Snowcake is warm and sophisticated sweet smell of marzipan, cuddly and warm during the harsh winter. Irresistible marzipan - almond scent is caused by the combination of rose, cassis and benzoin. The fragrance is an imitation of the famous Lush Snowcake soap as a part of the Forum limited collections for holiday season 2010.
It is available as 30 ml EDP.
I think I ruined this fragrance for myself, and maybe forever. I totally overdosed on Snowcake soap last year because I thought it was the best thing I had ever smelled in my life. I bought about 20 bars and used it everday for months and months. Then I bought 3 smitten hand creams. I even got this fragrance and I LOVED it. I sprayed so much on myself one day that I became ill, and ever since, I just can't stand it. But I am really hoping since it's been about a year, maybe eventually I will like it again. It really is a nice marzipan rose scent, and very lovely. Just realize that Lush's perfumes are quite strong, so go easy on them!
My 2nd favorite of the Lush scents...a almondy, cozy scent!
30 inches of snow on the ground and below zero temperatures made it seem like a good day to try my decant of Snowcake. I'll say two things: I like it though I don't love it, and I can't find the almond. I've now applied it several times and, for me, it consistently opens with an extremely pleasant smell that I would call orange extract. More specifically it smells to me like an icing my grandmother used to make called Swiss Meringue, where the eggs were warmed and a bit of glycerin was added so the meringue would keep for several days. She normally flavored it with orange extract and vanilla and that's what this smells like to me. Longevity isn't particularly good: it fades to a soft almost undetectable benzoin after about 3 hours. This would probably work better layered over the lotion but I think it's too expensive for that to be necessary.
I'd suggest Tokyo Milk "Let Them Eat Cake" if you want this warm homey sort of scent. If you want to try a real almond scent you could always investigate Amandes Orientales by Montale.

The Snowcake scent is in a LUSH soap that frequently appears at Winter Holiday time, and occasionally in some other Limited Edition LUSH products. As i write this, i am wearing the Limited Edition perfume i managed to score last month (November 2010).
Snowcake does NOT contain cassis, a sweet berry which features in a number of LUSH products, such as the elusive Black Pearl scent (which i also managed to score). Nor does it contain cassia cinnamon, as some users of the product seem to think. Rather one of the fragrance components is cassie flowers (acacia farnesia), adding to its light sweetness.
LUSH fragrances are not what i would consider sophisticated. But i am quite fond of their highly personal idiosyncrasies. Snowcake has little sillage, it is definitely a skin scent. There is a certain innocence about its only slightly foody smell. I dislike smelling like candy or dessert, and while there are hints of that in Snowcake, it is also floral (rose and cassie).
While "LUSHies" associate it with WInter, it think Snowcake's light happy fragrance would be perfectly suitable for spring and summer.
I am currently wearing it spritzed on over a slathering of LUSH Potion Lotion, which is scented with almond, rose, carnation, and tangerine. Definitely making this cold, grey winter day merry and bright.
Snowcake is a soap that Lush sells only at Christmas, its really creamy and really smells like ''pâte d'amande'' (marzipan) It's sweet and soft.
