The red current and the blackberry are delicate but not shy. The bold romantic berries are flower blue and sometimes violet. Their union becomes subtle and sensible in a pastel milk. The sin of indulgence attracts them. The blend is irresistible. The fruits rebel, melt, and merge in the white veil.

In this blend, generous and benevolent, our berries do the Indian swim and whisper marmalade stories in a bath of flowers. Nos je Karine Chevallier.

Bouche Baie Fragrance Reviews

Bouche Baie is balancing on a very thin line between a very good fragrance and a plastic, artificial one. How is that even possible?

The fist spritz is a chewing-gum/pink lemonade blast. Super sweet, chewy, sparkling, but a bit immature- something I would associate with Hannah Montana rather than with a niche house. It does get more interesting with time- there are some lovely berries here, passion fruit, and an amazing quantity of coconut. The fragrance is creamy and sweet, but the fruit adds a nice, slightly sour bit to it.

My complain is that it still all in all has this bubble-gum quality to it, and this feeling does not really go away.

I received a vintage sample of this from a fellow perfumista and was not pleased as I am not a fan of coconut in my fragrances, I cannot disconnect it's association with suntanning products. If you like a tropical fruity scent, this may be for you. Smells very similar to Miami Glow by J-Lo.

This perfume epitomizes something that is bothering me more and more. When I buy an extremely expensive perfume like Bouche Baie ($150+/bottle) I expect to be knocked backwards with delight or awe. I stay away from celebrity and hyped new scents for just this reason. However I'm encountering more and more scents that are extremely expensive and nothing more than pleasant. This perfume falls into that group.

Ignore the overwrought description provided by the company. As others described, this is a fruity perfume with a smooth powdery base (the orange flower?) that is inoffensive and will be liked by everyone. The peach and cherry are very pleasant and the currant is piquant. If I had to use one word to describe it I'd use "sweet". As I said above, this perfume reminds me of 10 others that are half the cost and just as well-made. You may get better results with your chemistry so I suggest you try it if you're looking for a good fruit perfume but I'd definitely try a sample first.

Sillage: medium
Durability: good but nothing special
Fabulosity: not really
Price-value ratio: poor

For me, this is what a true French perfume should be... Smooth, feminine, and true to its characteristics down to the last whiff.

This is such a sweet perfume that, if done wrong, it could have been cloying like BS Fantasy or Guerlain Insolence. But the perfumer Karine Chevallier blended this with such mastery and obviously used such quality ingredients that it can stand on the edge of over-the-top sweetness and never fall off to the cloying side.

It opens with a burst of blackberry, passion fruit, and black currants. On my skin, all of the fruits were well balanced. I could pick out each of them but they were all present with equal strength (Amazing... How DO they do that??)

Top notes lingered longer than any perfume I’ve tested. In about 30 minutes, the peach, cherry, and true jasmine scent kicked in. The peach, cherry, and orange flower were well blended. None of them really stood out; rather played a "side-kick" role. So the star of the show (at least on my skin) was the sweet fruity jasmine at the heart phase.

The dry down was peachy vanilla mixed with honey that had a milky quality. I felt like I was smelling fruits dipped in warm almond milk with honey.

Sillage: Excellent! I left a faint trail of gourmand fruits everywhere I went.

Projection: Medium. It doesn't require for you to push your nose against your wrist to smell it. If I was standing right next to a person, they'd smell it.

Staying power: Excellent! 6-8 hours.

Classy, heady, and luxurious.

Wow, does this smell remarkably similar to Chloe Narcisse! When I was in college, all of the girls got goodie boxes with a sample of that in there, so I got a potent whiff of that on different people for weeks. Funny thing is, I don't see any similar notes listed in the perfume descriptions. This is a yummy scent, though - a well balanced, sweet fruity floral that could easily cross over into being gourmand. I don't find the Nez a Nez description terribly helpful. Does not ever smell sour or powdery during wear, which is nice. The fruity part is just a tangy fruit, to me it doesn't smell like berries per se. I do get the vanilla, almond and a waxy honey base notes, which keep it creamy and warm. Not too heavy, but good lasting power. Very pretty, I really dig it.

Very nice smelling for me! It's a delicate gourmand, sweet and fruity (berries), but it's not cloying at all!
Very attractive, it makes me stick my nose to wrist for sniffing in delight, even if sweet-fruity is not usually my type of fragrance.
It smells like an upscaled fruity body spray from drugstore.
Longlasting but sillage stays close.
