I have always loved the scent of yellow roses - creamy, fruity and rosy all at once - so I had to try this fragrance and its original, Rose d'Ete.

This perfume, which according to the Parfums de Rosine website is a light version with less alcohol than traditional eaux de parfum, starts out with juicy citrus and pear. It is a fresh, energizing beginning that then slides into the sweet, dewy rose heart. These really are yellow roses, with their creamy scent. The base is very subtle and soft. Scent is very light and only lasts about 2, 2 1/2 hours on me. It is similar in mood, if not very close in actual smell, to the light-hearted fruity-floral bouquet of Tommy Girl.

I do prefer the original, with its stronger formulation and its melon-apple-bergamot top notes. Not everyone likes melon, but to me it seems to pair very well with the fruity creaminess of yellow roses. As I write, I'm seeking a large bottle of it; that's high praise from me because I rarely buy full bottles.

Oddly, Fragrantica has this one in the database but not the original Rose d'Ete.
