Tribute for Men by Mary Kay is a Woody Chypre fragrance for men. Tribute for Men was launched in 1991. The fragrance features lime, sandalwood, patchouli, mandarin orange, vetiver and bergamot.
a strong one here..my second mary kay perfume and am not too amused..but it kind of grew on me..had it stashed in the back of my closet for months when i recently tried it on again and it was not as bad. lasts for hours..
My boyfriend has a bottle of this, though its green for some reason (I'm thinking that it must be because he used to leave it in the center console of his car long before he met me) LOL. I have since educated him about how the chemical composition totally alters when cologne or perfume is exposed to heat. It smells hideous, plain and simple. On him it smells like an old lady who got pissed on by a feral cat. Hideous! Avoid this. Haha
A great cologne for a formal ocassion i own this and dont regreat it, i can picture the smell wearing a tuxedo or a tie with it.
A woody chypre that feels like an aromatic fougere given that these kind of notes interact with the ones mentioned in the pyramid, mandarine / orange, bergamot and lime. Still, I cannot get clear notes around these except for a distinctive hesperidic note which can be lemon, or orange, or a derivative of mandarine; spices are more evident in the mid notes (I can't identify them), base notes resemble that of classical barbershop scents - sandalwood and vetiver, what about musk? In these terms, Tribute is among the stinky ones in disguise for they morph for the better if given some time. At the risk of not being precise, its originality reminds me of scents like Jules, Quorum, Oscar de la Renta and One Man Show.
Justice be done to this survivor from better times, for it is at odds at what is being in fashion, a good thing for me, indeed. As a matter of fact, I once considered it lineal and not FBW but after a year of trying releases I came to the conclusion this is among the ones that do not abound..
it is just nasty and strong it's for old men
I accidentally got to sample this on my hand yesterday. Tribute is not a fragrance for wallflowers or for people whose occupations require stealth, as whoever wears this will be smelled 500 feet away, with no wind. After it dries down from the bergamot, it smells a lot like an earthy pile of fresh mown lawn clippings.
