Maitre Parfumeur EAU DE MURE is yet another creation from this house which I don't really understand. This perfume features a strong but not very sweet berry note, but I cannot really wrap my nose around what else is going on. Perhaps a good comparison would be salted plums? In any case, this is definitely not a standard fruity floral, nor a gourmand fragrance. I wouldn't call this an oriental or a woody composition either. To be honest, it's rather weird, without being abhorrent. On the other hand, it's also not very appealing.

The plastic top to my sample vial broke off, so I was obliged to use my entire sample today, and I still do not know what to say. I have had similar reactions to other creations from this house, which is leading me to suspect that MPG is simply not for me. Although I have liked (not loved) a couple of their offerings, they seem more often than not to produce perfumes that are unique but which I really have no desire to wear. Désolée.

Oh dear, this is not for me, not at all. Initially, on my skin it smelled like regurgitated baby milk mixed with faux berry flavour and salty body odour. It actually made me dry heave.

It does settle into a drier experience, kind of like the stain of spilled milky berry drink in the carpet that someone tried to absorb the moisture out with salt. Bearable but not pleasureable.

I think this is one of those perfumes which choses its owner and woe betide anyone else who tries to usurp its identity.

This fragrance is not for everyone. It's a kind of salty elegant fruit. When I wear it I feel myself a cold aristocratic woman ))))

So, after reading that this is "floral fruity" I expected this to be a very sweet and girly perfume, but boy how wrong I was.

This is how it smells to me:
It's been raining all day, it's cold outside, the grass and woods are wet and there is a large bush of red berries, just ready to be eaten. I take the berries and eat them, they are sour, at the beginning it's hard to cope their sourness, but after a moment it get's more and more addictive and I eat, eat till all my mouth is sour. And the berries with the wet grass&woods make this fresh, cold smell in the air, very natural and beautiful.

This is how Eau de Mure smells to me - cold, but so addictive. Not for girlie girls. And yes, very mouthwatering, oh. I really love this.

This fragrance was something different form my original expectations: on me, it smells more like a berry drink, sparkling, but not very sweet. After that it becomes a bit floral and quite musky, and gets even muskier with dry-down. Not a conventional berry-scent for me! It seems this is one of those fragrances that may grow on you or you'd never like it. It wasn't warm or inviting, more of a "cold" fragrance. I read that the creator of the line made his perfumes in the old French tradition. I could see that reflected in the bottle's design: very heavy cut old-style flacon, but I don't find it very attractive. nevertheless, I think it's a very interesting fragrance, not very mainstream.
