I realized, after taste all kinds of perfumes I 've already fell in love just imagine the smell, that I'm a person very complicated to fall in love with a fragrance. I will never can buy a perufme without tasting, or be surprised with one. This perfume is terrible. Absolutely terrible. I dont know if it is because of musk, or because of cherry, but its kind of sweet and woody, never fruit. I hated, the smell got worst even more with the time passing LOL
I found the staying power of this rather weak and it also reminds much of the original. While I used to wear the original when it was the only one, I got kind of fed up with it by all the variations which had nothing new to offer really.
Could anybody tell me if this is similar to Forbidden Flower? It's really hard to find a sample of this in my country, and I would have to buy it blind online, but I already have Fobidden Flower... I wouldn't buy Amarena Whim if it smells too much like FF. Can you help me, guys?
I could only find this perfume on a UK website, I ordered it and am waiting for it to come in. I currently have the original LL, midnight, and midnight flower. I have a feeling I will not be disappointed when this one finally arrives! I cant wait! I will post a review once it gets here.
So glad I didn't buy it. I had the chance to test it first. I never imagined that the earthy touch that Trvevil and CherryLou were talking about would be so notorious. At first it's earthy but a lot cherry-ish bombon with almond juice or amaretto. The second fase is the best to me, the cherry and the almond are stronger and the earthy feeling is almost imperceptible. It doesn't last too much and the worst thing comes, fruits are now in the background and the at this time pure soil smell is leading. It just becomes worst and worst, till the only thing that you smell is something too similar to the soil smell (or taste) of a rotten apple.
You are right - cherry note in it is absolutely delicious and pleasant. It is slightly sour, and is not too sweet -it is rather fresh I would say.
Imagine the very last stage of original Lolita Lempickas drydown, then add a bold and juicy cherry note. That is what Amarena Whim smells like. I do not get much almond on my skin. I layer it with my Body Shop Wild Cherry body butter, which I think complements this scent.
Overall, I find it absolutely enjoyable, spring/summer fragrance. The only problem I have with it is lasting power - at first it lingers really well around you but then becomes hardly detectable after 3-4 hours :( This is EDP but even by LL EDT lasts much longer. But I dont mind doing touch ups throughout the day as this scent is very uplifting and optimistic.
FYI
I went to the Lolita website and this limited edition fragrance was created to be worn alone or over the original L to enhance the distinctive facets.
UPDATE: Wearing this today, and I have applied maybe 4 times already and I just can't hardly smell it. Even with my nose pressed against my wrist! It just disappears on me. :(
hurray! At last! I have not worn this for a day yet, but I like what I smell so far. It reminds me of cherry vanilla icecream, with almond syrup drizzled on top. Surprisingly, not sickly sweeet or cloying, but rather, fresh. :-)
Oh I can't wait to try this one! Cherry &/or Almond scents could go either way, either so delicious and divine, or icky sweet and too strong. I do love both notes and would love to try this! It sounds yummy. :) How fun!
At first it was interesting, but later my hand smelled awful pure bitter almond.
Edit: A lovely, charming, warm fragrance with soft cherry and earthy notes. It's light and very pleasant, I do see the resemblance with the smell of a warm soil.
As PacoGirl said it's great to be worn with other fragrances or alone. I spray this on my hair when wearing Lolita Lempicka and the result is heavenly.
I bought this years ago. I still have the bottle on my vanity. Very light, sweet and feminine.
I finally found a bottle of this from a person in Spain.
It's very different from the other Lolita offerings. This is a cherry and almond scent. very soft and great for everyday wear.
Worth trying if you can find it for sure.
Wow, such a wonderful scent !!!
Yesterday I had the chance to smell it and I've loved it very much.
DOES ANY BODY KNOW WHEN THIS CAN BE PURCHASED IN THE US?.AND WHERE?...ONE OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME IT SMELLED DIVINE ...I GOTTA HAVE IT...
I really really am taken to another place with this one. Even without knowing the notes I could tell about almonds, cherries, vanilla and something earthy as well.
Amarena Whim delights you with almonds at the very first moments, let it settle - get the cherries on earthy base. It's like dark park I used to have close to house I lived when I was small and nice little girl. This park was my favorite place to take a walk and the earthy note in Amarena Whim smells just like soil I could smell when I was hiding in cypresses near old, mossy green headstones (actually there was monument, but I'm not sure)- it's misterious, somewhat pleasant- that's where my romance started.
It's jucy (cherry), thick (vanilla, one of the best vanilla I sniffed recently), misterious, dark and definitely enchanting... Not sexy, but romantic and attractive.
Bottle of 30 ml (I saw only those in my local store)is small and cute- the flowers adorned to it makes me want it for myself, so I hope to get it after Feminite du Bois. <3
4 miss natasha: I've got Amarena Whim from London in February.
This one is something absolutely different from any fragrance I've ever had before. It is for true THE cherry fragrance lovers: cherry note is pretty strong and extremly pleasant. Amarena Whin can also be worn as added warm note to some other fragrances. I use it whith V from Valentino.
