Bergamote 22 by Le Labo is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. The nose behind this fragrance is Daphne Bugey. The fragrance features amber, musk, grapefruit, vetiver, petit grain and bergamot.
Per Le Labo, Bergamot is a unisex scent.
It reminds me very much of CHANEL's Eau de Cologne, which I own, so I would not purchase it. It's strong on bergamot, which I love. It does present a certain green facet, truly bergamot, rather than lemon. The base is woody and musky. I think I prefer it over CHANEL. I would highly recommend this as a light daily cologne for fresh out of the shower.
An average quality green bergamot supported by a well done citruses opening and laying on a woody vetiver base. Not particularly exciting but surely enjoyable throughout Its 8+ hrs lasting.
Honest and pleasant except for the price.
Rating: 6.5-7/10
This is touted as a unisex scent - not male. This female ALWAYS gets compliments when wearing it. Starts out very cedar-heavy but dries down deliciously! Great sillage.
A gorgeous juicy citrus fragrance that lasts all day. The effect is sparkly and fresh - perfect for summer.
I just got back from Barneys where, quite frankly, I lost my sense of smell after four perfumes. But this one I wanted to try, so I slapped it on my arm and left, hoping to catch a whiff later in the day.
Did I catch a whiff? Most certainly. This one is just awesome! It's a chewy green, and I've smelled this vibe before but can't remember where. I want to say in an angelica heavy scent, Angelique Noir? I"m really not sure. But this is not a spring green, or even a forest green. This is a green you could hold in your hands.
Longevity is impressive. I"m going back to Barney's in two weeks, and this is on my 'second test' list, for sure!
For men? Really, I'm not convinced. The day I wore this, I received so many compliments. I didn't feel like this needed gender bending at all.
I usually hate dominant citrus notes in my fragrances, especially when grapefruit plays a leading role, but Bergamote 22 has proven that a perfectly refreshing citrus scent without harshness or sour accords can be reached.
Bergamote 22 sparkles with such brightness and prettiness. In truth, the name is a little misleading as the woods are quite a feature in this fragrance.
There's a sweet aspect to this fragrance that is difficult to explain. It's clean floral at times and has an interesting soapy quality especially towards the drydown. I only noticed the sweetness on the tester card, but not my skin.
On my skin, the masculinity of this fragrance appears. For the first few minutes it's a clean and crisp blend of citrus and musk, however vetiver and amber really feature on my skin after the top notes fade. This fragrance also struggled to last on me.
On others Bergamote 22 has wonderful sillage and longevity. I so wanted this fragrance to work for me, but like all citrus scents, they don't go well with my chemistry.
I have not been entirely let-down by this fragrance, in fact I'm thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend.
