This is a dry, woody version of the original. It's not sweet like the original, though the openings are similar (anisic, in particular). I agree that after a while you are left with a rather bare wood smell, though most designer fragrances these days have a similar issue (for me), and some of those fragrances sell for a lot more money. So, the opening might be of interest to the aficionado, but after a few hours it's of little interest, though it's reasonably natural smelling. It has good longevity and at least decent projection ("sillage"). I think I'd rather wear something like 101 Men by Giorgio Valenti, which may not be as exciting in the opening, but has a more interesting and dynamic base (it too has a detectable anise note, though not as strong).

nas2000 already told the truth: This one is essentially the same as the original male interpretation of Lolita Lempicka's style. Probably brought out to be resold to those who like the original male version. But really, there's no need to buy it again.

What a gorgeous reinterpretation this is of the original! FRESH has been done to death, and beyond, but here Lolita Lempicka breathes new life into a jaded and trite concept. Where usually "fraicheur" just means a lighter concentration of the same juice (or the addition of "calone" or watery notes) here it is softer, but utterly different from the original...

I had a sample spray of LL AM and gifted it to another member in a swap, maybe I need to go back now and retry it again; because THIS is just amazing! The opening has a clean (almost sheer) twist of lemon along with really GREEN notes (galbanum, mayhaps?) and the sharp bitter elegance of ivy leaves. Mmmmm...but it morphs quickly into a slightly less anisic incarnation of Au Masculin with a softer violet note that accents, rather than muddles, the warmth of the spiciness. The original (from what I remember) was a bit "too much" for me when I first tried it...loud, sticky sweet, boozy and bordering on obnoxious. However, here in FRAICHEUR, it has been toned way down and though it's less gourmand, it is still rather yummy! I believe the drydown here is what won me over to this particular version as the vanilla (so prominent in the original) is gone, and it lands flawlessly on a blend of three lovely woods (cedar mostly, along with smooth cashmere wood and a lovely olive tree note) with a very arid and somewhat soapy vetiver. Sometimes the guy who is flawlessly dressed to the nine with personality out to here *extends arms full length* is not quite as interesting (or as sexy) as the more quiet guy with the sweet smile and more subtle charms...

Sillage: good
Longevity: very good
Overall: 4/5

I so agree with *jasonx* about the whole "falling in love with the son of your enemy" thing!! Regardless of how you feel about the original, give this "boy" a chance! I think he favors his Mother, more than his father, but he is unequivocally masculine but a bit on the softer and sensitive side (but no pansy either!) LOL

For me, this is the lighter version of Bvlgari PH. So, if you think that Bvlgari PH is too loud, bold, and mature, try Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin Fraicheur.

If you know the original, you know this one too without ever testing it. It is really a toned down Au Masculin. Starting fresher, having the same drydown but less in your face like the superb original. The simillarity without the same sillage was the reason why i sold it and stood with my lovly Au Masculin.

Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin Fraicheur.

As elemental as water, this fresh, yet softly sensual interpretation of the classic Au Masculin is a simple blend of aniseed water, enhanced with ivy green and scented with Absinthe, that will quench his thirst for intense freshness day or night.

My relationship with this one is like you're in love with a son of your enemy. Haha.
I'd had such a really bad experience with Lolita Lempicka Au Maculin (the original)so I literally stayed away from anything Lolita Lempicka. Until recently, when I wondered around in the mall sampling fragrances, the SA of Lolita Lempicka came up and offered me to try Lolita Lempicka's. Because she was so nice, I can do nothing but agree. As you knew Lolita Lempicka only had 2 male fragrances, so I had no choice but to go with Lolita Lempicka Au Maculin Fraicheur. In my mind, I was like: "ok just one spray on the test strip, get it over with, the bottle is ugly, there's nothing to get excited about!". But to my surprise, I was hooked!
This one is like a fairy tale, cliche, I know, hehe. Just one sniff, and like boom, all the lights around you turn off, the setting changes. You see yourself in white button down shirt, black pants, bare foot wondering round in a forest at night surrounding be the fire-flies. Sorry, I get carry away a bit, hehe! But this is the very first time I feel something like that about a fragrance.
The complements was really good. My 2 female friends even said that this one was a must have for me.
The longevity is good too, stay only skin for 8 hours.
The only thing I don't like about this one is I can only smell the olive in the base note. It's kinda deja vu amd boring to me. But that's the end of the road. I usually get a lot of first and middle notes of fragrances including this one. So I'm not complaining.
I've never thought I would fall for a Lolita Lempicka fragrance. Never say never, hehe.
