Siwa Memo for women

Memo SIWA is a low-key, slightly oriental fragrance with a barely perceptible popcorn note--I think. I actually smell something closer to sandalwood, which is not listed among the notes, and my only other popcorn note sniffing experience has been with MISS DIOR CHERIE, where it seems quite a bit more noteworthy.

I definitely do not detect anything even vaguely resembling aldehydes in this composition, and the violet leaf escapes me as well. Whiskey? Hmmm...that one is also MIA. In addition, the longevity and sillage are not very good, which leads me to believe that this is a dilute solution, not an edp.

All in all, SIWA is not very memorable to me.

A tamer version of Musc Ravageur. First on, it's soap and powdered vanilla extract. It warms up to a vanilla musk with the hint of cinnamon, without actually smelling like cinnamon. There's just a warm spiced feeling to it. Musc Ravageur goes plastic on me after the fabulous beginning, so this would be a fair alternative and without the plastic notes. Still, in the end, it's a nice vanilla musk, comforting, but not exciting. I sure wish I could smell the whiskey and popcorn notes: I don't even get aldehydes or violet leaf.

Have tested this twice now. Very pleasant warm vanillic white musk. Worth trying as that sort of comfort scent...and it's hard to argue against a haunting of whiskey and popcorn in a comfort formula. Still very hard to find in the US.
