Matthew Williamson Sheer Fragrance Reviews

Seeing as I have owned this quite a while and used up more than half my bottle I thought it was high time I reviewed this little gem.

I have no idea if this is still in production, I do see it occasionally for sale still but often discounted so I'm thinking it probably isn't.

On me this starts off fresh tea, slightly floral (though not heavy white florals more fresh florals) on top of a wonderful spicy ginger base which I love!! This cloud of fresh tea spices follows me around all day and remains linear throughout. It deepens up perhaps ever so slightly (I must mention as I have previously often perfumes go quite musky on me and any spice/musk will be brought forward)on others this may develop more, and any florals may be more apparent at the start. In other words my chemistry is destined to make the most of the ginger note here!

Those who love Jennifer Lopez 'Still' should give this one a try. It has a similar Earl Grey tea aspect, however this one is heavier on the spices. That being said this is in no way heavy, it manages to remain a 'fresh' 'light' perfume even given the truck load of ginger (gorgeous). Quality is really good compared to most celebrity perfumes when considering the price is roughly the same if not a good bit cheaper.

Double thumbs up from me, I would advise anyone who enjoys fresh perfumes to give it a whirl. Probably wouldn't appeal to those who only like the sweet ones xxx

LOVELY. When I tried it the very first time
I got a very heavy spicy smell, not fresh spicy,
but peppery way too much though.
About 20 minutes later when I already dismissed
the scent,I asked my daughter who rarely use
perfume if she bought some new fabric softener,
cause something smell so wonderful.
No,was her answer and I see it was my "awful"
scent who smelled.
Complete different,very fresh,clean and soft.
Nice surprice and nice price.
The scent changes a lot from time to time and
with a half full bottle left,I just smell a
fresh spicy note in the beginning.

Very soft pretty floral, like the name indicates , a sheer floral, a bit spicy, it starts off woodsy but it doesn't last at all, it is lovely, easy to wear, smells great also, without being a bold scent. Makes me want to explore the brand more...soft floral, a refreshing change from all the sweet stuff out there !! I like wearing it to bed also..
I don't find it similar at all with Maitresse which has a musky/dirty aura IMO.

@NIKKIMOUSE I used to own Maitress also but in my opinion this is very different from it. Maitress is muskier/sexier this one is more fresh tea and florals with a hint of spice. So I would say no nothing alike, Hope this helps :)

Beautifully fresh; unsuspecting; received this in a swap and it was a wonderful recommendation. It keeps changing on me from a slightly powdery, almost unisex frag. to a richly fresh white floral with hints of tea. But it is one of those scents that you have to keep checking in with, as it reveals itself like a chameleon, always changing for the better. Double thumbs up!

Can anyone compare this to Agent Provacateur's Maitress .... seems similar

Bought a bottle of this a few weeks ago for no more scientific a reason than I liked the look of the box. I often buy perfume blind, as in untested. I have had the occasional disaster from time to time, but this time I was not disappointed.
Lovely stuff, this.
It sort of reminds me in some ways of Bulgari Omnia; it is gentle and refined, perfect for the daytime.
It lasts well on my skin and gives me a just washed feeling, almost having the scent of line dried cotton sheets and the aroma that comes off them when you iron them very hot!
And the price; well I paid next to nothing for it, which makes it all the sweeter.
Sligly musky, lovely ginger, green top notes.
I am very happy with this addition to my perfume wardrobe.
Go on, give it a try! :o)

I'm in love with this scent. It's a beautiful floral scent that is somewhat oriental to my nose. Even though it can sometimes come across a bit powdery on first application it really does make me feel rather seductive when i'm wearing it! hehe!

Sheer delivers its name, nothing more, nothing less.

It is quite adorable (thanks for the sample Guusje), perfect summer scent, very well balanced indeed, spot on.

This is fresh, feminine with subtle flowers (mainly magnolias and linden) and a little fruity; thank god it is never swings to the teenager side.

Not a very impressive sillage or staying power. At this price range most perfumes smell like synthetic sugar or plastic whereas this one can call itself a perfume.

Highly recommended for a cheerful summer feeling.

Gorgeous, gorgeous adult floral. Sexy, seductive and feminine.
