Decent smell, decent price , but nothing to brag about. Longevity maybe 1 hour. You need to reapply almost every hour. Stays close to the skin. I definitely would not recommend this.
It's a clean smell but there's nothing that excites me about this to want to buy another bottle. If anything, it's a "before bed" smell I put on after I shower and call it a day. My name is Mike and I APPROVE this review!
White Sail is a pretty basic "clean" smelling scent. I enjoy it, and it's pleasant, but definitely doesn't stand out or 'wow' you. It kind of has a fresh laundry, soapy kind of smell that stays close to the skin. The most similar fragrance I have & would compare this to is CK Be. (same kind of non offensive clean vibe. Only CK Be is a bit more floral & White Sail is a bit more soapy.) It is pleasant though, & gives you a comforting feeling when you just want to feel fresh & not really "cologny".
Inoffensive, light, middle-of-the-road fragrance. One has to lean in really close to smell it. You would think that with notes like juniper, pepper, geranium, and teak there would be some projection, but not so. It's a weekend fragrance at best.
The bargain basement frag is how I like to refer to White Sail. This is sooooo cheap, no effort, lack of decent ingredients, no staying power, no surprise there, no projection. A complete FLOP! Shame on you Nautica.
I cant tell much of a difference between White Sail and Regatta
It's actually very difficult for me to rate White Sail. On one hand I want to rate it highly, as I do really like the scent.
On the other hand, the formulation is terrible.
Of all the colognes I own, this is the only one I can drown myself in, walk to the elevator and offend no one. During the walk from my apartment to the elevator, the scent has completely disappeared. You can get the scent to last by ''layering'' for lack of a better term. Apply, wait an hour, reapply, wait an hour and reapply again and the scent will last for hours and hours. The only draw back is that no one can smell it from more than a foot or two away and anyone who does wind up close enough to smell it will have difficulty breathing, as it becomes incredibly strong from this ''layering'' but remains incredibly close to the skin.
Looking over my own review, I suppose I'm forced to give this edt a big negative. I just wish things were different as I truly do love the scent.
Nautica House surprises me with this one. Unlike Regatta, White Sail is a much cleaner and more crisp scent. The grain and juniper are easily detected. It doesn't scream out loud like Regatta. It's a simply pleasant smell like a fresh clean canvas sail. I can see anybody enjoy this easily. Unfortunately, it does not last at all on my skin. Reapplying this every hour would help but what a hassle. Anyway, check out Regatta too if you want something more lemony.
Nice and crisp, summery ocean like smell. Does not last long at all but at it's price point it could be worth it. I would recommend something else if you want to stand out. Island voyage does a better job.
boring scent...
Pretty good. The name almost describes wat it smells like. Oceany and clean.
Nautica White Sail is my current favorite. I've seen it described as an Aqua di Gio clone. I don't know about that since I have never (intentionally) tried AdG.
I do think White Sail has a very crisp, clean smell, and that it is the best of the Nautica line. I've never cared much for the original Nautica, and am not even fond of the new Voyage (or the other Voyage spin offs). I do like Nautica Blue, but believe White Sail is even better.
Update: I first reviewed this back in February. Though I've found fragrances since then I like better, I still like White Sail. I now own AdG too, and can smell some similarities, but they definitely aren't the same. It actually smells more like the middle of D&G Light Blue pour homme.
