i really like this earthy fragrance. to me its a lighter version of lord jester's daphne. but, the fallish, autumn like feeling is still there. the spiced apples, cinnamon and nutmeg feel is in this one as well. a slight rose floral mixes in faintly. to me this is all about sweet spice. this scent is making me want to go outdoors in the crisp air and drink mulled cider for warmth. very nice. 9-10.

Chronos is the Titan of time. This mysterious scent conveys some of the allure of that lost mythos. Once again Lord Jester works wonders in the heat! This is the closest to an oriental with some spice tossed in. It opens with a candy like character and then reveals the magical and unusual florals. They are very graceful and classical, like a fine marble sculpture.

This one contains oakmoss-an ingredient that is subtle, yet makes all of the notes come together in a fantastic symphony. Its fresh enough for a man and floral enough for a woman. Its worth getting some regardless.

Chronos was the personification of time in the ancient Greek mythos. He is the second oldest entity in creation, after Chaos. He has seen it all and knows what has happened, is happening and what will happen, eventually. Many people confuse Cronus (titan father of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, etc) with Chronos. Cronus was the ruler of the worlds before Zeus, and god of the harvest. His sacred symbol was the sickle. Somehow, time (which cuts down ALL things) became muddled with The Harvester and today we have Father Time...

This scent is truly lighter than the other Lords Jester scents. Time is ancient and enduring, but anything that is older than the world we know would be a bit softened with age. This opens with something earthy, reminiscient of Demeter EDT...woods, sharp greens and spices. Only here it is more bitter and slightly spicy from the anise and the pepper. The greens are pungent, the spices warm and sweet and the wood clean. This has a very cool air to it, despite the spices and the wood. As the flowers in the heart bloom an underlying sweetness appears. The roses and jasmines are not overly thick, more in the background. The warmth of the ylang is apparent and the imortelle adds an interesting flavor to this. As it dries, it does get less sharp and becomes something sweeter, softer yet quite dry.The drydown gives a much cooler feel (time is after all indifferent to all things) with the orris and the oakmoss (my Mom smelled "hay" here!). The woody musk of the ambrette is slight, and the warmth of the benzoin and amber listed are missing to me, though it does dry sexy and sweet, but retains it's aloofness. I sprayed this on before bed last night, and fell asleep thinking of Greek temples and how beautiful Athens must have been in the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. When I woke this morning it was all but gone; just a musky sweetness remained with hints of greens and a whisper of spice. This is a great scent for winter days. It has a sharp green and I believe (but do not know) it might be too much on hot humid summer days. Late summer evenings and early fall days would work too. This scent is a wonderful blend of the beauty and the bitterness in nature, and notes that play off one another. Spices bring out florals, greens interact with resins and woods. Imortelle...immortal? Nice one, Adam!

Sillage: good then fair
Longevity: average
Overall: 3.75/5

EDCs are lesser concentrations than EDTs or EDPs, so this does not last as long as most of this House's scents. It does however, while it lasts, enchant and actually tickle my nose with its intruiging and unique character. If you want something with massive sillage or great longevity go for Demeter or Dionysus...but if you want something earthy, spicy and not too "perfumey" Chronos is your man! Or titan, or whatever...It begins strong then fades to dry sweet florals then becomes a very manly skinscent. Obviously natural, and painstakingly blended this is still a wonderful scent, and some days that is just what you want!
