Initiation by Molyneux is a Oriental Floral fragrance for women. Initiation was launched in 1990. Top notes are aldehydes, gardenia, mandarin orange, peach, bergamot and brazilian rosewood; middle notes are carnation, tuberose, jasmine, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley, rose and narcissus; base notes are honey, amber, patchouli, coconut, civet, oakmoss and vetiver.

Ah well, it sounded just right for my taste- with civet honey narcissus tuberose oak moss and an array of promising flowers oriental and chypre base notes. I indulged in a blind buy. I so wish I had cause to love and praise this, but.... It starts off as a soft warm floral that is well blended or even muddled so no single note stands out. It soon turns into a mediocre scratchy muguet with a hint of so-so gardenia in a bland floral medly with no detectable vetiver, oak moss, honey, civet, patchouli, etc. Alas, I will put it out to swap or sell.
