At the time you spray this, you have to shut your nose because there comes a blast of everything, but bergamot and alcohol above all. It makes my nose tickle. This is only for 1 second though, and immediatly you smell something perfume-like. Amber with some sweet/sour flowers (the ylang most prominent, with a bit of rose to accompany her) stays maybe for 5 minutes when the ylang and rose go to the background and the o so powdery Iris comes in, accompanied by some sensual (indian?) jasmine. The bottle looks like a treasure and my box came with a CD in it? Wonder what that is... Will tell you as soon as I check it. Nevertheless, I'm very glad I made the splurge and bought this treasure - blind! A very mysterious and interesting fragrance.
a very chemical and artificial start (cistrus-y like toilet-freshener) that then leads to something bearable, but not spectacular. After a couple of hours it turns yummy, but who's to wait that long to get there!
just to let people know these pictures are mixed up. This is vanille aoud's picture not the amber one. see vanille A. link for the true amber eau bottle. May even explain a review done on here by TURQUOISE
At first application, I wasn't so sure about this one. It had a foul quality to it. Must have been something still on my skin that reacted badly to the fragrance. Luckily that only lasted a few minutes and was gone within 5 minutes. But give it 25 minutes and this fragrance turns warm, spicy and exotic. There is a bit of a powder underlayer too. The floral notes of ylang ylang & iris tempered the amber in the drydown. Good lasting power too. It's too bad it's so expensive, otherwise I'd buy it immediately.
This is quite different to other amber fragrances I have tried. It is warm and rich, as you would expect for an amber, but is also very floral. In fact the floral notes predominate. It is complex and very well blended, and to me no particular notes stand out, and it lasts well. Very nice, but don't expect a straight amber as the name suggests.
This is warm, oriental and very seductive perfume.
I feel clearly jasmine and bergamot as a top notes, rose in the middle and warm amber and musk as base.
Warm, spicy and long lasting....similar to Opium, Cinnabar and these types of perfumes.
Like it very much - definitely good choice for winter.
