felt that it should have been like Madonna's fragrance, brash and brassy! Not sure I would buy it!

Hm, after giving it a bit of thought, I think this perfume is actually a really good representation of Lady Gaga. The presentation (in this case the bottle, marketing/her music videos and fashion sense) is somewhat intense and intimidating - even outrageous (the meat dress, the "it will smell like blood and semen"). The real juice though; the perfume/her music, is actually not really all that scary. Although neither the music nor the perfume are unoriginal, it always does feel somewhat familiar to what we already know.
Lastly, the perfume smells surprisingly grownup with the honey and the florals. Here too, the metaphor can be extended to Lady Gaga herself, who can deal with surprisingly mature and serious content for someone who started her career singing about dancing to a song you don't know the words to, and riding someone's 'disco stick'.

Now, as for the perfume itself, I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. I have no problems with 'mainstream', and I do love the bottle, so I really wish I loved this. As it is, the honey (in combination with a lot of white florals) was somewhat overpowering to me, and the overall scent was too heavy yet too insubstantial. I'm not sure when I would wear this; it isn't warm and comforting enough during the colder seasons, and it would be sticky-tacky and overpowering during the warm seasons.

I might still cave and buy it just for the bottle; I'm weak.

Been reading the reviews of this perfume and I believe the general consensus is that this is a surprisingly quiet, safe scent given the bold, almost intimidating bottle design/promotional campaign and of course, Gaga's larger-than-life persona. I can't say I disagree with them. It certainly doesn't smell GAGA enough to me. But it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. On the first spritz, I found it to be a deep, dark floral scent with a touch of grape-like fruitiness. Pretty lady-like and elegant I would say. It reminded me a lot of Fergie's Outspoken by Avon. So there goes the point for originality. The presentation though is pretty awesome with it's gold colored cap and the black juice and I love the way it sits on my hand so comfortably when I hold it. I feel as mysterious as Lucrezia Borgia and FAME is my bottle of hypnotic poison, LOL! As for fragrance evolvement and longevity, I honestly can't tell at the moment as I just sprayed it on not half an hour ago. The only thing I know for now is that it is still going strong and I get whiffs of it while my hands were moving about so I guess that should be a good sign. Will be back on that in a few hours....

Notwithstanding the generally snobbish/dismissive attitude towards celebrity perfumes, I would highly recommend this especially to parfumistas/gaga fans out there. For all that is underwhelming about this frag this is still pretty nicely made and the presentation is impressive. Just keep an open mind and don't expect too much. You might learn to appreciate it, like I do.


EDIT: On me this lasts for around 5 to 6 hours. Not bad. It mellowed somewhat to a slightly woody floral during the period, but the sweet, grape like fruitiness remained. Sillage grows weaker as the hours passed, but the if somebody is standing close enough to you, I think they can still smell it. So there it is. It's really not that bad so do give it a chance. =)

Fame where to begin this scent is a roll accosted ride but in the good way a lot of people say that this scent was too overhyped and that it's unoriginal but I have to disagree this scent to me is very new and something I have never smelt it before its almost very light and dark smell on me I get a lot of the honey and incense notes which I think pulls the good and evil out of this scent. Plus the bottle and the advertisement are just so GAGA I am a lady gaga fan so that was the first reason I bought this and the amazing bottle. This is the true le masterpiece :) 10/10

it's not sth unique but it's comfortable and safe
a soft floriental, with honey and apricot as dominant notes
don't judge by the juice colour, the perfume itself is not dark in anyway
the bottle is also misleading

elegant and girly..I find it likable..but it's not very outstanding or unique..personally it's just another nice and wearable floral scent with intensive honey notes in it..

When i sprayed it onto my skin, it smelled good. but, After it stays in my skin for hours, I smelled my skin, and i smell nothing but Honey!

Utter disappointment, but then again, it is a celeb scent. No effort meant to be put in the quality when the vision was quantity/people will buy this because its Gaga. Grape Cool Aid Absolue.

I have this in a mini sample, and must say I was underwhlemed the first few times I tried this scent. During winter time when my skin is drier I really only got an old lady baby powder scent. I tried this scent again today, and was surprised that it opens up much more to a pleasant and grown up scent. I still find the scent overall too mature for my liking, but the Apricot- Honey opening is very pleasant. It turns toward a mellow jasmine scent that lasts a few hours. I wouldnt purchase a full sized, but I am willing to wear this scent during the beginning of spring. Overall a great scent for gardening and planting bulbs.

I think this fragrance is match with a woman that the age is 28-over. This is an evening fragrance, because, i think this is a sweet heavy floral. i love the design of the bottle, the cap, and the color of the liquid. I love the way Lady Gaga describe this fragrance in unique sentences.

Checked this out at an airport once. The bottle is beautiful, and had a great feel when you held it. The black colour thing is cool too. Unfortunately, sweet, jasmine, incense-y kinda smell. Doesn't smell bad per se, but just doesn't live up to its hype. Doesn't stand out smell-wise.

Finally I put my hands on my bottle .. the bottle is totally different & new to my eyes .. mysterious & beautiful ..

The scent: I can't say it's bad, but actually noting worthy .. it smells as a weaker version of those Victoria's Secret scents specially (Incredible by victoria's secret) .. starts juicy as apricot juice sweet/warm & NOT sweet/fresh .. the dry down is jasmine & honey (reminds me of elie saab but of corse too much weaker) & it stays 2 hours on my skin ..

Hope next time lady gaga will concentrate her perfume ten times more !

The bottle is nice but the scent isn't.

The thing about this fragrance is it had the chance to be something different,bold and daring and all we got was a ''grape/ fruity floral scent that has been done over and over and over again. It doesn't live up to the hype it was ment to be. I find it to be a grape version of radiance by britney spears. I tried a little on my wrist and to my suprise it faded very quickly about an hour or so later. If you want a good celeb scent go with, jlo jessica simpson or britney speas because they seem to have it right. Not a gaga hate either I love what she represents and stands up for just wish the fragrance could have shined like the star it was ment to be.

Review from a Lady Gaga's hater : This perfume, even if a little bit classic, is absolutly beautiful. Not so original, not really elaborate, but smells really good.

Am I the only one who enjoyed it? I liked the scent. It surprised me because I would expect it to be a dark, musky scent coming from Gaga. But it was the opposite.

disappointed was expecting something strong,deep and long lasting.Convinient that the lid looks like the top of an arcade grabber machine as by its scent you would think thats where it came from!!

I wanted to try Ga-Ga's Fame for quite some time. The notes seemed promising and I thought the bottle design and black liquid inside was a good idea. However, after smelling it and later owning it, I was very disappointed. Lady Ga-Ga has a very eccentric and over-the-top personality. I think the bottle design was befitting of her personality, but the perfume itself bares no resmeblance to her stage persona. Fame is categorized as an Oriental Floral fragrance, but it smells more fruity-floral than anything. I wasn't expecting such a fruity fragrance to come from Ga-Ga. I know Fame was structured to highlight different aspects of each note at the same time, but I don't smell all the notes represented in this fragrance. On me it's not too sweet but I certainly don't smell all the notes listed either. I only get this pleasant floral fruity concoction. It does smell good but to me it doesn't seem to be a fragrance befitting of Lady Ga-Ga herself. It's not daring! It's not heady! It's not sexy! I know Ga-Ga never said it would be all these things but seeing that gorgeous bottle housing that mysterious black liquid.....I have to admit I was a bit let-down by the actual fragrance. I can't seem to name any floral fruity fragrances like it, therefore it does seem to be original. However, it's nothing more than a pleasant floral/fruity fragrance. I can't believe Ga-Ga actually put her name on this scent. It seems like more thought and construction was placed on the bottle design and black liquid than the perfume itself. I admire Lady Ga-Ga for her strange personality and commanding stage presence, but Fame is definitely a bottle of juice I can do without. There's nothing earth-shattering, over-the-top, unforgettable or ground-breaking about it. Fame is simply ordinary. There's nothing wrong with being ordinary, but ordinary and Ga-Ga don't belong in the same universe. I wanted to love Fame, but our affair just wasn't meant to be. I don't get why people hate this. And they say it smells "Sickly sweet", this fragrance is not really sweet at all. The only time it is, is when you smell it after it's dried down for a couple hours. And when it does it's not even that sweet!I love this perfume and I love Gaga. Loved her since 08.

This is fabulous but not for everyday use.

I thought it would smell like Alien. Smells like a dainty chocolate/grape scent to me. Odd...It has no grape or chocolate notes

I bought this one today and I have to say that I love it.
It kind of reminds me of "Boudoir" by Vivienne Westwood, but less boozy and more on the aniseed-licorice side like some of Lolita Lempicka's perfumes.
I truly like it.
It is sweet, with a kind of fairy-tale elegance to it, not too strong and very wearable.
The bottle is a cutie too.

I am honestly not super familiar with Lady Gaga, but I do not live in a cave so I am aware she is ZANY and channels Madonna's Catholic fixation and looks for makeup tips from Grace Jones (Oh how I love Ms. Jones)
First off this black juice does stain certain fabrics. Some got on my book tote and there is a grey blur there now.
I smell honey and apricot and some incense. Incense is balmy, not churchy. It's pleasant, but the honey is too much sweetness and too little beeswax for me. It's not challenging or zany, but there is nothing wrong with it. Some people will probably love this fragrance because it's a bit out of the box, but not too much. I go between extremes of fresh & funky so this straddles the line too much for my taste.

Okay this was good, but not one of my favorites. For me, I was expecting Gaga's scent to much most musky, dark and deep, but this however was surprisingly light and fruity, the apricot and honey were just too overpowering for my particular tastes, but that's really just a personal thing.

Overall it's not bad, it's just very light, it didn't last long on me at all, I felt it was gone after only an hour or so. I wont be using it often at all.

In short, this is a lovely dark floral perfume that sticks close to your skin like a warm purple halo. By "dark" I am referring not just to the bottle, which is lovely, but to its motions towards a heavier, more cloying perfume. It teeters on this border of being overwhelmingly rich but is ultimately balanced out by its simplicity and minimal sillage. I smell notes of violet even though it's not listed on the tree, so if you don't like violets, avoid Fame. As others have mentioned, it is NOT what you would expect from Gaga. It is actually quite unobtrusive and stately in small doses, unfolding through at least three different stages of scent on my skin, starting with bright honey, travelling through a fruity violet candy and ending with dusky sweetness. I find it pleasant and comforting but bottom line is it's nothing amazing... I'll enjoy this bottle but won't purchase again.

A gorgeous anise/licorice scent. It is a refined and improved version of Ellen by Tracy Ellen. Same mellow spiciness as Cher Uninhibited.

Having seen all of the hullabaloo surrounding the launch of Lady Gaga's perfume FAME, I decided to pick up a sample at Sephora the last time I was there. I cannot say that I have any real interest in Lady Gaga, as I have no idea what she does. Is she a singer? A performer? A sort-of twenty-first-century Madonna (the material girl) follow-up or wannabe? I've seen some pictures of her looking rather like David Bowie back in his Ziggy Stardust days, but aside from that I've not a clue what she has done to garner such fame.

Upon applying FAME, I was sure that I had smelled this scent somewhere before. Naturally I began racking my brain for the celebrity scent which might be the closest neighbor. So many of them smell so similar, but I felt that there really was some overlap of this composition with something already in circulation. It certainly does not smell anything like any non-celebrity perfume, but could it be that FAME is close to something by Britney Spears, perhaps? I recall that the opening of CURIOUS was quite grape Koolaid-like, although the drydown was a bit better, but without the patchouli I could not really say that FAME was very much like CURIOUS.

Suddenly it dawned on me: Lady Gaga FAME smells EXACTLY like grape Laffy Taffy, which is a purple pastel-colored, artificially flavored bar of somewhat creamy taffy which I sometimes ate after school back when I was in junior high--there was a Tenneco (similar to 7-11) on my route home. The texture was similar to Beich's Bananas, but instead of featuring artificial banana flavor, Laffy Taffy featured (and may still today--I don't know whether it still exists or was pulled by the FDA) artificial grape flavor in a hold-on-to-your fillings taffy base.

No body fluids, no mystery, no intrigue. This whole production is pretty much a façade in front of a vast expanse of air. Perhaps that is what Lady Gaga is, too, in which case I have to say that FAME would be a fitting tribute after all. As far as celebrity perfumes go, this one can hold its own with the best of them, but the best of them are pretty bad...

Lady Gaga's perfume eagerly waiting like most girls. Not because I'm a big fan of Gaga - just out of curiosity. Smell something billed as a novel, the phenomenon of perfume, a resident of extravagance and "like" Lady Gaga postponed to experience the scent of sperm and blood.

Perfume should be pink and not black because it smells adequately to pink. I was struck by a similarity to the well-known I guess seductive WS. Moving on is similar to the montblanc individuelle and little to from amour-yves rocher (final phase).
Fame is a delicate, fruity-floral, romantic, safe, and I personally like the smell.
Interesting and handy bottle and the color of perfume unique.
Persistence of the sky better than guess - 10 hours bravely holds! - For EDP signed by a super celebrity (guess max 3 - EDT). As you can see life after reviews section fame is different - it depends on the person and you have to test yourself.
Far from the Lady Gaga (or maybe not?) And ideas that each of us had about the smell. In conclusion - I like, but the spring period I have other favorites. Besides I have almost the entire bottle, and probably guess how it ends I look for something new.

I found this perfume quite bold and loved the presentation (with the gold cap doubling as a stand, as well as the black liquid) The fragrance was quite strange to me in that i felt a resemblance to root beer albeit mixed with floral and apricot scents. I didn't try it on as it's not my style but recommended it to my friend whose quirky and artistic personality seems just right for Fame.

First off, bottle is awesome. You can use the cap as a stand! Looks great in my collection. As for the scent, I wont buy it again. I do like it though. But to be honest I really got it mostly for the cool bottle. Its a mature scent, and I prefer fruity scents, so this one stands out in my collection. Oh and by the way the soap smells like a cologne, so skip that of give it to a man in your life. =)

I recently purchased Lady Gaga's Fame . However I found out that the bottles in Sephora says Made In Spain . But my 30ml bottle says Made In USA . Is mine fake ?

Despite I don't like Lady Gaga, I have to say that there is an awesome fresh apricot note in this fragrance, which is a leading. But as I don't like her I wouldn't buy it.

Also I have to say that this fragrance is nice enough. And nothing outrageous or creepy. But I don't think that it's a good idea to smell belladonna. I hope that it's only chemistry, but not the real flower:)

Lady Gaga's Fame is sexy and warm, and I absolutely love the smell of it on my skin. It makes me feel delicious and attractive. I would consider this a floral, but more on the musky side rather than the light side. It also has a hint of sweetness, but not so much that it's overpowering or headache inducing. Overall, it gives off a warm smell and effect that I really love. Unfortunately, it does not last a long time, and the sillage is poor as well. It only lasts about half an hour to an hour before I have to press my nose against my wrist just to find the scent. I'm really disappointed about this because if the lasting time and sillage weren't so poor, this would definitely be one of my favourites. So, even though I love the smell, the lasting time doesn't cut it for me, and unfortunately, I will not be repurchasing.

I think this is a sexy, attractive, and daring. I would NOT categorize this with a Britney or a Jessica Simpson type scent. Strangely, something in it reminds me of the original Victoria's Secret Victoria from the late 1980s. Fame is lovely, pretty...and there's an undercurrent of something disturbing. (Just as a perfume should be!)I don't know about Madonna ever being in the dust, until she damn well wants to be, and I wouldn't doubt if she herself wears and enjoys Gaga's Fame. I love honey. It can be a strange note, certainly, but it's unmistakable. I think Fame is darker than it is sweet, and I think it has a vintage seduction quality in its powder-incense notes that connotes femininity and even danger (think Shalimar, Opium, Fracas). Whether you're a fan of Lady Gaga or not (I've big a big fan for years) you know who she is. She's made an impression on you, and she won't be forgotten. This fragrance is like that as well. I agree with le mouchoir de monsieur that this is "groundbreaking". If you're paranoid that there are poisonous ingredients in this fragrance, (not to mention "human blood" and Gaga's "DNA" - so does the Red Cross donate to Coty Prestige for fragrance ingredients now?), why don't you buy a huge bottle of Fame and saturate your skin with it to see if something happens? If it's poison, just think of the lawsuit you can file! Nothing gets past you! And to think Richard Herprin, Honorine Blanc,Nathalie Lorson,Givaudan,Coty Prestige, and the hundreds of others involved in this formulation and launch never suspected their covert human genome experiments (not to mention their phenomenonable progress with preservatives)would be discovered. (Btw - belladonna is a medicine, and one of its most widespread uses is to treat symptoms of Parkinson's. It's also used for common digestive disorders.)

Lots of money spent on the launch campaign for such a mediocre scent. My 8 year old daughter even commented "gross, another berry scent". I would never use this scent. There are too many berry scents on the market today & this ones no better than any others. All of that hype for absolutely nothing! When a child doesn't even like it you know it's bad. And this one is! Berries, that's the only note that you can smell. Shameful to outrageously price something so mediocre. I really thought she would do better than this especially with all the marketing put out there on this fragrance. I anticipated way, way more. Doesn't matter what color it is or sprays, it still doesn't smell good.

Plenty of fuss for anything special or original. It's just next sweet, chemically floral and cheap smelling scent.

The fragrance is actually a lot lighter and warmer than I anticipated, so good for casual and everyday wear. The staying power is not great. It does seem to fade very quickly. Overall, while I do like the scent, I'm not sure I would buy a bottle of this as it just doesn't wow me at all.

I wanted something bold, brash and bitchy with a hint of sex. Something that screamed "I am awesome and to hell with you if you think otherwise".
Instead, I got a completely tame, generic fruity sweet you-could-smell-this-anywhere result.
Sillage and longevity are poor too.

Its actually a really beautiful fragrance and its a lot like Mother Monster herself.
She puts out a dark scary persona yet underneath it all she is a beauty with a huge heart.
I would gladly buy this scent, as it evolves really nicely on My skin, it starts of with a grape, berry, peach mix and starts to bloom with a rose note, and the incense then kicks in with a resinous musky quality. It got me a few compliments.

I love this perfume.It smells gorgeous on me.The bottle design could use some work.The bottle itself is nice but the claw top is tacky.For such a beautiful fragrance inside it deserved an artistic top that would have reflected her artistic personality much better than a plastic gold claw.

So when I heard that she launched this perfume I thought... "wow this bottle is soooo her, I wonder how does it smells. Will it smells strange? Will it smells just exactly like how we potray her?" and when I smell it it smells nothing like Lady Gaga's image. I was really curious about this one. I except something strange, almost not wearable from Lady Gaga. At first I like to say I think the concept of the bottle is cool; the black liquid caught my attention immediately. But I was so astonished; I smell tons of apricot. It stays very flat & linear and it kinda reminds me a bit of the opening spray of Tresor. In the dry down it became a bit more spicy, but it wasn't what I hoped for. I'm so disappointed, I can't even like it.

Here's what I think: great marketing, great bottle design, great the idea of the dark liquid BUT...man, does Lady Ga Ga really think that a generic flower bouquet would make a ground breaking fragrance?

That's TOTALLY BORING and the personality of the perfume doesn't reflect her style nor the great bottle shape.

I sprayed it ine the store on my coat I was so excited to finally try Fame as for a long time it was on my wish list. Opening was very generic i would put it in line with Circus Fantasy and Purrr. Hello sweet apricoat. I don't get anything balmy out of it only honey sweet fruits. I would say on clothes it's long lasting - after 3 days it's still there, of course very different and shy but present. Out of my want list.

I was anticipating something more exciting, but this smelled like a super powdery generic old lady perfume, completely at odds with the marketing campaign, the bottle design, and Lady Gaga herself. Disappointing, had to return it.

This outrageous perfume is curious and astounding to me. I was wondering is this perfume would be cloudy, alluring, shy or down right hardcore sexy, but GaGa had a lot more in store inside that magic black bottle of hers.

Upon testing it the second time after a few months apart, I noticed this: Floral fruity at the beginning, then it slowly becomes tangy and sweet. Sweeter and sweeter, more delectable, like a savory baked cupcake with frosting and caramel or more! Sexy to the last sniff. Lasts hours and just keeps transforming.

The scent was unbelievable and hard to describe for me, it has so many faces, so many emotions and so creativity.

Its a great scent, but I expected something more wild or aggressive.

I expected sth really strange even non-wearable coming out of this bottle but I would say it's a fruity-juicy perfume & long lasting-about 9 hrs after and still had the last notes on my wrist- but it's kind of too strong and sweet for me at least for the first hour till the sillage becomes softer.I liked the fact that somehow glittered on my hand.

This fragrance isn't as bad as others make it seem. However, its just not that good.

There is something nice about it, kinda fruity. My sister really likes it. So I tried to test it out to give it a review....but something strange happens: Sometimes -- I smell NOTHING. Seriously -- I spray it on.. and I get NOTHING. It's like -- poof -- vanishing black liquid and vanishing fragrance!

I tried it again. I know there is nothing wrong with my olfactory nerves and senses, certainly not a case of anosmia.

Paper -- I smell a bit fruity light sweet, and then I smell again, I detect just the paper...nothing there.

Skin -- SAME THING! I smell the fruitiness slightly sweet, then sometimes nothing, then it sort of hits me a slight waft of scent...and I'm thinking a ha! there she is! But a bit later - nothing there!

Being a fan of Gaga I expected more than this. It's quite sweet yet dull and I totally agree with comments that more effort was put into the design than the contents. The design of the bottle is eye catching but one of the selling points was the black fluid that turned transparent on your skin. Sorry, I have other perfumes of different colours that do the same so thats nothing new. I think what went wrong is that people expect more of a night scent from Gaga, something a bit deeper with a bit more staying power (of this there is very little) Saying that, it is pleasant and suitable for everyday wear

At first I really loved this scent, I was pleasantly surprised by how wearable it was. Warm and sweet, it was kind of my happy perfume. But the more I use it, the more I start to dislike it. Right now the scent seems just cheap and reminds me of candy necklaces. I'm not even sure if I'll ever finish my 1 oz bottle :/

i'm not a fan of gaga and i would have really had to love this to even consider buying it. that being said, after trying a sample of this i don't care for it. on my skin it was a very watery grape koolaide with an odd sharp twang. it didn't last long..maybe less than an hour and i couldn't smell it anymore. not for me.

I tested this a while back, I'm gonna be completely honest from my personal opinion, I think Gaga was concentrating more on the packaging then she was on the scent itself! this scent is ok I suppose but its just your average "play it safe" celebrity scent, nothing special >.> the only thing unique and different is the black liquid and cool bottle and I can honestly say Hillary Duff and Jessica Simpson came up with a more unique scent since it was the fragrance that was concentrated on.(Im talking about "with Love" and "fancy Nights") but remember, this is only my opinion!

Been wearing FAME for the past two months and I just love it! To me it smells like dried apricot dipped in honey, with grape Kool-aid mix, insense & something i cant quite describe maybe its the 'belladona' note. It doesnt have alot of staying power, but If you layer it with the lotion you'll be set. I also feel like its a unisex fragrance, it's just very clean & universal. Dont be afraid to try it out.
(P.S. the lotion is very different, the stars of the show are apricot & honey and a bit of insence no florals. Very shampoo-y and clean.)

Since I'm new to the perfume world, I wasn't aware of any hype around Fame. To me, it's more floral and leans towards a more conventional scent. When I first smelled it in the perfume store, I was surprised at how pretty it smelled and that it didn't give me a headache (since I'm sensitive to that). I was afraid it would smell like beer or sweat since it's what I always imagine when I see Lady Gaga or her MVs. I got it free from buying another scent because I thought it's good enough to give it a chance. Guess it really doesn't sell well, given they're using this sales tactic.

It changed ever so slightly on my skin into a sweeter version. I must admit that I prefer using it in just one spritz. More than that and I could imagine the "expensive hooker" taking over. I prefer it over other scents I've tried so far because it smells the same on paper and on my skin. The top and heart notes do not disengage as much as in other perfumes I've tried. I'm also one of the few who can have the scent remain on my skin even after I shower.

Ironically, fame is a "what you see (smell) is what you get" type of perfume. I guess the characteristic that turns others off is the same one that made me like it. As my friend commented, Fame is a "common" smell. But it's well-made, I think. It makes me smell "pretty", in a cookie-cutter way, which isn't so bad sometimes. I'd wear this to a date or a special occasion, when I want to project a womanly confidence without grabbing all the attention. Might be too sweet for close contact commute, e.g., train, bus, subway.

The scent itself is not bad. However, it just cannot live up to the hype that has been created around it, and I suppose that's where the many dislikes stem from. What has been claimed about this fragrance is out of all proportion to what it actually smells like.

"Fame", to me, is anything, anything but extraordinary. We were told it would smell like blood and sperm - not that anyone in their right mind would want to smell like that (sorry if you do) - or like an expensive hooker. Anyway, we were expecting something bold and loud. Out comes this little wallflower. It's almost coward, the way it tries to please the masses.

Sweet. Apricot with "a drop of honey". That's more than a drop, actually. This is an innocent, safe scent, in my humble opinion. The only "dark" thing about it is the fluid.

Speaking of the fluid, we were taken for a fool once more. "Fame" absolutely does NOT become invisible "once airborn". Maybe it's just me, but the fluid has a grayish color on my skin which takes a moment to disappear. I would recommend you to be very careful when spraying this near your clothes. You never know, the resulting stain might have a much greater "lasting power" than the perfume itself.

As for the non-existent "hierarchy" - quite obviously not the truth, again. I own perfumes that do not change half as much as "Fame" does during the day, and nobody claimed they had no pyramid of notes.

This is tiring. I'll stop. I highly doubt this is the smell of FAME. Next time, I suggest Gaga should invest more time in creating a memorable scent, not just an eye-catching, gimmicky bottle. The fluid might be one of a kind so far, the scent is one of many. Ordinary.

JUST SO YOU KNOW: I bought this purely for the bottle. It's gorgeous. It was 22.50 for the rollerball, 30ml and tattoo (Alas I still have a review below, I do not mind this fragrance)
While everybody seems to think about this fragrance as an opposite to Gaga, I think Fame and Lady Gaga are one and the same. The bottle and black liquid represents Gaga's external self; her avant-garde fashion and crazy marketing stunts. The scent of the juice itself equals her music; a bit different from the rest of the mass-produced bubblegum pop, but still enjoyed by many. That's not to say it's a bad thing.
Moving onto the breakdown. Giving Fame a second try today, I could say I quite like it. Initial spray is candy-sweet honey/apricot before the dry down to a floral, incense drip-drop of apricot scent. It's light enough for daytime but can easily transition into night. Lasting power is average, 3-4 hours. Fall/winter scent. Fin!

This is my signature scent. Everyone who knows me, knows I wear this all the time. it's definitely a nighttime scent, but it works good for seducing during the daytime too. I'm a guy and this stuff works. I would probably only recommend it for guys if they're bisexual/gay, because girls do notice it, but they just notice it. guys will NOTICE it. on me it smells powdery with hints of honey and orchids. the incense and belladonna make their way into the equation in the dry down. also layers well with floral and citrus fragrances that aren't that powerful to make it more feminine. Lasts about two to four hours depending on your activities. can be smelled immediately once you enter the room.

10/10 for me.

Celebrities are surrounded by so much craziness these days that I think they use perfumes as another way to reveal themselves to their fans and it is aimed at fans not people who don't like them and yes it is to make money as well we all do things to make money so what? This is not a rubbish perfume which should go into discount bins as some have said they just don't like it well so what you are not Lady Gaga and she is not you, you clearly have different taste to her in perfume and you are probably a different person to her it doesn't mean the perfume is rubbish or she has not achieved anything she has achieved what she wanted to and that is what matters.

She has not mislead you in her advertising as this perfume bottle and execution is different to many designer ones and celebrity ones even if you don't like the black liquid there are only a few designers who have used it. The push pull technology only a few have used it, what this comes down to is people confusing their assumptions of who Lady Gaga is based on no first hand knowledge of her as a person and what they have assumed she likes in a perfume it is no surprise that she is not going to jump out in a meat suit from your bottle when you spray it she is a person with many facets just like you and I. Just because it doesn't smell like what you normally like in a perfume doesn't mean anything you are different to her, it doesn't mean she has failed at her first perfume attempt. You all talk about perfume being a very personal thing well hello? Why when she designs one suddenly she is being a try hard and wripping you off it is your imagination that has disappointed you not her. This is the same for most celebrity fragrances you have to approach them differently than what you would with a designer one there you expect to get a certain style of perfume and you will be disappointed if it doesn't match up to your expectations but with a celebrity perfume I don't think you can approach them the same way because you cannot be sure what you are going to get as you do not know the person completely so you cannot be sure what to expect until you test it for yourself.

Yes, it's girly, fruity, but has a lot more for those who know what to look for.
The bottle looks like a Belladonna Atropa Deadly nightshade berry. And the smell is very fruity berry like. Used for giving women the dreamy "Doll Eyes" look. I'm a dude, and this has really grown on me.
Orchid doesn't have a strong unique smell, but is rather Geranium like. (fruity like "Exclamation"? yes.) It's more common than you realize. The saffron makes a delicious savory spice on my skin once it settles. To me that comes off so insidious, and dark.
With the Belladonna, This is rather poetic to me.

I cringed as the SA at Nordstrom's added this to my sample bag. I try to keep an open mind about all perfumes, but as one reviewer mentioned you know you're in trouble when the color of the perfume is touted as a big thing.

So, I did try it and I was surprised a bit. Not as bad as I thought. Instead of being a head-snapper it was just 'meh'. Fruity-floral generic-maybe something GaGa would wear in high school? Still fruity-floral and like a lot of other fruity florals out there. Not long lasting on me.

But wait, it kept reminding me of something. Something...not purple berries (yes, that's you Coco Noir), but red berries! Red berries..YES Badgley Mischka! The granddaddy (mama) of all red berries. Which can be had for a song everywhere. Longer lasting, more potent, better ingredients, less expensive. And a great bottle.

Save yourself some money and get the Badgley. Although Gaga's bottle is way cool, too.

When I tried this in Ulta it immediately captured my attention. It is true that the world is full of fruity-sweet celeb perfumes, and I can't claim that there is anything innately special about this one, it just grabbed me, most likely due to the incense note.

Don't shoot me, but it reminds me a little of the original Dior Poison in spirit. They are not dupe-ish, but they both are fruity-incense-honey combos elbowing their way to the front of the crowd. But Gaga is more modern and the sillage is limited.

When you think about it, it fits her persona perfectly, with self-consciously edgy packaging housing a competent but not actually risky product. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's bad.

I don't think there's similiarity between Fame & Fantasy/HiddenFantasy. Fantasy is sickening overpowering sweet, so do Hidden Fantasy. But Fame is fruitier, with a little hony hint that makes it smelled sweet, but in a good way, not overpowering, not sickening.

Yummy! its very sweet in the beginning, but when it settels down its pretty gorgeous & unique! Not an average celeb scent, I did think it would be so special that I wouldent like it, maybee something like alien from thierry mugler. But I was wrong and im Glad. This is unique and likeable, I like it a lot! :) Addictive :)

The fact that this has more dislikes than likes is beyond me.

I have to admit, this one has a fighting potential compared with other uber-sweet, celeb frags like Someday and Pink Friday which is THE MOST commercially-made, generic frags known to man. A yin-yang of sweet and smoky, but although it's not in my nature to buy celebrity fragrances, this was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it isn't a dangerous scent to bear. The sillage on me is big. I wore this on the office one time, and the nearest six cubicles could smell fame (and a plus for the black juice and the egg-shaped bottle that reminded me of my Lanvin's arpege reformulated bottle... the black one). It is a curse because it smells a bit generic. But an interesting thing to note about this particular fragrance is that it changes its scent not like usual perfumes. Give an instance john galliano's EDT (my signature fragrance), patchouli on top, rose on the middle, and musk on the base. Fame changes it's scent as much as lady gaga changes costumes in one concert. Belladonna on one hour, then honey, then saffron interchanging paths. But the drydown always has this baby powder-ish incense feel. Something that is comforting and seductive. But it doesn't last long. I need to reapply every 8 hours, but considering that it is just $25, it's a nice deal for me.


All in all, i like the scent.this one's a keeper but it's not gonna be a favorite since it's too sweet for me. One more thing i've noticed: Most celeb frag reviews here are always associating the scent to the celeb itself which is wrong because alot of celeb frags are somewhat 'contradictory' to their image like JLo's my glow. rShe's always seen as a jolly, happy, energetic individual on stage, but then i got a whiff of her frag and i was amazed. It is soft, subtle, and mature.... Well on my skin, at least. Unlike most of the people here, I was expecting gaga to release a sweet fragrance mainly because almost a majority of her fans are on teenage years. It's about marketing to her major demographics which are the 'little monsters'.

Total rating: 8/10 (as a celeb fragrance.. i actually would rate this as 5/10 over my collection that comprise of designers and niches, but it IS a celeb perfume so i'm not expecting much from it)... 3 for originality, 3 for presentation, and 2 for the scent. I recommend this one for women (or men) who loves sweet scents.

Okay. I've been testing this now since it came out. Initially I really liked it. Its opening was fresh and sweet and its dry down was warm and sweet. I still really like the opening, its a fresh flower, probably orchid. This on me lasts maybe up to an hour if I'm lucky. Then it changes and it can be different daily on me. When its good I get Jasmine and honey and incense and its quiet nice. When its bad its horrid and I' m a little disappointed as it was gifted to me and now in the dry down stage when its not good all I get is incense I think and it is fusty smelling. Like someone who didn't shower smell. Not something I am going to keep and I really did try it a lot since it was a gift but unfortunately it smells bad on me. I wish the opening, that first fresh flower would stay as I think it is beautiful. :(

A sweet apricot scent. This is a decent offering in the fruity category I think. Versatile and pleasant, I think if you like apricot or peach you should definitely try this one. The apricots are honey drizzled, but a light swirl of incense keeps this from being very sweet. There are some light flower petals in there, but they're not all that predominant.
I did expect something different from the notes, this being one of the few celebrity releases I've found intriguing enough to test. If the saffron note was distinguishable on my skin I think it would have made all the difference.
Overall, while pretty pleasant, not something especially interesting.

Sweet and feminine scent. It starts with a candy-like, liquorice note, and turns to something more like jasmine, incense and honey after an hour or so.

I don't understand why it's getting so many bad reviews, maybe only because it carries Lady Gaga's name. I'm not a fan of Gaga and I bought this perfume because I really loved the smell.

Nothing special, smells synthetic like most of the newer perfumes out there. I'm starting to appreciate perfumes with more natural ingredients and even though it drives the price up, the fragrance is much more unique if blended well.

Firstly, I really like this scent. There is a strong grape candy note in it that isn't listed. Ehh well, I think half the "listed notes" are pretty much a fantasy in most perfumes anyway. No 5 doesn't list over a hundred notes, but I hear that is how many it has.
I can't remember much else about this scent at the moment, but it was pleasant and the sales girl confided in me she loved it too- but was always subjected to ridicule for admitting it around the counter.

I decided to do a search for references to "grape" in the reviews before me and laughed when I saw the word "grape" was written 84 times before my review. ..and the bottle actually looks like a single grape held by golden tongs and the juice is purply black!

Now, this is a good fruity-floral (I don't think it smells much like a floral oriental) especially for a celebrity scent, although of course it does not live up to the massive hype that it generated, or really fits in with Lady Gaga's bizarre image.
It starts of smelling almost like grape kool-aid, as others have said, but then smells of honey, flowers and apricot with a tiny amount of incense that does make it smell more intense and dark than most celebrity scents, but not nearly as much as the advertising or bottle, which looks like something Thierry Mugler would design, suggests.

The lasting power and sillage are good.

While the scent is disappointing, if you need a good fruity-floral for everyday wear I might recommend it, but as someone who already owns a fruity-floral I won't be buying, and there are better ones out there.

Considering all the notorious pre-release hype of Lady Gaga's first fragrance, I was expecting a truly unique and daring smell. But, my sample, which I wore two days in a row, was reminescent to me of Estee Lauder's Beautiful. What a let down.

Lasts 7 hours or more on my skin, and much more long-lasting when sprayed on clothes. Sillage? Heavy. My classmates can smell me even when I'm 5 ft. away from them. I love it. But I'm not using it everyday 'coz it's very expensive lol :) Ofcourse I'm gonna repurchase.

i was expecting something more strong, heavy, mystical, creamy, special, powerful and bold. but it's weak, sweet, feminine and without any lasting power.
i bought it blindly and considering the only thing that worth the money is the black juice. the beautifully pictured cap not even true.

I know everyone's chemistry and appreciation for fragrance is different;but I'm surprised that some absolutely detest this fragrance. When I first sprayed it on myself I liked it, but I wasn't blown away. As time passed, it impressed me more and more. It smells absolutely beautiful on me; and I get so many compliments on it. It's very feminine and delicate. It has a subtle sweetness to it; but it's also warm and powdery. It's balanced very nicely. It's also dynamic because the notes kind of fluctuate in dominance through out the day. I own it now and will make it one of my signature fragrances.

I love the bottle, I love the colour of the liquid. That's the good bit over, The smell of it is actually stomach turning, I cannot believe in this day and age such a nasty cheap smelling fragrance can be made, albeit under license. Horrible, nasty, chemically floral, sorry but this is vile.

This is a disappointment to my expectations, but quite a comforting smell to my nose.

I was expecting something dark, sexy, mysterious. Certainly a 'grown up' woman's fragrance. Definitely something smoky and deep.

All I get from this is a little girl running around with candyfloss and strawberry bon bons. With ridiculous ponytails too. There is nothing exciting here. I suspect men won't like it on their partners either, it's just not a sexy smell.

Nevertheless, I like it. Just wasn't expecting this. I could make all sorts of associations as this smell is very nice but this has been done before and does not stand out. And the ad for this is diabolical to me. It makes me want to shake Lady Gaga and shout 'GIVE ME YOUR CANDIES, B*TCH!'... and stop looking so scary. No need.

So far the only celebrity perfume that stands out from the crowd is Rihanna's. Gaga can shake hands with Britney.

I'm big fan of Lady Gaga. And I was so glad hearing about her first perfume! I adore this smell! Very girly and passionate. I feel sexy when I wear it.

So much noise about such a boring synthetic floral. I couldn't get honey from it, maybe I would have liked it more then.

I finally have Lady Gaga's Fame. I wrote a review ages ago saying it was ho hum. I now feel I really have to eat my words. My impression was based based on a quick spray while I was in a hurry. Smell Fame thoughtfully. It is way more complex than I once thought. A lot like Lady Gaga herself. I now "get it"!!!!!!! I did buy it when it was on special like I said I would. Well worth giving Fame a second chance. I love it.

I have to say I am dying to get my hands on the impostor version I saw on Ebay,Crazy Lady. Because isn't that how, love or hate her, we want our Gaga? I wanted Crazy Lady, not Avon Lady! And this smells like a scent from Avon. A pleasant and tame fruity floral, with all the notes of apricot, honey, incense, orchid and other florals coming through at once. Reminds me very much of Imari Seduction, a scent I liked enough to buy. But I bought it at yard sale for $5 from a former Avon Lady clearing out her old stock. Sad Lady.

Finally, is candy a note? Because I get a whiff of Smarties too, like maybe one from from the roll. One Smart Lady?

Little monsters everywhere will ensure that this stays in production but I predict it will find its way to TJMaxx and Burlington Coat factory the way Sara Jessica Parker's Covet did shortly after its debut in Macys. Thank you Gaga, I will be one happy lady if I can get it for a song.

im not a fan of lady gaga nor a hater, but was still very curious of this fragrance. i expected it to be so dark and mysterious but its a very bland, typical celebrity perfume which im so disappointed about.

it also has thing strong note in it that i cant quiet figure out what but i dont like it on my skin... for the rest of it its a sweet fruity floral. really nothing special.

also im kind of on the fence about the black liquid! i know its supposed to turn see through when its in the air but i would still be a little scared to spray this on white clothing! also my sister sprayed this on a tester paper and according to her it went a little brownish after a while... absolutely not impressed!

I tested this perfume a few weeks ago, and thought it smelt quite nice, but for a lady gaga perfume I was expecting something more out of the ordinary and different. It's deffinately more of a night time scent.

As being a gaga fan myself. I have to say that from look of the bottle, juice, and ads. I was expecting a very florally,strange " Thierry mugler" scent. So when i went to sephora i was so suprised to see how light and sweet it was. Especially because everyone was talking about how strong of a perfume this was. But eventually i bought it at macys and sprayed it on my self for the first time and wow what a difference. On the tester card it smells more like a dark sweet floral and on my self i instantly get apricots and honey. But for me the apricots mixed with the honey and incense almost give it a "dry" smell. To me this fragrance reminds me of dry fruits ( like the ones you would find in your special K cereal) with honey glazed on top of it. If Thierry mugler had a friuty fragrance this would be it.oh and the black liquid does turn clear which i was alittle sceptical about. Overall this fragrance is worth the money but i do think its more if an evening scent. Its still a Fruity-floral but just a little darker.

I am a fan of Lady Gaga but sadly, this fragrance does not mix well with my chemistry. :(

I'm not so sure about buying it, the marketing behind thias one it's so huge, but for me the smell of "fame" doesn't fit the concept, however, the smell is delicius and classy

I can totally smell the apricot and honey. The dry down is actually pretty yummy. The uniqueness of the black liquid makes it something different from what's usually out there, and I will say it's not a scent that I've smelled a thousand times before. It's different. I know some people absolutely HATE it, but I think it works quite well with my skin. Its warm, it's cozy, its like biting into a delicious fruity baked delicacy:) I'm not a fan of the whole "So sweet you could eat it" sort of thing, and thats definitely present, but only in the top notes. After it dries and moves with your body, it turns into something deeper and more sensual. I don't know why I'm actually a fan of something by the crazed woman we all know and either love or hate, but she definitely pulled a unique combination of scents out from nowhere and did something pleasant with it.

THE SMELL:

Right off the bat! Orchids, Apricot (which together smell like peaches idk) and honey. Then after 30 seconds the fragrance just smell like (its hard to discribe) its like if you have a five year old expired body cream and you put it on your skin then sprayed a normal fruity floral perfume, this is what FAME smells like. I think this is how she's going by saying it smells like an expensive hooker,
This scent stays the same for 3-4 hours, it just smell feminine i can't smell the notes it just smells "girly". Its not really girly it just smell boring..
The base of this is a creamier apricot and honey thats about it...
I only bought this thing cuz i'm a HUGE gaga fan. Its not even alluring or anything, it's really weird, not in a good way! its very hard to describe it's fruity and light, but its not a day scent.. nor a night scent! It's not sexy, the fragrance just screams GENERIC! It just smell like a cheap version of any well made sexy fragrance out there. I don't get why non-gaga fans buy this.The this is the scent is very addicting i always i want to sniff this i don't know why! I can't help but spraying this on me all the time! If it's not by Lady Gaga i would have never bought this. It smells cheap boring and plain. It could've been better but not groundbreaking.

I THINK IT'S A WONDERFUL FRAGRANCE! GOOD FOR LADY GAGA!

Although i am not fond of celebrity fragrances... This one got the worst and the best of me. At first, the fragrance is disappointing. Too sweet and powdery contrary to it's dark physique. Its like mugler's alien bottle filled with a victoria's secret fragrance. A bit of love spell with amber romance would be specific. Although i admire the bottle design and the black fluid. It looks like an evil potion from the middle ages. Over time, the scent changes to a sweet honey to a spicy saffron. The transition between the change took more than 30 minutes. It dries down on my skin like baby powder which is great for daytime. All in all, the perfume itself is a statement. Much like the singer behind this, she just knows how to impress, yet set limits to her extent. Over a score of ten, i'd give this one a seven. Two points for originality, three points for presentation, and two points for the scent.

I beg of you, please for the sake of the general public, do NOT buy this. I had to walk behind someone wearing it the other day and I almost threw up- it smells absolutely revolting. Don't buy it because of the message it sends- 'Oh, if I wear Lady Gaga's perfume I'm a strong little monster' because we would rather you wear off meat on your body. It smells shockingly awful on everyone that wears it, I could have killed that girl. Ugh.

I guess people just expected too much from the woman who set the hairspray on fire with those outrageous outfits and the meat dress. I do like the fragrance but I do totally agree to the fact that she could pull out a far more better fragrance than this.

And the fragrance lived up to its name with those outrageous issues and controversies that people threw from here to there starting from its notes where it had a disturbing evil flower up to the bottle design and the advertisement, in that point Fame really defined Fame. isn't that Fame all about? being famous for things like issues and controversies people throw?

Back to the point of the perfume review. I do like it but I do respect your opinion about the scent, I know everyone of us has different tastes. the perfume bottle was great, the lid was really.. if you buy the 100mL you would get the one with the metal cap version which could actually be used as a stabbing machine like those things the Ninjas use? yeah. the fluid was quite mind blowing the fact that it is black but when I spray it on my wrist the liquid turns out a kind of grey and when I bought it, I got a free Fame body lotion which also has a black cream. yes, a black cream but it doesn't stain. my friends does actually like it on me so that is a plus +. and that's all that I'd like to say about this fragrance, thank you for reading :)

I really wanted to like this, but i just couldn't. It smelled like a combination of grape candy, butter, and cheap synthetic wood. I hope she comes out with another scent that is way better than this!

I bought this today on a whim. I smelled it at Ulta, and since I had a 20% fragrance coupon, I bought it. It smells very mature. I like it! It smells unique to me, like nothing I've smelled before. I think I'm going to enjoy it!

I smelled this about 2 weeks ago and just yesterday I tried it again. This stuff smells awesome! I'm a guy, but this has a great smell. I'm not a big fan of LADY GAGA but Kudos to her and her team. Once sprayed I get some kind of flower reminiscent of Gardenia, White Floral and just sweet. Not sugar, so I'm guessing it's the honey. Now here is the thing: I have the little test strip and it still smells floral and slightly fruity, but on my skin it stayed as a delicious dried apricot with honey on top. That's all it smelled like pretty much. I could pick up the Incense sometimes and some Saffron too. I got an impressive 8-10 hours on this fragrance! And some people complimented on the fragrance as well so the definitely picked it up. For the guys, this is not manly at all, but it smells awesome. I as a man would wear it for clubbing or a night out with that special someone. This makes you smell edible man! This is a unique fragrance not for everyday use (FOR MEN, you have to be very confident and rock it your own way). This on a girl would smell delicious anytime.

I have just tested the perfume as I am writing this and I am really excited! It is a lovely mix of fruity and floral scents, it is quite sweet and a bit heavier, but does not give you the "suffocating" effect like some other perfume does. It really reminds me of some other fragrance, though. Not sure which one but most probably a Tommy Hilfiger perfume, as I am positive I have used/smelled something like this before. It also in some way reminds me of Diors' J'Adore. The black liquid freaks me out a bit but it does not leave any marks on the skin, which is obviously good. All in all, I really like it! Did not expect the perfume to be soo good, but it is pretty unique, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous and I would really recommend this even as an everyday scent for both younger and more mature women.

This will always be so refreshing to me. Very distinct apricots and incense with Jasmine undertones at first, with a thick, beautiful fry down of honey & saffron. It's ever changing. Even in strong doses I'll never get enough of it. People dwell on the imagery & creator more than the actual scent. I see a lot of reviews with unusual notes being picked up. To me it sounds like some peoples nasal passages weren't exactly clear when they've tested it. There are no grape notes, but even I have at times smelled them. Mainly after smelling other fragrances before, it effects the way you perceive other ones. Even still, for someone who would be considered a parfum Connoisseur to write a bad review on this isn't exactly fair in my opinion. Celebrity scents aren't made to break the barrier smell wise. And maybe this is how Gaga likes to smell considering this was made for her. To each his own, I'll always love this. But to come after Gaga for not meeting your expectations isn't exactly right when everyone has different taste.

I didn't expect to like this, but surprisingly i really do, it has a poison feel to it, floral and warm, i spoke to a lady who i know only ever wears Cocoa chanel and she said oh i like that very much, she was shocked when i said its Fame by Gaga, but said i still like it.

The bottle design could have been better thought out, i mean it looks snazzy and all that, but that lid is a weapon.

Smells like an '80's type perfume...nothing 'wow' about it really...what stood out to me was the honey note and a floral note...very heavy and cloying scent. Also, it sprayed black on my skin even though I sprayed it first in the air. I also thought the bottle looked pretty cheap in person...

This is kind of bodily sweet and sour. I get mostly fruity notes from it. Interesting fragrance, but not for me. I can definitely appreciate it and I think it should get points for uniqueness. Not badly unique either. It doesn't develop much, just slowly diminishes and sweetens. I think it could almost be unisex.

I tried this twice, at first i thought it smelled like cologne but kind of sweet, then i tried it again today when i sprayed it, it smelled like grapes, a nice smell, but i just don't like how it smells on my skin and as much as i try to like it i just don't, i guess it's just me but i see nothing special about this, even the bottle that i thought it was nice, in person it looks cheap, and it lasted like two hours on my skin, whatever i think it works different on every person so if you're interested give it a try! if not... give it a chance :P you might like it.

"Fame", comes with the firm determination to capitalize on an already well established market of sweet, musky, floral perfumes, and it does so, by being a nice and carefully balanced proposal so that it hits all the right spots.
I think most people say they don't like it only because they judge it with relevance to the celebrity behind it, but please don't!

As a perfume it is quite nice! It smells like a Tom Ford product and it has the "Poison" 80's legacy all around it, in glossy paper!
For those that haven't tried it yet, imagine it as a very sweet, dark and somehow hypnotic jasmine - tuberose.
This is what "Fame", is all about.
Honestly, for the money, I can only think of one other perfume equally intriguing. My own, "Eau de Joanna".

I bought this last month and its surprisingly a great smell. Not too florally and not too sweet either. However, it doesn't stay long.

This fragrance is very powdery and very musky and it smells like an expensive hooker! AND I LOVE IT!!

Grabbing a fistful of incense, holding it close to your face, inhaling sharply..then shoving your face into a bouquet of orchids drenched in fruit cocktail syrup would smell much like Fame. I'm disappointed that this fragrance wasn't as edgy as it promised to be...its actually very ordinary. Regardless, it -is- nice for what it is. Plus the "Masterpiece" edition (with the metal top as opposed to the plastic looks fab...)

Black Fluid: Nope. Edgy: Nope. Saffron: Nope. Honey:Nope Apricot: Maybe??? Fame, you're a liar..but i kinda like you anyway. Not a favorite..and oddly you -taste- strange when i spray you (therefore, i can't wear you)...however youre interesting to smell once in a while.

I was expecting something daring due to the structure of the bottle and the color of the liquid, but I should've know better than to judge a book by it's cover, or in this case, the perfume from it's bottle.

The scent is sweet, unique, playful, dazzling and alluring, not to mention sexy. I believe this is the personality that portrays Lady GaGa, not more or less.

What's left of blood and sperm: the untold story of an expensive hooker named Belladonna

Prologue:
Just like the famous alien egg of Ridley Scott's 1979 movie Alien, the flacon of "Fame" - Lady Gaga's first scent - thrones on the advertisement poster. "The thing" has landed. As in the controversial video for "Born This Way" "Mother Monster" gives birth to a new "race" - this time it's a new race of perfume. It's the birth of the young Belladona - a beautiful, but dangerous woman - a chimera - appealing, yet deadly - just like in the movies of Species or Splice. It's something the world hasn't seen yet. Her soul is black as fame itself, but on the outside she presents herself pure and dazzling to protect her true identity - so you might call it "Liquid Gaga". The lid of the flacon looks like the claws of a bird of prey - mystic, yet majestic. If turned upsidedown it functions as an "eggcup" and makes the whole thing look like a Fabergé egg.

Sounds like an old school SciFi-B-Movie for sure, but in reality this is more like a delusion of the whole thing. "Fame" per se has nothing really dark to it, except for its color. It's quite hard for me to detect anything at all. The scent is very light and barely noticable so one can't get an exact image or impression on Lady Gaga's understanding of fame. She stays inapprochable and hard to see through still. The birth of Belladonna failed. The story of the expensive hooker ended before it even began. What I notice is the very slight odeur of a mixture between honey and jasmine with an apricot in the center. The fruit does come out of the shadows at one point of this scent "journey". It smells a bit grapey and sweet, but this creature of the night hates the light badly, so it steps right back in the shadows where it came from. And then it's over, so what happened? When I saw the creators of the juice I was somehow disenchanted immediately. All scents I encountered from those were horribly disappointing fragrance experiences. Funny how sometimes all things seem to go in one direction then. And what a nasal catastrophy it is indeed. I really didn't expect it this way. To me personally "Fame" fell through on all important criteria.

So what's left of blood and sperm now when it comes to the texture of the fragrance? Well, the scent has the same texture like blood when wiped on the skin - it loses its color when in contact with oxygen before fading away. The same goes for very inviscid sperm I guess, but there's nothing more to say about this aspect.

Epilogue:
On a dark rainy night in a back alley of a foggy street she troublesome emerges from her egg. Her body is covered in slime, her hunger endless, but her powers weak. Forsaken by her mother she crawls on the cold wet concrete before taking her last breath. She almost managed to get to the empty main street, but her life is over the moment her clawed hand hits the bottom. Belladonna is dead, she wasn't able to find a victim on her own to feed on it. this perfume, remember me the night, I feel a magic and melancholy. Very much reflective of Lady Gaga herself

The city I live in is relatively small, so our Macy's does not have as large a perfume selection as a Macy's in a big city would. I was there yesterday, and they have brought in quite a few perfumes for the Christmas buying season that they don't normally carry here. I have gotten a kick out of reading the reviews on Fame so I was excited to see it yesterday so I could finally experience it.

The SA sprayed some on a test strip and handed it to me. Definitely grape Koolaid in the top notes, but then when that started to fade, it was surprisingly pleasant. Considering my age and that I love the classic perfumes and can't abide just about anything new that I've smelled, this was the most wearable perfume I smelled yesterday. It was not cloying, over-vanillaed and once the grape note faded, didn't smell like something you should eat or drink rather than wear.

I tried this one a couple of times now and decided that alas, it's not for me. The top notes are an odd combination of sweet/sour and quite strong but on me, it seems like no time at all and I cannot smell it. At all. No lasting power, no sillage, no impression.

Disappointing!

I love this fragrant when I took the first spritz. lady Gaga is one creative genius when it comes to her music. Fame was sweet and inviting in its opening. I was like " WOW" at first then then "WTH??" after a few minutes. AFter a few minutes it transformed into some dark occultic Charles Manson Son of Sam deep dark depressive negative void of despair. Great if I need to drown in an ocean of misery to snap out of my normal happiness world :D. It's not a bad smell. It just feels too negative heavy depressive and there's already too much creepiness in this world for me to soak on some more from this bottle. Looking at all the "dislike" on the voting poll above, I am not surprised

I didn't like AT ALL when it first came out (a couple of months ago), but now I just loveeeeeeeeeeee it!
To me, it smells very "creamy", soft and sweet.
I'm not a Gaga fan but I adore her scent.

After hearing the description of the process used to create this fragrance and the length of time it took for L.G. to be pleased enough w it to market it From a client of mine who works in the fragrance industry I became intrigued. I am not really a fan of L.G.'s music or style-as I am in my 30's- though I hear she helps young girls become more confident, which is super. I said jokingly to my boyfriend, "what if I loved it and you had to tell friends that your lady wore GaGa?" He didn't get the joke of course but I'm sure anyone reading this knows that I was implying that it would be embarrassing, since I am so "classy." Haha! I ordered a sample w my next Nordstrom order just for fun and guess what? Loved it! Today my client came in and she had a bottle of it for me. I was rolled! She said that its been difficult to sell because the fragrance is more sophisticated and people in their 30's and 40's really love it, though the entertainer's name turns them off. I can see her point and feel that the scent and packaging could have gone further with her name being left off the bottle and her talk of inspirations for the scent left out of the equation. The bottle can be displayed in the upside down lid which looks appealing. I must admit, I looked to see if I could remove her name from the bottle, hoping it was a sticker. I usually wear Flowerbomb, but love variety and Fame makes the cut for days when I feel the urge to wear something soft, feminine, and different.

FAME - its such a beautiful scent ! I dont care if its Chanel or Lady Gaga & Britney. I was shopping with my grandma :) at the shopping center, we saw perfume FAME. I tried it. And it's a very nice scent. I really like it ! Its sweet and sensual. It is fruity and spicy at the same time. It reminds me of a perfume, what my mother wore when I was little... In the 90s. I think I know what I get from my grandma for Christmas :)
And the bottle is magical.

this isn't the best celebrity fragrance however it is pleasant smelling. i mainly got it because of the unique bottle and the cool 'black liquid' effect. i just thought it would look good on my dresser. So i got the fragrance and the lotion. I tried out the tester at the store and automatically it kind of smelt like spicy honey and plastic. But as it quickly dried down, i got a huge shot of apricot. and the apricot kind of stayed on me for a while. the longer i wore it, the softer and lighter it got and by the end of the day it kind of smelt really vanilla-y. the lotion smells exactly like the fragrance, but is one the worst lotions i have ever used. It smells good, but it is very water-based and runny and just soaks into your skin instead of moisturizing it. and the blackness of the lotion just looks awful. i tried putting on the perfume just after putting on the lotion, but it ended up smelling WAY too incense-y and smokey and losing its remarkable fruity-floralness. overall, the bottle is simple, yet unique and decorative and the fragrance is just mediocre. a bit predictable which is completely the opposite of lady gaga.

I tried the tester, however, say, that did not seem original. I had heard this floral fragrance and nauseating I, I feel so much jasmine and orchid, however, the packaging is cute.

Mashed up apricot puree, honey, white florals, orchid, and just a touch of smoke. All the notes are very heavy and strong. Will knock your nose over, it's not the typical fruity floral that you should apply four sprays of. I think the top of the bottle is really cool, but am dissapointed with the bottom.

I had no idea blood and semen had such a pretty scent to it! Absolutely nothing about this perfume stands out, and honestly it's a little forgettable - basically everything Lady Gaga is NOT. I will say it is very pleasant in a super subtle feminine way. Although for me personally, I wish it had some real boldness. No it doesn't stink lol. Not sure about smelling cheap, but it does feel dated....and not in a "classic" way.

Love Lady Gaga so I may end up purchasing Fame for days when I want something very subtle.

I tested this today and was pleasantly surprised. Having read Gaga's description of the perfume, saying she wished for it to smell like an 'expensive hooker', as well as the reviews on here, I was convinced that Fame would be pungent and awful-smelling. However, what I got was pleasant fruits and sweet honey.

I never sprayed the fragrance on my wrist - I used a test strip, so the liquid remained black on the paper instead of becoming invisible like it does in the air. Haha

Although Fame is not a particularly unique fragrance, it is a pleasant-smelling one; however, what it is innovative for is its 'push-pull' technique, as said in the description, as well as its black fluid. I am not sure whether I will buy it - perhaps if it were given to me as a gift I would use it.

well, i bought this perfume like 3 weeks before ( and i already used it all and bought another one :D ). The bottle : this bottle is the masterpiece, is amazing, awesome, glorious ! Beautiful golden cap that reminds a lot of you to the monster claw but to me it resembles the belladonna fruit :) the idea with black color is just magnifficent and very elegant soft name on sprayer is great aswell :) The lasting : i dont know why all of you are saying things like it lasts about 3 hours, on me this perfume smells 6-7 hours. The fragrance : at the first moment to me it comes like grape kool aid with bit of apricot, i think that this grape but little bitter at end aroma is belladonna.After a while something like sweet honey and saffron comes to it with some of muskiness, like incense, but not burned, dry. After a long time very creamy and more floral scent comes which is somehow very opulent and addictive....:3 My reaction : at first i hated this perfume, it was bit too sweet and average for me, but then i became absolutely addicted, it like drug, seriously :D I can actualy imagine a lot of moderate woman wearing it, its very wearable :) but somehow i think this is gay perfume, really for someone like me :D and also for ( dont laugh please ) elegant old lady, like Queen Elisabeth :DDDDD i mean this creamy part :) for me this is one of the best perfumes ever created :)

Grape soda followed by cheap jasmine fart. Without exaggeration this is the worst fragrance I've ever seen sold for more than $60. The type of jasmine in this is what I previously smelled on girls and assumed to be some naturally-occurring menstrual fart odor--later I discovered to my horror that it's acually an ingredient in the cheap whore perfumes of 2012. It's there in Paco Rabanne's Lady Million as well, which I'm sure is appreciated by the classy types that like this. However, I do approve of Lady Gaga Fame if it is worn by cute teenage gay boys since it will get them comfortable with wearing opposite gender fragrances early on.

At first, I get a grape kool aid note as some others have mentioned. But it shortly settles into primarily a very sweet, fizzy peach. I would swear there is orange blossom in this, but it's not listed. This is basically a supersweet fruity scent, with a suggestion of floral, and surprisingly, a powdery drydown. Longevity on me is 3 hours max.

Got my bottle of Fame a while ago and I am just SO happy with it! At first I wasn't because it smelled like flowers dipped in grape koolaid but after a few seconds, the smell develops into something more floral and less koolaid-y. After an hour, it started to smell creamy on my skin with just the right amount of sweetness. Almost like a subtler, more floral Lolita Lempicka (the original one). It's not really what I expected from Lady Gaga but I still like it. It's unique in a soft, feminine kind of way.

Update: Longevity is good. Lasts six to seven hours on me. Sillage, not so much. Maybe about a foot.

At first i wasn't so crazy about it, but this parfume needs a little time to grow on you it is very addictive i can't stop looking at the bottle and smelling it, and there is something about it when you hold it in your hand it's so beautiful and precious. Even though i was exspecting something bold from Gaga something with metalic notes poisonous flowers and leather, things that can describe her, im really in love with this one even so that i dont wanna waste it because of beautiful mysterious black fluid and amazing smell... I relly love this one.

I agree that this one is deceptively inviting. The packaging hints at something dark, mysterious, brooding. Yet in actuality, it's just another sickeningly sweet, nauseating, cookie-cutter, fruity, teeny-boppery scent - with a cloying kick. This one should have been named "Lady Gag Me." Blech!

I watched the trailer and everything. And since it was Lady Gaga, I expected the perfume to be very edgy, dark, sultry, animalistic, unusual, provocative, etc. But I was very surprised and deceived ! It smells very mainstream to me. It's very ordinary, nothing special about it. I was expecting something much stronger and edgier, but the perfume is just.. blah.

First time u spray it,its super sill,after 15 minutes it falls asleep on you skin,n dies in an hour but sometimes rebirth,i know u think m crazy,incense smells dry,not burnt ,sprayer is not fine enough which causes more of splash than mist,i think most is 3 hours, n i suggest layering,ps,theres no cum,i think its her thanks to her fans because the ingridients come from all continents,and i think the belladonna she use is not for scent,what is intresting about belladonna that it is found in north america,europe,africa. West asia,i love it,but not sill enough, guess its because of the chemicals for colourng which makes the perfume less sill,i personally think she should make extrait version or create more layering products,ex: hair mist,face lotion,exfoliator,sunblock?,deodorant(not rollerball,the rol on),body spray,im not suggesting all,but maybe if she adds one or some of these t mght be better,or maybe she creates rhe clear version or collurless,my point is,its not intense,everybody can wear,its interesting,but not sill enough,everything is prfect

When I see the bottle, it was unique because the bottle is like an egg and the cap is like a claw. I was interest to buy it.
Then, I bought it the Le Masterpiece one (100ml) and I got 30ml free, one week ago.
When the first time I smell that perfume, I was shocked. Cause it's different from any celebrity's perfume. It's like a cheap perfume.
But anyway, I already bought it. So, I'll use it.

About the scent, I can smell the Honey scent. But I don't smell any warm spicy in there. And after a few hours (like 3 or 4 hours) I can smell the incense scent.

is a mess just like lady gaga, with the money but not the good taste, the perfume have the notes but are drunk and confused :)

Hidden underneath all the hype and outrageous 'get ups', Gaga is a very talented (and classically) trained musician with a fabulous voice. Sadly, her new fragrance (along with all the other vapid celebrity fragrances) is...simply expensive flyspray.

Of course every person is unique and in saying this we all have different tastes and likes. However, if any of you would like to treat your senses and (have many men asking, "what are you wearing, you smell divine?")...try the exquisite Boucheron EDP by Boucheron and the BLACK bottle of Narciso Rodriguez For Her - he'll be putty in your hands...promise.

I tried this one, and to be honest, I don't like it at all. It gets more fruity and sweet than floral on my skin and it really reminds me of summer Escadas, which is a minus, since I don't like that kind of smells.

Thank god perfume has the capacity to reveal truths that current mass media cannot. If you were to believe the visual imagery, the music, the PR, you’d assume that Justin Bieber was the tween idol and Gaga was the Edgy Artist who Will Not be Restrained ©. But Bieber’s perfume, with its stagnant topnotes becomes a kool aid made with non-potable water and has at least some edge.

Gaga’s scentscape of the mall shows that she’s the true tween queen. The shock appeal of stunts like the meat dress and Drastic Fashion is transformed in this perfume into the shockingly banal. Fame is a cloying, simple fruit soup. It rides a tight line between the dual sensibilities of 1) yet another faceless vapid floriberry, and, 2) worse.

Born this way? Reductionist, but that’s where the pendulum has swung and I get it. Smell this way? Good lord, no.

This is not at all what I would imagine Lady Gaga, soulless fame, or a black perfume would smell like. Her image, this bottle design, and the general idea behind her music is very intense. This perfume is quite the opposite--floral and powdery: to me, it smelled like orange juice and baby powder. I expected it to be intimidating, dark, and aggressive, like CK Euphoria, DK Black Cashmere, or VS Very Sexy. I am disappointed. I was hoping for a new kind of bold, womanly, aggressive fragrance from a celebrity...not the flowery, girly, crowd-pleasers they all seem to have nowadays. It doesn't stink, it's just misleading. We're not all bouncing around in pigtails and pom-poms at homecoming, you know. :(

Yuck, sorry, just, well, just no-thing. I adore Gaga!! This "should" have been an amazing fragrance! damn. Did the perfumers get hit by the Wonderstruck Brittany- Taylor - cotton candy wand? Maybe if I was a 12 year old and this was my first perfume-- then I would love it-- black liquid and all. Boring, fruity, sugary sell able perfume, dry down? = mild, sugar to no-thing. Even cotton candy syrup Angel dries into a undeniable musk patchouli disguised adult oddly deliciousness -- not to the nether land of no-thingness. Good can be, is, marketable too. Unique -- as she does so well, sells. So why such a do no-thing bore of a scent? There are no pulverized apricots or and heady scent of bella donna. Cotton candy being my favorite food with an orange flavored drink and a steamed hot dog to go with it walking down the midway at our local carnival during a mid summer's eve-- perhaps this is where Lady Gaga's Fame lives.

I dont understand why this has such low ratings! Its an extremely different perfume unlike any I've purchased before. It's almost as if every time I smell it, I get a different note. You can always smell the sweet honey and incense though. Such a beautiful scent and is now one of my signatures.

I got a trial of Fame last night from Belk's. I'm wearing it right now, and I have to say that it is a very light scent. I can barely smell it. What I can smell is a very light floral smell, not sweet at all. I think it's jasmine.
I'm kind of suprised. When I sprayed it on the tester strip, all I could smell was a fruity, almost citrusy smell.
It's not unpleasant, but again, I can barely smell it. I have to put my nose up to my wrist to get a whiff.
I can't say that I would purchase this perfume, but if someone gave it to me as a gift, then I would probably use it.

This smells really nice on me, pretty, floral and fairly long lasting. I'm pleased. On my profile, you'll see many orientals and gourmands, some floral fruity a few woody musks and the odd aromatic. That pretty much tells you which groups work best with me:)

I really love the smell, but it lasted only 1 hour in my skin. I was like... "Where's the perfum now!"

FAME, when it was released, was something I could not wait to smell. I have always been a fan of GaGa and her music, and since she released FAME I was dying to get a hold of the bottle.

When I did get a chance to finally smell it, I was kind of surprised. I didn't really know what to expect since many had said it smelled like Grape Kool-Aid, alcohol, and even medicine. However, when I sprayed it on the tester and finally put it up to my nose, I was extremely happy. It smelled perfect, seductive, floral, sweet, and sensual. I was so intrigued and addicted that I had to have a bottle.

I splurged when I finally bought it and got the 3.4oz. since it is Le Masterpiece, and when I finally took it out of the box I realized that it was really big. I didn't imagine it as large as it was, but the egg-shaped glass bottle and gold metal claw-like lid look beautiful in person. The lid also comes of fairly easily as it is more difficult to remove on the smaller sizes, and the black liquid does indeed spray clear.

On my skin, I definitely smell the apricot, honey, and the floral notes. They all seem to meld together into one really seductive and sensual fragrance that I can't get enough of. I've also discovered that if you rub where you have sprayed FAME (ex: wrists, hand, tester card) and wait a few seconds, a suddenly spicy and smoky scent arises out of the sensual notes before it. The belladonna, incense, and saffron kick in, and a smoky, musky scent can be smelled. This was a real surprise after the light notes before it, and it eventually fades back down into the sweetness that came before it.

Overall, I am 100% satisfied with FAME and would instantly buy another bottle if I got the chance. It's a very sexy fragrance that makes you want to run out and find someone to seduce, and I love wearing it. I constantly smell myself whenever it's on my wrists...

Black juice and bottle looks awesome, but what it does for you....I figured it would be a dark mysterious scent for a woman but its not. Seems like a fruity, floral sweet smell.

Smelled it while shopping. Very generic fragrance. Not very bold from Lady Gaga. I would have expected more from her, but it's about sales at the end of the day, so it can't be too crazy, can it?

First and foremost I will start off by stating that this is definitely an above average celebrity scent. I sampled her fragrance expecting some god awful mess and I was very pleasantly surprised. While it's not particularly groundbreaking, it does have a somewhat unique quality and seems much more thoughtful than most celebrity pop star fragrances (which in my opinion are more often than not beyond mediocre). The scent itself may seem disappointing to some only because people were probably expecting something a little stranger coming from Lady Gaga and yet....its a normal lovely scent! Now thats unexpected!

I'd have to say its a very pleasant and basic scent. The only offense it may carry to certain people is more than likely not the scent itself but the fact that its a branch Lady Gaga's celebrity.

I think it is a good scent, not a black one, maybe a pink floral :)

Not bad, but certainly not good. Sweet incense and crass cinnamon, with decent longevity and sillage. Initially, there is some spritzy pear (the apricot?), and some old powdery jasmine. The problem here is not the ingredient list: it is the mediocre and overall synthetic quality of the perfume. With the exception of what feels like Jasmin Sambac, this perfume has no natural ingredients or fixatives. It feels wholly unnatural on the skin, and never melds into it, but rather sits atop.

The drydown isn't too far removed from the entrance or the heart, with the exception of the dying off of the minimal aldehydes. There is no story to this perfume, no development or unfolding of notes in a harmonic manner. I find it boring, possibly more so than I normally would because of what it promised to be- but was not.

While the current pricepoint is high, once it hits $20/bottle I imagine it will become a staple of perfume spritzing strippers worldwide.

The fragrance is very pretty and soft, suitable for any age and any occasion. I found it to be quite long lasting on my skin, so that may depend on skin chemistry. Oriental scents tend to work well with mine.

I bought a gift set at Sephora for 32euros with a 30ml bottle, the 10ml rollersphere and a gaga-tatoo! :) The bottle is really egg shaped ad very nice, the perfume is really fruity but not in an unpleasant sweety way. It is nice for any age but the only lack I find in it is longevity...it's a cheap Eau de parfum so it doesn't last so long!

I don't often find a perfume that does not give me a headache that I actually like. I was intrigued by the color and the bottle design, and pleasantly surprised when I sprayed it and it smelled "pretty" since I recall Gaga metioning that it was inspired by "blood and semen". I am not a perfume girl by any means, but I actually really like this. I love the way it smells on me and I actually notice that it changes as I wear it instead of just fading away. My husband got me the big gift set with the rollerball and the shower gel, great price at $84. I keep the rollerball in my purse, I love it that much.

something doesn't feel right when I spray this fragrance... it seems a bit like Marmite. You ether love it, or hate it...

its a sweet, exotic mix, that doesn't quite get the balance right.

The black fluid is amazing though. The bottle is stunning, and the gift set is amazing value for money.

Maybe it just doesn't sit comfortably on my skin, but I do hope she brings out another fragrance that pushes the boundries of 'commercial celebrity fragrances', because they are all starting to smell the same to me!

The best perfume I have ever tried! It's refreshing and it's very light. The smell is amazing and not like anything else!!! I recommend this to everyone who wants a perfume with an edge and a flowery smell

I tested this today and find it quite nice! I found no negative at all. It's really a "pretty" scent. It's a bit on the weak side but that appeals to a lot of people! Not everyone likes a "big" scent. It's ideal for those people. I'd keep it if it were a gift and be very happy! I'm not at all fond of the bottle (the claws)and I don't like the magazine ad. It's captivating, just creepy to me. I think it's the rippled flesh where all the men are grasping. Gaga is talented, I'll grant her that, just not to my own personal interest. Yeah for her! She's done a fine job!

Um, no... I don't "have to respect her". That said, my friend and I tried out the fragrance today on a whim as celebrity scents that inevitably end up in drugstores are usually not worth the bother. Her response, "Wow, that's not at all the freakish stinkfest I expected, I kinda like it." Mine was that if someone sat down next to me wearing this, I would not have to get up and move. In fact, I would keep this fragrance if someone gifted it to me. I may actually wear it tomorrow again, it is growing on me. Sweet and moderate intensity, balanced and pleasant. I do agree, however, that the visual of the blackish perfume in the claw-topped bottle is not at all in accord with the scent within.

The marketing for Fame is kind of deceiving. It isn't dark-like at all, it's almost quite the opposite, not that I'm opposed to it. I decided to try Fame on at the counter, I remember thinking "This smells just like Poppy by Coach." this wasn't a bad thing, however, Poppy dried down to sugary baby powder on my skin. I had hopes that Fame didn't have that same effect.

After about thirty minutes, here comes the baby powder smell.

Fame is a pleasant fragrance but not surprising and daring. The bottle is impressive and the fact that the black liquid that becomes transparent when spraying is interesting. The image propagated dismissive of the delicate fragrance. (Fixation is not good).

Seriously I don't know why this perfume get so much hate, when Gaga acts outrageous people say she is extravegent but now she puts out something wearable and beautiful people say it's normal and dissapointing just for the first sniff.

Believe me I love this perfume so much it is so different than the others,it just needs time to grow, the honey scent is so obvious at the start makes it so sweet BUT not the candy sweet it's another level of mature sweet, something very lady and sexy. The main thing that really makes me fall for the perfume is the toned down scent after awhile,the smell kinda change,it becomes so warm, so sexy, so dark and floral,and a little bit of a spicyness in it, perharps it's the effect of the saffron and jasmine sambac that makes me feel like a sexy goddess when I wear it. Afterall, I really love this fragrance so much. I bought the smallest bottle at first and now I'm going to buy the largest bottle once I finished it. <3

I had a sample ...the scent is sweet floral it is not sharp gourmand scent ... it is lovely i can smell the honey I noticed soft citrus but the most dominant in the fragrance is the floral notes and honey sweetness which mixed so well.

Before smelling it and according to what I saw on TV, I thought it will smell dark warm scent because the black liquid , However it is more reflecting Fame than darkness , with the glowing sweetness of honey and the fun touch of floral notes in the scent , I guess that is Fame shiney with alot of fun and glamourous also it very sexy, feminine ,attention grabbing scent.

I guess all the hatred toward this fragrance is because the black liquid which all the advertising that Gaga made for this fragrance gave the perfume a dark aura with alot of evil which is not what the actually scent reflects in real.

I think that Lady gaga made a mistake on expressing what the real scent is, she focused on the technology of making this fragrance and the black color ( which is really a revolutionary ) of the fragrance which we can see in her promotions for her fragrance.

The fragrance smells good and reflecting Fame not evil not darkness not anything else it is just reflecting FAME , it is good for day and night occasions, I found it a little bit similar to some perfumes ( like Fantasy for Britney Spears) ... but the bottom line is: this fragrance is very beautiful and so misunderstood .

I feel like I've smelt this scent about a million times before. Nothing new or exciting like I was hoping.

There was so much hype about this perfume I though it was going to be incredible... I was sadly mistaken. You can sort of smell the berry tones but I just find this perfume so bland and boring. The bottle looks quite quirky its a shame the perfume doesn't match =/

Ok. Not boring. Monotonously fruity-berryish for a couple of hours, berries and fruits are laying in a metal pan after being washed with warm water, a bit of steam-and-cream from a freshly cooked 5-munites-ready jam (to preserve most of vitamins intact).

But the base is decently perfume like - hints of jasmine with a touch of insense. Elegant.

The overall impression - tons of sincere girlish good college educated coquettry and emotions at first, than push-pull in relations on whether who is more eminent in the duo, with a final grown-up decision to adopt a reasonable pleasant position of mutual non-insulting as to socialising, a bit reserved, dry and cool, but that's precious life experience not genes, you know...

Primaka, I did google Balphomet and the word is actually 'baphomet'. What you're saying is farfetched and not inspired by the perfume itself but by hatred and fear. Go try to scare some people somewhere else.

The clue here is not to catch the vocabulary OF THE WORST.

As to the bottle - it is obviously a micro-model of an artist's feelings of the space and emotions from the concert. Aggressive gold, embracing the black ellipse with it's claws is just the lighting from the scene as it is usually made for big, pictureque shows, and the black substance is a dark space of the hall where listeners of the concert stay during the show. Just push the button (push the spray), and it will emanate a sweet, emotional juice akin to emotions and resemblances that everyone has when listening to music and adjusting it's symbols and meanings to dimensions of their own life.

Audience is no fool. Everbody knows it's just a show, a concentrated dream to be thought over and emotinally lived through.

Just as the stage lights are gone, everyone returns to his own being. But what he or she gets from it - well, every artist has hopes for clever public, and believes his art brings joy, hours of light and pleasure and some hints for one's own creativity that's acceptable and (wow!) might be profitable or useful or, at least personality enriching...

That's it. Let us reduce accusations of Gaga to the scope and colours of her creativity in showing the pain that every creative person should come through to reach for a decent living.

So, what a marketologist should say to attract masses of buyers which decide among hundreds of scents in a store? To get Gaga's soul, being vulnerable and transparent on stage, half-naked to make people buy a sound nice girlish perfume?!

I would never believe the perfumer who signed this scent put the ELDO's notorious signature nitrile notes to imitate something akin to secretions. Crap.

I have nothing personal on Lady Gaga, actually i love her..but her perfume, oh ms. gaga why? i really wanted to love this but i just cant. Its horrible actually. To me it smells like chewing gum. EXACTLY like chewing gum actually.. you know, the fruity ones. It doesnt last AT ALL on my skin. If you're looking forward to smelling like a piece of gum just go ahead and buy some at your local supermarket, but do not get this. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Gaga, being an Italian by origin, might have strongly ironised on this facet of life - this joke can easily be read vice versa, underlying that women of all times haunted men by being innocent and seducing, though out of their control untill males decide to offer them something that women cannot decline - love and marriage. Just bought this edp but I'm not quite sure what to think of it yet. It's quite strong but sweet, not very special in itself but it does stand out in a crowd. I love the bottle and I love the black fluid. But the fragrance reminds me of another one and I can't seem to find out what exactly it is. Which is quite annoying. I think it suits Gaga's music though: not too complicated, cheerful and very noticeable. Lady Gaga herself is one of a kind, but I'm not convinced that her perfume is too. I don't think, however, that it makes me smell like an expensive hooker, as she put it, and I guess that's a good thing. But I'll put it to the test by wearing it for a few days, let's see what other people think of me smelling of Fame. If I come up with anything worth mentioning or if I find out what this fragrance reminds me of, I'll be back.

Well, now I see no point in expectations for a juice that would be as gorgeously paradoxical as she is. Guys, that's not a communion in a church. She shared her view on the way a good and attractive encounter or, a girl next block or, an interviewer would smell to uplift her and let them talk or have a cup of coffee to their mutual pleasure (if such an occurence at all may happen to any of us - to come Gaga across in this hurrying life).

I was suprised with this. I expected something heavy and very spicy,but Its sweet and creamy. Nice scent, bud lasting power on me is really bad, It was gone in 15 min. Bottle is nice, but to be honest, Its not worth for such a expensive price.

I think am getting to the point of this idea, imho.

To my mind, this perfume is just a sincere wish of normal, roundish and supple life for us, listeners and audience at her concerts. This is a scent of what a quiet and sweet life of a normal person should be, in contrast with what she presents of herself just now.

She says, hey girls, be nice, be pleasing to your closest ones. Why?

Dark accord means: girls, this is belladonna, which makes you feel pain-free (i will be saying the rest from a point of view of homeopathy), this is incense to feel a bit religiously enlightened just not to fear when situations of self-realization push yourself to a sense of being God-forgotten. For sure, that's nothing as long as you may detect some insense around and recall a chirch's atmopsphere where there's place for everybody who wishes to share the burden and obtain support and relief. So, dark accords give base and strength to move toward light.

Sensual accord: saffron - one of the most healing spices which may raise even a tuberculousis patient form hell of a disease, honey for a feeling of sweet bread for our minds when everything around is plastic and artificial, and apricot (i.e. prunus armeniaca, armenian plum, from a blessed land of Armenia, where Noah's Arc finally touched the ground after a 40-days' nightmare of flood), which gives a deliciouslness, earthyness and hints for fruitfulness of any effort taken with love and hope.

And finally, the lightest of accords - jasmine is one of the most powerful ingredients to cure depressive and destructive stances of soul. That's how I see it. The packaging and the entire visual concept is just Gaga's image, her art which lives for only one thing - to embrace, contain and reflect in all colors of the world the thankfulness and adoration of those whose image is in the substance of the bottle, that black dark hole that she sees in front of her stepping up on stage - it's a tribute not to Gaga, but to her audience.

Why then bother that this fragrance is boring and ordinary? This is us, when sniffed among the crowd, on the average, quality pleasant average. And I suspect, that if an artist feels anxiety or fear before the performance, this kind of aromatic mix from the audience would imho be able to calm down and caress even a severe neurotic.

The first time I saw this perfume and smelled it, I was not very hooked on it. I didn't think it was very special. Then I saw this in a tax free-shop, and they had free samples, so I got some and tried it on. I changed my mind immediately, it was a great scent actually. Really comforting, and somehow reminds me of my mom. It smells clean, floral, incense and a little bit fruity somehow. I have gotten many compliments already on this perfume! My friends begged to try this on, and they love it too. Even my sister bought this perfume, and my mom also loves it. I also like the fact that the liquid is black. The claw of the bottle is plastic on the 30-50 ml bottles, but metal on the 100 ml. I'm not a fan of the plastic claw on my bottle, but I guess I can stand it. It's a really good scent for being a celebrity perfume. I really dislike celebrity perfumes big time, but this is good.

First off, I will start by saying I am a huge little monster and I bought every product of this fragrance. But I will try not to be biased on this fragrance. I'll start with the packaging, the box is very simple and beautiful in its way, it shows the darkness of fame, which is what the fragrance is about. The description on the back is very creative and metaphoric. The bottle is a masterpiece with its black liquid sloshing around inside and it's shiny gold cap. The overall quality is somewhat surprising from a celebrity fragrance. But not at all surprising from Lady GaGa. On to the fragrance, it is just amazing. It is so unique but also appealing to seduction and all age groups and genders. Anyone can enjoy this fragrance, depending on your views of Lady GaGa. It is floral with a hint of fruit and honey. The Incense is very present and it gives the scent a great muskiness. I would recommend giving it a try!

Orchid, incense and belladonna? More like tinned fruit salad in syrup. The scent is at odds with the 'alien egg' bottle and the squid ink liquid. This should have been dryer, more mysterious, more Opium-like. Move along, nothing to see here.

Not a fan. I suppose I was expecting more from this considering who its by. Its sickly sweet, doesnt last long, very generic as far as celebrity fragrances go.

This fragrance is very cool. I feel though it has gotten a lot of criticism not for the fragrance, but because the scent is not as "wacky" and "crazy" as the name behind it. That said....

At first I wasn't impressed and thought the scent just smelled sweet and I expected the fragrance to be outlandish ( again because of the maker)and I disregarded it.

Then I received a sample and though I would try it on. Wow it's interesting and changed my mind. It smells like sweet honey, apricot and orchid at the same time. There is nothing overly obnoxious about the scent. I find it has a very slight sophisticated air about, but at the same time there is something slightly dark and alluring about it. It doesn't last particular long which is the drawback. This scent would be a great nighttime scent in the fall or winter for anyone 20+. Now I own a full bottle and can't wear enough. I grab for it quite often and it has a comfortable vibe about it that I like smelling. This scent goes great if you are wearing black. Give this a second shot.... you just may like it!

So I bought it on a whim and I was really, really curious about the black liquid (which, come to think of it now, is almost absolutely useless and gimmickal).
When you spray it, for the first second or two you can almost see the black liquid transforming. It's a very wearable floral and not at all tacky, but it does remind me of something else I used to have but can't remember what (or maybe a friend did, or my mom, I can't remember). Though I will say that this is one of the nicer celebrity perfumes, I find it almost a little too sweet and nice to make sense. I wish they would've added more incense and/or smoke, then it will more believable as Lady Gaga perfume. I wouldn't have been surprised if I smell someone wearing this and she claims it's a Taylor Swift perfume. I will wear this once I find something a bit deeper to layer it on with.

I wish all Gaga's haters would keep their comments to themselves. Why do people feel so compelled to negatively judge a fragrance, just because they dislike that particular celebrity? Many of these reviews are vague, and don't describe the scent itself at all.

Fame is really quite pleasant, just as I expected it would be. Musky incense, apricot and jasmine. Sweetness coming through from the honey. Moderate sillage (others in the room can smell I'm wearing it) but for an EDP, the longevity could be much better. Only around 2 hours before I'm having to re-spray.

All in all, it's light and non-offensive. Would be safe to purchase for somebody as a gift.

I'm not a big fan of gaga, and I do agree with people saying that it smells normal, but I love it, I just received it as a gift and it smells good, sure, like any other perfume, but good.

Well, I did smell it. It's a fad. People will consume it specially the younger generation since it's Lady Gaga's, personally speaking it smells like flesh. I was reading the reviews and then realized how long most of them are and the quantity is rather astonishing. I guess that's what she likes. Bad would have been if nobody had said anything. But we talk about it and that's the point.

Largely unimpressive; Fame should be called Tame - because thats exactly what it is. It opens with a sweet fruity grape apricot composition that quickly and quietly becomes a clean floral based almost entirely upon jasmin with just a touch of incense in the base. Its not at all unpleasant, but its definitely no ground breaker either. Its mediocre at best considering all things fragrance and somewhat predictably celebrity mass appealling and rather generic. Sillage and longevity are both rather poor. Nice gift perhaps since it wont offend anyone, but thats about it.

I just came from Macys and they have a set with the 3.4oz and the 1oz for the price of the 3.4oz! That's what I get for having to get it right when it came out! Dang it that's a deal!

First things first; I don't get why this is being described as a fruity/floral - FAME is definitely something that I would describe as a floriental fragrance. On me there is only the tiniest hint of apricot, but it so short lived that it doesn't really make an lasting impression on me. I think some people may be confusing the rich honey accord as apricot, grape or similar.

The belladonna and other florals develop almost as quickly as the honey on me, which evens out the sweet honey with the dark floral notes. FAME was a tricky perfume to review, as the floral center to it seems a bit different every time I wear it and try to jot a few thoughts on it down; sometimes it seems powdered, and sometimes everything seems spicier, thanks to the orchid. The listed belladonna, jasmine and orchid are the most developed floral notes but, overall, the floral heart to FAME is similar to Illamasqua Freak.

After about an hour or so a lingering sense of liquorice starts to carry through the floral notes, so maybe there's some anise in the mix too? Around this time the florals gradually deepen and become peppery, thanks to the saffron. As the floral notes gradually settle into the background a note of patchouli begins to develop, giving the fragrance a 'dirty' feel and enhancing the spicy notes. I'm not sure which individual spice notes are used in the incense accord, but FAME slowly becomes darker, and as the lingering honey fades, slightly smoky - some wood accords in here too?


Many people seem to be disappointed by how 'normal' FAME is, but you have to remember that it is one of Coty's celebrity ranges; it is in a lower price bracket and has to appeal to as many people, on a international scale, as possible. Baring these limitations in mind, I'm very happy with my bottle of FAME; it is a bit different from the usual celeb fragrance releases, but it is still easy to wear, with mass appeal.

This is not bad perfume, smelled it at Sephora's and it smelled like fruits like berry or blackberry or clemetine? apricot maybe? but for the mixture it fruits. I smell honey suckle forsure because I have about 40 plants in my flower garden and it smells real close to that...but it has a deep musk but in the women form not the musk like jovan..It okay nothing fantastic but the black liquid is disturbing...scared it will make my clothes black but it does not!!!! Right now I will pass because to me this is a waste of time and there are other perfumes that I like to try...$70 for this I will wait till it goes right to the discount perfume shop in my town...because this will be another one that ends up at Ross or Marshall's next season...

Never in my life have I EVER gotten creeped out by a fragrance but that's pretty much the feeling I got when I saw this perfume for the first time & the scent wasn't any better. Something about the incense note just ain't write :-

I never judge a perfume based on celebrity as I couldn't care less about any of them. Lady Gaga's music/style is not my bag but then neither is Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson and I like lot of their fragrances. So based on perfume only-it was a dissapointment for me. I think bottle is nice and very unique but scent itself is kind of average. I noticed several people saying it resembled grape kool aid and I can see why. Its rather fruity with some incense. Sounds intriguing but reality translates into mediocre. Its very soft scent and I could barely smell it-i tried it twice, once on my wrist and once on the strip and I could only smell it if I pressed my wrist to my nose(and if you look at reviews I am not the only person who thinks that). I guess I was expecting something a bit more bold and in your face since Lady Gaga style is so over the top.

The opening is a very overwhelming burst of incense and very sharp floral notes, incense being the most prominent. I'm not saying it smells horrible, but I don't particularly like the way incense smells, and the fact that it's so strong makes me dislike it. I don't like the dry-down either. I can't identify what it is, but it just doesn't smell pleasant to me. It's just not for me.

I bought a 50ml bottle to see what the hoopla was all about, I thought incense smell would make this perfume interesting. The way bottle looks (plus all the weird advertizement they put out on youtube), you expect perfume scent to be over the top, very "out there" and very tomboy-ish smell, but turns out, it's not like that at all, minus the incense part and it's very feminine.

I keep reading people saying it smells like grape koolaid, but I can't smell any. but I do smell apricot plus incense at first spray, then comes floral part with faint mix of incense scent. After about 4-5 hours I'm ended up with honey scent, when it's honey phase, sillage isn't very good, so have to be very close to where it was sprayed to get any scent.

I'm kind of glad that it isn't over the top scent, because I can use it daily without offending people near by me (although, I wish it would last little longer on my body than 4-5 hours), my signature scent was Royal Desire by Christia Aguilera, but Fame replaced that.

Maybe this whole Fame perfume concept is just like Gaga, it looks crazy and weird but that's just illusion and just for show, inside she's sweet and errrr... ordinary?

I am not kidding, I was nearly depressed from so much going on in my life that hurts me. However, I got this for my 3 yr wedding anniversary, ( not husband stress) as SOON AS I PUT IT ON I felt uplifted like I have never felt so quickly before. It is a little sweet, but the incense note takes over and saves it from smelling too fruity. The grape-juice small I read about is ridiculous! Smalls nothing like that. My fav smell was the soap, which is even more like apricots, so I guess I love apricots and honey. I find the perfume, however to have more of the warm spicy notes. It warms the skin and the soul. At first I thought it was too spicy, tbh, but then the mixture of all of the notes swooped in. I love it too, those two on make me feel like I am on top of the world, and very aroused sexually and mentally. Some great advice, get the soap and your bathroom will small amazing. So much so, that I put it on my nightstand while I sleep. No nightmares since, for someone who has them often. Thanks Gaga! When at home, use the soaps around the house ( hidden) and you won't need to spray the perfume while there! Save money and enjoy the fragrance.

Finally got it! This is a Divine smell... I think people who hated this perfume, personally coz they hate Gaga herself. So please, this in not Music Forum, this is Fragrance Forum, we talk about perfume, not the icon who created the perfume. You maybe hate Gaga, but it doesn't mean you should hate her perfume too! I found FAME as a lovely n pleasant sweet fruity perfume, nothing bad at all. Even though it's not as extreme or ecentric like Gaga, but as a perfume itself, this is something very WOW!!! and the longevity itself is good, i still smelled it on my wrist for couple hours since i sprayed.

Disappointed big time! I know this is supposed to change with individual chemistry, so hopefully it works for other people. I like the musk at first, reminded me of NR edt for Her, which is one of my favorites..I also like the rare tiger orchid note, but it disappears so fast..My skin just ate it right up..This is not worth the money to me..

I expected something more surprising, darker, more sensual, more provocative maybe. It's nice and sweet, but nothing special. It's weird : it reminds me of some old Yves Rocher edt I used when I was a young girl, it was Les folies des saisons. The bottle is very beautiful but I won't purchase it : this perfume is too expensive and not very original. Good lasting power.

weird perfume.. once sprayed it smells something like berries, plums, apricots and various fruits, really yummy and sweet! but then, after an hour it only smells of honey and wood. Not interesting :( and after a few hours its just gone.. no smell at all.. I am dissapointed

A synthetic strawberry-bubblegum scent and an awful black juice in an extraordinary bottle.

This...it actually had quite an 'interesting' smell to me. I just, wasn't sure, what was actually in it. Floral? Citrus? Sweet? Normally I can tell at least one of the top notes, the heart notes and base. But with this, I couldn't make it out, it confused my nose and senses. There was just too much all at once. I was in fact, hoping to like this- as I think the bottle is unique and its gimmick is the black colour of the perfume, which I think is very, very cool. Its dark and alluring, which I did not expect of Lady Gaga (then again, not a fan of hers, so I could be wrong). I also smelt it twice, on different occasions. The second time thinking maybe I was just wrong and would give it another shot. Tried it again in the shops, and had the same reaction. This is probably something just for the fans, but I'm not too fond of this perfume at all.

Oh look another generic Celebrity perfume! It's a nice fragrance don't get me wrong but it's a cop out! I was expecting something unique, dark, mysterious & sexy from Lady Gaga but this is every teen girl's dream 'cos it just smells like Britney's fantasy, Paris Hilton & every other pop princess scent imaginable.

Well..the bottle design and the color of the liquid are definately something different and unique,but the scent..not what I was expecting from Gaga.It's beautiful and smells nice but nothing special.I mean,when you see Lady Gaga you imagine of a strong,unique and mysterious smell,and this is anything like that.I'm not saying that it is not a good fragrance though:) by the way it's quite cheap and also the tattoos given with the perfume are cool;p

This fragrance is quite nice. On my skin it resembles Ricci Ricci, but not as intense or long lasting.

Whatever you do, make sure you spray it on your skin only, because the liquid loses its black color after a few seconds, so it might stain a fabric if it comes into direct contact with it.

Personally, I'm not really into sweet fruity fragrances any more, but in this case the quality-price ratio is reasonable.

I absolutelly adore this perfume. My new favorite. A couple of sprays lasts me the entire day, and honestly, it's addictive. It's very feminine and sophisticated. I could definately imagine Lady Gaga smelling like this.

As for the notes, they're pretty much spot on. It's quite sweet and a bit florally/ musky.

I just got a rollerball of this yesterday at a surprisingly good price for something with the Lady GaGa name branded to it. I don't see why this perfume is getting so much hate. It's a fruity-floral, no doubt, but it's not as generic as some might say. The apricot is gorgeous, and I'm in love with the belladonna and honey. I do understand where some people are getting the grape-juice-sugary vibe, but that part doesn't smell too overpowering for me. I haven't smelled anything like it before, which is strange, because when I smelled it on tester paper it seemed like a typical celebriscent. However, on my skin, it's completely different. Right now I'm kind of wishing I bought a bottle instead of a rollerball. And did I mention that the design of the bottle is one of my favourites, ever? 10/10, Mother Monster.

Edit: I'm currently hanging out with a few guy friends and they all think it smells "really good," with one of them being my boyfriend. Of course, they can't name the notes they smell, but today I smell a bit more apricot than I did yesterday. And apricot means gooooood.

Well, I don't listen to music like Lady Gaga's, but she does have her crazy artist-style, which has humor in it, and she is talented in music obviously.

I was given some tester sprays today and I tested Fame on my skin.I did not expect much, so I was positively surprised that I actually like it - as much as I can like an oriental floral scent. I could wear this, but only in the evening.
I like the first notes more than the drydown.

I think this fragrance has character, it reminds me of some of the popular oriental-floral scents in the late 80's.

I just bought it yesterday, and when i spray like 3 times on my neckle first time, its like discusting flower, like dead flowers whit honey drops..

And i gave a second shot, i was waiting and 1 hour later it smell very nice vanilla and half an hour later i smell very very nice, gentle flowers

i really have a doubt am i crazy or what.. But it is really non-stop changing perfume i ve ever seen..

This change and the dark color are special about perfume.

And on its box you see gold perfume silhouette but when you upside down the box it is baphomet head.
And bottles top when you open it you ll see it is just like a claw which is lady gagas signature claw ..

Esse perfume é um fiasco!!!!Eu esperava um perfume explosivo, talvez controverso tipo ame ou odeie...mas nem amo e nem odeio, é entediante de tão chato!!! Dinheiro jogado no lixo mas vou usar para dormir e gastar o mais rápido possivel...O preço que paguei não justifica o perfume que para mim não é sofisticado muito menos é de luxo.
Gaga errou feio com esse perfume de quinta talvez de sétima ou décima categoria...

This is a commercial version of Womanity by Thierry Muegler. Take the fig off, add on some peach. It's a watered down, fruitied up, more wearable version of Womanity. Gaga behind it, I thought it would be very much of a "love it or hate it" scent, but I don't love it nor hate it. Like Womanity, it's a bit vulgar, but it's definitely not an unpleasant smell. I think it's selling like hot cakes over here in the UK.

I'm neither a fan nor a basher of Gaga. I see her as a boho performance artist who , somewhat against the odds (because of her unusual looks and persona), has made it into the public eye. While she does risk overexposure, I've found some of her OTT avant-garde outfits and posturing reasonably entertaining at times, although her variety of commercial pop is not my thing.

A while ago I was in a department store and noticed the striking bottle. I recall some description of essence of blood and semen or something - at least an original way of trying to market a perfume, right? So I was curious. And I sprayed my wrist.

UGH. First of all, this stuff made me feel sick. I have just commented on Eternity, which I enjoy, but it seems it can commonly give people a headache. I've scanned through the comments here and although I notice a lot of disses, am not noticing many saying it turned their stomach, and perhaps I am sensitive. But I thought the smell was extremely sickly in a literal sense.

Besides that, I too was surprised and a bit disappointed that the fragrance itself was also such a non-event. I found it revoltingly sweet. I can't comment on anything but the top notes, because it nauseated me so much I had to try and scrub it off my wrist, at which point I felt better.

I don't think I specific expectations one way or another, but I suppose it's fair to say that I was surprised it would be SO sweet after the proto-goth marketing. Not dark, not complex, not edgy. Something that might be in a hot pink plastic bottle marketed towards tweens, you know? People are mentioning "koolaid" and that seems fair enough. It's not the heady kind of sweetness. Not adult, and not sexy. About as far from a dilated pupil (not to mention other things) as you can get, I'd have thought.

The black (grey) liquid is mildly interesting but nowhere near enough to make up for how underwhelming the actual fragrance is. I don't usually smell celebrity scents and am not sure I would associate Coty with quality fragrance. (Not being a snob, but just saying.) It does seem like some here are confused by this disconnect between the marketing imagery and the fragrance itself. Sure, it's a mass-market product, but people may have expected something more original from Gaga specifically vs other celebs, if not from her image alone, then certainly from the ad campaign for the fume. I wouldn't really care personally if it was a bit generic, but I couldn't enjoy it.

Smells like a cheap perfume! Not good, I can smell some flowers. The different part is, perfume is black. But it isn't enough for buying or using it. Sorry GAGA!

There was something in this that reminded me of Dior's Poison. It is softer than Poison, but there are similarities. If Poison is too much for you, try this!

I tested Fame today and at first all i got was alcohol, after a while it smelled like a weak version of Diesel's loverdose. after an hour it smelled like something burnt, i guess that would be the incense.

I want to like it but i don't. I expected more of this fragrance!

my opinion isn't based on this being a celeb fragrance or not. it's solely my experience with this fume and as far as i'm concerned it could be nameless juice-i know what my nose tells me and what i experienced. unbiased and not partial or prejudiced in any way...here goes: my friend which i work closely beside 5 days out of the week wears this but i only know this because she TOLD me and had me smell her wrist approximately one hour after applying. no lie, i had to mash my nose on her wrist to get wind of it. what i smelled wasn't horrible but barely detectable and forgettable and throughout the day there wasn't one instance that she breezed past me and i got a whiff! that saddens me because us perfumistas spend our hard earned money on fumes expecting them to be somewhat noticeable, not mushroom cloud noticeable but noticeable none the less! i feel cheated when i spend $$ on perfume, am all excited to wear it, and don't get at least ONE honorable mention from someone that i smell good! look at my scent wardrobe you will see that it's quite diverse and i own some celeb fragrances but i'm learning my lesson that celeb fragrances have very little sillage and are short lived. i'm sticking with the more designer fumes my nina ricci's, D&G's, doir's, ralph lauren's etc from now on because i have had good luck with them. happy sniffing =)

This is very pleasant, yet not unique in any way. Something I want eventually, but want to use up some of my other perfumes first. I love the bottle, the smell is special and long lasting. My boyfriend loves it on me.

@Annica: Exactly. It's a nice, pleasant scent. Nothing more and nothing less. Nothing special but not bad anyway (in case you like those sweet, fruity notes, of course).

I cannot understand why everyone is so disappointed. It's a celebrity fragrance and I have smelled far worse ones but it's all up to my own taste. And for a celebrity fragrance it may not have the special twist in the scent but the bottle and the idea of black liquid is gorgeous. It's affordable and just nice.

I get a feeling everyone expected a super-duper-brand-new-special fragrance for 5 $ for 100 ml?!

It's my first celebrity fragrance and I do not regret having bought it. I like to wear it but do not love it enough to wear it at special occasions.

Simple as that it's all about your own personal taste. I would never ever spent a cent on Chanel No. 5 simply because I find it disgusting. But that doesn't mean it's bad at all so I think it would be rather helpful to describe the scent and if/why you like it or not and not judge it for price or other reasons. If there's a market you can sell anything to any price...

Why has Fame got so many dislikes? It is not extreme in any way, but simply a nice, well balanced and quite subtle scent. Good work Gaga.

There is a noticeably different tone and attitude in reviews between these celebrity ones and the designer and niche ones and any other category I see Bath and Body Works gets a bashing too and of late Marc Jacobs little Lady Bug "Dot" is being bullied. You can keep saying people are not celebrity bashing but it is obvious it is a precurser to most reviews the opinion of the reviewer on the subject of the celebrity and the quality of the product and then the bottle because it is a celebrity/Coty collaboration etc blah blah but it is not as noticeable with the designer perfumes. It is happening and it is annoying.

I suspect it is more a case of these reviewers trying to come across as the authority on a particular style of perfume in conjunction with the fact that they are just bored with perfumes as they have been buying them for a while and want something they haven't smelled before but they make the crucial mistake of going to the department stores or drugstores etc to have a better perfume experience and as though to add fuel to the fire they test the celebrity ones which it is obvious these perfumes smell alike are a certain price and ideally aim to the fans of the celebrity. For a bit of light hearted fun you can get Rihanna's perfume if you like her it is another thing associated with her you can buy, it is nothing groundbreaking it is a pleasant smell either buy it or don't simple it is not trying to revolutionise all of man kind.

The stores and the public could care less of these reviewers all assuming opinion they continue to stock these products which these reviewers refer to as "mediocre" so mediocre that they continue to stock them and the public continues to buy them all the while unaware of the reviewer's opinion on this site which makes all their ramblings they like to put on here go by unnoticed by the very people whom they are having a dig at disguised as an "honest" review. That makes the reviewer mediocre not the perfume.

In voicing their opinion instead of describing the smell and whether they would consider wearing it they launch into the technicalities of what a perfume should be even though they have missed the boat altogether of what perfume is all about and make black and white statements as though they are the authority on perfume here to enlighten us even though they have never constructed a perfume in their life,that's because nobody knows who they are unlike the celebrity they are having a winge about, they have never met the clebrity or know them from a bar of soap but they can enlighten us about them too and never worked for Coty but can give us a lesson about them too. Then tell us how we are blindly following all the hype and being hoodwinked by the advertising when it is themselves who fell for the advertising and felt the need to get on here and blame that for their missguided search for an interesting perfume.
All this coming from people who fancy themselves as the experts on perfume testing and construction. So expert that they are looking in all the wrong places for the perfume that will suit them because they don't really know what they are talking about otherwise they wouldn't lurk around the celeb perfumes or department store perfumes and then complain it wasn't anything "groundbreaking". What is that smell exactly? I wish they would enlighten everyone on that because I don't think I have ever come across it personally. It doesn't exist that might be why, perfume is liked and disliked in many different ways there is no right or wrong perfume and if they really knew what they were talking about they would know this and close their clap traps.

No thankyou:) Just tell me what the perfume smells like I will make up my own mind if it is overpriced or over advertised or the bottle is tacky and all the other stuff that has nothing to do with the smell that finds it's way into these experts reviews.

If I do a review I try not to mention the celebrtiy in a offensive or useless manner I only try to describe the smell for my experience with it and if I would even consider buying it. I don't mind the perfumes that are out there that smell all very similar because often I can find something I like about them but I don't go to the celebrity scents expecting a mind blowing experience and then complain about it and in a manner that is suggesting that your opinion is the difinitive answer. It aint!!

i bought myself lady gaga fame after trying it at Myer as i wasn't quite sure if i liked or not yet i only bought a small 30ml bottle i really really do like lady gaga fame its a wonderful fragrance its sweet not candy sweet but think honey note sweet to be honest i really wasn't expecting gaga to make a fragrance like this i thought she mite make something unique mysterious and strong like Dior midnight poison but im so glad she didn't i love the whole idea with the perfume liquid being black but clear on your skin and the bottle what can i say it truly represents lady gaga herself i actually quite like the fragrance and i will repurchase it again when my one runs out

Just updating that i ended up selling my bottle to a friend.

Why ? I wanted to like the frag as i was sucked in by the bottle ( I love a nice bottle + im a fan of dark , gothic things) and dark images in the ads. After owning the scent for 2 weeks though i started to feel annoyed that i had bought it. It is not worth the £20 something ££s i paid. I have Avon and drugstore fruity perfumes that are more complex and long lasting.

To all those complaining about the negative reviews , look , the people giving fame a negative ( who may or may not own other celeb frags) are not bashing Gaga or celeb fumes for the sake of it .......They are bashing because they feel cheated , let down and lied to by the marketing hype. As Nopasho said - push pull tech - LIE !! Tears of belladonna - LIE !! Made in the haus labs paris - ANOTHER BIG FAT LIE - ITS MADE BY COTY !!

And the incense n saffron are barely discernable. It is also NO oriental floral , it should be reclassified as a Fruity floral .

It is not a "Dark" or "revolutionary" frag as we were led to belive .............we are been taken for MUGS and IDIOTS !! I dont like been taken for a fool , which is why i sold it on and recouped some of the money i had spent.

Yes i own some other celeb frags , No i am not a "frag basher" or " celeb basher" ...........But those other celeb fumes i own were not sold to me on a big bubble of hype and lies , they are not pretending to be something there not! I enjoy wearing brit spears believe and beyonces pulse very much - In these cases the frag fits the advertising and they are what they are - sweet , affordable , fun perfumes - they are NOT masquerading as " huge orientals" or " modern masterpieces" .

I don't know if I was hungry when I tried this but it smelled like bacon...

I dropped by Sephora at Singapore since it was launched here just two days ago. Presale, however, started the day before; something nobody was notified about other than the Sephora staff. I have had it on for 4 days straight and my opinion on it changes again and again.

So, my first reaction from spraying on my neck and wrists. It started as a sticky, sweet and 'a little slutty' smell that Gaga has promised. Somewhat generic, a little mediocre, but definitely worth noticing. This note is dominated by apricot, with a little jasmine and honey. It has a depth that gives a whole grown-up feel to it; so definitely it was not something that her teen audience age group would be going crazy, unlike the basic mediocre fruity scents in Someday and Girlfriend that would better suit young people and helping them fit into the social circle they've been outclassed from.

Around 30 minutes later, the smell of incense started kicking in, personally the note I find most pleasing. A touch of musky orient to the otherwise sweet and floral fragrance. I personally find oriental/woody scents more soothing. On top of the incense scent there's a little tiger orchid and saffron that I can only pick up every once in a while, since I'm not particularly good with my nose.

In about an hour's time, the scent changes back to that honey note that we all remember it for. Personally not what I'm after, so spraying on more FAME to get back the incense and apricot would become the ritual for me.

Now, many people would be a little disappointed in Fame. The scent is a little tame despite the large amount of money put into marketing strategies and advertising. The simple floral fragrance seems to be trying a little too hard to please the masses. What we were all expecting from someone as eccentric as Gaga was an over-bearing, impractical, edgy and exotic scent from fruits coming from places nobody has heard before.

But as if she could please some people from being avant-garde in the first place. Poor girl needs to start pleasing just herself and her little monsters.

From a neutral perspective, to be honest, even I was a little dissatisfied myself; I would want a scent that few people would love, maybe something I can even scare my friends away with. And yet it turned out to be a scent my friends are comfortable with. But I wasn't exactly completely disappointed by that.

But as her fan I'm more than willing to support her as she progresses from one crazy idea to the next. FAME is something that has been well-anticipated within the Little Monsters community following her absence from the media, her aggressive touring, touring controversies, having not released any singles in nearly a year up to now and 6 months more from now on. It's great to get updated on what Gaga has been up to and personally experience what she has been working on.

The key to enjoying this fragrance; really, is to simply indulge in it; isolate it from comparison with any other fragrances, and pretend you're a fucking superstar. That's just about it. After all, she did only decide to release it because the fragrance has successfully brought her a man to bed. It may or may not do the same for you, so well, you're just going to have to try it for yourself!

If you're about to bash on FAME because apparently 'Gaga's big nose isn't good for smelling' then well at least she's trying. Whether or not the push-pull technology is really in place or if belladonna was really in the concoction is highly debatable among those who are really looking into the technicality of the fragrance. This is something she likes and she's hoping that her monsters will like it too.

And for all you know, Gaga can come up with a sophomore fragrance that is edgy and out of this world but the sceptics will still dislike it because she's gotten popular because of her singing, songwriting and fashion choices instead of picking out a good fragrance. These are people who would rather buy bottled urine labelled Burberry. So if you're thinking Gaga's advertising has blinded everyone and branding didn't, then be my guest and carry on drenching yourself in coloured liquids from fancy-looking undersized bottles with pretty labels and prettier price tags.

So this is just my opinion on the fragrance. To convince yourself you're going to have to spray it yourself; the fragrance Gaga designed for her little monsters; not to the critics. And as Gaga has mentioned about ARTPOP, if you don't like it,

I love this perfume Ive had it for a few weeks now and it smells different each time i put it on. Today it smelled like fairyfloss and honey.

Smells nice but not exactly a masterpiece. Something suspicious must be happening with my nose though because I smell bacon. Maple Cured Bacon. Not trying to be funny but I really smell it. My sis agrees.

Just wanna share something :) - Smaller bottles, the less expensive version, come with plastic caps while the more pricey version, Le Masterpiece, comes with solid metal caps. It’s meant to be that way. If what you tried is from a smaller bottle, it is reasonable for the cap to feel plastic. :)

I own Le Masterpiece and the claw cap definitely doesnt feel plastic at all. It is heavy since it's made of metal.

A word of warning to those who are new to this site.
I really couldn't be bothered saying this but I think some of us end up doing so because we are tired of every single celebrity review section being bogged down by people just blowing their trumpet about their dislike of celebrity perfumes rather than reviewing the perfume in an honest manner to actually help those who are genuinely interested.

I doubt some people have even tested it properly they just noticed it was a celebrity perfume so let's get on here and winge about it. A lot of people on here are commenting that it smells too "sweet" or "mediocre". Some of these people have in their "love" or " I want" sectionof their perfume wardrobe celebrity perfumes which are just as sweet if not sweeter and some which are very linear perfumes and yet they are the same people who claim this perfume is "too sweet" or "too plain". There are others who have some designer perfumes and niche ones but not one celebrity perfume but they jump on here and complain that they didn't expect much because it is a celeb perfume. Well obviously you don't like those so why are you bothering? celebrity market was never for them and probably never will be because they consider themselves above what they label the celebrity perfume market as "mass market" so why are they bothering.

Some of these people spend a fortune on a perfume because they have been lead to believe it is "niche" or it is a well known designer so they spend their money on something designer just for the name when in actual fact a celebrity might have made a perfume that smells almost identical but they won't buy that because it is not "niche" or "designer" or "art". They probably smell the perfume and think that's nice but read the label and see it is Kim Kardashian or Gaga and suddenly oh no I don't like that it is too "mass market" Are these people not part of the "mass market?" Are they privy to something the rest of us are not? Yeah snobbery I would suspect. When they buy their groceries they don't go to a niche place or their toothpaste isn't niche brand or designer brand it is you guessed it "mass market" These people would somehow manage to argue that the toothpaste they use or dunny paper they use is somehow better than all us lowely plebs who are part of the dredded "mass market" are using.

No we just don't get hoodwinked by drugged out designers who claim to be bottling "niche" product and calling it "art" when it is all chemicals just like all the others. They don't care about you or your perfume experience they just want to make money at least the mass market products don't hide this fact they are there to make money you either pay or go away. When it comes to perfume like driving a car people just change and have this black and white view of the perfume industry. These people are probably really nice people but put them behind the wheel of a car or smelling a perfume and they change.

However, they can't get enough of Lady Million which to me has the honeyed sweetness and florals mixed together that Gaga's perfume has. What's the difference? One is a celeb designer and one isn't. The same with Very Hollywood they rave about that but hate Kim Kardashian's first perfume which is strikingly similar but she is a celeb and a very disliked one going by this site.I am not sure why as none of us know her in person but so many have a black and white opinion of her and love reminding all of us as their standard intro to every review they do.

I have had people ask me if I am wearing Very Hollywood and I have had to say no it is Kim Kardashian's perfume and their faces wrinkle up they were all positive until I mentioned her name it is quite strange.

There is a reason something is mass market because it is most liked!! Most people in a given range like it so that says something. Sometimes perfumes are niche because they are not liked by many people or the designer knows most people won't like it so they try to pass it off as "art" or whatever dribble they come up with and not only do they talk dribble we then have all these little "art" experts getting on here repeating the same dribble and not much review of the actual perfume for those of us who are trying to read what it smells like.

People complain "oh nothing that isn't already out now" well derrr. It is a fashion at the moment in perfume to smell very sweet so obviously most perfumes that want to actually sell will have a very similar style and smell. It is not a crime it doesn't make the perfume rubbish. A lot of you wear skinny leg jeans in different styles you don't say oh I won't wear that because it is nothing that isn't already out now. You wear it because it is a style and fashion that is popular and selling well at the moment. The same for perfume they follow styles and fashions. If you don't like them you probably are not keen on that style at the moment, fine then wear the perfumes you do like but don't get on here talking trash about perfumes for the sake of it.

Lady Gaga's perfume is sweet and it starts off reminding me of Beyonce's Heat and Halle Berry's Reveal a little of Lady Million etc. So that is not a crime. So if you like apricots or a syrupy honey smell give this a test because it does settle down quite quickly but I would be lying if I said it isn't sweet it is it certainly isn't a dry woody perfume and it is not spicey right from the start. I like it and found it lasted quite well. I didn't have any problem with the black liquid. The way people carry on you would think it comes out like black ink from a pen or texta but it is very watered down. As people have commented the lid is plastic but so are most perfumes so what. The bottle suits Lady Gaga and her fashions. The smell I don't think is a crime it might be that she actually likes sweet perfumes not something like Angel or Womanity. I know she has said she likes Womanity but she might like a range of pefumes, what is the crime in that.

I was not disappointed at all. The bottle is to be expected because it is the shock horror mass market approachso it has to be affordible but it is not horrible and it suits her she is not trying to be anything other than herself. I am happy with her first pefume and I think it is very pretty and could actually be worn by anyone at any age without smelling like cupcakes or a vat of sugar. Even men can wear it my husband put a little bit on his wrist he actually follows Gaga more than I do so he was eager to smell it. When he was walking around the shopping centre I could smell it and it was nice it didn't smell too feminine. The price was not too bad I was under the impression it was going to be super expensive but it was ok here in Australia.

I would buy it but I have recently got quite a few so I will have to wait a little while. I didn't expect to see it in the store as Australia can take ages to get things that everyone else has had for ages so it caught me by surprisebut I have sprayed it quite a few times now. I wasn't planning on spending money on a pefume but I will get it soon because I love anything which has a strong sweet honey smell I don't have a lot of perfumes like that so it will be a nice addition. I like the bottle too.

smelled it the other day and i think it smelled like a thick syrup, not that it's horrible or anything but it doesn't give off any 'dark' vibe. Smells nice actually, but not that exact image of what I had in mind.

I smelled it at Seph & more like a cheap grape. Fruity, not floral. Bottle i saw on display was uber C H E A P too. Shame shame

This perfume smells like honey and grape bubble gum and it doesn't match the bottle or the liquid's color at all. When will I finally learn not to expect much from celebrity perfumes? It's not ugly by any means, but nothing I would like to use, just another sweet and cheap smelling celebrity fragrance out there. It isn't that long lasting and I find it quite flat. I would probably love it if I was a teenager and had no idea that more interesting and complex perfumes exist.

I think Gaga lost her fantasy .. At last .

I personally observe that the reason behind the large no of negative reviews and 'dislikes' is this - people are not comfortable that the FAME fragrance, a generally pleasant sweet floral one, is not totally inline with the image of Lady Gaga, her messages and her music which largely revolve around mystery, being edgy and unique.

But does that mean that the scent is not good? No. It just doesnt match her image that's all. Come on, see it as a fragrance as it is.

I've gotta be honest here. At least on MY skin, this frag is really something amazing. It starts off all fruity tooty and generic, yes, perhaps. But then after about an hour I get such a different feel. It's sort of a haunting, honeyed floral with an apricot overtone. I think it's fantastic. I really do. I know everybody is hating on this, but I think if it wasn't Lady Gaga, it might get better reviews. I bought a rollerball and I think it's the perfect size for me. Makes me feel very sexy. I don't really think that it's that generic overall. Maybe for Lady Gaga, yes, but I'm sure she was trying to appeal to the masses as much as possible while still trying to make it at least a smidgen unique. I think for what she was trying to do, she succeeded.

Nothing special. It didn't live up to the hype. The bottle is amazing and so is the black colour but that's pretty much it. Another boring, generic celebrity scent is not what I've expected from Gaga. It's just meh. It could've been worse, it could've been SO much better.

Absolutely nothing special.

The FAME fragrance starts with a burst of a beautiful fusion of fruity, floral and sweet notes. I personally feel that the blend is seamless, merging together so well that the result is a very pleasant scent. I am not a big fan of sweet scent. but this sweet scent has gotten my eyes light up. It is definitely not cloying like other celebrity scents.
Not sure if my nose is kidding me but i sorta smelled traces of blood, smells fishy. This could be self-fulfilling prophecy. Not sure at all.

The drydown is a close to skin scent that has a pleasant sweet powdery trail.

With regards to sillage and lasting power, both are not fantastic. Or perhaps I just need more time to figure out how to make the scent work for me. Till then, let's see how it goes.

This scent is pleasant and wearable for all occasions, definitely not overly teeny. i can imagine a polished lady wearing it.

I also understand the discussion about how the scent falls into 'the typical celeb scent' category as it is sweet and it doesnt really match the edgy image portrayed by Lady Gaga as a celebrity.
My guess would be...perhaps being her first attempt, she aimed to cater to the mass market and thus came up with something that is wearable for all first. The strategy of coming up with a generally pleasant perfume may help her capture more buyers -besides buyers who are fans, there may be buyers who are non-fans, but enjoy her perfume since it is generally pleasant.
On the contrary, if she comes up with something very edgy and dark that isnt for everyone, majority of those who buy would prolly be just ans. That way, it is hard to reach the non-fans.

All in all, although the image that the scent projects isnt very compatible with the image of Lady Gaga the creator, as a perfume it is no doubt a pleasant one.

I got this today and I just sprayed on FAME on myself. I have to say the initial spray smells like Heat by Beyonce. But it eventually flows into the originality of FAME. It's a fruity floral scent. I get the Apricot smell (which is why it smells similar to Heat) first, then I get the jasmine scent. I don't really notice any other floral notes... I do get the incense note, but it's not the scent of incense. It's more like the incense making the sweet notes musky, that kind of Incense. And the Honey finally shows up when it dries down. Overall I'd give FAME a 9/10. Not what I expected from Lady Gaga, but it's a celebrity scent after all. Longevity is about 5-6 hours on me. Do I/Will I recommend it to my friends, I don't see why not. It's an amazing perfume which everyone will like. Can a guy pull this off? I don't see why not. It's not super feminine. I'm a guy and I love this perfume. So yeah, do give it a shot at your departmental stores.

Bottle looks interesting, but the claw like cap is disappointingly,'plasticky' and cheap... tried the scent on a test strip, It was pleasant but lacked the wow factor,I kept the strip in my bra all day to warm next to my skin, kept smelling it from time to time and loved the honey and peachy elements, was intrigued by a warm honeyed fragrance that was also fresh for day wear,decided to buy it just to use an an everyday fragrance,as I said it didn't stand out but was pleasant and modern ,fine for work and babycare... it was OK when I first sprayed it on though it didn't last long ,but after the dry down it smelled 'dirty' on me, unpleasant,almost coppery! guess it just does not suit my body chemistry at all. I gave it to my teenage daughter,such a shame as I liked the idea of the frag but it just didn't work for me.

I think most of the "Dislike" voters actually either dislike Gaga herself OR are just feeling disappointed. Yeah, I'm also disappointed, but I still gave it a "Like". At first slightly sweet (honey) and floral, the incense coming through later - it's an average perfume, so I don't believe anyone could really HATE it. It's nothing special, but not terrible either. No, I wouldn't buy this myself, but only because it's not as unique as I hoped it would be.
The lasting power is quite weak, 2 hours tops, and the perfume sits very close to skin. It's easy to wear, so I could easily imagine people wearing this daily.

Sweet, pleasant, wearable, appealing. Lovely bottle, intriguing liquid. I'd say yes!

The sweetness combines honey which is toned down (and tamed) by some delicate and fresh (to my nose un-detectable) flowery notes and perhaps some berries along with a tiny bit of peach. Could remind you lollipops or Loverdose or one of the over the top Gallianos, but... It remains more "down to earth" kind of scent, so as it turns out Fame is not the twisted, over the top and loud, but actually the polite one. :)

I think some of the bad reviews for this one are unfair. I'm not Lady GaGa fan but I smelled this at the mall and it was REALLY nice. Yes, it was generic, and is obviously aimed at the mainstream, but as far as celeb fruity florals go this was really delicious and nice. My friend and I couldn't stop smelling it. And I love the bottle design and black liquid, even though she isn't the first person to make her perfume black.

I tested this today when I was at Macy's. I Love Lady Gaga's music so I had to try this curiousity was definitely there. This is not something that I would expect from her knowing how eccentric and extravangant she can be. This is a light, sweet, powdery, flowery frangrance. I picture Lady Gaga falling in love and being in a happy place when I smell this. This juice is not controversial or noir in my opinion. It does have a good staying power I smell its sweetness after 6 hours on my skin. I Liked it, I would not say I Loved this it is very safe. I would wear this to work or office, but too light for evening wear. I am thinking Gaga was channeling more Britney Spears, upbeat and happy and everyone can wear it without being offensive to the person next you. For the record in my opinion this smells more complex and well balanced than Madonna's truth or dare which was just an explosion of old lady Tuberose. Mind you I Love Madonna just as much as Gaga.

The bottle looks like if it was hand made by the devil with lack demon poison in it!!! Ugly bottle, and boring typical celebrity scent.

I read the reviews here - a mixed bag! - and decided to try for myself.

This is a perfume I am definitely going to have to revisit because it had such an unusual ... outcome.

I was impressed with the tester; displayed upside down and you can see the juice is black, not the bottle. I sprayed it on my skin but missed the inner wrist and ended up closer to my inner elbow.

The first and biggest thing I noticed about this perfume is THAT I COULD NOT SMELL ANY TOP NOTES! None at all. When it warmed to my skin and I sniffed hard I had a faint whiff of something musky? Floral? Hard to tell.

Disappointed, I went about my business. Some time later, sitting with a group of older gentlemen I shifted position and had a very strong scent of something ... almost masculine? Spicey. Sharp. Very pleasant. Was it me? Was it one of them? They are quite well known to me and none of them ever smell like this!

I forgot about it after that, and it was the last I smelled of it for the day.

So, definitely one I will have to revisit to see if I can get a different perspective. This time, I'll keep away from the gents!

I was expecting something bold and in your face, but this is actually really wearable. The scent stays close to my skin which makes it an ideal day to day perfume. On first spray I get fruity apricot and smoky incense, these dry down to leave a sweet slightly floral scent (honey, orchid and jasmine), but it's not tweeny sweet, I find it more grown-up sweet, maybe the incense notes still linger somewhere on my skin to tone it down a bit. The drydown kind of reminds me a little of Katy Perry's Purr - so maybe not a truly original scent, but I still like it. The black fluid technology is pretty cool and I also really like the bottle - looks a bit like something you would find in an old apothecary shop.

After seeing so many reviews and so many ads for this perfume. Its in my face all the time lol. I will have to try it out, the idea of the black liquid has me intrigued as well.

So even the beast from Beauty and The Beast had his soft side, and so does Lady Gaga. Who knew? I was hoping so bad to smell her dark side with sperm like she announced once, maybe for her next fragrance because this one it is just red ridding hood in the woods.

Many people were probably expecting this perfume to be mind blowing crazy and shocking, shocking like Gaga herself is. But the thing is, this perfume has already pushed boundaries and brought something new to the worlde of perfume. The black liquid turns invisible as soon as it comes out of the bottle. No other perfume out there can do this and it took some clever perfume makers to accomplish that.

The scent is not so shocking. But it is very wearable and smells lovely. A bit sweet and floral but in a dark way. It fits just nicely on my vanity table with the other floral perfumes.

And the bottle... gorgeous. I really love the design! So simple and trés sexy.

Not quite sure why people are getting so aggressive about a perfume....and can't actually read many reviews that are about lady gaga not the perfume. Pretty much every review I read talks about the NOTES in the perfume. Anyways nice perfume, not great, found it to be quite sweet on my skin. Would smell nice on lotsa people I reckon. Easy seller

I'm pretty sure there's more intelligence in a Kindergarten class, than what is demonstrated by some of these reviews. You people are being harsh on this fragrance simply because of the name attached.

The fragrance industry revolves around names. Dior could smell like shit and Gucci could smell like vomit, but it's still good because it's Dior and Gucci. However, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears could be bottled heaven and no one would care. Learn how to be objective when providing "reviews".

With that being addressed, this perfume is quite good. It's unlike anything I've ever smelled, and it's a pleasant surprise. At the front end, it's a nice, pleasant, light floral mist that quickly becomes a creamy, dark aura. It's beautiful and commanding, without being heavy or overpowering.

I could care less about the advertising or the list of notes. It's the beauty industry, people. It's all about fancy words and shimmering labels to influence you to buy the product. So stop complaining about the extravagance of the promotion. What in the world do you expect?

To be objective, this fragrance is quite a charming surprise for me. I expected a heavy, more caustic version of Dior's Poison. I wear this fragrance all the time, and I get SO MANY compliments. It's unique, without being flat-out weird.

Go buy this one, and stop turning your nose up.

We all know it and this proves it once again: the least money for a celeb scent goes to the fragrance itself. The most money to the pr, the vidclips, the ads in glossy mags, the packaging and the mere cents that are left over are for a meh frag. But sold at celeb prices.

Never thought I'll say they but I start to get a bit of respect for Britney and Jessica. I don't like 'Fantasy' and 'Fancy' but at least they has longevity and a bit originality. And it doesn’t pretend to be more than it is :a sugary fragrance, no great ‘Perfume Art’ like Lady Gaga crows. ‘Fantasy’ and ‘Fancy’ are vanilla milkshake fragrances and not pretending being anything more. ‘Fame’ is a weak fruit floral but pretending to be a fantastic true classic perfume. Come on! Shocking, revolutionary, push pull technique, semen and blood, smelling like an expensive hooker… Nope. Nada. Zilch. Hot Air.

Let's look at the notes. I'll just name them in normal language not in pretentious 'arty farty' Gaga-speak, like ‘Tears of Belladonna’, ‘Black Veil of Incense', 'Crushed apricot,' drops of honey'... (not simple honey, but 'drops of honey', does that smell different?)...

OK. The fragrance notes of ‘Fame’, please! ‘Lady’ Stefani ‘Gaga’ Germanotta says that her revolutionary concept has no real fragrance pyramid. Because of the revolutionary 'push pull technique'. Which simply doens't exist. It is a Gaga-fantasy. Like the so called makers of this frag: 'Das Haus House Paris'. Fantasy or lies, you choose. Anyway 'Fame' is made by perfume giant Coty. Yet before launch she sent pr to the trade press in which she said that there was a fragrance pyramid. Several Fragranticians who work in the perfume business have, before me, described that fragrance pyramid of ‘Fame’ is. This is a simple fruity floral with a simple pyramid. Here it is as described also by some knowledgeable Fragranticians:

Top: Belladonna, Apricot, Saffron.
Middle: Orchid, jasmine
Base: Incense, Honey.

First of all, everybody has to agree: stripped bare of pr babble, smokescreens of verbal ballyhoo and ad campaigns, as a fragrance this is a simple, anorexic, fruity floral hyped into stupidity. Initial reports said: there would be blood, semen… in Gaga’s ‘shocking, earth shattering revolutionary out of this world, incredibly fantastic groundbreaking,jaw dropping' fragrance. Now what do we, paying customers, ultimately get? Apricot, orchid and jasmine! With sugar called ‘honey’. Can you believe that? There is one ‘special note on paper: the ‘Belladonna’-note. Which is a bogus, false note listed just for shock effect Gaga-style. (see later). Secondly the notes that could make this a bit different from your zillionth fruity floral could be interesting in the fragrance –saffron and incense- well, you don't smell at all. I only get a whiff of incense and a suspicion of saffron.

OK: the much hyped Belladonna. 'Belladonna' is a poisonous plant that is also dubbed 'Deadly Nightshade'. It has been used throughout history as both an anesthetic, a beauty product and a poison. One leaf of belladonna can kill an adult. Diluted belladonna was used centuries ago as a crude 'beauty product' because It can dilute the pupils, like those of a junkie. That gives the woman/man an 'doe eyed'-look, which, countless scientific studies have showed, arouses men when they see it. Like when they see cleavage or some great legs or ‘derrière’ in a tight fitting jeans. Nature’s forces at work. So that’s why the women in manga strips have enormous eyes. It attracts male viewers. And in cartoons the good girl has big eyes and the bad girl small yes with small pupils. And that’s why women mostly risked their lives by taking diluted belladonna, to attract a guy. You have to suffer to be beautiful, right? Some die to be beautiful, some only want to be a beautiful corpse. Belladonna will do the trick. Because of this ‘shocking’ story, Gaga choose this note. Not because of the smell.

Because what does real 'Belladonna' smell like? The plant Belladonna, according to countless botanical guides, has an acrid, very unpleasant, gag inducing smell like burned plastic. And I mean not ‘clean plasticky’ but sour-choking smoldering plastic bottles that have been half burned and melted. Putrid chemical. So that means that 'belladonna' in ‘Fame’ is just a 'name ingredient', a 'dummy ingredient', a fantasized ingredient. Because, of course you can’t smell the vomit inducing ‘belladonna’ in the super clean 'Fame'. Great story, no smell. Like ’cure all’ snake oil peddlers. There is not shadow of a smell of belladonna stench in this clean, light fruity floral that is 'Fame'. The saffron. A real taste maker in many fragances. It smells earthy, meaty, musky... here it is listed but I can smell only a faint trace of it. A suspicion of saffron. And the incense is very muted, almost undetectable. A faint whiff of incense. Which makes fame a breezy fruity floral with nothing ‘dark’ in it

So what does ‘Fame’ really smell like, apart from all the hype, the ads, the image? What does that ‘revolutionary, ground breaking etc.’ fragrance smells like? Honestly: weak sugared flowers and fruit. A generic sugary fruity floral. That’s all folks. Nothing ‘revolutionary' about it. Which proves once again: ‘Don’t believe the hype.‘Fame is a weak generic, by the numbers whisper of a fruity floral fragrance. That’s what’s left apart from all the media hoopla and hyperbole. For me the important thing about a fragrance is the fragrance, not the bottle, the packaging, the image, the ‘story’. If you like Lady Gaga, buy a CD or download her music or video’s. But as a fragrance, this doesn’t even stink! It is so bland, so non descript, so anonymous, taht it can't even reek or irritate! That in itself is shocking, because it comes from Lady Gaga, the shock-dominatrix. ‘Lady Gaga does Anonymous’, who would have thought that possible? But here she is, with a frag like thousands of others just like it. She should have called it ‘Anonymous Nr 1’ instead of ‘Fame’. Which is as lame a name as the fragrance is tame.

When I applied it I first got a full blast of very artificial cheap smelling jasmine and orchid extract. The indolic ('dirty') aspect of the jasmine which you would expect for Gaga to be accentuated, is cleaned or just wasn’t there. Cheap jasmine extracts have no indolic aspect. The cheap extract is too linear. And real jasmine extract is too expensive for the penny pinching Coty who sees Gaga’s frag as a cash cow like she sees here frag as a cash cow, paid by the public. This is a clean sweet un-peppery jasmine. Finally some faint incense can be smelled with a lot of effort. But very faint. And that’s it. The show is over. It was a dud. Nothing noir, nothing original, nothing ‘Gaga’. A bad, cheap experience. Not even a ‘cheap thrill’, the frag is too generic and weak. Where Gaga is all about strong shocking thrills. Except in her own fragrance.

So you smell sanitized or cheap linear jasmine-orchid-sugar-apricot and traces of saffron and incense. That's it, the much hyped 'blood semen, most original and best ever etc' 'Fame. It would be a heavy intoxicating fragrance. It is a very light fragrance. The longevity is short. 1 hour on my skin and the sillage is very weak. This is very close to the skin. Again totally opposite to the image, the promise and the pr campaign by Gaga.

How about the workings on each level? Gaga says that there are no levels, but in reality: it is built like a classic fruity floral and the notes come out this way. Only some notes you don’t or hardly can smell: belladonna (bogus), saffron, incense. The three levels or the notes that can be detected are so bland that there can’t be interaction between them, levels or no levels. In the base the sugar dominates, in the middle it is orchid and jasmine , the top is apricot with a whiff of saffron. So it is jasmine, orchid, apricot and sugar (called ‘honey’ for effect). Nothing to give it some depth and originality. And then: evolution on the skin? Zilch! Zero. Nada for Gaga!

It’s a totally hyped up a totally linear fragrance. 'Fame' is a fantasy tale. An illusion of a frag. Coty, the makers, make sure it is made as cheaply and generic as possible. Why Gaga, who must have smelled this before release, hinges her fame on this ‘Fame’ is simple: cashing in. Money, Greed.

Fans of Gaga’s ‘shocking image who buy this based on th arty farty pr clip for the frag and think that this will be as original and creative as Gaga-the-artist, are in for a shock. Dark, mysterious, original? Hell, Dita von Teese and Kat von D's fragrances are tenfold as original with a 100 time less pr money. If Gaga had delivered a 'meh' fragrance you could maybe have forgiven her because of the original hype and clip. But this is beyond meh: this is bland, faceless, a grey fragrance. ‘Fame’ is barely better than the cheapest non-brand drugstore scent. It is a fragrance not for ‘Little Monsters’, as Gaga-fans like to call themselves, but for shy ‘Wallflowers’.

The proof is in the pudding. Honestly: do you really think that Lady Gaga wears this herself and not ‘Boudoir’ or ‘’Hypnotic Poison’ or Lutens’ ‘Chergui’? Of course not! Her fragarnce ‘Fame’ is just for fans to give her money. It has nothing to do with Gaga’s own taste. This smells as ‘black’ and ‘Lady Gaga’ in the sense of deep, mysterious, oriental, creative, ‘dirty’, shocking… as ‘White Linen’ by Estée Lauder.

So this will end up soon in the discount bins. No doubt about it. I would advise everybody to wait a few months and they'll throw ‘Fame’ at you for a few cents. Rightfully, because this it is weak artificially scented alcohol, pure and simple. No longevity, no sillage, not strength, no originality. Or course you can be so cynic to say that is exactly what Gaga wanted: to show the shallowness of celeb scents. If so: she did a truely brilliant job because celebs scents don't come more generic than this. If she wanted to shock by making one of the weakest, most generic fragrances ever, she suceeded with gusto. The shock here is that Gaga isn't capable of being creative with her own much hyped frag. It falls as flat as a CD of... (fill it in yourself).

This is a ‘Pretend Frag', a 'Showbiz Frag': all illusion, nothing real. Nothing to do with perfumery art or craftsmanship.

By the way, why do all these singers and dancers think they can make a fragrance? Do ‘Noses’ like Dominique Ropion, Annick Menardo, Jacques Polge… think they can sing and dance because they can create genius fragrances? No. But showbizz ego’s are unreal and blown up beyond reality, we know that. And ‘Fame’ proves it baby one more time.

So to sum it up: ‘Fame’ is a generic run of the mill
Coty-by-the-numbers fragrance. A weak, soon-to-be-forgotten anonymous fruity floral. Gaga sold her fragrance soul to the devils 'Greed' and 'Money', and you pay for it.

For the record, I don't care about Lady Gaga, I don't care about Madonna. I don't care about Christina Aguilera or Dita von Teese or Kat von D. They leave me indifferent. I care about good fragrances. And this is not a good or original fragrance, simple as that. It is even beyond stinking, because it is too weak to stink. I doesn't even have the power to stink, the power to shock, the power to be different. It is the ultimate 'meh'-frag. But Gaga laughs all the way to the bank. With your money in her pocket.

I am a huge fan of Lady Gaga, and like everyone else I expected something more unique too, so I was also dissapointed to see the notes in it. But, I still did my duty as a fan and tested it today. I smelled it, and instantly I was reminded of a honey coated version of Mariah Carey's Forever. Weird right? So I even sprayed Forever on my other wrist to do a comparison, and I think I was right. This is just like Forever, except no watery notes and smells a bit thicker. I carried on shopping, and for the first 10 minutes I could smell Forever much more than Fame, which was another let down as Fame is much more expensive so I expected more quality. About another 10 minutes later, I was very impressed. I didn't just get random whiffs of Fame, I started smelling it each time I inhaled! It smells like though, so I didn't mind. I didn't get the "push pull" whatever, it smelled the same on me as it did on my mother throughout the day. The bottle is even cuter in person, I love how the tester sits on the lid, and longevity is great while sillage is slightly heavier than moderate. Pricing is a bit mad though, especially when she has so many fans that are still teenagers like me! And with that said, Fame does actually lack uniqueness, but that doesn't make it terrible. In fact, I love this and I think it can be worn year round. So what's there to hate? Brilliant packaging and bottle, check. Great smell, check. Good sillage and longevity, check. So I give Fame/Forever 2.0 a 9/10.

I love this . . . actually I am obsessed with it. Smells wonderful on me and I really cannot think of any other perfume it smells like and I have a LOT! of fragrances in my collection. ;-)

At first spray I was a bit horrified, as it reminded me of middle school girls locker rooms. Artificial and waaay too sweet. I decided never again, and was glad the sample I got from Nordstroms was small.
However, about 20 minutes later I got a few comments about smelling nice. Curiously, I sniffed my wrists again, and was pleasantly surprised.
Now OBVIOUSLY all fragrances are going to be different on each person because of body chemistry.

But it wasn't bad on me. It wasn't 'man this is original and unique', but it wasn't terrible. A soft warm floral with just a hint of incense.
Unlike others, I didn't get a powdery or babypowder scent from it (As I desperately hate that odor, I'd be quick to report on it)

So i'd suggest people try it, and wait at the very least around 10 minutes before resniffing. It might work on you, it might not.

In general though, I would most certainly have expected something a bit more WOW from Lady Gaga.

I love the bottle and Juice color. the juice itself is a fairly common fragrance, most will say it's nothing spectacular or groundbreaking. It's nice and well done though. I'm a guy and i looove Lady Gaga. On my skin it smells like a Powdery Passion Flower, almost like an Energy drink, but less sweet. Lasts a good long time, and becomes more powdery.

I really wanted to smell this so I went to ulta, and they had it. I was so disappointed when I smelled it. I love the bottle but not the scent. To me it smelt like medicine, cold, and I'm not sure but it wasn't unique or special.

I was very curious to know what Lady Gaga fragrance smells like. So when I saw it in a department store, I samples it right away. And I must say I was very disapointed. I was expecting more, MUCH more from Lady Gaga, something really different and extravagant. Instead, it was a very sweet and simple fume. The only difference is the color of the juice, black. So what? There are already pick, blue, green colored fragrances, and now there is black, that's it.

Uninspired and unoiriginal. I walked into my Macy's excited to try this, thinking that something with the Lady Gaga name had to be interesting and different, and I walked out with the saddest little tester strip. It smells like any other perfume I've ever smelled. Nice, sure. But forgettable.

Upon first smelll & first spray, this scent just smelled like every other sweet, generic celebrity fragrance. It was quite pleasant & inoffensive.

However, upon the dry down, the scent changed dramatically, & started to smell very plastic-y. But in a very strange way! It smelt exactly like the barbie dolls I used to play with as a child! It was a very distinct scent, & one which I found unpleasant.

Now however, more time has passed & the scent has changed again! The plastic-y barbie scent is turning into what smells like incense, that of which I find pleasant.

All in all, a very intriguing & ever-changing scent. Who knows, it may develop further.. Strange.

EDIT: Just looked at the notes, & at this point I can definitely discern the incense & the apricot, as well as some of the jasmine. I was definitely hit with the florals at first, though.

This scent may not be my 'cup of tea', but I can certainly appreciate the way that each individual note comes out at one time or another during the development of this scent. It makes wearing it very exciting, & dictates that the scent has been well-blended. These days, a lot of the commercial scents have a tonne of notes, but all those notes are overpowered by one. I love how in this scent, each note is showcased, with the other notes accompanying it, enhancing it. I am very impressed.

EDIT #2: Had it on for hours, took a nap, woke up & smelt the sweet honey.

This actually smells quite pleasant, bearable and light.Lasting power is not great which is a shame as its lovely to wear.

This was finally released in New Zealand today. When I went to the shop to sniff it, I was kinda nervous and hesitated before picking up the tester, since I had been looking forward to it for ages, but was scared that I wouldn't like it and end up disappointed. When I finally plucked up the courage to sniff the tester, I was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely fruity, but there was something else in there that was giving it an edge and taking away some of the sweetness from the apricot, perhaps the belladonna? Whatever it was, I promptly sprayed it on myself to see how it would smell on my skin; it smelled just as fabulous, so I bought a big bottle. Love it. <3

I finally got to smell this today. I was soooo pleased I'd actually found it. With great excitement I sprayed. What I got was a very pretty floral. A little generic not at all what I expected from Lady Gaga. I expected something more oriental. Something like LDe Lolita Lempicka or LL's Si. I expected something like pink pepper to be in there somewhere. All in all a pretty frag. I'll eventually buy it but when it is on special. 7/10

must all I can smell is musty I don't know about other peoples review on this it smells nothing strong in the beginning when you spray it

I also get a lot of ripe grape from this. Reminds me of the vine tree we had in our house when i was a kid. Did not expect that from Gaga. Did not try on skin though (I admit i was a bit scared)

Finally got to smell this for the first time a few days ago. It's not what I expected but in a good way. I was expecting to get a floral, spicy, almost unisex/manly smell for some reason, but this soft, sweet, floral is so gorgeous! I can't wait to add this one to my collection!

The design of the bottle is absoluteley stunning and all the promotional ads seem very dark and mysterious, but when you come to the fragrance, it is not dark at all. Ive heard it smells different to match your skin technology. When you first spray it it seems very floral and feminine but towards the end of the day it smells like smokey incense (in a good way) not as creative as I thought it would be, but the Black Liquid and Bottle Design gets a 10/10, fragrance 8/10

When I tried this on at Ulta, it didn't particularly speak to me as unique or something that Lady Gaga would come up with. But I guess it's a statement of its own without being too shocking although I can see why many people could consider it generic. I think Lady Gaga did have a clear vision in mind when she created it. It's interesting since it evolves rather nicely, yet it kind of fades onto nothingness, just like fame itself. Interesting, yet unexpected. Pretty smelling but not what you'd thought it would be. I see myself purchasing my first celebrity fragrance in the future.

anyway. so I got this as a sample. and in spite of everything i think it's OK when you double-spray - for work or during the day to feel fresh and smell balmy...

Not what I expected. The packaging and campaign for this fragrance is very mysterious and avant garde...but the actual scent does not match. It smells so much like grape Kool Aid! Some floral notes peak through...but that's about it. The fragrance was a bit of a letdown.

Someone who compared it to Black XS for her, it's insane. While Fame is sicky and for me makes me like throw up, I love Black XS, both, for men, and for women, L'excess or the normal one.

Another gourmand scent for the celebrity fragrance market! This one has a strong sickly-sweet smell. Let's see, blood supposedly smells sickly-sweet, and the gourmand aspect implies something edible...so it does suit the macabre concept she was after with this fragrance. (Black fluid, claws)
It's amusing, if not so substantial. (Sort of like Lady Gaga! What self-awareness...)

A cheap smelling perfume, regardless it's celebrity or not. I don't care if the liquid is black, I must be impressed by the sillage, by the harmony, by the notes- not by marketing gimmicks. As a flavour for a new Orbit bubble-gum, I would take it. A new Haribo jelly with this stuff would do, but a perfume, come on: dull,cheap and vulgar. Don't waste your money, buy drugstore perfumes, you can find better than this: Ulric de Varens, B.U, C-THRU. Any AVON fragrance becomes a masterpiece next to this ( actually AVON has a lot of nice perfumes that really are masterpieces).

I like it when I spay on , then 10 mins it just disappeard. it is not mix with my chemistry. just gone.
oh, btw, before I smell this , ad said there is incense , I was not interesting it at all , I am glad that when I spay it and there is no any incense, far-eastern india incense what's so ever. which is very nice.

She said that this perfume smells as a whore (or something like that)...to me it smells like a teenage girl that goes out on her first date!Its quite innocent smell and it does not smell like whore in any way!

It really should be tested on skin, because for me, there was a big difference between paper & skin.

This stuff didn't evolve at all on the paper test strip. I think someone else described it as "jammy" smelling and YEP... on paper, this juice smelled like black currant / grape jam to me.

On my skin, however, it opened with the jam smell, but that was replaced quickly with a honeyed floral scent and a little touch of apricot, mostly. A tiny bit of spice in the background, but nothing "pushy".

It was very pretty, actually.

It stays pretty close to my skin, but seems to last quite awhile. It's been several hours and I catch an occasional whiff of it, but only now and again. That's exactly how I like my perfumes, actually.

Nothing ground-breaking, but maybe there's something to that... why not just smell nice and let the "real you" shine through?

I'll probably wait for the price to go down before I purchase it.

just another commercial act of Gaga. All this fuss around the bottle design....adv. clip ,,,.etc.....- in vain ! It is for trustful fans of Gaga who will buy anything from her. Nothing special and outstanding as was promised by pre sale craze , just another ordinary cordial . Laugh! Shallow as she is. I can't see any bright or dark side of Fame in this generic juice! The Concept of the fragrance is very hard for Gaga. Failed. The bottle must be something pretty and simple, may be with flower patterns but not so dramatic and black! This is not black little bit! The bottle and the scent are 2 different worlds! Especially after seeing the clip this frag seems very funny and even ridiculous! I 'd name this frag Summer in the garden or Sunny day )))

Apart from the bottle and the advertisement, there's nothing special about this perfume. It doesn't stink, but it's not something I would buy either. Just like any other perfume out there. Floral, a bit sweet, kind of ... meh. The shop assistant in Sephora wanted to spray my wrist because 'it smells so wonderfully', but I said 'I'll be the judge of that, please spray the test paper first'. So glad I did, really not worth even trying it on the wrist. And it's expensive! I'm sure 80% of the price goes to marketing.

I normally don't bother with celebrity scents but I thought I'd give this one a try since it's being touted as ''different' due to the black liquid, etc.

The initial hit for me was black licorice, and it's not even listed in the notes so I'm not sure what it is I'm smelling..the honey perhaps? I have no idea what belladonna and saffron smell like so that's no help.

THe drydown was a real letdown, not stinky by any means, but just so ordinary! I guess I was expecting something a bit more adventuresome from Gaga. Shame.

the incense is a complete turn off. it smells, licoricey anisey, and that is a fearsome note on my skin sure to overwhelm everything else. If you like licoricey incense then you'd better check this one out. could have used more spice and belladona imo. An odd mixture, I'm not sure what to make of it, but I couldn't and never will wear it.

Good or not too good, original but not too genuine...it s the first BLACK perfume in history and - surprise!-6 million bottles in 1 week makes it the 2nd fastest selling fragrance EVER after Coco Chanel. Like it or not, this is the truth....

Not a stinker (smelled like a good washing detergent to me) but utterly boring and the juice basically stays behind all expectations a perfume lover might associate with the name/brand Lady Gaga.
I was expecting something bold, a "coup de foudre", something that requires guts to wear.
Sorry, Lady Gaga, but it takes more than just an ominous black liquid to get me in your boat.
Biggest perfume disappointment of this year.

This is such a boring scent and not something I'd expect from Lady Gaga. How did she even approve such a bland scent? At first spray it smells like grape juice. After it dries down its just light florals with a little sweetness. It reminds me of Viva La Juicy, except not as heavy. The staying power is not very good either; it only lasts 2-3 hours until it disappears completely. I guess I expected too much.

I don't know how it smells like, but looking at the bottle and the commercial plus the wicked personality of gaga I can almost smell something like Bvlgari Black. We need something leathery, dark, smokey, UNISEX! But what do we have: honey??? APRICOT??? Why would I even bother to smell this when people compare this even to perfumes like Radiance by Britney or Wish by Chopard?

Gaga is trying waaaaaay too much, what an epic failure. No thanks!! (Ps. Im happy that it doesnt smell like Black because then everyone would wear it and it wouldnt be unique anymore)

Absolutely NOTHING original about this frag! In fact it smells like several others, Tresor by Lancome being just one of them as an example. I got this as a sample and will NOT be buying it or recommending it either.

Sweet? Yes.

Intro smells pretty good: white floral (jasmine and orchids) clean, fresh and shampoo-like at first.
Not sure what belladonna smells like; I only know of belladonna for medical purposes).... The black fluid is most likely belladonna, and that's pretty cool! It does not stain your clothes or skin. Definitely give her a credit for incorporating something new. The scent is quite pleasant for several hours, but then synthetic too much honey takes over, same as majority of other celeb fumes.
Drydown overly sweet.
Silage, maybe 3 hours at most.
Daytime scent.
Conclusion: Lady Gaga you are famous but your perfume so 'n so.
This is geared towards majority of young people teens and Gaga fans and I'm sure it'll sell. Profitable yup sure is!

on me it smells mostly of a creamy orchid with a touch of honey and apricot.
The base claims a note of “black incense”.
The incense is wispy and overwhelmed by the sweet,honey creamy floral powder.
Since the fragrance isn't built with Top /Middle /Base notes configuration .. it becomes a LINEAR fragrance and Muddied!!!!
The singer can reach a higher top note than this fragrance can:

having more stamina than I did.

the Futuristic DECO -esque bottle is about the only Cool and AMAZING thing about this fragrance...oh yeah!!! ... almost forgot...to mention

Stunning packaging for a product that lacks any sort of depth. In this aspect, it is a completely successful translation of the artist.

Skipping the obviously fantastic packaging, the fragrance immediately reminds one of the cacophony of celebrity garbage one's nose is assaulted with when walking into a local Perfumania. This stuff is hideously loud and horrendously cheap.

A missed opportunity, for sure.

I was lucky enough to try this perfume before it hit the shelves but I was so gutted with the smell!
It's too floral for my taste, which sucks because I love Lady Gaga...just not her perfume though.
I had a guy friend with me to check it out at the same time and he wasn't much of a fan either although he was tempted to buy it simply because he just loves her too.

On one hand I did not have any high expectations, after all, this is another celebrity-fragrance, and if I look at Fame this way, it was no surprise or disappointment: the typical sweet perfume, suitable for everyday wear.

On the other hand, I was hoping that Lady Gaga maybe, just maybe would try to make it different from the other celeb-frags, and be a bit more "Gaga-like" with it. If it was a blind-smell, I would never guess it is her perfume.

I went to Sephore and I smelled this perfume today, it was pleasant but not unique. I thought it smelled like Grape Kool Aid.

Sugar, fruit-chouli and flavour notes, not perfume notes. It is rather difficult to conceive a perfume more vulgar than this one: even some prostitutes have a more elevated taste. Fame, by Lady Ga Ga- maybe this one is rather a Maribo confection than a perfume, or, even worse, the sketch of a perfume. There should be some regulations in releasing perfumes: sorry, but I do not feel the glamour in such an ordinary fragrance. Forget about the listed notes and remember some keywords: overtly sugary-sweet, metallic and unbalanaced. I am not allowed to mention the word harmony when I describe this ordinary release.

This scent definetaly reminds me of Radiance by Britney Spears. I have Fame right now on the top of my hand and it smells very close to Radiance.

Tried a sample of this recently. I have to agree with the majority of the other reviewers. Not unpleasant; if someone gave it to me, I wouldn't throw it away, but it is not distinctive at all. Smells like a zillion other scents out there. I was disappointed- I was expecting something really different from the Gaga and this is not it. The bottle is great and I love the ads but the scent is so-so, kinda boring and slightly sweet, which Gaga is not. If you want a celebrity scent that is a bit differnt, check out Rebel Fleur by Rihanna. It's got an adge to it and a nice drydown.

Generic, run-of-the-mill, vague fruity floral. I genuinely wanted to give it a chance and tested it with an open mind, but nope, nothing groundbreaking or interesting about it. It reminds me a lot of Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears. It's wearable and okay, but there's nothing special about it either.

this fragrance is so thierry mugler! it is known that lady gaga wears thierry mugler fragrances and it is obvious that she's inspired by them.

Some days I admire Lady Gaga, other days she scares me. She's wild, unconventional and surprising, and I suppose that's why the world loves her. Despite the fact that Fame, her first fragrance hasn't been that well received, I am mighty glad that this fragrance doesn't smell like blood and semen, (like the early rumour seemed to suggest), and I can give you the guarantee that you won't smell like an expensive hooker either.

Fame by Lady Gaga is an intense, sweet and honeyed floral. It's nothing particularly outstanding, but unlike the majority, I actually like it. In other words, it's perfectly wearable.

The opening is rather heavy with syrupy apricot, alluring orchid and a drizzling of honey. It verges on a gourmand, but it's not nearly as sweet as some celebrity fragrances. It has a slightly more grown-up approach than I expected. It's not something that will make the teenagers go crazy.

Despite the apricot note, and other accords that resemble a juicy plum and red grapes, Fame isn't anything like a fruity floral. I'm tentatively calling it an oriental gourmand for now.

Fame is the kind of fragrance I would wear during Winter or out clubbing. It's a bit too heavy for Summer and daytime wear. I actually like the black fluid idea. I don't know how they do it, but this fragrance does indeed spray clear. I also like the mysterious bottle design.

Fame is perhaps not as brave as Lady Gaga herself, but that's not to say that it's a boring scent. I think it will sell extremely well over the Christmas period, and I'm not ashamed to say that I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

@Natttttttm, I couldn't have agreed more. I was hoping for a scent that was different from the rest. It also didn’t excite me the same way her music does. But,I do like the bottle shape and the color changing perfume. But,the scent is a bit boring to me. :(

Tested this one with high hopes even though I really don't like pop musicians. I thought that maybe this would be a sweeter version of Illamasqua Freak.

It turns out to smell quite cheap and gross, sickly sweet and synthetic (must be the incense and belladonna? or the astringent orchid?) while also strongly jasmine. Sigh. It seems like a rather confused scent, trying to pull your senses in different directions. Does it want to be modern or old fashioned or both at once? I don't think it accomplishes that at all. It is like a modern sweet floral for young girls mixed with a shallow-note vintage. Like it is trying to be a chypre but failing. I am really dreading people wearing this around me, actually.

It turns really acrid on me in the heart, smelled a lot different on the strip. I believe the jasmine used here is very synthetic and sharp. Reminds me of the jasmine in the Kim Kardashian fragrance which was really unpleasant. I thought it had been the tuberose but I was wrong.

The opening notes are sweet and um...boozy. Not alcohol but like an alcoholic's breath after he has eaten candy. Somewhere there was a violet-like note that really churned my stomach. I am not sure what this fragrance hopes to accomplish. :| The sillage is very poor as well as the longevity.

I so love this fragrance... I would happily wear the intense-extreme-absolute perfume version of this 'grape rhum cigar' and jam fume but the E.D.T. comes as a disapointment. I cannot afford to buy a fragrance that does not last and that is the case with me. On with the hunt!

I smelled this in Nordies finally just yesterday, to make my review fairly short. so I seen the wonderful display I went up all excited after reading all the reviews I couldn't wait to see for myself. so I sprayed it I smelled it && I said hmmm it's not that bad pretty nice musky floral...hmmmm? hmmmm? though, I should not be saying hmmm? that's nice, I should be wowed to where I say OMG! that is fantastic!, so I smelt a few more times my upper lip went up, not from the smell just from sheer diapoitment...then in the trash it went...basically it wasn't even worth holding on to the strip, what's that saying...I love GaGa but this did not thrill me, it's a nice scent but nothing memorable or outrageously different like the mother herself. :/

The sales people really built this up so I was expecting something darker and sexier. There is nothing exciting or edgy (unless you count using the "poisonous belladonna" as "edgy") about this like you would expect from Gaga. It is just another celebrity fragrance... Floral and sweet.

I have to admit I was expecting something more seductive or woody, but once I let my skin get used to it, I reached a verdict. There's something about it that I love, it may be the honey with the spices and incense. It's just something I can't get enough of, and I don't go for celebrity juices. Usually, celebrity perfumes tend to be all sweet and cotton candy barf. This is an exception. Thumbs up Miss Gaga!

I admit, my first intial impression of this fragrance was nothing to write about ;) It starts off some what cheap smelling, with a hint of nastalgia (probably the result of the drugstore perfumes I bought and doused myself in when I was an easily pleased preteen). But the bottle. Oh, the bottle. I would give any perfume a second chance when she looks like this and is filled with black fluid. Hands down, the best bottle design and concept I've seen on a perfume. I want this on my dresser and only this. So, I give the cheap hussy a chance, cause she looks so good. Well wouldn't you know it, the first half hour with her is a bit of a bore and I'm about to wash her out of my life and then like magic, she's piqued my intrerest. She's no longer the cheap hussy I thought she was, but has morphed into some mysterious and yes, classy creature, whom I think I'd like to get to know. Don't get me wrong, she's still a little tacky at heart, but it's sort of part of her intrigue now and I can easily look past this. Somehow, she has grown on me and I think I may like her and not just for her looks ;)

It starts out smelling as if it could be really interesting -- a combination of grape and honey. But it simply dissipates after about 20 mins. A very cheap dry down.

At first, I found the smell awful: a mixture of purple Kool-Aid, cheap vodka, and a little honey. I was quite disappointed.

I decided to spray one of the fresh ribbons, in case someone was playing a joke with the tester ribbons. Upon spraying, the perfume did not create a large mist, but a more concentrated squirt that hit both the ribbon I was holding and my thumb. I smelled again, and I was unhappy. Not only was the perfume foul, it was now on me. Boo.

I rubbed off as much as a could, then went on with my day, sadder and wiser. But, within 5 minutes, an awesome and curious thing had happened: the fragrance changed dramatically and smelled good!

After 5 minutes it smelled like apricot, grape juice, honey, and orchid.

Over the next 3 hours, there were different intensities of apricot, orchid, honey, smoke, incense, musk, peach, and black cherry.

After about 3 hours it smelled like J’adore with a little more apricot, incense and honey.

The scent wasn’t too strong– and, it changed many times from floral to fruity to darker and musky– almost unisex.

Also, that perfume LASTED. I washed my hands several times that day, took a shower, went to bed and ate sushi, and I could still smell that black cherry- smoke- incense- apricot- orchid- J’adore on my thumb.

I was sad as the smell died to my nose later that next day. I may begin wearing this perfume in the future.

Gaga.. whatchu doin' gurl. This scent reminds me of grape jello, floral body mists I had as a kid, and plastic. It's something I would wear out if I wanted my presence to be felt in a bad way - like if one of my many best friend couples invited me out to be a third wheel for the last time!

FAME OMG this is amazing so amazing it had me in tears (of belladonna lol jk ) when i first put it on it was moderate it projected far but in a soft way when i first out it on it smelled like florals like scary floral it was not what i expacted at all but then it changed to like a honey fruity type kinda very sensual type smell and every time smelt it it got more and more sweet kinda like a warm kinda feel. i thought that i was gonna smell incense but nope but i love it its such a fun ride the fragrence it had me freaking ut a must buy

I love the soft and lingering florals and the edgy art deco-esque bottle despite the fact that the imagery the scent creates greatly contradicts the bottle design, and the "oxidizing" black fluid did not go clear but gray on my skin, this is a fantastic perfume and one I could see myself wearing.

PEOPLE It's funny reading all those anti-Lady Gaga comments. It's just ridiculous! How much hate can there be over A PERFUME? No wonder people kill themselves over nothing in this world!!! Just to be extremly honest - there is nothing about this perfume to hate sooo much. People mostly do not like and would not wear it only because it is Lady Gaga fragrance. There is nothing objective about it. I think this one is very nice and you don't even know how many different perfumes I had smelled over the last year! I had Coco Mademoiselle, Chanel 5, Alien, Angel, Womanity from Thierry Mugler, Marc Jacobs Daisy. I could go on forever and I don't think that Lady Gaga Fame is a copy of something nor I think it's "nothing special". To me it's pretty, I would wear it, it does not give me headache's, it's sweet but not too much, elegant and most of all it LASTS LONG. I totally disagree when someone say that it's not lasting at all. I don't know where all this hate came from. I WOULD PUT IT AS ONE OF MY FAVOURITES NO DOUBT - and I am not a Lady Gaga fan!

I just bought it for my Mother's birthday. I smelled it, and I have to say I really liked it. Most of the times, women perfumes kind of annoy me, but "Fame" didn't. It's actually really sweet and soft, I love smelling it. In the beginning, the top note is honey and also all the flowers it contains. One or two hours later, the apricot starts appearing. I really liked it. My mother liked it too, even though she doesn't really like Gaga herself. Haha. I strongly recommend buying it.

Here the fruity note is grape juice, bland , inoffensive grape juice, sweetened vaguely by a honey accord....and pouf it's gone! That's it...
And the bottle is not that attractive, makes me think of strange taxonomy creatures and bottled spiders...the fact that the juice is black is interesting though...but that's it.
It's not an expensive perfume, really , and for a fan it might do the job, but to me it smells just bland and uninteresting...

Anyways, about the scent.......

Clearly, the first impression is...Grape soda. Not an awful sour grape soda though. Trust me I hate grape soda, but these top notes were bearable, but it was definitely grape smelling at first.

But then within minutes you smell the real 'perfume' behind this and it smells very chic and expensive.

Very - your mother's top shelf perfume - kind of smell.

It's for a certain kind of woman to me.
Elegant. Daring. Dark. Etc.

The bottle is scary. And the scent is okay.

I do not have this perfume (yet), but I have smelled it in the shop. I thought it was OK when I smelled it at the bottle, so I sprayed it on the card and smelled it, and it was just amazing. It has a distinctly sweet smell, but is also slightly dark. I sprayed it on the card yesterday and it is still smell-able today. In fact, it smells almost as strong as when I first sprayed it. It is not an overpowering scent, and the scent seems to change from sweet to dark and sweet again. I really did like it. To all those who say its really bad, it's just because you don't like Miss Gaga. If someone were to blindfold you and make you smell it, you would love it. It is a lovely fragrance with a lovely colour in a lovely bottle. I really do love it

BY THE WAY I AM A HUGE LADY GAGA FAN. FULL HONEST LITTLE MONSTER REVIEW. Ok so when I first heard that this fragrance came out I thought it was going to smell like leather, jasmine, gardenia, and dark musk. Then the notes came out, and I thought Hmmmmmm this could be very dark. Going on YouTube and watching reviews saying its not to dark, I thought they are probably wrong. Afraid thats it would smell terrible, I was not sure. Then I got my bottle of Fame on August 22nd (US Release Date), and when I opened the box and sprayed it on my skin, I was in this fantasy land going on in my brain. And then I said, "best.... Scent....EVER!. So this is what I smelled.


First, I smelled the belladonna and the apricot the most in the top. Soon the belladona and the apricot mix together and makes a blackberry or black current and black cherry smell. That really pleased me. Then the incense comes. It makes it really smoky. I think this smokiness smells like a smoky scent in a mens colonge. So its unisex smelling. And that incense is there for the WHOLE time. So men, if you or interested or want to buy it. Go ahead and wear it. It a bit musky to, but, its not a dark musk.

Then, With the florals like the jasmine and the tiger orchid. Its there when you first started the fragrance, And that tiger orchid is that similar tiger orchid in Beyonce's Heat Rush. And that jasmine is similar to the jasmine in Katy Perry's Purr (to me). Still that apricot is there.

Last, I smell a lot of that saffron and honey. Makes it sweet. Not like a girly 12 year old sweet, Its like a mature sweet. Its a kind of a sticky sweet. And to me is not that bad. With this scent it smells a lot of like Jadore by Dior and Viid by Liz Clairaborne. Now, here is the overall complete rating of: smell, bottle desing, and box. So here it goes.

Rating: Scent i would say 10/10. Bottle 10/10. And box 10/10. Lasting power 9.5/10. Full Honest review. Overall I think this fragrance is AMAZING. Not because I am a little monster. Even if I hated Lady Gaga I would still say good things about this fragrance. And I have one more thing to say to the haters of this fragrance.

I think haters did nto put it on there skin. Maybe they HAVE NOT SMELLED IT and just wanted to say bad things about. Like people sying Such a tack bottle, or boring scent, and saying worst fragrance ever. But, what is there not to love?! I mean come on! Saying that you hate it is not even a review! It dosent help anyone at all! So dont judge a fragrance from the nozzle, spraying it on the air, and spraying it on a piece of paper. Just put it on your skin.

Overall the scent is a awesome smell and its a 10/10. :)

I had a lot of expectations about this perfume and I just find it offensive.
I can't feel the contrast between darkness and light, but just a sweet naive apricot jus. I have to admit that it does change a lot (and gets a little better) after time (3-4 hours). Incense and saffron come out, but not with ''dark'' elegance.

Ok, it is black, but you should have put more in the perfume and less in the marketing. And, even if it is blue, WODE Paint by Boudicca came out before Fame and it becomes transparent as well. It is not true that Fame turns immediately transparent: it first leaves a dark shade and then it fades.

Not too bad, a peachy marzipan to me which is in a bottle with reasonable weight and a cool design. This isn't dark or threatening and is a thoroughly mainstream fruity floral with a gourmand edge
