Floral Fragrance Reviews

Floral by Micallef is, briefly said, a fairly compelling and "quite-above-decent" floral chypre. Dense and powerful, discreetly masculine thanks to some nice dry, sour and dark nuances which bring Floral almost halfway a chypre and a fougère. A honest and nice-smelling tribute to classic perfumery, with all the standards correctly in place: flowers (humid, rich, well executed), aldehydes, herbs, benzoin, sandalwood, resins, cloves, perhaps lavender... as much good as a bit dull and derivative. But still, as I said, good. The drydown ""falls" a bit on the industrial-camphor side for a while, but it's still decent enough and lasts quite long.

"Floral" is truly a monstreous floral fragrance. I would suggest looking to the notes Miss Guerlain posted as the ones listed here do not do any justice to what you are going to smell.
As for me, there were only a faint aroma of figs whatsover. Upon applying I was instantly hit in the face with out-of-this-time strong floral scent, I think lovers of vintage florals will really appreciate this. The most dominating note on me are the combo of orange blossom and galbanum. The first moment seems a bit soapy and sharp, but very soon it settles to a very warm, animalic musky floral. I could even compare drydown to Shalimar as both of them gave me the same skanky feeling with citrus/vanilla/musk somewhere mixed in.

I have to say that this was truly impressive. Silage was huge first, but soon it settled to an elegant moderate silage not overpowering everything. Staying power is more than excellent - 12 hours and still very strong.

Worth every $.

Definitely power bouquet! It is a bowl of ripe figs on a sunny day surrounded by the flower garden. It also has woody notes and slight smokiness to it.
The finish is composed of strong florals such as lilly of the valley, geranium (agree) and tuberose.
Silage and longevity +++, and not for the faint of heart; mature scent.

An unusual cocktail of spiced florals. The unusually *STRONG* spicy african orange blossoms in this edp really knocks me to the wall with real raw power. Longevity: Very long. Sillage: Very strong. Besides orange blossom, raspberry & fig missing notes are: TOPNOTES: Bergamot, Galbanum. MIDDLE: GERANIUM, ROSE, JASMINE. Base: White musk.
