Sissi from Marc de la Morandiere is a classic feminine perfume launched in 1992. The composition features orange blossom, Egyptian calendula, ylang-ylang, jasmine, rose, narcissus, violet, vetiver, iris, sandalwood, oak moss, vanilla, musk and amber.
It is available as 30 and 100 ml EDP.
I can't decide how I feel about this one. First impression is lots of narcissus and orange blossom, very very sweet. The ylang makes it dark and the jasmine gives it a mildly bitter edge. Over all the florals are pretty and I do love my floral bouquets
I wish there was more oakmoss or more vetiver to brighten it up and tamp down the sweetness. Maybe it needs warmer weather to bloom.
And Sissi did indeed blossom in the warmth. The florals became less sweet and more distinct as individual blooms. It is not a bright or crispy chypre as the amber and sandal overcome the moss easily. Overall quite lovely and a scent that markedly improves on drydown. Feminine, floral and different.
