Promesse de l`Aube MDCI Parfums for women

Womanly, pretty and slightly tropical (without calling to mind sunscreen). This is beautiful, classy and... a little too safe for my taste. Might be a good everyday scent for a lady who lives in the tropics as the sillage is soft and the scent not overwhelming. I'm saving the rest of my decant for my next Hawaiian vacation.

Incredibly smooth ylang-jasmine, vintage-smelling but not at all dirty. Thankfully the citrus is not prominent on my skin. Very subtle and classy, the sort of scent a real lady would wear!

it smells a lot like Fresh Sake, but sake is more intense and costs less....

Random thoughts I'm having with this fragrance:
-The opening is very similar to Guerlain's Philre d'amour with its big BOOM of a citrus jolt
-Francis Kurkdjian was meant to be my soulmate, but since we've never met I make do with his awe-inspiring fragrances
-the Execs at MDCI need to put their heads together and come up with a way for their amazing fragrances to last more than 3-4 hours
-I thought En Couer en Mai was this line's best scent, but now i'm not so sure
-This fragrance reminds me of when I woke up in a 350 year old farmhouse in the rolling vineyards of Provence. The morning dew had not yet lifted, the surrounding hills were various shades of purple, and everything was serene, pure, and fresh
-I would give this a 'Love' and a place on my perfume shelf if it were longer lasting and had more sillage. sigh.

Creamy-sweet, with a warm, skin-like intimacy to it, "Promesse de l'Aube" opens on a fresh, lemony, whipped mousse impression, before developing into a jasmine-flowers-floating-in-cream waxy freshness, drying-down into the nutty, hazy warmth of tonka bean and vanilla, evoking more the feel of crushed beans in the hand, than buttercream frosting. "Promesse..." reminds me a little of Chanel's "Allure", but where "Allure" develops into something oily-rich and heady, "Promesse..." slowly warms in the background and remains soft, quiet and creamy until drydown. It makes me think of glowing, early morning light and the coziness of a soft, luxurious robe. This is a "memory of Mommy" fragrance; nostalgic, comforting and lovely.
