MPG FRAICHE BADIANE opens brightly but the anise makes this not just another citrus aromatic. I have to say, though, that I find the Creed water-like base the most dominant of the notes. I have applied FB a few times, and each time I am reminded of various Creed water offerings. I am not saying that FB is identical to anything in the Creed line, but very similar, at least in the drydown, to a few (some of them have "water" in their name...).
Because of the base, FRAICHE BADIANE has good staying power, but it does not really smell like a patchouli-based perfume to me. Nonetheless, I like this citrus composition and would consider adding it to my collection. Definitely universal, not just for men!
