Coeur de Fleur by Miller Harris is a Floral fragrance for women. Coeur de Fleur was launched in 2000. The nose behind this fragrance is Lyn Harris. The fragrance features mimose, iris, amber, raspberry, sweet pea, peach, madagascar vanilla and egyptian jasmine.
This is a lovely, well-blended peachy floral scent, in the same vein as J'adore EdT, although perhaps a bit less potent-
The dry-down is heavenly!
I was just about to buy it. I tested it on a paper, I sprayed it on my skin, I was on my way to the counter with my bottle to make a purchase, and then I sniffed my wrist again.
A U turn towards the shelf, the box ended up being put right where it was.
Coeur de Fleur is a very strange fragrance, it sometimes shifts into a lovely, floral bouquet, and sometimes into something stuffy and unpleasant. I blame the jamsine note, it took me a while to figure out what it was that made the fragrance smell so harsh and unpleasant on me. The jamsine here is quite heavy and I would say that it is definitely one of the least interesting interpretation of it I had come accross so far.
The fragrance gets so much better once jasmin is out of the way, this is when you get the lovely mimosa, sweet pea, orris, the fragrance gets quite delicious with the peachy note in it. But, somehow it does not make it up for the terrible start for me.
Coeur de Fleur is a lovely peach fuzz floral. The mimose is balanced and clean, the peach is soft and dreamy, the orris is powdery. All blend seamlessly to create a wonderful feminine all-rounder.
However, Coeur is also very discreet and lies very close to the skin which is a shame considering how pretty and gauzy it it.
Since I also don't find Coeur especially unique or memorable or even emotionally engaging I would not purchase a bottle for myself. If I received this as a gift however, I would wear it quite happily, confident in its womanly appeal.
Very feminine, smooth, sweet scent. The note of the peach is more apparent, at least to my nose. It doesn't have long lasting power, but as it stays on the skin enhances a powdery, subtle, flowery scent really delicate, that brings in mind summer, but it could be worn in most seasons and has something childish in it. It reminds me of a just bathed baby. 10/10/09
Like a Valentine bouquet in the shape of a heart, Coeur de Fleur offers sweets, but this is not the tooth-piercing sugar rush blasting from so many candied fragrances today. I’m more of a “floral girl” than a “fruity girl” (to use a distinction we Fragranticistas like to make in our chats) but I appreciate the fresh, never dominating mix of peach and raspberry in CdeF.
In fact, Coeur de fleur combines the dulcet tones of four different scent families: fruit, floral, gourmand, and resin. Jasmine and sweet pea hold up to the fruit, while mimosa and iris add just a hint of earthiness. There must be only enough vanilla and amber to anchor the other sweets; neither note stands out on its own, but instead they harmonize to create a slightly peppered, cream base. As the name suggests, flowers compose the heart the blend, and I believe they give it a timeless appeal.
The dry down is what I call “clean sweet”—a category I’ve coined to describe the refreshing character of a few timeless floral scents such as the original versions of “L’Air du Temps” and “Aniaïs Anaïs,” fragrances that defied trends and typologies. While both are drier than Coeur de Fleur, I find that the three share a sort of olfactory integrity.
Coeur de Fleur pays tribute to the spectrum of sweetness available in fragrance, a variety of distinct elements too often blended elsewhere into a heavy, one-note goo. While I prefer other Miller Harris concoctions, such as the spicy, rich Fleur orientale, or the yummy, dirty l’Air de rien, I would recommend Coeur de Fleur to fruity-floral lovers. It has decent sillage--not too loud--and it lasts 3-4 hours. This chic, sophisticated interpretation of perfumery’s sweet gamut demonstrates the benefits of using restraint to achieve fragrant depth and dimension.
