Nanette Lepore introduces a new fragrance that will be available from September 2009. Nanette is made in the cooperation with Anne Flipo from IFF with emphasized amber in the composition.
Nanette brings pink pepper, rose petals and neroli at the top, followed by rose absolute, violet and lily-of-the-valley at the heart. Base notes combine amber with incense and hot cedar wood. A touch of the violet in the composition is dedicated to the name of her 11 year-old daughter.
The collection includes three bottles: 7,5ml (0.25oz) roller ball edp; 30 (1.0oz) and 75ml (2.5oz) edp, along with 100ml (3.4oz) lotion.
The bottle of Nanette perfume is made out of heavy crystal, very elegant, created before the composition itself was blended. Its form represents the romance of Italy, and reminds of a vintage bottle seen in an antiquate shop in Florence.
The commercial campaign is done by Poppy de Villeneuve, the daughter of the famous fashion photographer Justin de Villeneuve. The photographs will be available from November in the majority of the main fashion magazines.

I just purchased this last week based on Isabella211's review. Now, that I've had a few days to get to know this beautiful perfume I can say that I loved it from the start and couldn't stop smelling my wrist! But I was haunted by the fact that it reminded me soooo much of something else in my collection. It took a little while to go over what I own to figure it out but now I know that this smells like 70% Rochas Absolu and 30% Armani Emporio Diamonds. I become obsessed with Absolu every fall, but I like Nanette better because of the incense note which doesn't dominate but definitely adds that extra little something to make the perfume sort of an enigma. LOVE it!!! My husband gave me a compliment too so this is a keeper. Thanks Isabella211 for your review which led me to this wonderful little gem!
Nanette is one of those gems when you can't stop wondering why is it so inexpensive for being such good quality. I would describe it as warm, sexy and mysterious ...a wonderful combination of incensy rose and amber. Great lasting power and sillage. Highly recommended for oriental floral lovers who prefer perfume with more depth!
I am completely obsessed with Nanette. I would do anything to have it forever. I wish they would make perfumes forever but that's not possible! :)
Anyway, if you love floral spicy, check this out. You won't regret it. Very sexy and sophisticated.
I need to buy some (I just have a sample vial) but I don't know if it's discontinued or not, does anyone know if it's still being manufactured?
Very sexy-sweet, but not girly, mature, but not old-lady like...Unexpectedly sophisticated. Bottle - gorgeous!
Real find for the money!!!
PS no vanilla there (can't stand it!)
sweetness comes from amber - world of a difference!!
This is a wonderful spicy floriental. A very peppery opening soon gives way to a beautiful melange of predominately rose, violet, amber, and incense. The incense in this is gorgeous and lends the fragrance a sexy, mysterious edge. Amber - one of my favorite notes - gives the base a dry, musky sweetness, much preferred over the vanilla overload that we've all become accustomed to. Ultimately, it stays quite close to the skin, so no need to worry about offending anyone after the boisterous opening calms down.
I agree with the previous reviewer that this is not a light, girly scent as the ad campaign suggests...it will more likely bring out your bad girl. My man loves it. ;-)
Overall impressions: very sexy, sophisticated, classic. The bottle is one of the most beautiful in my collection (if not the most beautiful). Nanette said she was inspired by a classic perfume bottle she saw while in Italy.
The price can't be beat - I got a large bottle for less than $25! At that price, even if you don't like the scent, the bottle will at least look gorgeous on your dressing table.
A must have for any woman who admires classic perfumes like Coco, or woody scents like Sensuous by Estee Lauder or the original Prada.
I love this! Lots of sweet incense; a very deep scent, and very cheap! Im surprised this doesnt cost much more! It lasts a very long time and it is a very unique and lovely scent. There is definitely a praline or chocolate/vanilla note in this. It is an Oriental Floral Gourmand. The drydown is to dieee for! I cannot live without this one! It is the perfect gourmand without being too "BS fantasy or Pink sugar". I absolutely love it! It is not a light floral or fruity perfume as the bottle and advertising might suggest :-) it is very warm, like a big hug or canoodling with your loved one. A lovely perfume, but without the powder and all the unnecessary extras, like all of NP's perfumes :-) reasonably priced and lasts a very long time :-)
Oriental Floral Gourmand
10/10
I bought the roller ball after a quick sniff...it smelled beautiful in the bottle, but once it hit my skin....
The pink peppercorn is overwhelming when Nanette is first put on. The smell made me sick every time my wrists came within a foot of my nose. I don't know if it is the chemistry of my skin, but the opening just smells awful. Once you hit the mid and base notes, Nanette turns into an absolutely beautiful perfume. The vanilla, amber and floral notes finally mix with the pink peppercorn and it smells so sophisticated. Problem is, you have to wait a good hour to two hours to hit the middle notes. I find layering this with a slightly sweeter perfume, such as Paris Hilton's "Tease" helps tone down the pink peppercorn.
Nanette is a great perfume, after 2 hours. I just can't take the opening. Once it hits the middle notes and goes into the dry down, it becomes a beautiful, sophisticated scent that I love.
unfortunately, this did absolutely nothing for me-I'm not a floral fan in general but sometimes I do find a floral that I could like or even love(Stella, which was the most amazing rose fragrance). Before I smelled Stella, I always associated rose fragrances with a sort of mediciney, old fashioned rose water scents and unfortunately, that's what I got in Nanette Lepore. All I could smell were bitter rose fragrance mixed with a spicy peppery note. Not for me. I really wanted to like it but even on the drydown, it smelled the same on me. There is no sweetness in this, none whatsoever and perhaps thats why I did not care for it. Too bad...
incensey, mysterious and unbelievably sexy. that's all you need to. out of allllllll my many perfumes, this receives the most compliments. i like to wear this on midsummer days and nights, especially when i go to the flea market. the mystical music and vintage surroundings meld well with this gorgeous perfume.
I bought this perfume untested..as I fell in love with nanette lepore (the cute pink bottle) and I thought that if Lepore had produced such a well-made perfume I'm sure this one would be nice too. And yes she did not disappoint me =) Nanette is another well-blended perfume by Lepore. It is in stark contrast with the pink bottled one as that one is very young-smelling. This perfume to me is very oriental, spicy and warm. It has that oriental floral flavour like that of YSL's Belle d'Opium (im sure there are other similar oriental perfumes to this, but opium is the only oriental perfume that comes to mind right now). However, it is wayyy softer than opium and very wearable. I dont usually wear oriental perfume as I often find them a bit too strong for my taste, but I love this one. It's very very elegant, mature but not old. The dry-down is quite beautiful although it sorta fades and blends in with your skin scent..on me, I was left with only warmness, woody tones and a touch of vanilla. I had recently passed my teen years so whenever I want to feel like a woman, elegant and mature, I spray this perfume on. It has a touch of sweetness but not cloying at all and the dry down is very warm. Great to wear at night and during winter season. Overall, this perfume is very well made and the bottle is just gorgeously elegant like the juice inside it ;)
I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance! I was convinced that there were fruity notes in it because it seemed so sweet. The pink peppercorn remained steady well into the woodsy drydown. The peppercorn is what makes this fragrance very interesting. I don't really get incense in the base notes, only vanilla. I would buy this one if it lasted longer.
Nice but forgetfull, there are so many out there similar to this one, it just blends with them , smells like vanilla to me, lacks character...
Very warm, must be the amber. Comforting like an electric blanket. Almost smells like a vanilla in there, though I don't see that as one of the main ingredients. Also, a very soft, feminine rose that is heavenly.
A sweet blast of vanilla that becomes identical to one of the most vile scents around: Le Baiser du Dragon.
My expectation for this was a light, somewhat old-fashioned floral, but that's not what I got at all. On me it was very, very spicy, but still elegant. It wasn't at all typical, but it wasn't loud and in-your-face either. It dried down quickly and I was left with a peppery, woody smell that was still feminine.
I love the smoke after the layers of frufru.
I love the neroli and pink pepper opening! The violet is prominent in the heart, but I couldn't stop smelling my wrist on the dry-down. It's the "hot cedar wood" that has me hooked. I love it.
it reminds me of a fragrance. I want to say Linstant Magic minus the beautiful powdery quality. Add a honey to it. My sister said it smells like maple syrup. A little too sweet in my opinin. Its okay but i will not be buying a bottle
Beautiful Frangrance; A little sweet but not too sweet. I tried this initially with a sample in Lucky. I had to have it. Try it you won't be dissapointed!
This is a very sweet, woody perfume and fans of the recently-released celebrity fragrances: Queen, by Queen Latifah; as well as Saint, by Kat Von D, will find this perfume quite enjoyable.
I smell blackberry, which isn't listed in the notes, as well as a lot of vanilla, and a touch of cedar and incense. I do smell the violet in the top notes, as well as the rose, though both floral notes fade quickly, leaving behind a fruity, sweet, almost cloying scent. That said, I find it quite enjoyable. It has a buttery tone that I find somewhat unique - it's almost reminiscent of butterscotch candy. The lasting power is quite decent and though I find Nanette's overall presence to be light, it has quite a bit of beautiful sillage.
The effect is lovely and though, as I mentioned previously, it does smell similar to other fragrances launched this fall, it's my favorite in the category of sweet, woody fragrances released thus far into the season. Nanette Lepore does a great bottle and this one is no exception - simple and chic, yet dazzling and glamorous.
It just hit department store shelves and I definitely recommend checking it out!
