Poivre 23 Le Labo for women and men

Heard it's a great and unusual one... I agree but what's with the scent lasting? It smells on the skin but you actually need your nose sticked to your skin... not good.

One of my absolute favorite scents. It starts out with a beautifully realistic pepper note and a puff of smokiness. As it dries down, the hidden vanilla heart of this frag reveals itself. It's like warming sunlight peering from behind the dark cloud of the opening notes. A comforting and confidence-boosting frag for me.

Testing this one today, and while I do find it pleasant, it doesn`t seem so unique. The pepper here reminds me a lot of the hot, dry, intense pepper of Madness by Choppard. But it seems like a "sanity" version of Madness fierce pepper, less hot, less dry. It may be more acceptable by someone who doesn`t like pepper. What intrigues me is that this fragrance seems to have two different faces: one peppery when close, and one smoky, slightly balmy and vanilic at distance. Tough, the composition seems like a sketch for me - all nathalie lorson compositions that i have tried give me this impression of basenotes done in a rush. It seems that this perfumer is not for me.
