Vanilla Extasy by Montale is a Oriental Vanilla fragrance for women. The nose behind this fragrance is Pierre Montale. The fragrance features jasmine, ylang-ylang, apricot, sandalwood, mahogany, benzoin and vanilla.
Another Montale with that very harsh, scratchy note that almost burns my nose hairs. I was disappointed in this one. Montale is very hit or miss with me. Some I love (e.g, Vanille Absolu), some I just don't get at all. :0/
How funny, I tested Vanilla Extasy today without having been reading the reviews. I logged in to write a review and to say how similar it is to Flowerbomb, but I see others have also noticed the obviously haunting similaritiy of the 2 perfumes.
However it was Flowerbomb who stole my heart first so I will stick to it, I honestly think it has better longevity despite of not being a niche.
I like Vanilla Extasy, it is a very nice, deep, sweet but not too cloying take on the ever so popular vanilla. Good longevity and sillage. Great for nights out and for cooler days, very easy to wear and likeable but after trying Sweet Oriental Dream and Mukhallat, Vanilla Extasy is a bit of a quiet one to me.
I am still in the process of testing this line, but Mukhallat and Sweet Oriental Dream remain my favourites out of Montale`s oriental vanilla offerings, each of them are one of a kind and incredible sillage monsters.
I agree, it's very easy to wear. You can wear this one in winter and in summer, too, because it's not too heavy (as Sweet Oriental Dream is) and not too sweet. I mostly feel apricot marmelade in this one. Very eatable, fresh and deep (because of the benzoin?) at the same time. Sillage is medium (it's a 'come closer to me if you want to eat me' scent, I think:)) and longevity is great. I use my little sample together with Bvlgari Petits at Mamans, on my skin they work well together.
Mmm! I like this! It's a deep strong vanilla with benzoin and, to my nose, spices. It could be the special vibe of benzoin. I smell no apricot, only a faint fruit edge and nearly no flowers. It sets on my skin as pure vanillic-resin drydown. Sillage is close to the skin and longevity is good. I do find similarities with Flowerbomb, but it's like an echo on the bomb.
hate this, too sweety and velvety, red fruits and vanilla , i dont like at all
Pretty, but rather like Flowerbomb on me. Except, despite being a Montale, Vanilla Extasy's lasting power isn't as good as Flowerbomb's!!
A nice, comforting and delicious apricot-vanilla scent. Easy to wear and easy to like. The apricots smells juicy and fresh and the vanilla is not at all heavy. I think it is suitable for all year round, fresh and easy enough for summer, but still warm and nice for the winter. Whenever you are in an apricotmood... even if I have to admit that I´m not in that kind of mood so often. The woods in it make it feel a bit more exclusive and grown-up... Like it, but don´t love it. Last a long time...
so, i've come to the conclusion that i LOVE benzoin. as soon as i smelled this on my wrist, i was reminded of amarige mariage (which i loved) and i was instantly drawn to it. i was hoping for a more powdery vanilla, but this might be a good alternative to amarige mariage which can be a bit overpowering if you are not careful. i'm looking ahead to the fall and looking for a nice, warm scent to carry me through the chilly days. a contender for sure.
