Sirocco Lucien Lelong for women

I recently acquired a vintage bottle of Sirocco, and I just love it! I don't know exactly how old it is, but it's definitely the vintage. I love the coriander opening, such an interesting and different dry and spicy note for an Oriental style perfume, and then it gets richer, sweeter (but not too much) and deeper as the heart notes emerge.

Once the fragrance had been on my skin for a while, it began to remind me of Shalimar, in a really good way, but instead of the dark vanilla that dominates, the most prominent base note in Sirocco is oakmoss, which is one of my favorite perfume ingredients. I found this fragrance to be suitable for almost any occasion, as it is rich but understated and it never gets heavy or cloying. I am glad I got a nice big bottle, because I plan to wear it a lot!

The original scent, like most of the original Lelongs was beautiful and was intense oriental with a liberal coriander topnote.

My little vintage bottle almost gone I ventured to ebay to buy a new one. Instead of a Sirocco (a hot desert wind) it was a light scent and the oriental flavor was gone. Light floral and the website does call it "refreshing". If you're looking for sultry and dry choose the Tauer scent.

I have not tried all the current line from Lelong, but this one does not measure up. It is also a cologne and not long-lasting at all.
