Young and very modern American designer of Cuban origins Narciso Rodriguez has launched his first fragrances which has instantly become the hit in the US, and not only there. The new modern aroma is aimed at the modern and free woman, who is aware of her sexuality. Popularity of this fragrance (regardless of its unusual composition and a heavy character, and perhaps exactly because of that) is easy to explain because it reflects a desire of every woman to attract and seduce, and this fragrance has openly sexual character. Unusual lustful composition is created with the sensual musk in its centre, surrounded by orange, osmanthus and amber. The base unites vanilla, amber and vetiver. Intensive sharp scent with hidden and scarcely discernible densely-sweet nuance in the centre later turns into a soft and balmy powder. The aggression disappears and the fragrance becomes tame and gentle.
At first, in 2004 it was launched as EDT in a black bottle in pink outer box. Then in 2006 the EDP was created in a pink bottle and black outer box. The composition was changed, despite the fact that the musk note has remained in the centre of the composition. EDP has rose note in the top. The trace has become more mysterious and rich, thanks to exotic woods – patchouli and sandalwood. Both variances of the fragrance can be described as floral chypre with intensive musk nuance, only the first one is sharper and more aggressive, while the second one is sweeter and softer. The creators of these fragrances are Christine Nagel and Francis Kurkdjian.

I love this. Just so perfect. There are only few fragrances that I will repurchase, and the minute I bought this lovely, I knew it won't be my last. Get lots of compliments when wearing this.
I can’t really do a review of NR:EdT without mentioning how crazy popular this thing is, and it makes a certain amount of sense. NR:EdT is a syrupy orange blossom accord overlaid on a super!musk base. Animalic sexiness married to syrupy sweet – no wonder this thing's a winner! It’s a very pretty fragrance. I’d even go so far as to say it’s an honestly good fragrance: uncomplicated, linear and loud, but generally good.
As for me, we all know how I am with sweetness; Sweeties and I have complicated relationship. NR:EdT falls squarely in the category of “super popular fragrances everyone says smells fabulous on me, but to which I am mainly indifferent.” It is tragic, my friends. I need more stonking Orientals in my life.
This review is for the EDT, black bottle/pink box...
I have to be honest about this one, I like it but some days I can't smell it!
On a good day, it smells fleshy, lightly floral and it wears close to the skin...On me the orange blossom and the Egyptian musk blend amazingly well. The star of the show here is the Egyptian Musk, it is this note that makes the wearer feel naked...yes, there is this nudity and fleshiness in NR, that's what makes it so different and that's what all the fuss is about...This fleshy aspect is subtle, and it feels natural, so natural that the wearer may think for a moment: ¨Is that it?¨ Yes, its that simple...Nudity is simple, but is so damn sexy, right? Well, its the same with NR...
I´m always very honest with my reviews, and I have to say that there are bad days when I become totally anosmic to NR...This is discouraging to me, 'cause I'm really selfconscious when it comes to projection/sillage...However, I´ve noticed that others do smell me, even when I don´t smell myself.
This is the way that musky should be. A little bit sweet but more and more sexy. Put it on my wish list !!
This one is really nice and even addictive. As for the smell, I consider it one of the best out there. Unfortunately, sillage and lasting power are poor, even in the EdP. Because it is not cheap, it becomes too expensive. It is a pity though, because I love the smell.
a long lasting well made perfume. very musky floral with some pungency. i sampled this and loved smelling this until i put it on my skin, this is not me. it didn't mix well with my chemistry and i wasn't fond of the scent at all. gave me bad vibes.
A lovely and true orange blossom with a halo of musk. Innocent and beautiful, this fragrance is perfect for the ultra feminine and the ever youthful. I give this 5 out of 5 stars for the wonderful juice and the longevity.
REVIEW OF DARRSHAN
RECENTLY BOUGHT MY 3RD BOTTLE, I HAV NO WORDS FOR THIS PERFUME, A REAL MUSKY CHYPRE FRAG, VERY RICH SMELL , EVERLASTING, WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY WARDROBE.
I want the edp so bad.please if anyone want to swap it i would gladly make a good deal for it,just let me know.
Ah...such a rich feminine and sexy perfume! Narciso Rodriguez is a sweet yet feminine fregrance as the musk and the citruses create a very fascinating and adventurous scent. This is definitely the perfume that i've gotten most compliments out of.In my opinion it can be worn all year round day and night but whenever I'm going out and I need a boost of confidence Narciso Rodriguez is my best bet!
I had the EDP version one. I fell in love at the first sniff. I find it more floral than musk. I think that the Pyramid lacks of a component that i smell very clearly: pulp of peach ( see osmoz). I find it very solar. A lot of people ask me which kind of fragrance i wear : i receive a lot of compliments. This perfume remembers me a bit Romance of Ralph Lauren now discontinued. I want to try Lovely to test similarity.
I have EDP and it's one of my all-time favorites. It's the sexiest, richest, most gorgeous Egyptian musk ever, and I adore the orange blossom top-notes. Strangely, I don't think this smells much like SJP Lovely. I can detect the classic Egyptian Musk in the undertones of both, but, on me Lovely is boozy, syruppy, and has intensive lavender. NR smells like molten gold to me. It's a truly hypnotic, and deeply sexual scent.
For animal-lovers concerned about how the musk is obtained (I'm an animal-lover as well, so I looked into this): In 1979 CITES declared the musk deer (Moschus moschiferus L)a protected species, and since then natural musk is not used in perfumery (unless its used illegally via poachers). The first synthetic musks (nitromusks) were synthesized by Bauer in 1888, and they have been modified, expanded upon, and used in perfumery ever since. Narciso For Her is a brilliant, synthetic blend, using fragrances of Linalool,Hydroxycitronellal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional,Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Farnesol, Geraniol, etc. etc. No guilt with this one; just enjoy the voluptuous beauty.
This is the expensive one and SJP Lovely is the cheap one. They have the same smell although the composition are different.
Don't laugh, but this scent(EDP) reminds me of profilactics, a smell that i like so much.... i think it's very sexy ^_^
Don't laugh, but this scent(EDP) reminds me of profilactics, a smell that i like so much.... i think it's very sexy ^_^
It's a gorgeous combo of musk and rose, but it seems like everyone's wearing it these days. I think I'll pass on buying a full bottle.
I cannot sense anything when I smell this. It is like pure water to me ... WTH !
Baby puke ? Cat Pee? I love to hear these explanations ! Please check and make sure the bottle was fresh and not old, this sometimes turns fragrances and also I have noticed in the past ,when I try too many fragrances at once the scents all mix together and I get a false impression of it! Which is sometimes unpleasant. This is a beautiful fragrance and its so crazy to think it would smell like cat pee, but I have had fragrances turn on me and I agree that it isn't pleasant once it's turned, my advice, try NR for her in a different season of the year and try the edp and edt, one might smell better than the other!
This scent smells disgusting on my skin. I can see this is a very selective scent I have passed women wearing this who smelled great. Unfortunately, im not one of the.women blessed with the chemistry for this scent. I just cant carry it off. This was.terrible on me. Test this before you buy. It was.cat per in spice for me.
it smelled amazing at first. then i caught a whiff of cat pee and it traumatized me. i couldnt eat for the rest of the day until i washed this off my wrists.
I love it on others, floraly musky orange blossom. but on me it smells like baby puke ?!@ what a shame.
Ah, now this frag is love! Just sampled the EDP version at Myer and I was completely smitten. I tried the scent at 3pm and it's already 9pm now and I can still smell it on my wrists and blouse. I love that it has a really long staying power. And smells very sexy too!
A caveat, though: this is not a scent for everyone. It can be overpowering to some and a friend once commented it could smell like a man's perfume. Kind of reminds me of Stella McCartney In Two, smells very feminine with the peonies but dries down to patchouli, amber and musk which can be offensive to other people's olfactory senses.
But may I remind you that this is a grown up scent. I am glad that it works for me. At the moment my perfume cupboard is stocked with light, girlish scents that are just too teenage-girly. And safe, if you may. This one is for a confident and empowered career woman. I thought it's about time for my scent to evolve, so i'm committing to a full bottle pretty soon.
I found out that there's a very similar perfume in Spain and it's more affordable. It's called Cyprum, by Hortensia H and you can find it in Mercadona. It's about 15€ 100ml so, it's very worth it ;)
its a very good frag but absolutly not a sexy smell its a fresh nice floral musky scent but not a sexy spice sweet smell!!!its like SJP lovly.
It's so classy and sexy. I'm in love with. I receive compliments every time I'm wearing it.One of my fav.
This fragrance does remind me of Agent Provocateur and Lovely, my friend Shelley wore it and she is such a classy lady that I had to rush out and copy her to purchase a bottle so that I could share her fragrance, a high end fragrance for a high end gal!!
I have never smelled the original perfume of this. I have an imitation oil of this. Mine is vegan, non animal musk. I don't know if this is the case with the original one.
This is an aura creating masterpiece. It is very special to me. There is a cool breezy orange blossom bouquet. There is warm, inviting musk, crisp bergamot with tinges of tangy beauty. this smells like a twin to my skin, just always there, many hours giving me sensual smiles.
I adore this scent. Mine has got to be the EDT imitation, because there are no roses or patchouli.
So happy I bought the edp this time instead of the edt, it is so beautiful and it's not very strong but it does last a long time. This is a must have fragrance! MMMMM this is so sensual and I really am more for the edp than the edt and I used to be a fan of the edt but I found it got boring to me after a while , the edp perfume is more alluring to me now.
i like the way someone described it here: sex in a bottle. i agree :)
If you didn't like the EDT, try the EDP - they fixed everything I didn't like about the EDT (too much smokiness, too much orange blossom, too masculine) and made a swoon-worthy, feminine but not too sweet, sex-in-a-bottle scent. I don't like anything too floral or too strong and I love this! In fact, there are very few scents I like. For reference, my work scent is Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh (because I need something very light, inoffensive and fresh), this gem I reserve for free time because it is stronger, but it does smolder down to a more of a skin scent. I also love the sleek blush pink bottle it comes in, and it really suits the scent.
Even if you like it-I do,its risky to wear it because people most frequently tend to find it granny-like or just appaling and off-putting because of the strenght. So wear it only if you don't care what people think:)
I used to have the EDT and I wore it a lot. It was a difficult relationship but a long one(you can find my older review below).
Now I have the EDP and I find it slightly disappointing. Fist of all, it's not as strong as the EDT and it mostly stays close to the skin.
Also, it develops in a slightly weird way. It starts quite similar to EDT, but several hours after application I can smell something alien to the composition. I guess it has more musk than the EDT hence the note slightly resembling of BO (I do use a deodorant, I assure you!). There's also a hint of cigarette smoke O_o My bf even asked me if I have been smoking or hanging out with smokers the evening when I was wearing it (which I haven't).
The whole thing smells like the morning after: spent the night in a bar smoking, drinking and wearing NR EDT. Well, I used to do all that... but I don't anymore! So it's kind of funny smelling the whole combo after an innocent morning at home and a boring day in the office :)
UPD. I hot rid of the edp and opted for the black bottle - it suits me better
I have the NR for her EDT. When I smell the bottle I like it very much, I find it unique, but every time I wear it I want to apologize for the annoying smell. Too sharp.
so sexy and wild
REVIEW OF DARRSHAN
I TRIED THIS FIRST TIME IN 2008 AND MY GOD I WAS TRANSPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO THE WORLD OF MUSKS AND FLORALS, ITS A RICH SOPHASTICATED EDP I HAV TRIED AND THE BOTTLE IS UNIQUE THE PINK ONE, OUTSTANDING GREAT WORK BY THE DESIGNER. A MUST IN MY SHELF. GREAT
This is my second blind-buy!(the pink bottle) Thank God I don't regret it at all !! High quality florals from the top to base. Lasting fragrance from start to 5hrs on my skin (I live in town crossed by the equator) so you can imagine how hot in here in 01.00 pm when I sprayed. It is absolutely feminine scent, the most important thing is I can enjoy myself for this floral even thought I rarely interested in full-floral scent.. I thought feminine florals is just not me. I am just lucky with this... ;)
Some perfumes that works on somebody doesn't mean it they are good on you, better try by yourself.
Additional note (Dec 11 2011)
This perfume is getting beautiful, sexier, even comfortable... I was thinking it too musky, but now I know how to treat this one. I'm so in love with it
Well, I did it. I went out and bought the pink bottle(EDP). I just had to have it since I also own the black one (EDT). Let me tell you,I LOVE IT! The pink bottle has a longer lasting sillage and smells more floral than the black bottle. The black bottle which I also adore, has a sweeter finish and the musk is more pronounced. Both bottles smell beautiful and are nothing short of amazing. Both can be worn anywhere at anytime.
I compared it to Cleopatra by Tocca and Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker. Cleo, in my opinion, has a green apple finish to it. Nice but, not as versatile as For Her. Lovely, just did not have enough body to it.While still wearable, it lacked sophistication.
For Her, is the best!!!
I loved it when I smelled it from the bottle. Very high quality and unique smell. However It has a very strange and unpleasant note in it similar to nail varnish remover that made me so sick, i really tried to keep mine, I tried many others to make sure mine wasn't gone off or something but all of them had the same weird nauseating strong "nail varnish remover" smell, why? :(
I love it. It's very feminine, when using this perfume you have to be ready for strangers turning their noses/heads towards you and leaning closer :)
I own the black bottle and love it but, I am now seriously considering purchasing the pink bottle as well. On my skin, the pink bottle has more longevity and sillage. I still adore the black bottle though!
I have the eau de toilette (black bottle). My husband bought this for me because he said that it smelled very different from all my other perfumes. I have to agree with him. It is not the common, loud, sweet, fruity fragrance that many people seem to be wearing. This is not the scent you wear for others, this is the scent you wear for yourself. It stays close to your skin because its a personal scent. To me,it has calming and relaxing feeling to it. The kind of scent for those days when I'm feeling like I'm having a positively good day and that day is just all about ME.
I can understand how someone would say that it may be too strong or think it's just an odd aroma when they first get a whiff of it. The secret to understanding this fragrance, is time. With patience, the musc notes develop into a very soft, sweet, beautiful, sexy scent . It's a very warm, dark and seductive perfume so, beware, the opposite sex will notice you.
very feminine, sexy and love this parfume ....I can't stop using it for years I love it
I have a pink bottle. Musk, bergamot and orange blossom, very complicated and sexy scent.
I wanted to like this. The reviews sound divine. I was even watching a YouTube video where the guy said, "this is what angels smell like." so, at that moment, I trotted down to my newest store and sampled it on my skin. One of these days I'm going to learn to stop doing this lol.
It seemed harmless so I sprayed it on skin. I hope this isn't offensive to the wearers, but there's no politically correct way for me to articulate how this smells on my skin. Maybe I'm not familiar with Egyptian Musk, but this smells like strong, fishy vaginal secretions (not the good kind) and Suave deodorant. For some reason, I think this Egyptian Musk stuff is probably what attracts the fellas to this.
I could deal if it was the suave scent alone, but that other 'note' killed me. It eventually blends in and isn't the screaming show stopper after an hour, but I can't stand it because it still reigns supreme in the background. Even after scrubbing with alcohol and washing with hot water and soap, this perfumes lasts, so I think it's good to say the lasting power is there.
It clings pretty close to the skin, not big sillage in my experience. But I could see the lasting power giving me HOURS.
I think on the right woman, it could be beautiful. Just not on me.
I have the black bottle pink box, and I have to say, I think I made a mistake I think this is better suited for a man. IT does have a softness that makes it wearable for women, but i'd rather smell this on my boyfriend than on myself. Shame, barely used..also have a few body lotions and shower gel, lol
So I suppose I'll either get around to using it or give it away. I will say it's very seductive and is growing on me, I still think the more floral version of this would be far better for women , that being the pink bottle
The egyptian musk is gorgeous, and men do seem to like this .. the few times I wore it I did recieve loads of compliments ....so who knows
the pink one i looooove love love love this perfume cosy , sexy and long lasting on my skin
من اول شمة حبيته- الوردي - رووووووعة بمعنى الكلمة وثابت ، انثوي ، مغري ، ودافي .
Delicious and sparkly
I have no words to describe how much I appreciate and love this perfume.
I have great appreciation for the artist ("nose") who managed to concoct, spice, mix and create this wonderful creation.
Narciso Rodriguez's scent is a complex, fascinating and blends beautifully with my body chemistry.
In my opinion, eau de perfume is excellent, while eau de toilette much much less.
This is incredibly adorable heavenly perfume (the edp version)! I just fell in love, which is not quite often.
I just can't wait to try the edt also.
Mellyhelly said it: "graceful, feminine and expensive your-skin-but-better with some floral notes.."
I also can detect a little smoke. But not much, just like someone has smoked one cigarette, and then passed trough this incredible aroma cloud. Anybody else smell smoke?
Very very lovely - I think I found my signature scent :)
I just wonder is it good for the winter? Or its scent blooms better in warmer days?
Strange how perfume perception may change in time.
My perception changes from on minute to another, so I may be a desperate rare case for perfumes!
I used to love Narciso Rodriguez EdT (black bottle), I still think it's a great modern musky scent with lovely orange blossom, but I feel toward NR as I feel towards many other fragrances on the genre that came out later: synthetical?
Of course, it is! We cannot be so naif to believe that they give us the real stuff! They sell synthetical stuff for big money!
So now, in this fake synthetic plastic world of 21th century where perfumes don't escape the hard rule, I think it is time to stop moaning about the old times gone when Samsara was real Samsara, Dolce Vita was real Dolce Vita, Femme was real Femme and so on...
Let's try to do what we can with what we have.
This is how I feel about these modern "chypre" or woody amber floral of our time.
Among the triad of NR EdT= SJP Lovely= Guerlain (omg!) Idylle that many claim to be "the same thing" I happen to like and wear Idylle at the moment.
That's because these 3 perfumes are NOT the same!
They all share the musky vibe and in spite of being synthetic white musk, at least they manage to do it with some grace. Urban grace, metropolitan grace, asphalt grace, McDonald's grace... well any grace! I mean anything that can smell graceful, feminine and expensive your-skin-but-better with some floral notes in a world of stink.
I stay well far from all the TBS The White Musk and all imitations since that infamous day they put it on market. Years of nervous system aggression via nostrils! Anywhere, anytime, always white musk from any brand in perfumes, fabric softener and even room spray (one that the lady in charge for building cleanup spritz wildly in the elevator :-O.
Oh, and I stay far from atrocious (for me, personal opinion here) Coco Mademoiselle and its own white musks.
So what can be found in NR, Lovely and Idylle?
Some musk relief!
They all belong to the musk family and they actually are relatives of the above mentioned, but they smell to me like the sophisticated cousins compared to the crap ones.
This is an olfactive family that I enjoy wearing and can sport around easily as they all seem quite versatile.
You can go to the office, go shopping, have a casual promenade with a friend, going out to a formal dinner, going out with your boyfriend, even a classical music concert, maybe...
NR both EdT and EdP (but I like only EdT) are scents of our time.
I reach for my black bottle of NR EdT when I want to smell a lush of my fave orange blossom mingled with amber, tiny honey, soft vetiver and...musk? Did I mention musk?
i don't like this. i don't understand all the hype! lol. just putting my opinion out there :)
I've now tried all formulations and I adore both the EDT and EDP, as well the Body Mist. The EDP in the pink bottle has a pronounced floral note (jasmine and osmanthus) with a very musky base, whereas the EDT in the black bottle is simply very musky and deeper. The Body Mist falls between the two but has very little longevity or sillage.
On my skin, the EDP has better longevity and sillage than the EDT. I also really like the floral vibe.
All versions are very sexy and musky.
nice- feminine - intriguing. I love this fragrance. Not for every day... but just perfect when you want to feel breath taking! ;-)
I find this one to have the same "effect" as Nude by Stella McCartney. Not all of you may agree, but I find them to be both very sexy scents that mix well with your own body scent without over-empowering or being too strong. To describe them in few words this is what comes to mind: sexy, feminine, cozy, musky and light
One of the very few interesting compositions of the last decade among the designer's range. NR for Her is a tremendously radiant concoction of woods and flowers (mainly orange blossoms) laying on a masculine musky base. Its main appeal lies in its incredible distinctiveness made of an unmannered beauty and charme. Elegant but not affected, NR for Her takes immediately the distance from nowadays clean fragrances by introducing a bold ambery/musky base that continuely winks at many classic compositions from the past. At the same time its perfect balance and refinement make of NR For Her a very versatile fragrance that's perfect for both younger crowds as well as for mature wearers. Very good.
Let someone who's not into perfume smell this, and if he/she likes it you just discovered a new potential perfumista. A contemporary classic.
Rating: 8.5/10
I used like this fragrance a lot but I don't know what happened and I don't see it with the same eyes or feel the smell with the same pleasure. :(
NR For Her = SJP Lovely = Guerlain Idylle edp
All these 3 smell very alike ...and can be good dupes!
If NR For Her does not last long on you : try Guerlain Idylle, its very long lastingg, good sillage.
I wish these 3 scents worked for me,
sadly,
they smell like mosquito repellent on my skin :(
Glad57, try Encre Noir from Lalique as well for a change... Wauw, I like NR as much as you do! Love the smell in the bathroom after spraying!
Why does it smells like chemicals on my skin ?
After the tester in '04 it was on. This has been my #1 favorite since then, every few months i buy. The EDP i bought maybe 2-3 times though b/c the scent is amazing, but doesn't last long on my skin, but the EDT is the perfect combo for me and lasts a much longer on my skin, the lotion hmm ok but i don't really need it. So satisfied when I get a new bottle because I think I'm going to get another fragrance and always go back to this one, it's really hard after this one to get another favorite. I've tried so many SJP's lovely (NO!), bvgari's cristalle.Estee's sensous nude, I did enjoy D&G the one (the rose) So back to NR EDT and Gucci rush for my other days. Will take suggestions, seems like i like the woody/chypre/florals that last a while.
Received a sample of this and had high hopes. The smell is a wonderfully sweet, feminine, powdery that I did like alot, but it didnt last on my skin for more than 30 minutes to an hour. I wont be purchasing a big bottle.
Unfortunately, this fascinating essence doesn't last on my skin more than one hours.I recommend the latest gem of the Rodriguez house, the essence. It lasts and lasts and lasts...
Hmm, I've just come to the end of my sample of NR For Her and after sitting on the fence for months about buying a full bottle, I've finally decided I won't be splashing out on a full bottle. Its a nice enough perfume but one that I would get bored with very quickly (and every other person seems to be wearing it these days - its become another Coco Mademoiselle).
So, for the price, I think I will stick with my Lovely and take my money elsewhere.
I first bought Lovely from Sarah Jessica Parker. I had to get used to it, I thought it was a quite overwhelming scent at first. Then I grew to love it, and now for me it is a quite distinct(ive), not mainstraim, perfume. Apparently I like musky flavours. Then I smelled Narciso Rodriquez and to me it was almost the same as Lovely (but a lot more expensive at the moment in Holland). A pity that Lovely will not be produced in the future. Missed opportunity I think.
Tried this yesterday. Don't like it at all. Very strong and heavy. Expected more, because of the reviews here. Nothing special, just overrated. That's my opinion. But lasts a very long time, unfortunately.
I agree with UrbanBeautiful, it is difficult to press the diffuser on the ones I have tried. I like the scent, although best after a couple of hours, before that it is a bit too strong. Have only tried the EdP. Lasts very long on my skin, at least 8 hours.
Where to begin?
Confession: I have resisted the urge to purchase NR's infamously worshipped For Her for a couple of years now, always able to rationalise the SJP similarities often written about here and discussed elsewhere.
May I openly admit I have been a fool for allowing myself to accept the aforementioned comparison based on blotter testing.
I own SJP Lovely and SJP Lovely Winter Sparkle (the added shimmer lends a certain oomph and plays down the lavender note) YES, there are similarities, I agree, however (!!!), there is one fundamental difference.
Narciso Rodriiguez For Her becomes one with the wearer. The musk seeps into your skin and blends with who you are.
It becomes YOU!
For Her stays with you, it is not something you can wash off. It playfully hangs around even peeking through a completely different fragrance selection the next day.
There is a reason SJP wears NRFH, and I now believe I know why. Hats off to team SJP for creating something similar and perhaps more accessible, but not the same.
I finally get it.
Ok, I really want to write something nice about this perfume (since so many people absolutely love it!), but I'm kind of reluctant.
I keep "revisiting" one other paper strip you see, still contaminated by this delightful potion called "Spellbound" (a leftover from yesterday's review lying on my desk) and I have to admit that while we are most definitely talking about two different categories of perfume here, it is evident we are also talking about two different classes as well!
So maybe good "for her", but not good "for me".
Desole'. :-(
I took this on vacation with me and sprayed it on my bed sheets in my hotel before i brought a special someone back to my room. Yeah... love it...
i dont really like the fragrance, although my mom loves it, its quite musky and dark, but also quite sweet, very sexy and womanly... and actually all the things that i could like, but not this one. anyways. its not the scent i want to speak about, but the bottle! i remember it was my moms fave scent, until i accidentially "dropped" it. it didnt break, but something went wrong with the diffuser, so it was impossible to spray the perfume anymore. it was unpressable... so my mom tried to get it fixed but nothing would work, so she had to throw it away, although the bottle still was half full. today, i tried to test the perfume in 2 different shops. everytime the same scenario... everything looks fine, but the diffuser is not pressable... and nothing comes out. 2! no 3!!! times... there is something seriously wrong with their concept... the bottle looks really beautiful but it breaks sooo quickly! i want to get my mom another bottle for her bd soon because i broke hers years ago, and since then she never haid it again... but im hesitating, i just dont want the same thing to happen again after she sprays it 10 times.. i mean this stuff is expencive! and then that!?! anyone else experiencing those problems???...
Olfactory ambrosia.
The EDT opens as sheer, radiant white musk with an abstract floral-fruitiness from the osmanthus and orange blossom. The initial impression is that of delicately sweet white honey or pale nectar. This faint sweetness wears off after several minutes, developing into a dewy green wood accord that highlights the near-seraphic beauty of the musk.
A true skin scent that almost wears as a personal aura, NR emanates from the entire body like a soft, pale glow regardless of where one applied it.
Clean, natural-smelling, and exquisitely beautiful. Lasts forever on hair and clothing to boot, and the faint trail it leaves behind is pure feminine allure.
Grab the EDT in the pink box. While the sheer woodiness of the EDT compliments one's natural skin scent and elevates it to a personal ideal, the EDP incorporates a heavier rose accord that lends a strange fleshy feel to the composition. The result: wearing the EDP almost feels as if another person's olfactory presence were superimposed over your own, an experience I found vaguely unnerving.
ok, I just sprayed this on me again, and (arrrgh), I do love it, it's such a very sexy scent and right now not smelling all that soapy, just a little, but I cant help but feel this is just a little too much on the masqueline side? IDK my male friend said it smells like a naked woman? LOL ..... I'd love to smell this on my boyfriend, too bad I cant tear him away from cool water ...lol =/ *sighs*
I have 'for her' in black bottle with pink box, and on other people as well as on a swatch I love this! very sexy modern, on me however it's merely a musky soap! I just wish I tested this out efore purchasing a ful size bottle along with lotion and bath gel, lol, I would be every so happy to trade for the pink ottle or something else :P , oh and no I do not think either smell anything like SJP
I tried it today. First the girl in the shop sprayed the pink one on paper. I didn't like it at the beginning, because of the sharp, a little masculine smell. I sniffed again after 2 hours and - wow, it's wonderful - sexy, sensual, yet clean and classy scent. Smells expensive. I love it! The black one is more peppery and deep. I liked the initial spray, but then it turned too soapy on me. I deffinitely like the edp better.
This smells exactly like SJP Lovely. They could be twins. (I couldn't get the 'this reminds me of ......' thingy to work so thought I would write this instead :)
Oh - and Lovely is a fraction of the price.
@Jazmam the black bottle is the edt and the pink bottle is edp.
So Upset! I loved this, purchased the edp (black bottle in pink box) large one along with shower gel and lotion and it simply does not work on my skin =( .... I just get alot of soap.. what a shame
I recently got a mini EDP of this, thanks to a lovely Fragrantica member who I've just done a swap with. It's not necessarily the type of fragrance that I would be drawn to initially but I tested it yesterday and on my skin it smells really quite nice. It's a little 'cool' to me at first, a little brisk and professional smelling so I think it would be a good perfume to wear for business (or perhaps if you mean business!). It smells softer and a little more powdery after it's been on my skin for half an hour or so and that's when I prefer it. It kind of reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on but for some reason 'Cachet' by Prince Matchabelli (which my sister used to wear sometimes in her teens) popped into my head so maybe it has some similarities to that, although I checked the Cachet notes and I can only see that vetiver is a shared note. I definitely prefer this to Cachet though and I really used to hate the smell of Cachet!
Some of the other reviewers here have mentioned that the EDP seems to have a rose note in it and I also picked up on that. It does smell very rosy. Having said that though, to my nose there's also something slightly masculine in this perfume, which might be the vetiver / coriander combo. The staying power is good - 12+ hours on my skin.
I quite like this perfume but I'm not sure I would wear it often enough to warrant getting a big bottle of it, but I'd consider getting a smaller bottle (if it comes in smaller ones!) or another mini. At the moment though my little mini EDP is enough for me.
I have EDP (pink bottle, black box). I love it. It lasts absolutely ages on me, 8 hours+ on my skin, even better when spritzed onto my shirt as well.
I also own Lovely, but when both are finished I will spend my money on replacing NR. Its a little more complex, and longer lasting than Lovely, though the scents are SO similar, and IMO worth the extra cost. Fabulous stuff, very very sexy.
Sexy, sophisticated and original. If only it would last longer.Ideal for evenings and to impress someone. Lovely musk. (I tried the pink bottle)
I wore the black bottle version for several years and greatly enjoyed it. Perhaps the best example I have found of a scent that made me feel very sexy, while still seeming appropriate to wear to work. I find the musk detectable but not overwhelming, and the overall scent is soft and feminine, without being flowery or romantic. However, as others have mentioned, it's become a bit too popular, and its place in my fragrance wardrobe is currently held by Chanel's Bois des Iles (perhaps even more subtle and a little less sexy, but much less frequently worn).
I wrote about NR before, but I feel a need to say I still love it even if I don't wear it.
I had a NR's period years ago and I simply loved it. I'm talking about the black EdT bottle, the only one I like. All other versions I cannot stand.
In my present obsession for orange blossom/neroli I checked if my most beloved fragrances had it inside and bingo! It was right intuition! Almost all of them had that note, even if I was not always aware of it.
NR EdT makes no exception with an even better feature: orange blossom mixed with Egyptian musk and amber! The smell of heaven perhaps... a sexy heaven!
On my skin orange blossom comes out very noticeably but it's also blended in a creamy musk. No other scent in the line has the same luminous creamy mid eastern effect.
I had a cheap dupe of this scent which smelled very similar and not bad at all, but there is just something in the original that cannot be duped.
So why I don't wear this now?
Reason 1 - I have a strong olfactive memory and all perfumes conjure up images of my past or even precise scenes. I feel like pulled back to old emotions and I don't feel it as a good thing, regardless of positive or negative. Unfortunately it's not something I can control.
Reason 2 - It has become too popular. I smell it very often around and it seems to especially attract overdone, overjeweled, tall, tanned, branded snobbish ladies in their 50s. I'm quite the opposite.
I like to smell it in my privacy when I'm in a mood for it.
Mmmm... this one epitomizes sexy. I love it.
I tried the pink tester. At first I wasn't so sure - I'm not used to darker smelling perfumes like this. But once it warmed a little while on my skin, it became intoxicating. It's unusual and complex and very hard to pick out individual notes, which I like. It's musky, but not sweet.
It reminds me that I am a WOMAN, not a teenager, and I have the curves, wisdom, experience and strength to prove it. All of that from a perfume? YES! That is one reason why there are so many of us perfumaholics here...
fragrance evokes feelings, some of them being deeply powerful. It took trying it twice, but this is one of those fragrances for me.
Black bottle with the pink bottle is not the same.my favorite black bottle.depper and quality.
The minute I sprayed this on my wrist, I realized it was the perfume that my professor wears! I always thought it made her smell very elegant, not only because not many professors wear noticeable perfume, but because of how unique and striking the scent was!
I like it, but I could never wear it, for obvious reasons.
I just got the EDP NR for her, and its perfect!
Totally thumbs up.
It reminds me a little bit like Giorgio Armani Emporio for her (2008)
I'm speaking here about the EDP (the pink bottle). It is one of my favourite fragrances cause it has that "something" which makes it unique and unspeakable wonderful. When a lady wearing FOR HER passes you by, you'll know in a blink that it is special. That's what I'm looking for in a perfume: to be like no others, to be unique. It is elegant but still fresh, suitable for day and night wear, and long lasting. As all the perfumes, it must be applied also on clothes if you want to feel its smell since morning to evening.
Beautiful, sexy, elixir of love in pink bottle!
Just perfect!
@primadonna35 thank you for the response, I used to prefer the EDT but I actually prefer the EDP now. I guess if I decide to buy it again, I will have to spray on my clothes. I find the EDT very sharp and synthetic now. I used to have a different opinion. EDP all the way!
I tried the pink one(edp I guess) and I really liked it! truth is, I didn't like it at first but 20-30 min. later, a nice smell was coming to my nose, I thought it was guerlain idylle which I like. but I remembered I didn't try idylle that day, it was narciso rodriguez! it smelled like a softer version of idylle, less harsh. I like it, but someone said that black version has better sillage and longevity. true?false? black smells the same??
I'm beginning to suspect that I'm anosmic to some component of Egyptian Musk that smells to others like the sacred bedsheets of Isis herself. My nose groups 'Egyptian Musk' scents into two categories 1) not there at all, or 2) unbearable chemical wallop that could never have exuded from the skin of any living creature.
Alas, for me Narciso Rodriguez falls into group 2 (so does SJP Lovely, often cited as a wallet-friendly alternative). The sad thing is that I can detect a pretty orange blossom note alongside the musk, and I can well believe that Narciso Rodriguez strikes many people as being a sexy, stylish perfume.
Opinions are clearly so widely divided on this scent that I think the minority of us who are 'haters' really must be experiencing something that most people don't – though since the offending note gets described as anything from BO to rotting leaves to insect spray, I think the main reaction is a simple Do Not Like, with the perfume then being mentally compared to whatever smell that person finds especially unpleasant. I got the same thing with Givenchy's original Ange ou Demon, and I would love to know the chemical culprit (IIRC, i hate perfume's Christopher Brosius says that he finds the synth musk galaxolide to be nauseating, so it could be this). Test carefully before buying.
@jellybeantree: i also have the same problem, the edp version isnt very longlasting, and silliage is very low, but i adore the scents so i can spray in the daytime, this perfume is not a 1 spray scent, you should reapply it during the day unfortunately...
Just a question for my fellow fragrantica friends, am I the only one that the EDP in the pink bottle stays 1 hour on my skin and then disappears? Its GONE! The EDT lasts forever on me though.
I bought this perfum after reading the revieuws. I must say i'm so glad that i can add this to my collection. I must say love at first sniff. I got the pink bottle {edp}. It so fresh i can smell the roses, and the musk and after an half an hour i smell a little bit of the patchouli. Its is a spicy yet fresh perfum that i loved immediately, but actually i'm already addicted to this wonderful, sexy, feminine spicy, fresh perfum. I really love fragantica for letting me discover new perfums, a still have a lot to discover.
I received this as a gift from my husband. Rich fragrance lasts long. Very fresh. Received many compliments wearing it. At first I thought it too sweet, but it mellows nicely. I like the lavendar and amber notes. Noticable but not overpowering.
I LOVE this perfume so much. Always repurchase. Lots of people compliments.
I just got this in the EdP and it is sooo lovely! Typically this is not my type of scent but this smell so good on me, it's so fresh and clean smelling it's a really lovely perfume. The bottle is so cute too, with the pink bottle.
This is def a perfume you should go out and try a few times before purchasing because this is not everyones cup of tea but on the right person this can't go wrong. So happy I bought this :)
I have the EDT....This perfume would be lovely, except there is a note in there that smells very strongly to me of mothballs, or even a person with bad/musty breath. It's a very very odd note, yet I would still say it's a nice perfume. It is strong with excellent lasting power, and lasts over 13 hrs on me. I think I would love to smell this on anyone else in passing whiffs, but it doesn't work for me because of the moth-bally note--guessing one of the musks.
I like it.It´s elegant but also good for every day use. Unfortunetly is expensive.
I like this because it's an understated charmer... it's definitely sexy and sensuous, feels like a second skin and the beautiful rose in the EDP shines all watery and realistic, polished by luminous osmanthus. Musk gives it an animalistic sexual undertone that I love. It might seem like a decent lady to most but this one likes to talk dirty in private.
Longevity is very good for the EDP (around 12 hours), I do not find it to be less lasting than the EDT. Sillage is nice, keeps within 1 meter range.
Elegance
This is the first "new" perfume I have truly liked. It is rather enigmatic in nature and goes on evolving and revealing itself. The middle and base-notes are very good at holding on to my wrists. It's got just the right amount of floral hint without being sweet or overpowering. Nothing "girlie" about this yet it manages to be a very feminine scent. A brilliant creation, I'd say!
This has to be the essential Musk Perfume nothing in my honest opinon captures the note of musk then Narciso Rodriguez It's translucient to a point of a clear skin scent due to the presence of osmanthus sweetens the musk base bergamot adds the zest and tinges of amber dries the top 20 minutes later Narsiso turns woodsy with burnt edges vanilla gives it a warm delicious touch, There is no such thing thing is the basenote in Narciso the musk osmanthus
abd vanilla plays it's self The Final verdict It's Chic Sexy Clean And Modern but advoids the fake facade of the candy dandy scent that has smered the perfume world.
Overall this is a soft, velvety scent and yet there is a hidden deeper musk. Sexual, surprising. One of the few perfumes I wear that has men literally sniffing my neck. One of my all time faves.
I usually don´t do that, but I want this just because of the bottle! Too bad I hate the smell of it :/
EDIT: That was about EDP. And now, when I have tested EDT, I can officialy say that it´s one of the best perfumes I have EVER smelled..EDT is VERY sexy and provocative, it´s not like its pink sister, not that rosey and creamy and sensual..to me, it´s almost agresively sexual!! Seductive musk with a hint of fresh orange blossom..I wish it wasnt so expensive in my country! It´s sooooo ALLURING! And the lasting power is INCREDIBLE! WANT IT WANT IT WANT IT!
I feeling a bit sintetic smell in the begining, but dry down is magical, the most beautiful fragrance ever I smelt.Very soft and very close to the skin.Lasting power great as well.I can feel the smell on my neck whole day, since morning till the evening.Expensive, but I think worth it.
This fragrance is just amazing strong but not the kind that make you sick. it is best used for night and big events. not for casual use.
My daughter described the smell as rotting vegetation...and I have to agree with her. Not for our chemistry obviously!
after i've read so many good reviews about it , i had to test it out... but actually i hate it. on my skin both, the edp and the edt, smell disgusting. after sniffing my boyfriend said immediately: "you have to wash this off!" i dont know if it is the musk but to me its just disturbing. don't wanna offend anyone but on my skin it just doesn't work.
Elegant as a little black dress, natural as your own scent, soft and dreamy. My signature scent from the very first day I smelled it from one of these minimalistic bottles. Just can't get over it, love it as if it would be a part of me.
Hummm...! It's a modern interpretation about sensual, feminine and elegant scents. I love it!
N.R. EDP brings forth a seductive aroma of sweet musk that's simply addictive and intoxicating. Sexy, Modern, Feminine and Bold, this was quite a suprising creation for me that stands out from the crowd (but not entirely unique).
The other scent that I got beside the musk smells like some kind of Orange/Pineapple juice, or a kiddy vitamin. I suppose that's what the Orange Blossom is. This effect is identical to that of Estee Lauders Brasil Dream. They smell so much a like, NR is just a more sophisticated version IMO.
I first imagined a young and fashionable working woman smelling of NR. But oddly enough, I received nostalgic visions of a hospital, a lady doctor in her office, and sterile medical equipments. I think it may be the orange blossom that reminds me of a vitamin chewey my pediatrician would give me after each visit. Come to think of it, NR definitely has some of that medicinal-chemical edge to it. This analysis is not exactly a bad thing for me, but it could be for others. So, you can't buy this without trying first.
Overall, this is a nice one and I like it (though it did make me a bit nausea's hours later).
The longevity is great, as for sillage/projection NR is sharp and strong, but it stays closer to your skin. It would be great for office wear but it suits ladies of any age and could be worn on most occasions.
*(again, thank you NathalieZ for the sample)
Very elegant.
I went to Nordstrom's yesterday specifically to try out Narciso Rodriguez For Her after reading reviews. I really did prefer the creamier scent of the EDP as the EDT was a little more "spiky" if you will. Not as rounded as the EDP, but in general, same scent. Upon first spray of the EDP, the scent is VERY strong. So strong, I had to open the window 'cause i could taste it. The opening is definitely Orange Blossom -not Orange, mind you- Orange Blossom, which is absolutely more floral as opposed to the citrus. I'm waiting for it to settle down, and as it does, the Amber comes out to play and it's no longer so sharp. It's a pleasant scent, and I can now smell the delicate Egyptian Musk. The Egyptian Musk holds the fort down with this fragrance, but it's the Orange Blossom that sings out clearly at the top and stays there for the entire wear of this EDP. Many people call this a "skin scent" as it's not a cloyingly sweet fragrance, but it has a nice mixture of everything which must be why this parfum is so universal. Personally, it's still too perfume-y to me, as I usually wear the basically see-through (inexpensive) scent of Jovan White Musk, which has almost no floral whatsoever and wears the closest to my skin than any other scent. But I digress. This is a wonderful fragrance for those who enjoy musk & flowers, and would rather not out-do the perfume counter in aroma.
If this perfume were a woman: she grew up in the country and moved to the city for college. She's sophisticated and young and is someone who is a "good girl" with a bit of a naughty side when you get to know her. She's fun and flirty but also has a good head on her shoulders and knows when to be serious. She's smart and she likes to have fun. As far as perfumes go, this one is a "like" in my book! Very pleasing to my nose, but I'm still on the look out for my signature fragrance, which I'm thinking might be a non-floral musk, unlike this (not for me, although well-done and pleasing) fragrance.
I bought once Narcisso Rodriguez (the black bottle]and recently I bought the Essence. Both perfumes have nothing in common.Black NR had a very low silage and longevity, unlike the Essence which I simply adore.A cosy longlasting fragrance.
Recently purchased both the EDT and EDP in 7.5ml mini bottles.
They smell DIVINE. Both of them. I want to purchase a 50ml bottle but due to the painful price tag I can't get both. I don't know which one! The EDP is quite lovely and feminine, as well as the EDT. I find the latter to last longer on me for some reason. The EDT, unlike the EDP, does smell slightly different due to the hint of a masculine note somewhere in the mix. It is in no way offensive or off-putting at all to me. Both versions are surprisingly sweet and not as musky as I thought they would be. I was worried they would be all musty-smelling and wondered how a fragrance that was predominantly musk could be so popular. Now I know why.
I admit for both fragrances, when I first apply them they stink to high-heaven (not like: "Ew I'm gonna throw up", more like: "It's so strong! When does it soften up?"). It is SO worth waiting it out, though. Once you reach the dry down you will want to just sniff your wrist all day. I know I did.
Not strange at all, right. :p
I like this perfume, its so creamy. This is not just sweet perfume i smell somehting bitter too,but its is sexy bitter smell a littlebit to it !
This is just so elegant.
If you think you are peeky on perfumes you have to try this one.very unique and ladylike...
I love it, and i thought that i would love the pink bottle more as it is more floral and an EDP, but I can hardly smell it. The black one, on the other hand smells just beautiful. One of the few linear fragrances that I truly love. As mentioned before: it smells like a second skin.
Both EDT and EDP are gorgeous but I still prefer the woodsy EDT over the rosy EDP. The EDT is very fresh with a touch of green (I can smell lily of the valley though it's not listed in the notes. When I spray it on my skin I get a dry powdery smell but when I spray it on my hair the scent has a fresh wet quality (similar to CK Thruth), it's like a blow of fresh air from the river. I find its greenish powdery woodiness somewhat reminiscent of Chanel No19 - it has equally assertive, independent, free-spirited feminine vibe.
So intoxicating! The combination of musks in this fragrance lends to an enigmatic verve, a positively mesmerising effect that allows the topnotes to float for a long time. It evokes images of childhood security, holidays, a crisp marina with pretty boats on Summer days, but also of assuredness and adulthood, sophistication and adventure.
This is as close to a perfect combination of scents and a balance of notes as I think is to be found, and can as easily become a signature fragrance for a man as a woman.
This is absolute PERFECTION! This can be worn in day or nite and be worn by the young and the old - it is sexy and flirty - it encompasses everything! I JUST LOVE IT! It may be pricey, but it is worth every penny. I have received compliments every time that I have worn it. I have the perfume, not the toliette. I have heard, but can not confirm that the toliette is somewhat weak and wears off too fast. I just want to say that I am a "Perfume Snob" and this one totally meets all my criteria - it just makes me feel so feminine and Girlie - It is a true Keeper - What a GO Mr. Rodriquez!
UPDATE:
Black version is now available in EDT and EDP (purse perfume).
Pink version is still only available in EDP.
I love this. I have the black version (EDT spray and the rollerball perfume) and could easily make this my signature scent, if only it didn't make me break out in a rash! I love the composition of the fragrance, the sweet smell of light creamy musc, the delicious orange blossom keeping it all fairly light and wearable and the rounded vanilla note. This is not sweet in your face ice cream vanilla, but more like a soft come hither vanilla cuddled up in the warm musc. I have to wear in on my clothing and it can be detected even days later. Luckily the rollerball doesn't break me out so I wear this on my pulse points. Men love this scent, my bf says 'it doesn't really smell like you are wearing perfume, it just smells like you'.
I really like this. It is EXACTLY like Beauty by Elizabeth Arden, much more refined, but the exact same fragrance on my skin, which is good, because my husband always loved it on me. Even has the same sparkly nose tickling note(not sure what that is). Beauty actually lasts longer but is a little sharper. Two very lovely almost twin fragrances. The over all impression: this smells like a woman, and that is how I want to smell. Very bright and feminine.
I've had the honor of having FOR HER both version. At first glance you can guess that the perfumer is from CUBA because of tobacco aroma which accompanies this fragrance. Quite exotic smell and very popular because of that exotic. I personally enjoyed it very much, but still looking for MY smell.... For me that is the fragrance I can have once and then move on...
It's one of my fav. Mine is a limited edition in silver bottle. The scent is identical to the original EDT in black one.
I have samples of both EDT and EDP. There are little difference between these two. I think EDP fits girls in my age, since the flower fragrance is stronger than EDT.
And I want to buy a bottle of EDP in future.
je n'aime pas les parfums actuels......mais celui ci est "différent" ,sensuel,il semble fait à l'ancienne,très addictif ,très attractif!
On paper I found it quite interesting but when I had a sample of it, I didn't like it on me at all. The drydown is not of my likes. I have to agree with those who say: harsh and sharp...I even think it's too masculine in the drydown.
I received a sample of this fragrance and loved the smell. Yes, it is strong when you initially spray it, but later the scent changes into this nice flowery scent. I would like to add this fragrance to my collection someday.
i smell both of them , but i liked the EDP more than EDT
Oh Wow ! I bought this for my wife yesterday - What a beautiful interpretation - flowery but not cheesy, feminine in an almost masculine way, powerful but sublime. For me, one of the very best perfumes a woman can wear - and only that :-)
Love this one (the EDT). Soft and romantic. A little come hither. A whisper in his ear. This is a girly-girl and she does have an adventerous side. But she doesn't show it to just anybody.
Lasts well on me.
I think the sample I tried was the EdP, but there seems to be quite a bit of confusion about which version is which. Whatever I have is super-strong. Sharp, white plastic flowers and spicy citrus in the opening are quickly joined by a note that smells like the “Egyptian musk” fragrance oil that is reputed to be one of the notes. This genre of fragrance oil does not smell like animalic musk, as the name would suggest, but rather is a spicy, patchouli-floral mix.
After about an hour of drying down it becomes a little bit soapy, then loses the floral edge and adds some conventional “white” musks to the “Egyptian” version. The whole thing fades fairly fast, which is surprising given the strong opening. From start to finish it’s only about 4-5 hours. The fragrance is well-made, but definitely not my style.
I find this too harsh and sharp and agree on the "chemical" feel to it. Not pretty at all.
i had only the body lotion. very nice.... lovely scent, sexy and feminine. to bad that i don;t find the edt at the department store at all!!!!! i want to see the scent with my body chemestry.
amazing.i love it!!!!!
EDT - my boyfriend raphsodized over it.. although i couldnt smell much of it... the smell really mingles in with your skin.. laugh..
EDP also had same effect on said boyfriend.. especially when layered with the body lotion.
It must be the musk.... very sensuous.. definitely my 'turn on 'perfume..
Oh, and if you spray a couple of times up in air and walk through the droplets you'll smell heavenly throughout the evening.
wooooooooooooooooow i love soooo much narciso rodriguez the pinky one ,, oh my god smell sooo good , smell sexy and classy , elegant scent
I received a sample bottle of the EDP at Macy's and was head over heels in love. This is truly a delicious smell that is one of my favorite. The perfect blend of flowers and musk, it is a very seductive smell.
I love love 'n luvvvvv ^^ ..this scent very much I have both black EDT version and pastel pink EDP one .. they smell quite differnce in each way. Both are pominent by the sweetness powdery musky but what the EDT smell more peppery and EDP more creammy flowery ..It seems like the longivity not quite exceed my expectation even EDP,there will last longer on cloth not on the skin and I recommend you to spray it on hair it's realy superb! and last a bit longer. This is the perfect feminine scent..
I detect a strong, chemical smell in this perfume. It reminds me of roach spray.
I adore how this manages to be sharp but powdery all at once. It's versatile to wear, but I believe it smells even better in cooler months, as it brings out a certain crispness in the scent. One spray is potent enough.
Lots and lots of musk. I know that to lots of people, musk smells somewhat like cat urine. So if you are one of those people, i definitely would not recommend this.
Many reviewers compare NR with lovely of sarah jessica parker. Don't let that fool you! They aren't twins, but more like sisters. I love NR(EDT), so I bought lovely blindly. I don't like it at all, it's so synthetic and the cypress is way to present. I think it ressembles the EDP more.
And about the lasting power: it's very weak on skin, but longlasting on clothes, so maybe you can spray it on your coat to smell it the whole day.
Smoky (the vetiver?). One of those strong masculine scents I usually wouldn't wear. I can see the appeal to it tho..it's like Obsession in that it's a "va-va-voom" scent. I use my sample till it's gone..but I don't plan on purchasing.
After reading a lot of reviews of this, of the man magnet, really sexy, very sophisticated variety, I really wanted to try this and be amazed. It was a let down. Very woody and not a lot else. And why is it apparently advertised by Heidi? Please explain!
This smells very pretty but unfortunately I could never justify purchasing it. It smells great for about 2 minutes before it starts to fade....20 minutes later it's literally gone. For the price, it's a major disappointment that the lasting power is so poor on my skin.
So sexy. Very long lasting but I agree with the other reviews that mention you just don't smell it anymore after a while. Your nose gets used to it but the others around you still smell it. I sprayed it (EDP) on to try it once and weeks later the perfume lingers on my clothes.
EDT absolutely smells like Lovely by SJP but Lovely is less special in my view. Go for the EDP for a unique experience and try Lovely if you just not ready yet...
This fragrance is very feminine and sexy. It's also super long lasting. Love it.
An entire day later and this is still going strong on the sweater sleeve it was sprayed on. EXTRAORDINARY! This fragrance could have easily been named Rapture considering the rich way that it embraces you. its warm, sophisticated and sultry! I am really impressed. I have eaten my words about staying power in fragrance. And yes I am wearing the Au de Toilette
Jai sent me to try this one and that dude has his head on straight. This is one of the most brilliant fragrances. Fellas, give this a shot! You wont be sorry. This is one of those fragrances where I cant say enough good about it so I will keep my comments to a min. truly amazing. I think its in my top 10
I bought this for a nice spring safe perfume and it is... it s elegant, sexy, simple, girly and not at all mature. I dont think it really suits me, I find it a little bit too doll, too pink, too common ... but the main problem is that it doesnt last at all. Anyone else is having the same problem with me? And I payed for an EDP, it lasts litteraly a few minutes... anyway I am too frustrating to write anything nice for Narciso right now...:(
I was looking for a fresh laundry smell. And I think a found it. Most people recommended the perfumes of "Clean" and "Pure grace" of Philosophy to me, but I found these quit synthetic.
NR on the other hand is such a lovely smell! It smells so pure! And it is more complex and has more depth then Clean of Pure grace. Although I don't like the beginning, indeed it has a citrus soapy note, but the drydown is so gorgeous! It's so warm, sexy and soft.
I had high hopes for this fragrance. I heard so many good things about it and was excited to try it. Tried it yesterday. Disappointed. It stinks like BO. Alcohol scented at first, then dries down to a warm, sweaty BO. Sorry. *runs away and hides*
I love this perfume. I had both EDT and EDP. Its true The EDT is stronger than the EDP and much sharper.
you know when ur in a room and there something sprayed. you smell it for mayb an hour but then u start not smelling it anymore coz ur nose got used to it, and only other people can tell when they just enter this room. I feel this when I wear NR. just 2 sprays and a minute later I can't smell it anymore. Not coz it faded. its beacuse its so powerful that my nose got used to it, even tho it took less than 5 minutes. And its only when I greet someone they tell me I smell divine.
And yeah, Is it me or is every time I spray this perfume on my wrist or neck its gets really hot where I sprayed it?
NR has a fantastic floral blend. It's very special and feminine. You may trust me, this scent is absolutely fabulous.
Now that I’ve read the paragraph about this perfume, and all of the wonderful reviews I understand this scent a little more. I tried the edp on one arm, and the edt on the other today. After about an hour I was puzzled as to why the EDT was stronger, sharper, and lasting longer, over the soft, slightly rosy EDP on my other arm. That’s so crazy reversed from what I’ve always known about EDP’s longevity.
I think this scent would be perfect for layering with other stuff, all I get is the Egyptian musk ( which is quite nice btw) the other notes are insanely faint and not even worth mentioning really. Honestly the EDT (which I definitely prefer) smells similar to SJP’s Lovely after about 4 hours on my skin. So I can’t justify buying this for myself. I can see how other women would dig it though. I also think it’s the perfect perfume for those who work in the medical field because it truly is a nice skin scent, just fresh, clean, and sexy if you get close enough to the person.
I also sprayed Fresh’s Sake on my sweater and I must add this because it’s beautiful layered with the EDT! Both of the compositions have osmanthus and musk. In my mind Sake added just the right amount of depth, but the scent is still clean and nice! If I could afford to run out and buy both I would!
A strong, classy and feminine scent, perfect for a confident, strong and mature woman. However it's too sharp and heavy for me, I dont feel that 'womanly'...
My mini EDT (black bottle) arrived today. I gave it a sniff and dabbed on the wrist... and cannot stop sniffing it. It must be the musk but, to me, this one is pure sex personified! Uh oh, my hubby's gonna be in trouble tonight... ;-)
OK, I think it's the musk but there is something else in it that just has that wow-factor to me. I see a teacher in a sexy, body hugging, sensuously soft woolly flannel suit, Chanel style, in the early afternoon, reading an old book at a library that has sunlight pouring in through the tall, cathedral windows. It's super quiet, and soem tiny specks of dust are floating in the surprisingly crisp air. She takes a break from reading and rests her perfumed wrists on the pages. The smell of perfume mixes with the smell of the paper (but not the ink) of the book she is reading. Nothing musty or dusty though, just a scent that I can only describe as "classic". A very nice blend, I no longer wonder why so many love it. I do, too.
I feel so lucky to be able to wear this well, and I do see a big bottle of it in my future!
I tested this on my skin today after all the rave reviews and it smelt revolting the moment it hit my skin. The first perfume that has ever smelt so bad that I rushed to wash it off with detergent. Such a shame because the notes look wonderful together, obviously just my chemistry...
Una de las fragrancias mas sexys y fantasticas que e olido....Femenina,regosijadora,sensual y simplemente explosiva....
This one is really gorgeous! One of the best fragrances I´ve ever smelled.
NR For Her is full of intriguing contradictions: It´s truly feminine but also perfectly suitable for men. It´s mild but has a great sillage. It´s classy and ellegant but somehow uncommon. It´s delicate enough to evoke the idea of innocence, but extremaly musky sexy as well.
I can´t get bergamot on it, but orange blossom, musk and amber notes blended in a such a perfect way that each one comes out mildly, and overall what you get is a very delicate concoction.
I am a man, and this is my signature perfume (the black bottle). I love everything about this perfume, from the image, packaging, the bottle etc. The EDP is a bit too floral and feminine and soft, but the EDT is such a heavenly smell for me. It is so dark and sexy. Must be the musk. I also love the Narciso for him musc edition EDP and I tend to mix these two together, and the result is: Wow!!!!! I love it.
The for her EDT (Black bottle) is a very dark, warm, seductive, sexy and inviting, classy perfume. A perfume for the most sophisticated perfume connoisseur. I simply love it!!!!!
I would love to try the musc for her intense edp soon.
(Review for the EDT)
It's such a pleasure to have this one on my skin..it should probably be, equally, the strangest and the best perfume I've ever smelled.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her knows exactly how to be stunning and mysterious, how to please both women and men by bewitching their senses.
It opens with a soapy citrus note, that immediately turns into a radiant, warm ocean of musk in which I imagine floating white flowers abandoned by a Goddess..now she's sailing the waters to meet her beloved God beyond the horizon.
How can a scent be so forwardly sensual and reassuring at the same time? It just smells of a long yearned embrace..
On me this one doesn't last that long, I was expecting for a higher longevity but that's ok..I should try the EDP too.
Too bad I discovered such a jem only last year..
A true masterpiece, it really heals my heart each time.
This is the one with the X factor, if you like musk. An epiphany of feminity. Very well balanced. It expresses ultimate sensuality, innocence and elegance at the same time.
EDT is better (EDP goes too musky and too "in your face" sexy) but lasts considerably shorter.
A truly exotic and modern scent! Beautiful with amazing staying power. The egyptian musk at the center gives it an unusual sexy vibe. A fantastic signature scent!
Narciso I love you but I betrayed you occasionally with Lovely by SJP, could you forgive me? Still you're the best, sexy, creamy, musky, one of the few pure florals I love! I discovered NR a few years ago and everyone around me seemed to wear it. I thought it wasn't for me at that time and still now I don't wear it very often but it's simply georgeous when I want to feel sexy and smell special!
i wanna get this one since i like lovely by sarah jessica parker. it kinda smells like soap but its alright.
EDP: lots of musk in Drydown very long lasting and a sharp ROSE!
EDT: Long lasting for an EDT a more creamy soft version of EDP with a more soft barely there musk.
Both are nice but not a love and not a buy.
This review is for the eau de parfum: pink bottle.
If you are looking for a modern well behaved rose with musk nuances then look no further, the eau de parfum version of this fragrance is that in spades. As a lover of in your face chypres I find it laughable that this fragrance is being described above as an 'agressive chypre'. In no way shape or form is this even close to the composition of a chypre.
What we have here is a beautifully delicate "Floral Woody Musk" that can be worn day or night and will not offend anyone with a sensitive nose. I do like it, I just wish it had more presence. I swear I sprayed this three times on my decollette, once on each side of my neck, twice on each arm, twice on each wrist, and twice behind each knee and it was barely detectable by my family around me. Typical of modern fragrances there is not much sillage and longevity is a disapointment. I have better sillage and longevity from my vintage Caron eau de toilettes. Absolutely does not compare to the quality of the vintage powerhouse fumes. I tend to layer this with some Indian oud essential oil, or rose sandalwood attar to kick it up a notch and extend the longevity.
A very good perfume, unique, glamorous, intense. I love both EDT and EDP, though I wouldn't say it's an everyday perfume. Narciso Rodriguez is perfect for those days when you want to feel special, one of a kind, timeless.
Unisex, modern and sexy! Very woody at beginning and the powdery musky domainent after 3 hours.
A perfume which is cool outside and sensual inside!
Start loving it!
it's not only the customers...I was in a store where they had put an EDP sticker on the black bottle and an EDT sticker on the pink bottle..well, a real mess for everyone hehe
Eheheh...poor jellybeantree! She's right:
- black box, pink bottle --> eau de parfum;
- pink box, black bottle --> eau de toilette.
I prefer the edt: i find it a more "defined" fragrance, with a clear musky and vanillic undertone; the other one (edp) is less intense, maybe more floral.
What a lovely chic and romantic perfume
it takes u far far away to your favourite places :)
I have the pink bottle/black box which I fell in love with on the spot. On me there is an almost lily of the valley opening that is just about as feminine as it gets. I know I'm identifying it incorrectly but it is wonderful. CAUTION: I have been given the wrong product twice... If you want the EDP (Pink bottle) you will be given a Black box... IF you want the EDT (black bottle) you will be given the pink box. Same with the body cream...pink box? You'll get a stunning square black container filled with white cream...not what you are after...if you want the pink bottle EDP... I'm sure NR Marketing Department think this is a great idea...but it is a nightmare for the customer and for the store clerk. I know...first time shame on you...second time...shame on me...
It seems that jellybeantree was a bit quick to repond to sue165, when what probably happened was both of you answered anahi's question at the same time.
This is my very fav. Do I need to say more? :)
I prefer EDP (pink bottle, black box) - I also have EDT.
I hate that Katie Puckrik recommended it. I do not want it to become too popular.
My reviews are never "professional" meaning, I can tell if a scent has predominant aldeheides or oriental spices but I can´t decompose the notes as well as most "fragranticans" can. So all I can say about this perfume (that I like, not love)is that I get complements from wearing it. Men find it sexy and for women it's a bit of a modern powerfragrance. Maybe, should I dare, a reinvented CK Obsession. It's all it is.
Edit:
What I've been wearing so far was a sample of the EDP. Today I'm finnally using the bottle of EDT, a gift from my father about two years ago. I don't think it´s worth it. Sillage is very poor and the EDT smells more of a bug spray.
it's the vice versa: the black eau de toilette and Pink eau de parfum
The black is the edt and the pink is the edp. Personally I find the edt to be sweeter with more musk and longer staying power. It depends on the person's skin though.
Does anyone know the difference between the two? Is the black Eau de Parfum and pink Eau de Toilette or vice versa? Thanks. :s
I have only smelled the fragrance of the black bottle and it was heavenly, but what´s the difference between the black the pink bottle if there is one?
I normally fall for light floral scents. This was one of the rare exceptions. I totally fell in love with it. I couldn't see myself in this perfume but I had the desire to become the woman it portrayed. For me this perfume envisions a femme fatale in her early 30s who didn't lose her innocence and childish side. I smelled it in Paris Lafayette so in my memory this perfume and the bohemian side of Paris blended in...
I say five stars because it has the power to make one adore it even if its so out of one's character.
This was my favorite perfume for a couple of years, I still like it but I don't have it anymore. It's a gorgeous scent and it's not a old ladies perfume, it's really suitable for any age.
After a long wait I've finally bought the EDT, and it's just GORGEOUS!! Like another user wrote here, I think this is a very sexy, intimate fragrance, it exudes femininity and sensuality, and draws a lot of compliments. The dry down is beautiful, and it goes perfectly with my skin chemistry. In paper, it does have a small similarity with Idylle (which I also own), but once it's in my skin that similarity fades away, this is a unique fragrance and I'm in love with it, this will be my signature scent for a long time.
Oddly enough, the EDP does not agree with me at all, I tried it on before buying the EDT and it smelt too strong, at one point I actually forgot that the EDP is supposed to be a floral fragrance, on me it smelt like a very strong oriental: simply not right for me, I'll stay with the EDT.
My daughter's father gave me the huge black bottle of this when it first came out. I found the bottle fascinating and the perfume as well. It is unique and gorgeous and comes on strong...The problem I had with the fragrance is that it just didn't move or transform on my skin. It started out LOUD and then just became a quieter version of itself.
However, the pink bottle is a stunner. It has all of the charms of its older sister...but is refined, elegant, lovely and soft--while maintaining enough individuality to put it in a class by itself. I adore this perfume the way I adored the original Chanel 19. This fragrance enchants me. And that has only happened with a rare few.
At first I hated it! now... it's the BOMB. the drydown is very feminine and sophisticated. I think every woman should have a bottle.
EDT - First off I hated, really hated this perfume. I got it as a gift and was contemplating ways of wasting it to use it up. Then gave it a few days and could not stop smelling my jumpers or my wrists.
The orange blossom is initially very sweet but nice not too in your face, but I LOVE the drydown. A glorious musk, and I'm not musk's biggest fan.
The bottle is a thing of beauty, super cool, modern; although my cap doesn't fit well and spins a lot.
If you hated this one at first, its definitely worth another go.
Knocked Cinema off as my favourite winter perfume. Seriously ON IT!
It is very feminine, soft ,elegant smell. Not annoying.Flowery.For night. I wouldn't mind if someone give me this as a gift.
*this is a review of the EDT, which I'm told is less sweet and has more musk than floral than the EDP* I'm not usually a fan of florals, but Narciso Rodriguez has won me over with this one. This is a sweet floral - I feel I smell some honey in here, like flowers steeped in honey. That must be the combination of the orange blossom and amber. The musk is just delicious in this! it really warms up on my skin, and the dry down is sexy. The fact that my husband likes it (he usually hates fragrances) reaffirms that. I think this would make a lovely signature scent because it's soft, feminine, and seductive. I will say though -- it doesn't smell great on paper - so if you spray it on paper to test it, you're not doing it justice - it really smells nice on skin. Also, the opening is a bit harsh - I admit, there is something sharp and "off" in the opening (like bug spray?), but that smell goes away really quickly (at least on me).
This is that close to the skin, signature scent that people will ask you about. Smells different on everyone. On me its a clean musk that lasts a long time. This is my old stand by I use this when I don't feel like smelling like a bunch of flowers but want to smell like my sexy self. I recommend the EDT less sweet and don't buy the roller ball it leaks.
EDT version (edp is more floral)
A classy, feminine wisp of a scent, an always present but never strident musk( the clean kind!).Resembles the EDP at the outset but here they depart. The rose supports the creamy musk beautifully at the base; floral notes never predominate. It really is a skin scent with excellent longevity..very intimate but would be suitable for everyday wear as well. Strangely enough I think a man could get away with wearing this!
How lovely and addictive this scent is. So close to the skin, so warm...
I usually wear it during winter months and it is like a second skin .My husband finds it seductive and it has great staying power. What else can you ask for?
The new classic!
There has been so much hype about this fragrance I was expecting something really special but no - it's the usual modern recipe nicked from Angel of flowers mixed with mens aftershave, a concept which was totally novel at the time. Not unpleasant but not original - I won't be buying it.
I hav the edt of this perfume (black bottle) and I have to say this scent is simply GORGEOUS :)
I've noticed this is a 'love it or hate it' kind of perfume but on the right person it just smells divine...i just can't seem stop my husband from sniffing my neck when i have this on...ppl who haven't got this should try it, I think it's def a winner ^_^
Update : after years of collecting perfume, I do realize that few of my perfume smell almost identical and almost similar to each other, including this. This is the perfume that I mean :
Bvlgari Rose Essentielle
Lanvin Rumeur
Annick Goutal Musc Nomade
Narcisso Rodrigues For Her EDP
Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely
Don't you think they share the almost same smell??? Gosh, I have each of them!!!
EDP review...
I was dying to have this perfume after I tried a sample. A scent that I can't forget. Unexpectedly my husband gave it as a gift. I was so happy. Since then, I use this scent everyday, it's one of my favorite things right now! It is ultra feminine, fresh and it holds. I'm impressed with it's lasting power. I get compliments all the time. I just love it! It is a true modern fragrance that captures sophistication and intrigue. Just beautiful and classy, this is my favorite fragrance at the moment. I can't get enough of it.
Upon application, NARCISCO RODRIQUEZ FOR HER edp immediately elicited this response from me: "Oh my goodness, another one of these," by which I meant sweet patchouli. Upon development, however, NR becomes muskier and muskier and begins to remind me more of SJP LOVELY or AGENT PROVOCATEUR than of COCO MADEMOISELLE or SO ELIXIR or ORIENS, or.... This is definitely a serious musk bomb, and, along the continuum from clean to skanky musk, NR is situated just to the skanky side of center.
NR has more patchouli and is much sweeter than LOVELY, but they are definitely united by the musk connection. I think that I prefer my musk clean and clear, which is perhaps why I'm somewhat ambivalent about both NR and LOVELY, the latter of which I own but rarely wear...
(Edp Review)
I was waiting for a fragrance like this, honestly, today floral scents are beautiful but so weak, i still need some heavy and aggressive fragrance, just to feel alive again. In this case Narciso Rodriguez For Her definitely fulfill my expectations..
The initial notes are fairly woody and intense, then after a while powdery flowers with a strong presence of musk begin to bloom. The powerlasting is good. Just to add: This scent is not for everyone.
Without doubt, this is a verry classy scent. One interest musc interpretation, and one high quality composition.
Musc, pink roses and precious woods with soft touch of amber makes it sensual and voluptuos.
One simple pink bottle full of glamour and mystery.
So, attention, please.
EDP DESCRIPTION
Narciso in the pink bottle, is a perfume that I wear very often cause everybody seems to like it on me! I feel that it is a very sexy fragrance, not easily described, but the sure thing is that it is unusual and cannot be mistaken for something else... people compliment me on this one all the time and attracts them like moths to the flame! ;-) So yes, give it a try!
spanish actress Vanessa Romero wears this
i fell in love when i tried on a paper in the store the edt. i got it and it didnt work at all with my skin chemistry. i've using it until today but it just smells like a completely different perfume, too strong and thick. now i just run ou of it and was thinking of getting another one from narciso's collection, i've read realy good reviews of the musk one, the one in pink metallic bottle.
A favorite. This scent is extremely dark and deep and exudes sexuality. Think powdery musk and honey. If you could take the essence of a woman at her most intimate and vulnerable and put it into a bottle, this would be For Her. It's the scent of a woman with whom one brief encounter can haunt a man's mind for the rest of his life.
Narciso truly knows how to capture women, both with his clothing and with his fragrances. This scent is for someone who is strong, confident, and passionate. I discovered that one of my close friends wears it. She is very petite and giggles non-stop. She douses herself with this perfume, and it's so wrong and gross! A classy, sensual, and sophisticated lady knows that just a touch of this fragrance is all one needs.
A funny thing happened to me with this perfume. At some point I wanted to get rid of it and tried swapping it twice... and both times I was asked to swap it back as the other person couldn't use it because of "wrong" body chemistry. So, if that black bottle is so attached to me, maybe I have to use it myself:)))
The scent is creamy and mostly musky, I hardly get any flowers at all. Anyway the notes are dificult to dissect, they are all well-blended together. I wear it with a kind of grunge look - black and grey, corduroy, jeans, loose-knitted jumpers and so on.
The lasting power is amazing, I can still feel it after the shower, and on clothes it stays like forever.
First off, I apologize for the novel, I did try to get it shorter but no luck...
I am reviewing the edp which is the pink bottle (that comes in the black box. Yes, it's confusing but I'm positive).
It starts out as fresh (bergamot) and rose. As it settles in I get the "BO" aspect that people are referring to (which is actually the coriander) and musk. At some points it smells like a delicate slightly powdery rose but then it gets that whole coriander/BO angle, and other times it's a mix of both.
I was told that it constantly changes and it never smells quite the same and I have to agree. It's different on me today than it was yesterday, the day before, at different times during those days and even at different areas on me. The areas with more heat (crook of elbow, inside of wrist etc) the coriander/BO amps up. In the other areas it's the delicate powdery musky rose and I can pick up on the orange blossom (which is what I think makes the rose more delicate). It's like the toned down/timid daytime version of Aoud Queen Rose without the leather.
Just when you think you've got the scent pretty well figured out, it changes. The rose transforms into ??? At some points it smells like jasmine, then honeysuckle, then lilac!
On top of that, the coriander note that turned me off to it disappears and it goes from being a "nice" skin scent to something a bit more interesting (and oddly enough the sillage increases).
It vacillates from soft, unassuming and innocently sexy to coy, flirty and elusive. It's like a shy person slowly opening up and revealing themselves to you and randomly retreating unexpectedly from time to time.
You need to really see this one through (leave it on for 6+ hours) and then try it several times before making up your mind. I'll be honest, I was confused at first.
I love the opening, not crazy about the next stage (w the distinct coriander) but I like the stage after with the delicate floral musk but I wasn't sure about the occasional progression into the stronger spring type floral (most times it stays the musky rose). I wore it 4 times before I made up my mind that it was fb worthy. I suggest trying it just to experience how it changes, it's quite puzzling.
I don't usually like rose (or dominant floral) perfumes and this is the only skin scent I own but I wanted something subtle and one that would draw (certain) people in closer. I replaced my Coco Mademoiselle with this one because it is not sweet or fruity like Coco Mademoiselle's opening but is still delicate, soft, floral, feminine and sophisticated. It was released in 2006 but it smells like a classic, very refined and quietly elegant.
the pink is better: chic and feminine, tough nut to crack
EDP:This is AMAZINGLY similar to Lovely /SJP although they don´t have many notes in common. This is Lovely
too. :)
THE EDP PINK ONE..IS VERY LOVED BY ME...THE EDT, THE BLACK ONE..IS NICE..BUT THE POWDERY UNDERTONE I DISLIKE ON MY SKIN...BOTH ARE NICE...THE PINK ONE IS FRESHER AND STILL SEXY...JUST BOUGHT THE INTENSE VERSION.....ITS FLORAL SOFT AND INTENSE TOO AND NOT POWDERY EITHER! NR LINE IS GREAT!
This is hands down my signature winter scent!! Love it!!! Can not be without this one in my collection! I wear the edt but both are beautiful!
What I consider modern in a fragrance is its ability to convey an idea, a concept and not a classic image. For example a rose note conveys the idea of a rose. Peachy notes convey the idea of fruit and of course peach. Then in my opinion a modern parfume shouldn't convey this kind of images but just a concept or an idea. There are parfumes that are such abstract creatures to be able to reach your brain with ideas without imagines. Narciso rodrigues for her is this kind of modern and original creation. To the question "what does it smell like?" I wouldn't be able to quote any distinguishable note. Very peculiar and interesting. Always asking for a second sniff.
The EDP version is the one of the best perfumes that I ever smelled.Just this. A little bit sweet, animalic, warm, comfortable.
I had this on my wrist yesterday, and when I sniffed it I thought for a second that it was idylle! Strange, but something seem to really resemble, but in a more musky vague way. I like it, but it is not a necessity to me... It is kind of fresh and dirty at the same time. (I'm talking about the EDT by the way)
This is for the EdP one. I got a smell of it in an airport and forgot all about it later. Until recently when it all of a sudden popped up in my head and I remembered the smell as i almost smelled it on myself. I had to get it!
It takes a few tries to get used to it, at first I felt it was sort of "above" my skin, like it did not melt in. I continued wearing it and after 3 days or so, it finally "melted in" and I smelled it and went to heaven! Sorry if that did not make sense, that is the only way can describe this unusual feeling.
I can only wear this when I am in a very mellow mood. When no other perfumes I have seems to fit my mood. It is soothing and calm, it flows around me and I feel very relaxed. I wear it before I go to bed aswell.
It is very feminine and mature! And above all, very romantic! Its sensual and soft.
I wish lasting time could be longer though.
I prefer the black bottle of this, it smells much muskier and deeper to me than the edp pink version. I am usually not a fan of strong oriental scents, but Narciso Rodriguez is a perfect bridge between those who like heady orientals and thosw who go for pleasant, modern perfumes. I smell much honey and musk here. It's a delicious while still very graceful combination.
I sampled the edp today and to me this was a dead ringer for SJP's Lovely which I used to own. Strange, since the two scents really don't have any notes in common. I did not pick up any similarity to Idylle as another reviewer did, so once again, it's all in the eye, or rather 'nose' of the beholder. Curious now to see what the edt's like since according to fellow reviewers, the edp and edt are distinct scents.
Oh, the lasting power of the edp's impressive. I've had it on all day, washed my arm a few times, and it's still there!
I love this fragrance, it is not for everyone. It is a very sexy and musky. It goes well with my chemistry.
lovely, soft, classy, sexy in a quiet way, definetely one of the classics of the 21st century,, wonderfull for every age after your twenties,, just the musk for her is better than this one from Rodriguez..
I love love love this... I have received compliments that it smells 'smart and sexy'. Wearing this makes my confident boost and I truly believe that this belongs to the modern woman. It is woody, creamy and feminine. BTW, does this remind you of SJP's Lovely? Too similar but I think NR's stronger.
I love this fragrance my best friend (male) wears this one (black) and that's the only reason i didn't buy it. P.S i should try the pink version who knows maybe works good on my skin :-)
I had a sample of EDP (the pink one).
It's a deep, elegant and sofisticated perfume. Woody note is dominent, accompanied with a creamy-soapy head chord. I know it won Fifi award and there are many who like it, but generally the woody is not my choice. Sorry.
I got a decant of the perfume (pearlescent pink juice!) and thank goodness b/c orange does not agree with my skin. This is gentle and soft, initially i got a blast of lilac which simmered down to honeysuckle and rose over a very clean musk. It seems to be very much a skin scent- very nicely executed.
This is scent that many love and can not wear, including me. It smells nice in bottle but too sweet on me, I smell a lot of honey and musk, it is for people who love vanilla perfumes.
Hi.
When i first smelled this EDT captivated my senses immediately. It is more Lovely than Male Version and Less Romantic than EDP Version.I am loving this scent.Everything about this product is NICE. Sultry,Sophisticated, Heady,Hot,Provocative,Little Sweet, Creamy,Modern,Feminine and Heavy.
When you enter the Room heads turn and people want to know what that Mysterious fragrance is? Sharp Opening.Orange blassom and Light amber supported by Warmth of Bergamot in the Top notes.NR is a really beautiful dark floral for me.
Generally it it chic and exudes Seduction yet maintains a Hypnotic presence.I would Highly Recommend this EDT with assurance that you wouldn't be disappointed if you are a Smart LADY and definitely 25/40 years old.It is ideal for a SPECIAL occasion in a WINTER Evening.
Sillage?Great.
Longevity?Very Good on my skin.
7.5/10
This was a very "impulse" purchase for me. I was shopping online and i saw how pretty the bottle was and the majority of the reviews seemed to be positive so i bought it for around £80.
I REALLY wish i had smelt it first becasue i'm a little disapointed. my main problem is the staying power..like a few of the reviews below have said this is very light and begins to fade very quickly and unlike other perfumes of the same calibre and price (let's say "Flowerbomb" for example) this has hardly any lasting power.
Now, dont get me wrong the smell it self is very pleasant...to me it smells a little soapy (which is never a bad thing)and clean. it's very girly & probaly best for daytime.....
...But for me however this perfume has had it's role reduced to "pretty bottle on my dressing table"
it also reminds me a little of Kate Moss's first fragance, anyone else agree?
to me this is sex in a bottle! it makes me feel sexy and confident, great on a night out!
I just purchased this today in the EDT form and I must say that it is quite lovely although very light... At first spray its strong and even seems the tiniest bit spicy but after about 20 minutes it lingers closer to the skin mixing w/ ones own natural scent... For one reason or another Im picking up violet in this one although its not listed here... Anyone else???
This scent is an enigma to me. I have to review this again because I had returned my NR EDP for the EDT. And I feel its important for people to know that these are two completely different scents. I had no idea that the EDT was the original first NR scent. For some reason the EDP came a few years later because I guess some consumers wanted something softer. Well as Ive tried both versions, I dont feel it gets any softer than the EDP. It has a rosy note amist a polite musk base. It was too soft on my skin to the point that it became invisible. My only recourse was to go out and purchase the EDT which I hoped would be more lasting and a little less pretty and polite. Now Im own the EDT. The EDT has no rose note, rather I get a jamine and honey note that accompanies the vetiver and egyptian musk. Now I have to say as much as I love this scent, I feel cheated because even though the scent remains on my skin for quite some time, I no longer smell it after a half hour. Its a very clean, and again polite fragrance on me. It becomes a skin scent that others can only detect if they have been able to go beyond my personal space. And even once they are within my aura, they would never know that I was wearing perfume. They would just think I had amazing smelling skin. This is not a bad thing. However I wear scents to please my senses, and since I cannot smell this on myself Im rather bummed. I may have to use this scent for layering, and use a nice floral on top.
Now Im still hoping that somehow my skin or my nose will somehow be able to get a grip on this scent. Its possible for this to happen, because it has happed to me before with Omnia. When I first started using it, I needed to apply radically in order to get the desired amount of scent, then mysteriously this scent became powerful in both sillage and longevity. I hope this happens with NR.
Im at a lose as to why NR EDT and EDP are not marketed as two different perfumes. They are in fact completely different compositions.
I really don't know where to start with this one. I only know this was a revelation to me, having this sprayed on. I'm talking about the EDT since this was the first one on the European market, the EDP came later.
I really love it but I always miss something without knowing what. I like this one the most when I use both NR and Cristalle by Chanel. Maybe because that's the note I'm missing. If I wear it alone it's too straight for me, it is indeed very musky. Maybe I should try the EDP, I think they made this later to fill in the abscence of anything else.
Bottle design is awesome, I love the masculin, strong bottle that gives away a lot of the scent because it makes you feel comfortable and nice, it's like a veil hanging around your shoulders.
I will definitely buy this one again (EDP) if I could only stop buying al those other scents I like. Usually I never buy a perfume twice (except for Cristalle). I'm glad to be able to add another one to my short list after 20 years.
Judging from all the other reviews, this is one to try before you buy. It seems to smell very different on everyone.
Personally I think the EDT is lovely! On my skin this is a clean, musky jasmine with a hint of honeysuckle. Ever so slightly soapy opening, emphasizing the clean vibe. There's also some bergamot in the opening and continues with a hint in the drydown, giving a little bit of 'sparkle' and keeping the indoles away.
Vanilla is like kryptonite for me, so I'm shocked I don't smell it at all - not that I mind!
Osmanthus is a note I ADORE, and it's there in the drydown, mixing softly with the jasmine and warming up the scent significantly.
I'm so pleasantly surprised with this fragrance.
Today is a breakthrough!! This is my third time trying NR and I FINALLY get it. It seems my troubles stem from being a wee bit anosmic to it since now I have blasted myself with two big sprays (from both versions to compare)thier signals are coming in loud & clear.
In the case of the EDT, it is loud and vibrant, the lemony orange flower is romping joyously over the musk. Sexy, confident and cheerful.
Of course, the more interesting & complex EDP is now, and has always been my focus. The musky rose is glorious here. I finally get the dirty panties reference although as a mainstream it is more fascimile than the naughty knickers found in Montale Aoud Queen Rose.
There is also an elegance here and a soft vintage bathroom kind of smell. Not soap or powder as such, just an inexplicable clean, sweet muskiness. There is a lot more to NR EDP than meets the eye and I doubt I am getting all its subtle nuances right now, I need at least one more foray. I seem to have commitment issues!!!
This is an EDP review.
I didnt expect to respond the way I did when I tried this on at my local fragrance shop. The reason why is because when it was fairly new on the market, a SA at bloomingdales was pushing it on me. And hey, if your a SA the easiest way to turn away a customer is to shove fragrances under customers noses. I made up my mind. NO THANKS.
However, heres the power of making your own decisions. Once I was alone with this scent on my arm. I felt I had to have it. Couldnt stop thinking about it and then took the plunge and bought it.
Now that Im living with this scent I realized that I can appy this fairly liberally as its quite a subtle clean scent. Its a clean musky scent that lies close to the skin. At the same time its a little dirty, not in the sweaty way but in an earthy way. Like fresh soil, dirt. I guess this is the vetiver. And thankfully its there because without it, this scent would be too proper for me.
For me this scent has no limits to where and when I can use it. Its light enough for summer, strong enough for winter. Day, night, whenever.
It has a bit of a soapy dry down, which adds to its clean appeal. The rose note is always there. And the vanilla rounds it out just enough to keep it from being too sharp. Most of all its highly musky, which is why I fell for it. Musk and I have a special bond.
Had this one and gave it away..although something about it pleased me, at the same time something about it bothered me...I know it must sound crazy but I smelled something like...like 'armpit sweat' and it wasn't mine I can assure you..(-:
Cheap wines sometimes give me that same sensation and I'm very sensible to that...
But I do understand that it can be a great fume in combination with the right chemistry.
Not for me though...
I received my bottle of Roderiquez for her EDP yesterday.... Yummy!!!!
Sprayed it on this morning, instantly smelled a more light flower fragrance with a subtle hint of spice underneath. After about 30 minutes, it settled down quite nicely, not nearly as dark or intense as the EDT, but still provactive smelling just the same. Feels and smells a little more flirty, leading up to the sensous seduction. I got to work and everyone was enraptured by how good I smelled, Hmmmm, definitely working on the flirty side. LOL.... I was told that they could smell me when they rounded the corner, not strong, just a hint of a tease of my scent.
It's been 6 hours and I can barely smell it. The EDT definitely lasts longer on my skin. I tried the trick of rubbing where I sprayed the perfume, and I can smell it teasing my senses again. LOVE this perfume!!!
Now I have to try the other scents in this line!!!
I am wearing For Her EDT today. It's a scent with some meat to it. Spicy in a good way.
Makes me think of a woman clothed in black lace and pearls. Reclining on her chaise lounge eating chocolate dipped strawberries and enjoying a nicely chilled bottle of wine, smiling provactively to a scantily clad lover.
It has a nice staying power, I can usually still smell it on me at the end of the day. It does stay close to the skin, but that's ok, it encourages men to come a little closer so they can sniff my fragrance. LOL.
Narciso Rodriguez for Her EDP, is quite possibly one of the muskiest perfumes I've ever experienced.
This fragrance tends to be warm, subtly sweet, feminine, clean, and of course, musky. For some, Narciso Rodriguez for Her is animalistic and sexy. In my opinion, this fragrance is musky in a clean and old-fashioned sense. Don't get me wrong, this is not a scent just for 'old ladies'. It just doesn't scream 'sex' to me.
Occasionally I am anosmic to musk, so there are some moments when I can't smell Narciso Rodriguez. Every now and then I catch a subtle whiff of this scent which is certainly pleasant, but not to my personal tastes.
This fragrance smells dusty on my skin. It makes me think of a dark, crowded attic that hasn't seen the light in years. This relation is possibly due to my connection of musk to closed-up, suffocating, deserted houses.
This fragrance is not all bad, it's just disappointing due to all the hype. I don't sense many floral notes in the composition unfortunately. It's mostly musky woods to my nose.
Even in the EDP concentration, the sillage and lasting strength are rather average. I can understand Narciso Rodriguez for Her and its appeal, however I believe it is very much an acquired taste, that I don't have.
Madly in love with this scent!
Can't find anything better, makes you feel sexy and totally relaxed.
When you spray it on, it can smell a little bit 'dirty' in a sexual way. Honey/Jasmin like.
But be patient, it devellopes in a beautiful way. The sharpness makes place for softness, powder and musk.
The smell feels 'round' like it is build op from large molecules, instead of those tiny sweet ones you'll find in most perfumes.
At the end of the day, your skin still smells like fresh musk, like clean sheets hanging in a flowergarden.
Stayingpower is excellent!!!
One week ago I wore the EDT, and sprayed it behind my ears. Today, I wear the same earrings (and didn't use For Her), and guess what... After a week those tiny earrings still have the scent!
Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP has a much softer and easier to accept opening than the EDT(which is really really similar to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely on paper). So I deceided to try the more tamed EDP version. For Her (EDP) starts with powdery soft rose, clean and somehow quite close to the ‘laundary queen’-Essence by NR.
Soon it gets sweeter in an earthy way, and then sweeter and dirtier. This reminds me a lot of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely and Agent Provocateur, but easier on the skin and refined. It is definitely dirty and sexy to me. The kind of clean sweat smell made by combine light, wild rose and some other notes.
Then there’s this really weird and unexpected Guerlain Idylle kinda scent dancing around. It took me like 10 minutes, then went like : ”Idylle! That’s it.” However, in comparison with Idylle, it’s more sensual, only has a little bit of the grassy scent, with the a little bit more sweetness from a dirty sexy rose.
The dry-down is really sexy in a quite, comfy way, slightly sweet, a little bit musky and less the grassyness.
If you like something along Idylle, Lovely or AP. Narciso Rodriguez is a must try as all of them have some similarities at some point, and maybe you'll find a perfect match among these.
from my experience it smells like a soft bouquet of fresh flowers
oannna,I smell Edp and edt different.edp has stronger orange blossom, edt is more feminine and dark..I used both of'em and liked a lot
musk, coriander, osmanthus and orange blossom- sounds promissing, but it's not really like that. Bottles are very nice, though. It would be nicer without the rose note. It's definetly rose there, and it just doesn't work for me. It's not bad, though, a nice, polite perfume, would be ok for office, I think.
The black one smells A LOT like Coca Cola, sory to say this. and the pink one has a dreadful ALUMINIUM edge. I could swear there's aluminium in there, can smell it clearly. They're weird- but not in a bad way, they're not offensive.
Who can tell me clearly if this two scents, EDT and EDP, smell very different, different or are the same, except the fact that EDP is always stronger than EDT. I've read everything I could about them, and I can't be very sure not even now how they are. I can't understand either why are they so famous, they smell really that good? I can't find Narciso Rodriguez in my small town... please help me :)
i don't think this is an interesting scent - it's something soft but without 'that something'
Pink one (pink bottle, black box) was created in 2006. It's an EDP version. I prefer pink one, because as it's said in the description above - it's less aggressive, that high concentration of sweet, dark and animalic is more wearable for me in EDP.
I got a sample on a pink ribbon with black writing in nov of 2005 I want to purchase it online because the closest store to me that carries it is 2 hrs away, I can't test it and I do not know which one it was that I got. Was the pink bottle not available in nov of 2005?
EDP
___
On paper it smelled divine, and I loved the pink glass bottle! It was very heavy and piercing on my skin though, and really masculine. I suspect that the Vetiver is to blame, and also a patchouli-like woody odor. They were good smells, but I felt them very "rude" on me. I couldn't wait to wash it off
EDT
___
So, I was in a small duty free shop with not many interesting testers. I walked past the Black Narciso Rodriguez bottle and I decided to give it a try. First impression was like a powdery citrusy flower. Feminine and romantic. After a while I could smell lots of incense at the base! It turned to be really deep and lustful at the end. I would wear it only on special occasions. Very very sensual.
Comparison with SJP - Lovely
____________________________
There are similarities, especially on the top notes. However, at the drydown they are different. Lovely becomes flowery, with a hint of woody. The whole composition is light. For her dries down incensey-floral and mysterious. Very deep, not heavy though. They are 80% different perfumes to me.
Narcisso R. knows women. He dresses them to make them feel like goddesses, and he makes them smell like a sex goddess. This perfume is seductive and incredible.
Got a sample and was hooked ! Had to have a bottle. Love the EDT and on the days I wear it always feel a certain confidence and ease within. Really makes me happy! Great that as an EDT that it has the staying power of a EDP
This is really beautiful...
I only wish I knew how to get the scent to hold.
I prefer the sharper scent and glossy bottle of EDT but I need the longevity of the EDP (fortunately this too is very beautiful)
I don't see the resemblance to SJP lovely at all. I have them both and NR is more elegant and polished. SJP can often punch you hard with a synthetic bite. Not NR, this is a seductive whisper leaving you begging for more.
What to say that hasn't been said already,
Modern...this is the best way to describe this perfume as others have said. It's a floral that's very modern. Absolutely gorgeous in my opinion and very very classy! The coriander gives this perfume it's special smell and gives it spark! it's lovely. :)
Sometimes it smells so real, like...actual crushed wet petals and that's hard to find in commercial perfume.
It's very pricey so..my tip is this..if you love this but can't afford it, Try out "Lovely" by Sarah Jessica Parker! They are VERY similar.
:)
Just beautiful..modern sensual floral woody musk scent..very smooth and calm I adore the pepery in this make this one more tender and more modern in a very feminine way. not long last but in acceptable way for me and stay close to the skin very romantic and very beautiful scent.
it took this perfume a while to grow on me.. i sniffed it on a friend for about a couple of years, wrinkling my nose at the strange scent.. and then it hit me like a sledgehammer once.. i fell in love with its softness, powdery-ness, muskyness and strangeness.. I had to have it.. needless to say, I already do :))
I SHOULD love this one: with the exception of vanilla, I usually like all of the notes listed above. Was given a scented ribbon doused in Narciso Rodriguez for Her. It's a heavenly floral/coriander/musk combination. I don't want to stop sniffing the ribbon!
However, I cannot wear the stuff. Sprayed some on, and it has turned very "yeasty" on my skin. Or: you know the way butter smells on your lips and fingertips after you've eaten buttered popcorn? You rush into the bathroom and lather up around your mouth to get rid of "it"? That's what it's like on my me.
Such a shame, really. (Maybe I should buy some and just spray it on my clothes? That way I'll still have it "around" me...Sigh.)
At first spray, this is a soft vanilla-laced floral scent with musky, powdery undertones. At drydown, the vanilla fades and the scent becomes what I would characterize as a light floral chypre - a subtle, close to the skin fragrance. A bit old-fashioned, but in a good way. This strikes me as a sheer, elegant, wear-to-the-office type of scent. While not overtly sexy, I can see how it's quiet allure could draw you in.
You have to give it a minute and then it is so delicious and sexy. This is the most expensive perfume Ive ever had. Whenever I wore it I got compliments. Not an ordinary fragrance at all!
Follow my beauty blog in spanish! esunbellodia.blogspot.com
My most recent post is about essential oils and I have a haul page. Ive been trying out products by corean brand Missha.
a sheer light inoffensive floral. not super, amazing, but it is a pretty scent.
Typical modern fragrance. Good for office and day wearing. Well balanced: not overwhelming and doesn't smell nasty and cheap, not very sweet and not very bitter or sour. Nice, pleasant and elegant scent. Good for everyday use, but not a collection/unique/extraordinary/sign scent. I have edt and it lasts long enough.
I like it and on my skin it sounds good. I wear it to the office and when I'm tired of fragrances "with character" from my scents' collection.
The plain form of the bottle appeals to me also.
But don't I think I'll buy another bottle when mine ends.
ambery, milky, creamy waif of musk, amber woods and a faint floralmist, mid note and drydown r besta truly romantic fumes.
Just purchased this after smelling it on someone. Am I glad I did!!
I don't usually like "contemporary" fragrances. I'm much more into the classic/vintage fragrances. However, this one seemed different from all the new fruity/bubblegum ones out there. This one is fabulous!! Different all the time. The drydown for me is almost a chypre - reminiscent of Coriandre with a little more floral.
The day after I got it I was standing in Starbuck's and a woman said "You smell so lovely, I could stand beside you all day and just inhale!"
That's what I have been looking for!
I really loved this at first and must admit I was regularly complimented on it (though, interestingly, almost exclusively by women as opposed to men). However, I ended up getting rather bored with it and I probably wouldn't bother with it again. It is very lovely though and extremely feminine.
This is probably one of the most heavily reviewed perfumes here, and also one of the most beautiful.
I was reluctant to purchase this, the rave and hype made me cautious, but I plunged and bought the 100ml EDT and body lotion gift set. I can see the value in the raves now and intend to add to those :D
This starts out very similarly to SJP Lovely, and when I first sprayed this fragrance I detected the striking similarity immediately and was disappointed - but only for a little while. The perfumes evolves rather differently to SJP Lovely which remains a cool mossy wood to the end, NR For Her becomes a much warmer musky scent.
The musk in this grows and envelopes the scent in a warm, sensual embrace. The osmanthus was an unusual addition, it imparts an almost brutal heady apricot scent in this, but tempered so beautifully with the sweet gentle orange blossom and vetiver adds to the woody, almost smokey quality in this scent - the 3 notes seem to work beautifully. I know bergamot is listed, but I cannot detect it other than to say it adds a slightly crisp note, and thats rather pleasing to me since I *loathe* bergamot in fragrances and can usually pick it a mile away. Coriander just a touch of spice.
The egyptian musk being a beautiful base note it endures the entire duration and development of this perfume on skin. The amber keeps it warm and sensual and the vanilla adds a creamy accord to this like few others.
Its a complicated little scent that grows slowly, I disagree with reviews indicating its pure musk, the other notes are there and are appreciated as they develop. Its phases last a considerable period of time, and I can still smell this at least 12 hours later
Its a little on the pricey side, but I must say its very worth the expense. Sillage is beautiful, longevity is amazing, and the quality of this IMHO at least is well worth the price tag. I have since purchased the EDP Cruise Set and the full sized Shower Gel as well and already know that I will definitely repurchase the EDT and its lotion which is just gorgeous when they are empty, I think I actually prefer the EDT to the EDP.
I am not overly fussed on the packaging, the 100ml bottle is difficult to use, the wide square narrow flacon isn't terribly user friendly and I have difficulty with this bottle holding and spraying. None-the-less it IS one of my absolute favourites and its a crowd pleaser - I know very few people who dont like it, men and women alike.
I was so sure I was going to like this one. Tried the EDT twice . . . and it was just awful. All I could smell were chemicals, nothing else. I have no idea why I reacted so poorly to this one. . .
I had the black EDT. it is such an amazing scent (if a little expensive, but it's worth it!) I got so many compliments whilst wearing it! friends even bought a bottle because it smelt so nice on me! it's a soft, floral, powdery fragrance and lasts and lasts! my 100ml bottle lasted me forever.it does smell similar to sarah jessica parkers lovely, but it has more class to it. it's a sumptious, addictive scent.
Oh dear! I spray it on and at 31 I feel it is way too girlie, too "young-andundecided-Barbie-girl" scent. There is nothing to it. Just musk. Musk. It is so reminiscent of "Lovely" and Lovely is good on my skin as a lotion. Now I am not going to feel like I used a Johnson's baby powder on me for all day, just after shower.
It is just too simplistic, and I feel embarassed wearing this as it is quite long-lasting. I like my scent to evolve and mae its journey, but there is no journey to be made here.
I like it a lot although I don't wear it very often. The top notes are strong and it takes a while for them to fade away. Once they do its a great soft feminine smell with great sillage. I sprayed it on my arm then washed it with soap and water and I can still smell it. Wow great staying power. This review is for the EDP pink bottle.
Sorry, it's to heaavy on the musk. Not bad, but great either. LOVE the bottle design. First rate.
Funny this one, first tried it two years ago and thought it was way too strong for me.
I tried it again, a week ago and fell in love!!!!!???????
It blew me away, as it was much softer this time and also elegant.
But at the same time quite unusual, which leads me to believe this perfume can be worn both day and night.
I think Aeternitas has described it just right. I couldn't have put that description better myself.
how much i wish i liked this smell!
i tried it in a duty free zone at the airport one day. loved it. bought it straight away. regretted an hour later, had to give it to my mom..
i dont know why but it smells better on people with dry(er) skin..?
SIMPLEMENTE.. EXQUISITO.
tried it in a store yesterday.
I LOVE this scent....softly sweet, femininely classy..
This is probably one of the few perfumes I actually finished and bought more of which says a lot. I have both EDP and EDT and love them both, but not as much as I love The Body Lotion! The body lotion is amazing, it gives an overall fragrance and I never get as many compliments if I wear just the perfume - or any other for that matter. Tried body cream as well, but not as nice. Really need to stock up on the body lotion :)
In case of Rumeur I had to wait hours to get this powdery effect. Now with NR I've got it from the beginning.
EDT:
to me a very lily-of-vally-ish smell, reminds me of idylle by guerlain and a tiny bit of comme un evidence by yves rocher.
But this one is heavier and contains more woods&musk what creates a more dirrty smell to it.... And still this perfume is creamy and feminine.
1 of my favorite perfumes for 2009,2010 the EDP incredable,it's sexy & classy
wear the EDP at night everytime i'm dancing with my boyfriend he tells me what about return back to home ;)he love it soooooooo much, also my friends & the people i meet for the first time asks always about the name of my perfume..it's amazinggggggggggggg
I am in LOVE!! NR for Her EDT was a Valentine's gift to myself after a long search for a clear, distinct, classy, sexy, unique scent. This is IT!! It is feminine without being "girlie" or "syrupy" or candy-sweet. It opens boldly and clearly, but is not "thick" or "heavy". Once it settles, the notes, to me, begin moving in waves...it's never ONE of anything...the scent stays alive and keeps a sense of moving in and out of different layers. It does give a "veiled" feeling...a silk sheer curtain gently blowing in the breeze. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and absolutely WOMANLY!! I am ready to buy a 10-year supply of it!! My ONLY criticism is that the sillage does not last long enough, although my husband still smelled it. I guess I just couldn't get enough of inhaling it!!
NR EDP...This is the fragrance I've searched for. Elegant, sexy, classic. I honestly don't have words to describe it. I placed a little of FH and two other fragrances on my skin and asked the man in my life to choose. When he came to this one, I saw this "look" on his face and he said "this, definitely, without question...and ONLY this". It lingers beautifully and oozes sex appeal, warm, soft, beautiful. Without a doubt, this is my favorite, especially for romantic interludes. When I wear this, I feel like the most elegant, sensuous woman on earth. NR..thank you.
I tried EDP (pink) and EDT (black) on paper and liked the way the EDT smelled better, so it got the winning ticket to be tried on my skin. I liked it a lot!
Fresh meadow air after a rain is what it reminded me of. Fresh, moist, misty, fragrant. It is floral but in a subdued way, not a big bunch of loud flowers of the garden, but softer smelling tiny flowers of the meadow.
Two little cautious test squirts lasted on me 4 hours -- not a bad result for an EDT! Next time I will go for big wet sloppy squirts with abandon... or straight for a full bottle!
P.S. The rose of the pink one seemed harsh on paper... but I don't know what it would smell like on my skin.
this perfume has so many positive reviews! I've tried both the edt and the edp and I can't seem to like them. They just smell to complicated, but not in a way I enjoy
It is one of these perfumes that you either love or hate. I did not like it when it first went out. However after a couple of months had another go. I love both EDT anf EDP. Pink bottle seems softer and sweeter on my skin, black lasts all day and I find it more sexy.
I wear it as my armour to give me confidence.
I just recieved this in the EDP (pink bottle).Oh,my high hopes to love this one !!! I think that it is a bit too refined and proper .Too powdery and soft. The musk used here is too white, for me.I want my musk dirty with some flowers on top.
Many have descibed this scent as a sexy but,I simply do not agree.
Maybe i might like Musc EdP Intense or Esscence ?
I have to say I finished the edt now I use the edp but it has no staying power on me so I am staying with the edt which is stronger and lasts all day. Too bad for the edp, at least I gave it a try.
this smells like a slightly more grown up version of mariah carey's m to me...very nice and the edt lasted forever on me even until the next day so i dont know what the edp would do
very modern and seductive scent. I adore it!
EDT Black bottle....very unusual fragrance...intresting , modern, cosmopolitan, a day scent, more for winter...Quite sexy, i like it and i don't ! There is something about this fragrance that bothers me !.....Still....i think i want it !
This is a unique fragrance. Comes out sharp and intense but immediately smells very good. It's so unusual that you keep smelling, trying to figure out what it is. Ends up in a velvety trail of musk and powder. Very nice.
It smells like a simple, rose-based, traditional soap bar and that's all. Nothing sexy about it. I agree with Jeca in that it seems like a "modern interpretation of something older". I like soapy scents, but this one doesn't suit me. It would probably be very elegant on the right person, though.
It's overwhelming...I think I understand why it's so often described as being so sexual because it makes me think of animals in heat...
Beautiful fragrance...very sexy ,sensual, sophisticated, classy in my opinion. Unfortunately does not work with chemistry at all(almost instantly turns sour/pickle cucumber mess). I bought Agent Provocateur which is similar to NR,
and works better on me. To bad, I like this one better, its sweeter and more appropriate for daily use.

I've had the EDT for awhile and loved it (see previous review down the pile aways); I finally got the EDP and to my chagrin, it stinks on me. It smells like a balloon - you know, that rubbery smell? I don't know why, the ingredients listed aren't that different from other scents I've bought that smelled great on me, but this one ... after maybe an hour it settles down and I get a nice touch of the woods and several hours later I am left with some lingering florals, but I don't think it is worth the strong rubbery, balloon scent at the beginning. Luckily I got it from Macy's, who have a very liberal return policy. Now I just have to decide what I"m going to exchange it for ... Anyway, I'd recommend that, just because one of the concentrations works for you, that doesn't necessarily mean the other will - test it before you buy (especially at the price!!)
I finally bought this fragrance a while ago after having been saving up for it.
The scent is very pleasant and not that sweet, but with a hint of something that's NEARLY sweet (if that makes sense...).
I enjoyed wearing it, but I developed an allergic reaction after two or three times.
I had to go return it :(
I tried this scent this weekend. It was okay but not as great as I wanted. I bought Essence.
Strange, that here they put these 2 aromas together, while they are definitely different... I mean, pink bottle and black box with black bottle and pink box...
I loved much pink bottle... It's really very unusual and I can't say, that it reminds me something else, as it happen often, when many perfumes seems to be the same....
Black bottle I didnt like at all... for me it seemed to be too hard...
Amazing !!!!!!
i'm sorry to Narciso Rodriguez fan... really dislike this ...too much for me...
A sweet amber-y orange blossom with delicate floral notes, this sadly dries down so quickly to a cloying, over-sweet mess on my skin. Perhaps without the honey blossom and with more wood or vetiver it could avoid this end, but as it was, the sweetness makes the teeth ache.
I have both the edt and edp and at first I only liked the edt but now I like edp even more but they are both wonderful! I only have 3 perfumes for the moment and Narciso is the number 1 for now. I am really happy I tried both! Love love love
non sa proprio di niente!! profumo scialbo e inesistente!! sconsigliatissimo!!
The first time I tried this perfume, other people liked it more than I did. I got a sample at Holt Renfrew and tried it on, it really was attracting a lot of people as I had more than 5 men comment on it on the bus ride home. I saved and bought the 100ML bottle along with the cream. I prefer the cream to the perfume itself. Overall, I wear this on special occasions...weddings, dinner parties, etc.
Really really thumbs down for this one. I read and heard good reviews on this one, and I bought a bottle without trying it out. It's like ordinary soap with dreams of royalty.
It is one of the most unucual scents you can find in perfume shops at the moment (excluding niche fragrances).
Extremely sensual.
For me also an example how different a fragrance can be on a wrist (when I fisrt tested it, seemed just very flowery), than on the rest of the body.
I have fallen with love with the EDT (EDP is quite different from it). There is something in it that simply escapes words. It makes me feel of powdery snow flakes, and it would make a perfect fragrance for the Queen of Snow, powdery, musky, and mysterious.
I have the black bottle and honestly I am captivated, the beauty of musk at its finest this perfume isn't trying to be something else it stands on its own, gentle yet sensual, mysterious yet warm, its really beautiful and one of a kind. So many people wear it though, but its so wonderful, I understand why.......
Update: Wonderful staying power. This could turn into a signature for me.. Will update later.
UPDATE: I can't leave the house without spraying this, its very addicting!
Update 2; Just ordered a bottle of the edp, will also try it out, both lovely!
Hyacinth and freesia, warm, very sensual and sexual, despite being floral; I never thought as floral perfumes being sexy, this one is. Different than anything else I have, modern, discreet, makes skin wanna get touched, caressed, loved... life like, it's got a demon of its own, a spirit that takes over the person wearing it... a perfume with personality, finally!
I really like NR, both pink and black bottle... The smell is very elegance, fresh and mind blowing.. But it's quite expensive... i wanted to try a similar smell like NR but last long... do you have any suggestion??
...any how, at the moment NR is my favorite fragrance... :)
I absolutely love love love this smell its heaven on earth! shame it doesnt seem to last long on my skin...even thou i shower in the gel and put the cream on first...still love love love it! wonder if there is a perfume with the opening notes of this one out there that has a longer lasting smell. oh also love the bottle and love cuba
I find this one soothing and deep after it dries a few minutes. I spray it on before bedtime, and fall asleep under its power. I haven't decided if I'm a serious enough person to carry it off as my signature, but it's in the running.
its intense, sophisticated, sexy and feminine. You have to try it on your skin because on paper you may not appreciated. It makes me feel confident and grown up. I received it in a swap. It may not have been something that I would have purchased for myself but it does fulfill a need in my collection. Lasting power is not that great but I have the large bottle so I don't mind a couple extra sprays. I like it. Creamy, musky, flowery goodness! A nice change from the sugary fragrances
I didn't like this one ..i was hoping to but...what ruined it for me was the opening...it was too strong and offensive smelling to me...almost a hateful smell...the middle seemed chaotic it wasn't until 30 minutes later that the dry down saved it..i really like the sensual musk of the dry down very similar to SJP lovely and Philosophys inner grace.
Unfortunately, this one doesn't work on my skin. I tested the EDP version today (in the pink bottle) and found it bitter and masculine. After the first twenty minutes or so, which were full of orange blossom and musk, it bloomed into something extremely reminiscent of Issey Miyake. It was pleasant, but not as good as Issey (which I love to wear from time to time in EDP form), but after another twenty minutes or so, the florals dissipated and what was left was a synthetic, masculine musk. I tend to enjoy musks (The Body Shop's White Musk and Kiehl's Original Musk are favorites), but something about this one was just really artificial and harsh.
I adore most of Christine Nagel's lovely creations so this was a very unexpected disappointment. It's not awful, but utterly uninteresting, bland, and synthetic to my nose. Pass!
The EDT (black bottle) is far lovelier and much more reminiscent of SJP Lovely.
Prior to testing Narciso EDT I had high expectations and was prepared for celestial experience.
The first time I saw him I took a spritz on the test paper:
it was creamy, slightly sweet, mild, soft, spottless and seductive. I was attracted to it, defeated from the first smell, couldnt wait to have him.
I kept him on desk for days and sniffed even when it disapeared, because the memory was still strong and vivid.
Few days later I tested Narciso on skin ... guess what happend!
Cute and seductive guy from the paper turned to muscular, powerfull, rather intense flowery woody persona.
Well, thers still the creamy sensation present and yes, it gives enjoyable feeling while wearing, but where did that cute and gentle Narciso go?
Despite the decieving personality I find him to be catchy, alluring and foxy.
To be honest, what else can a women ask for ?
i got "For Her Eau de Toilette To Go Set" from the duty free.. plus the hair mist from another shop.
you can imagine how NR concentrated i smell like.
i love it, and everyone around me loves it too. comfortable, warm sexy AND not in ur face sexy..
Meh. Too pricey for nothin, the way I sniff it. It could be congestion? No, it just wasn't super like I had expected. Sad really, I always try to keep my expectations low so I love more things...that never works.
I'm in love with the black perfume!!
The black much better then the pink..
Narciso Rodriguez is BEAUTIFUL.
It's so undescribably wonderful.
I would like to be a mother one day and have my children and husband associate this scent with me.
It's a true traditional wedding scent embodying white lace gowns, baby rose bud bouquets and long soft ringlets.
Taken out of the marital context, I believe this scent suits any soft spoken, doe eyed, compassionate female.
I'm sad that I can't afford it right now and hope that it's still in production when I finish Uni and settle down into life as a young lady.
I got a NR decant from a friend yesterday. Feminine, soft, elegant - and, yes, I liked it very much but somehow it is not a 'wow' frag for me. The sillage is limited, at least on my skin, which is a shame.
this is the most feminine frag ever.It is very creamy, tender, sensual and sexy in an intelligent way.I had lots of compliments for it.and people told me that it suits me perfectly,he he he.I think I found THE ONE!
Because its so expensive and I get bored with this smell quite quickly, I bought Red Door Velvet which smells exactly the same, but costs a fraction of the price.
Elegant must be the best word for it,the bottle is also very elegant. This suits a white shirt and a pencil skirt perfectly..i like it
Beautiful, Pretty, Precious, Sassy, Feminine, Sultry, Dainty, Classic, Irresistible......UNFORGETTABLE!
It's just about daybreak and I'm already floating away into a tapestry of coriander, osmanthus and orange blossoms. With a kiss from last night's spring rain, I begin my journey into the unknown and some kind of way, I end up in the woods where the sweet muskiness of a vetiver vanilla forest titillates my senses with amber and bergamot. I play around a bit for hours and hours and slowly make my way back home to rest, and yet the floral coriander, lovely amber and rousing woods are still wreaking havoc on my senses as well as invading my dreams.
If you wanna feel your sex-appeal ooze out of every pore of your body.........Then tantalize your skin with the beauty of Narcisco Rodriguez. Because this classic fragrance is a crowd pleaser that will envelope you in its passion from the beginning to the very end.
IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENTS , AND I HAVE MANY `` FRAGRANT LOVES ``... IT STAYS VERY CLOSE TO THE SKIN ( THE TS , I MEAN ) , IT IS NOT FATAL , IT IS 100%FEMININE ( AND TO ME ,FEELING ALL WOMAN , MAKES ME FEEL SEXY ). THE PS , DOES NOTHING FOR ME , IT´S A BEAUTIFUL FLORAL , NONETHELESS , IT SUITS MY MOTHER BEST .
Narciso Rodriguez is one of the scents that became signature scent for me (not easy!) a few years ago when it was put on market in Italy. Little I knew about NR, I just saw a stand with this unusual black bottle, straight almost formal yet very intriguing and shiny. Just a spray and... I fell in love! It was so mellow musky, good musk not the crappy white musks of this world. Apparently this contains Egyptian Musk, not the white one and it's among the few musk-dominated scents I can wear.
Orange flowers come out very intensely since the beginning and they are so dreamy! I don't smell other flowers but orange flowers. I love the amber-vanilla edge and the special creaminess of the EdT altogether. That mellow warm creaminess is the special part of the scent. EdT has it, EdP doesn't. Lucky enough, teh vetiver gives just a hint of masculin edge without overpowering the whole blend. Very new and powerful, sweet not cloying, intense and delicate at the same time. It's a sexy elegant and modern scent. Now it's a little bit over abused and over-smelled around. I still wear it when I'm in the period of the month like it. All body products smells divine. EdT layered with the Musc oil (again Egyptian not white!) is heaven, but it's soooooooo expensive!!
I don't like the EdP version because it's very harsh with a strange pungent rose note that reminds me of Agent Provocateur and smells sweaty.
I adore it !!! This is the best musky scent out there, really special. Highly recommended ! I love the EDT better.
Well... When I had prove this perfume (EDP), I was crazy about it, and didn´t get calm until I buy it. And now, I even put this once. I used all my sample, and that´s it. I don´t Know if is the heat of Spain, but can´t wear this anymore whitout getting a big headache. I´ll wait for the autunm. Maybe then it will fit me better.
I dont wear it everyday..but i feel powerfull...when i do.. ; )
This Narciso Rodriguez for her EdP stands out from the crowd. I think the creator intended and succeeded to make the after-bath sensation last. I couldn't identify a flower or a specific ingredient, just the cleaness and freshness a lady has in her towel, with her skin and hair wet, stepping on the marble of a bathroom with a view to a veranda. That's why this perfume is considered so sexy, because it reproduces the generic mixed scents of bath products. What could it be? Maybe the musk is the heart of this cosmetic festin. I can imagine also powdered peony. And the bottle is also unique and very attractive, like icecream.
Reviewing the Edp now and This imo is so much better. At least it's not so busy/scatter brained. It's a beautiful rose/floral musk that would be perfect to wear daily.. Though now that I have tried all of them My absolute fav is the musc oil.. too bad it's so expensive:)...
I thought it was only my impression and reaction...some top floral notes..and then absence-void of scent-loss of all sensation! I too, had this experience. I re-applied and then the perfume gained some strength; still the perfume was too soft...then I applied again...15 minutes later arriving to work, I recieved many compliments. The perfume and sillage had developed so silently! I appologized for making it too strong, and everyone said "no no, itś wonderful". I really enjoyed the pureness of the floral, the touch of spiciness by the coriander and all the notes that create the deep, sensual, and sultry, heady, mature style of this perfume. I cannot pin-point just one facet of this perfume that is my favorite- because I liked all the fine details, and the entire composition as a whole! Easily, one mistake of notes could have made this perfume too heavy and suffocating; itś just perfect-the sillage and notes convey an essence of lightness, while at the same time being pronounced and sexy. I also enjoyed Narciso Rodriguez because it uses so many of my preferred notes, wich usually are hidden in the base- here are in the main focus, all together, all in one bottle.
I never tried it before, but heard a lots of good things about this perfume. What is this wonder, I mused, that everyone is talking about? Will it be my next obsession fragrance?
I got a sample from a friend of mine, and it is nothing that I expected. At first spray, there was a slight flowery accord - and then, NOTHING.It felt like it completely dissolved itself into mu skin...Surprised, I sprayed it again. This time, it was coriander and musk, with a little bit of unidentified flowers - a mix of freshness and something musty, reminded me of a dressing room in a theater.
As the fragrance began to unfold, I understood why some reviews I heard about it positioned this scent as the sexiest. It definitely has something indecent about it, may be a mix of musk and amber that gives out the impression of sweaty skin...(There are several perfumes that do it to me). There is also something very medicinal about it, like herbal tincture, St John`s Wort herb, bitter roots and alcohol...
Anyway - when I got to the base, it became almost masculine due to a lots of vetiver.
One must try it on before buying it!
when you step outside, air is filled with strong fragrance of osmanthus, you couldn't help taking a deep breath, and you will be slightly drunk, no nicer feeling you could catch than it. no matter whatever you are doing, don't miss it, just close your eyes, imagine so many osmanthus before you, and breathe as deeply as you could, get it?
Narciso is a gorgeous fragrance! Adorable and so sexy! A bit aggressive at first, sensual and seductive later, makes you close your eyes...it finishes with calm, low notes. This fragrance is 100% of pleasure from the first seconds to the very end. Love it!
P.S. reminds me Agent Provocateur.
I got a small sample to test. I swear when i put it on i smelled rose, although it isn't listed, followed by some beautiful white florals i couldn't identify. It was lovely and feminine, although not something i'd buy.
Unfortunately on dry down, on me it smells of lovely flowers and foam rubber :-(
(typos corrected)
I’m a big fan of NR for her. I have several editions of For her-EDP, EDT, and limited editions in a mirror bottle and in a gift set with candles.
It wasn’t a love at first sniff at all. When my mom bought it in 2004, I totally hated it! I used Lancome Miracle as my signature scent at that time, and for my nose For Her was terribly heavy and old fashioned. I almost forgot about NR For Her and in 2005 I had a perfumemaniac conversation with my friend, and we had an argument on NR For Her. My friend said that its great on the other hand I was sure that its horrible. So I had to get a sample of it and test it thoroughly. I must confess-I loved it! Thank you my dear friend Leka, because of you I found my favorite perfume))
What can I say about it now?
Its definitely a love or hate perfume!
For me NR For her is weightless, almost fairy scent! Its so light and tender but at the same time it has a distinctive character. its not a perfume for good girls, its for a “good girl gone bad” story. Its a perfume for a women who know what they want and know how to get it
I personally like EDT better, its stronger and more vivid. EDP is great for summers, ‘cos it doesn’t disturb your senses. I didn’t figure it out about the Limited editions yet. Yes, mirror bottle sounds different but I can’t tell what exactly is different, more citrusy probably. In both EDP and EDT I love musky notes, and how they are combined with florals, on my skin I have almost no woody notes.
I would definitely recommend this perfume at least for test, to everybody. Its an all year round perfume, its modern with slight vintage atmosphere in it. If you like teenage scents it probably would seem too heavy and old-fashioned for the first time, as it happened with me. Now when I use several perfumes from the Serge Lutens line(which are pretty strong, oriental and spicy) I must say NR For Her seems much lighter and girlie.
I have the edt and it is very fresh, lots of Orange Blossom on me. Spring flowers comes to mind, really nice happy heart scent. I'm not picking up any egyptian musk yet but maybe that will come later. I love this and will wear it all year round. Zesty and Clean
I tried EDP.
It reminds me of field in late spring!
At the beginning it was quite light, then it grew stronger. It's not intense, but very solid and might induce headache to someone. I'd like to wear it in fall season most likely, because it's warm and comforting. For me, it's not what I expected. I expected it to be sexy on me, but it's just nice on me :D.
Also I saw there the same bottles, but with 'musc' written on them and fragrance in silver bottle.
I love the EDP of this perfume! I still love it since introduced to it about 2 years ago, which is extrodianary for me given how often I change my mind with perfume.. When you wear it, it just gives you a confidence boost.. The only word of caution is that it is not a summer fragrance- even in mild heat it can become a little too suffocating, especially in restrictive areas...
This is the sexiest perfume i has so far. I dont know how to describe it but if you do put it on dont smell your wrist in public coz you will make funny face expressions (coz it smells so nice) and people might take you as a lunatic:)
Casting the dissenting note, I do not like this at all. It begins just as lovely and sexy as everyone describes, but dries quickly to a oversweet ambery orange-blossom that cloys and clings. My skin and it do not agree and I end up scrubbing what I can only describe as a heavy and suffocatingly sweet fragrance.
The best perfume in my life is this "Narciso Rodriguez"! far the best !!!!!!! notes moved me to a different world, exotic and romantic, sensual, no I did not ask me what perfume I have !!!!!!
Greetings from the south-Argentine and my congratulations to its creator, Mr Rodriguez !!!!!!
Softly sweet, warm, sexy and just divine! When I first tried Narciso edt, it was unlike any musk I've smelt and I was intrigued. I couldn't pick any of the the notes at all, just that it smelt sexy sweet. As I browsed around the shops, it was floating about me, now transformed into warm sexy skin, yet softly sweet and comforting. Kind of in the realm of DreamEsscents Musc/Jovan Musk, in that warm sexy skin way, yet not like them at all. Feminine too, without being flowery. After that, I was pretty much in love and bought it two days later. Now that I know the notes, I can kind of sniff them out... At first spray I think can smell sweet orange blossom, honeyed musk with maybe a hint of vanilla, but it's not overtly any of those things, it's blended so harmoniously. The amber, vetiver and woods come out on the drydown and meld beautifully with the other notes, but again, I can't sniff any of these singularly and I was really surprised to see vetiver in there at all – it must be the softest versions of all these notes. The Egyptian Musk too, is not like any other EM I've smelt, it doesn't have the earthy herbal spice that they normally have at all. As for lasting power, it goes for about 3 hours or me and seems to soften quite a lot after ½ an hour, and while sometimes I can't smell it, the sillage must be fantastic. I've had a couple of comments that people can smell this gorgeous smell and they were a couple of metres away. And sometimes I'll turn my head, get a whiff, and ooooh. Gets the 'Mmmmm' reaction from the man too.
PS: As I saw mentioned on MUA a while back, Cetaphil cream really does help Narciso last longer.
Tested both the EDP and the EDT, both stunning. The EDP seems to have a rose type note in it making it sweeter than the EDT. Surprisingly the EDP has gone a bit "Kate Moss" on me. I like Kate and I like this. I am keen on the EDP, so if I could have only one bottle I would pick the pink bottled scrumptious gorgeousness of the EDP over the EDT.
This review is for the EDT in the black bottle...
Wow!! I think this is pure sex in a bottle. At least it is for me! Beautiful, lusty, ambery musk at first...and then a sweet floral dry-down that teases and teases.
During the first two hours of wearing this, it occurred to me that it smelled how I wanted a masculine cologne to smell on a woman. I realize that doesn't make much sense...but...I have a fascination with cologne and sometimes I think I have found the perfect masculine scent for me, and then, oh no, I find something about it I can't stand. The top and heart of this fragrance made me think about this because of its beautiful musk accord.
Beyond that, it does have a very unique floral dry-down, which is very interesting, as most perfumes are vice-versa. I'm not big into strong florals, but NR's trail suited me just fine...even wearing a suit today! It made me feel feminine, confident, AND sexy.
Lasted almost ten hours, too, which is very impressive in my book. Now I see what all the hype was about! :)
This review is for the EDT, (black bottle) I have not tried the EDP.
The first sniff of Narciso for Her was very "in your face" with a grandmother type smell, but after the drydown, the sharp floral notes assert themselves and it becomes very different. (Yay!!) I have tried this one on many different occasions, and am still trying to see if this suits me.
I am reminded of an older fashioned but still very sexy couture dress, classic with silks and chiffon... Walking into a ballroom for everyone to turn and ask "who is that woman?" mysterious and sexy at the same time. Not for the shy, this fragrance.
A very complicated and delightfully floral musk, it has a note that makes you want to keep sniffing your wrist to figure it out.
I do not like Lovely at all, on my skin, so I do not smell the similarities that so many have written about.
NR makes every woman special -it'll definitely make your day as people will take note of you especially when this scent leaves a very good lingering scent in the air wherever you go...so be careful! It can also backfire if you're doing naughty things and if you're the only one in the office wearing it!:P
Lovely, smells exactly alike except it is not as rich and opulent. Lovely is like a 90% copy with red berry notes added to give more freshness and younger feel. But it loses out greatly on the rich velvety and sensual feel of NR.
I would strongly recommend ladies to wear NR instead of Lovely. You wouldn't regret it!
No man can resist a NR Woman!
I have the EDT and want the EDP - I love this fragrance which, on me, is soft with the honey notes accented. my husband dislikes it, calling it "granma perfume," but I just adore the way this smells on my skin - soft, warm, floral and flirty - like a summer day in a forest, with bees droning around to the flowers and the sun shining on it all.
You want to smell very special this pefume (black bottle) is for you. I use it for a night out. Looking for that longlasting fragrance you've always wondered about this is it ladies. It's distinctive, alluring, and very sophisticated.
When I put on SJP's Lovely, it smells like NR for Her. I cannot make up my mind which one to buy.
Yes, the EDP is very flowery, milky, smooth... Fresh & soft smell, but it's 'there', long lasting... When I smell it I can imagine a 50's diva wear this :-)
Sharp, woodsy, musky, animalic. Cannot detect any flower notes in it (EDT version) and I find it quite masculine. But how I feel when I wear it? Well it feels sexy.. It is very different than the other perfumes in the market, and although I was thinking that I cannot be comfortable with this sharp smell, no, it is very close to skin and it feels good. Thinking that EDP version could be better for me as it looks like more flowery..
I don't know why but this fragance, Narciso Rodriguez EDT, which should be perfect for me according to its notes (I love musk), does not manage to smell like "me".
It's a lovely, femenine, sensual, musky, skin scent, just a bit sweet, and I wish I could love it and buy it, but there's something that makes me think I won't be totally comfortable wearing it.
I'll keep trying!
Mediates muggy eroticism, very delicious fragrance. Feminine, sensual and long lasting. What is needed yet? :)
I have both EDT n EDP miniatures. I love EDT better n purchase the big bottle. I really love the smell of this one. However when my frens start comparing it with LOVELY SJP, it really annoyed me. For me NR fragrance is very sophisticated n modern n more classy. I have both NR n SJP.
I use an EDP.It's very feminine. Elegance, sexy and sweet but also have a tender touch. For me it's long lasting, and the dry down is heavenly sweet.Love it!
I love this perfume, it is amazing. Very classic, it goes on a little strong, but withing minutes settles and becomes heavenly. However, I prefer the one in the black bottle over the one in the pink. The pink of is a little strong, but still very feminine.
One of my favourites..on my skin is very long lasting...it makes me feel very sexy and feminine. The bottle is also very elegant.
waw! very, very, very nice bottle!!! :DD So elegant and modern! And i like more then bottle for him... ;)
And the fragrance great 2! Modern and mystic, warm and sensual! Nice!!
A romantic fragrance & very discreet, but in the same time it's very profound. the scent isn't easy to forget having a cool "personality". I, personaly, love it.
Even the guys wear this fragrance and i like it very very much
Light and not bad, But I smell only lilly of the valley in there, and it is not even amnong the ingredients..I think my mother would like to have it, because lilly of the valley is her favourite in any perfume, and the more of it , the better. Don't know if to anyone else it smells like this flower
Es un excelente perfume!!! y tiene una fragancia única, no se confunde con los demás perfumes
It is a lovely scent, but i'm very disappointed in its lasting power.
edt is soft and melting on my skin, putting there the feeling it is my own scent. strong orange blosom in the beginning then wither to meet the most gorgeous and heavenly musk in this world! the person from whom i have my first bottle used to say this scent keeps light in it as well as hides some dim thoughts. this is the scent of lust, but not romance. smelling it i imagine night in the big city, taxis, streets in the vasts of unwelcomeness and confussion.. and this scent stands there as an island, as a bridge to secret hidden worlds, softly whispering, encouriging .. like a drums' thud in the jungle of buildings. it reminds me of the way the cigarette smoke is dancing in the air.
longlsting and with character, hard to forget.
edp is definitely more agressive, sharp. i feel some woodynotes in there. no vanilla, but instead kind of a plastic feeling. anyway i can also catch lilac ..but only sometimes.
its a sensual, serious and sophisticated smell, i like it very much, especially the edt, and i like the bottle too, looks like if it was full of body lotion, but i like the new limited edition bottle, the silver one too
i like this perfume, i keep wearing it on special occasions..very sensual fragrance
Ahhh...NR, how I love you! This is by far my favorite perfume for fall/winter/night. It is so beautiful and musky. The deepness of it lures me right in. This is one of those fragrances that when you wear it, you will be constantly be sniffing your wrists. An absolutely amazing, musky scent.
My boss loved this scent on me:) However, I don't like it very much, and stopped wearing it. A very seductive smell anyway.
I love this scent from the first second. It reminds me good honey, not the one you can get in the supermarket, but the one you get from someone keeping bees.
It's like long velvet gloves. Makes me feel extremely feminine. Makes me proud of myself. It's like second skin for me.
Very lovely. When I first smelled this, it had a very comforting smell of my grandmother about it ... then I realised, it smelled a bit like Elnett hairspray, which my grandma always wore! I find that charming and not at all old fashioned. Very modern, but with a subtle vintage twist.
Floral. Sharp. Bright. Floral. I don't smell the musk. I just smell flowers. Piercingly floral from the moment I sprayed it on, until now, still florally over 9 hours later. It's probably a great choice for someone who likes florals. Because, it's a floral.
Thankfully, it's flowers I like. Not oily tuberose. Not oily ylang-ylang. More like frangipani, or champaca, or really, really strong magnolia. Or peony. Sharp flowers. If I *had* to wear a floral, I might wear this.
I LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!! :)
the most amazing fragrance i've ever had... it makes me feel overconfident, sexy and beautiful...:)
EDT:you feellike the sexiest woman of the world, EDP: you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world..:) They are very similar in the top notes, the basenotes differ them basicly..EDP is fresher I think..Both is feminine..I love them..
This is one of my favourites! It is absolutely mind blowing and special. I have received a lot of compliments wearing it:)It is deep, velvety, musky, rich and slightly mysterious. Too bad the staying power isn't too great.
This is a very feminine scent, delicate but simultaneously powerful. Very well done. I am saving up to buy this one. Whenever I'm at the department store, I always swing by and spritz one of their nice ribbons... and then walk around sniffing for the rest of the day. I read somewhere that Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker smells very similar to this. In a way it does... but it doesn't cut it - it's way cheaper and it smells like it. Lovely is like the ugly cousin who asks you to the prom and you end up hating your parents for forcing you to go. Narcisco Rodriguez is like going to the prom stag with your friends because you don't need a date to have fun and feel beautiful.
I have worn this perfume for quite a while, and have only grown to love it more. I have always gotten compliments when I wear it. To me the perfume has a sort of "masquarade" scent to it. A seductive, lustful sent veiling a pure...almost free aroma. I find I don't even like to leave the house without applying it....it's rather addictive and comforting!:D
I love this perfume, i first had the EDT and then the EDP because i want it to last as long as poss. The EDP is slightly different to the EDT but both are really nice. When i wear it i always get compliments off strangers regarding my perfume and i like it when that happens.
I also love this scent! It is very sexy, seductive and very feminine. It is way much better then "for him" version of this scent.
I like it, it reminds me of those little Barbie perfumes you used to get when u bought a Barbie. So it really reminds me of my childhood, and I'm quite nostalgic :p
This smells exactly like my grandma's cedar chest. On my skin it smells like fresh cedar with a faint touch of citrusy mothballs (yes mothballs!). I don't believe this is really heady or strong enough to be a real vampy seducing scent. When NR dries down, it lies very close to the skin with little to no sillage. I wouldn't repurchase this, but it is interesting.
I adore it, I just think it doesn't last as much as I want (I have EDP). I think that the most valuable ingrediant here which give that special scent is -the musk.
Few months ago, I was in Paris - in Sephora, and one lady stood in the front of the desk with this perfume and she put the whole bottle on her as long as the bottle was full. She put this perfume on her neck, hair, dress, hat, and once more, and once more.....it was really strange....she was like in kind of trance - and we looked at here around with no interruption... Strange sceene.
Yes, it is unusual, a modern interpretation of something very old ;o) Rose and musk, dark and sensual.
Really nice, I can't quite describe it. It's beautiful, flowery, and intense in feminine feel. It also lasts a very long time from the moment you spray it on. Something about it is very innocent, but at the same time implies lust to me... very cool perfume!
