Now, you can not only listen to Mariah Carey, but also smell through her first fragrance. A smell always reveals our desires and thoughts better than words. This oriental fragrance by Mariah Carey, named M, is captured in a very romantic and delicate bottle, designed by Jean Antretter. It was designed by two perfumers - Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong.
About her first fragrance Mariah says: "For me, creating this scent was like creating a song - it takes many notes to compose a fragrance. It's like a beautiful melody."

The opening is unusual, as we can say by the composition: it is a combination of sweet marshmallow and fresh sea notes. The heart unites the sweet Tiare flower and gardenia. The oriental character is growing stronger with time and the drydown reveals amber patchouli and Morocco incense.
The fragrance comes as 15ml parfum, 30m, 50ml and 100ml eau de parfum, and with a matching body lotion. M is a new fragrance and it was introduced in 2007.

i loved the idea of smelling like a marshmallow at sea, but on me, i really only end up smelling the salt. has anyone else had this issue? i sniff the bottle sometimes, but wearing it does nothing good for me.

I think this is lovely, besides the elegant bottle, this has a lot of class. It isn't that sweet on me, Its just really good. I find myself applying it at the store tester all the time. Marshmellow - sure, I almost get vanilla or something like that. Pure and innocent with this one..

I absolutely love it!! I love butterflies so naturally I adore the bottle. The scent is really feminine and pretty. Nice yummy marshmallows roasting in an open fire, that's what comes to mind when I smell it on my wrist.

Very flat.. Can smell something sweet (marshmallow) from the beginning till the end.. İt does not change and cannot detect any flower note, although it has some flower notes in it. I find it quite cheap unfortunately..

I love this fragrance I love smelling like candy, so does my fiancee! hehe

When M first came out, I was VERY intrigued by the notes- marshmallow and sea breeze- yum. But unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. This is 90% marshmallow. Nothing more- I wish sooooo bad this would have been toned down a little so the other notes could shine. VERY VERY sweet and not really anything special.

Very light and soft, with the marshmallow not initially apparent. Nothing special. It's an inoffensive fragrance but barely lasts 10 minutes. A real dissappointment.

I love this fragrance, I think it`s quite interesting. There`s not sweets in first plan, on my skin. I can smell incense, patchouli and sea breeze at first, with discrete sweet notes and Tiare flower that comes later on, very close to the skin. Sea breeze and salty air has presence all the time, conception is very addictive and seductive. I would really like to test golden version with pure perfume, I think that one must be adorable! Purple bottle is beautiful too, so girlish and romantic!

i personally prefer my marshmallows burnt...i was just saying that if there IS going to be a marshmallow note in a perfume i would like mine to smell like BURNT marshmallow...

Anyway, I love this fragrance. I don't know where people are getting burnt marshmellow from. I love the smell though. It doesn't smell like any sort of food. Definently not marshmellows. I love this perfume. It's the best one I've ever had. I love Mariah and her perfume.

now, if it listed 'burnt marshmallow' i might want to try it...burnt marshmallows are delicious. my sister might like this, she wears gourmand foody scents well.

I love it! It comes off as pretty strong at first but so be mindful not to spray on too much. But after it settles, it is just simply irresistable.

The bottle is lovely and very girlie, I love the amethyst jewel tone of purple. Even tho, I love the bottle, I don't love the fragrance held within. M to me does smell faintly of marshmellows, violets, citronella and cinnamon. It is sweet, but not overtly so. M lies very close to the skin. One would have to get very close to even smell it. There's something in M that I'm very allergic to. I'm allergic to citronella and I'm sure that M has it listed as an ingredient. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm sure many will love it.

I would have to disagree on the fragrance design. It's a bottle with a butterfly slapped on it. It's not a surprise to me. It's too sweet for my taste.
