Marc Jacobs Men (for men)

I don't find Marc Jacobs Men (MJM) boring at all. I find it different. MJM is a light fragrance. It does not project very far from the user but I've gotten compliments every time I wear it so others do take note of it.

MJM opens like an aquatic. I don't detect coconut but there is a very slight woody essence (cypress perhaps) and green fig in the opening. The fig is not sweet and not bitter either. It's somewhere in between.

A light, warm, floral-woody aura then develops around MJM. It reminds me somewhat of a lighter Armani Code at this point. It is very pleasant and what I consider mature & sophisticated. I think it is the combination of tonka bean, patchouli, and cedar.

I don't think the college age and younger crowd will appreciate MJM as much as those who are career and professionally oriented. MJM is NOT a club scent nor is it an attention grabber. MJM does not shout rashly but sensuously whispers to announce its presence.

I, too, think MJM can be worn by men and women and that both will appreciate it. I wear it to the office as part of my fragrance rotation in the spring, summer, and early fall. Because it is light, I find MJM to be more a daytime, warm weather fragrance.

Maddyrain

An uninspired and boring fragrance. Although not listed, I'm sure there's coconut in it. I cannot smell any fig, but maybe there's some underneath the coconut.

Longevity is also a shame. Very light. Actually, it reminded Must de Cartier... like a light and boring variation.

i got this as a sample from macy's & i actually think this could be unisex. it's not very masculine, but its not feminine either. anyway, i have a love-hate relationship with this perfume. at first sniff, the cypress and watery fig notes are soothing, green, and so lovely. at other times, it's just plain nauseating. it's one of those perfumes where you think, "oh, this is weird...but i like it!" i'm still undecided on this one. but i definitely think its worth a try at least, the fig is very interesting here.

Is it just me, or does this smell exactly like Cartier's DECLARATION (the original version)...?

Perfect Fragrance.
Those who love Philosykos by Diptique will love that one.
Opens with cedar and moss, the drydown is fruity and zesty.
I think this fragrance should be categorized as unisex as smells better on ladies and oily skin than men, especially those with dry skins.
longevity: 8 points on 10.
bottle design 9 points on 10.
I love it!

A very boring scent. I don't know why, but to my nose, every ingredients in this bottle combines and turns into something full of coconut smell. So scare of this scent.
