It is indeed a very complex fragrance that, initially, bursts open with springtime freshness, dominated by citrus elements reminiscent of Dior's 'Eau Sauvage'. However, Lorenzo Villoresi skillfully introduces a melange of warm herb and spice notes that 'glow' with longevity and function to soothe any initial citrus piquancy.
Unlike the aforementioned Dior classic, though, Uomo developes further and far deeper, as a delicious harmony of bass notes unfold with luxurious woods sprinkled with just the right amount of musk and oakmoss to confer Italian machismo to this gem. There's something extraordinarily 'clean' about the way in which the deep notes linger and rather than becoming 'heavy' or almost chypre-like compared to the seminal Givenchy, 80s classic, 'Xeryus', Uomo remains surprisingly moderate in the so-called 'sillage'.
I do tend to find it doesn't last that long on me personally, though this is a minor detail given the overall outcomes of this special and exquisitely crafted perfume.
The gorgeous deep blue House bottle compliments the perfume perfectly with a nod to the iconography of Italian heritage and confers a statement of pure 'Class'.
I agree, too, that this is a fragrance for any day or occassion, though I personally love to wear this as a Mediterranean holiday; end-of-the-day-ready-for-the-evening fragrance, having spent a lazy day in the sun and salty sea breeze!

Uomo is the quintessential masculine fragrance. It is a Mediterranean delicacy loaded with spices. And what spices... Uomo is incisively sharp yet it doesn't burn your nose, it's rather decidedly astringent. Though one may have a different judgement about it after a first encounter, eventually it turns out as a remarkably complex blend. Still, the most gripping quality about Uomo is that this is the kind of perfume that you will enjoy wearing day after day, regardless of circumstances and occassions.
