Aoud Safran begins with medicinal strength as do most of Montale´s aouds. Then the saffron and a bit of rose appear.
In comparison to Black Aoud AS contains much, much less rose and honey-amber notes.
In comparison to White Aoud AS contains no vanilla/tonka notes.
It is somewhere in between. A very nice aoud variation neither really dark nor particularly feminine. Unisex and as strong and long-wearing as is usual for Montale aouds.

well. i kinda like it. Gives me the impression as if I sniffed into a box of incense stick and a bottle of rose oil at the same time. The saffron seem to put a hold on the roses and the oud, keeping the two in balance.

Remind me a lot Attar with a slightly plus safran and slightly minus sandalwood.
They are brothers, nearly twins! Take off the sandalwood and add safran...that's it. I prefer Attar but this one is a winner for my skin! As I can't buy ALL perfumes in the world, I would buy Attar and not this one as they are similar.

terrible, very spiritual and dark scent, i mean strong and very hot and smoky, not the kind of scent which suits to young girls and boys immatures
