After several variants on the Nina perfume from 2006, we can expect yet another fragrance dedicated to young princesses, tickling our imagination with its fresh and rich composition. The name Nina L `Elixir promises a true" love potion “composed of red fruit and jasmine, refreshed with bright green Caipirinha lime. The trace of musk brings sensuality to the scent, which completes the entire composition, placed into a new red apple with silver leaves and stopper. This edition’s perfumer is Olivier Crespi, while the advertising face of the perfume is Florrie Arnold, the new “energy” of the house. The perfume can be expected in August of 2010.

I bought it after briefly smelling it in the shop. I hoped for a stronger, deeper version of Nina.
This fragrance has very little in common with original Nina, original Nina is flirty, playful, charming, Elixir lacks all that. Don't get me wrong, it is still a very nice fragrance, but just not as nice as the 'original'. If Nina was a person, she would a youngish, happy girl without a care in the world. Elixir would be the same girl, but a few years later, with a mortage, car loan, 9-5 job and a lot more down to earth ;)
I'd classify it as a day, even everyday fragrance. Decent lasting power, safe-moderate sillage, that still can get you a few compliments if people get close enough.
Notes: I swear I could smell licorice, but it's not listed? And I mean very prominent. For probably 3 hours I could smell licorice, citrus, berries and suddenly it changed into absolutely goegeous, 'milky', musky scent.
I do enjoy it, I'm glad a finally bought it.
The bottle is cute but the scent is too strong for me; very citrus.
A tip: Pair this with the Nina bodylotion. The lotion has an incredibly long lasting scent (even as I use it mixed with unscented bodylotion half- half). The body lotion softens the l'elixir and IMO it tempers down the sweetness a wee bit. The scent of the body lotion is so long lasting, can be used instead of perfume when you can't/ don't want to wear a perfume.
It was a blind buy. I decided to buy this because i've read many positive reviews of this frag. But i couldn't enjoy it although i've tried very hard. The loud redberries gave me headache. Even when it dried, i still could smell the redberries. Ughhhh.....
very nice and sweet the red berries note is very noticeable and the bottle is gorgeous.
je l'adooorreee !!!!
So sweet scent..Suitable to younger lady. Very fresh and sweet like sugar!
I get free vial from my friend. So sweet and make me happy. I want it! This my wishlist.
The begging it`s such a no, no, NO! Please wash it away. I get a medicine vibe to it, red berries with lemon make such a synthetic and repulsive smell. I was really surprise how much i hated the opening, probably the worst that i`ve ever tried on my skin. As it dries that repulsive scent is more subtle but still, it is there and i can`t stand smelling it. I was thinking I would like it but no, no even close. Wish i was able to keep this on my skin to wait for the dry down, but i don`t have the guts to do this, literally. Maybe is just my chemistry, but can`t handle it, sorry for this pour review, but i needed to express myself even tough there is not much information inside here. 20 minutes, the longest i can get.
I adore this beyond belief, it is tip-top of my want list. It is so gorgeously sweet, I almost can't bear it. That is exactly how I want my fragrance!
For some reason, the first spray reminds me of the EXACT smell of Willy Wonka's everlasting gobstoppers - sounds like a bad thing but it really isn't. It develops on the skin into a beautiful sweet musk. I've never loved a fragrance as much as this. Definately for fans of something sweet, plenty of my friends are sickened by it!
Lovely scent...so feminine & sweet (not cloying...). Very casual; it wares close to the skin, which is perfect for everyday ware. The bottle is sooo cute; nice addition for displaying.
Sweeter than the orginal one, but also incredible!
Maybe all what Amor Amor could be, but sadly it isn't.
So fruity!
Red berries for all over the place! :D
Sexy and romantic. So flirty and girly!
Irresistible to not 'take a bite" in this enchanted apple.
For dreamy girls!
Sparkling apple, lemon and red berries. I always thought I hated apple scents because of Bath & Body Works Country Apple. If it had been listed in the notes here I never would have bought L'Elixir. This was the first fragrance to show me I could like predominately fruity and sweet scents.
PS
I wonder why toffee apple is not listed in the notes here as it's listed everywhere else?
Sparkling, mouthwatering scent. Juicy sour caramel apple. In my opinion, one of most delicious fragrances ever! Aaaand I'm buying it tomorrow :D
"You smell like a sweet and warm apple"
Since I'm living in tropical country so it suits me best in winter ^^
I just love it <3
I really cannot understand the difference between elixir and original Nina.I prefer the second one.
This is a very pretty scent. It is sweet without being cloying, has moderate silage and excellent longevity on my skin. I am happy to smell it; the only issue is that red berries are not really me.
So, to those for whom red berries suit, this is likely worth checking out. I suspect it complements a wide variety of people well.
something about this to me is magic.
something about this beauty lingers in your senses, the sweetness is almost like a fairy tale.
the amount of citrus is just perfect, usually im not a fan. but this just does me in and captivates me.
i feel so beautiful when i wear this one, it always leaves me wanting more...
If you love Nina Ricci Nina, this is more thicker, even a elixier of it. High quality of perfume. I smell wild strawberries or maybe raspberries or cherrys in it, it smells the whole time very fruity and fresh and delicious and sooo good. This perfumes is not only perfume, it makes a statement.
Edit: In hot and humid weather it reminds me somehow on very sweet licorice....
I have finally tried it and I must admit it has not a lot in common with its predecessor - Nina edt. It is a lot thicker, sweeter and heavier without that citrus note at the beginning which balance the sweetness. I also get a hint of almonds here. The apple almost isn't here because toffee has taken it over entirely. I prefer original Nina much more. L'Elixir is not my cup of tea for sure. But the bottle is prettier here.
I'm really glad I didn't buy L'Elixir blindly basing only on the alleged similarity to Nina edt.
You have forgotten to put some notes on the list.
According to Nina Ricci website the actual notes of Nina L'Elixir are:
Top Notes: CALABRIA LEMON, CAIPIRINHA LIME(it must be brasilian coctail)
Heart Notes: RED TOFFEE APPLE, JASMIN, RED BERRIES
Base Notes: AMBER, CEDAR WOOD, COTTON MUSK(whatever this is)
On me, this smelled like berry flavored jelly, then, after an hour, a tiiiny hint of musk joined the berries, and it stayed like that for half an hour before disapear. Didn't liked it at all. And for me, it's not like the original nina, at all
I used to wear the original a LOT and loved it because i was young and its smells young.
Lately ive been getting back into sweet scents (after 2 years of florals) and smelt it again. TOO SWEET!
However i did also get a card spritz of this one and i can PROMISE YOU its better. It smells i think less caramelly, slightly heavier and i think cherryish.
BETTER THEN THE ORIGINAL FOR SURE!
such a wonderful perfum!!!it's a pity it doesn't last..
it makes me smell so YUMMMYY!!
it's pretty much the same as the original, maybe a bit stronger, lasting a bit more, but I can't see any major difference! Apple, citrusy start, fresh; then apple, praline & cedar wood. don't get any berries, thankfully! It's sweet & fruity enough for me! I used it some time ago for a shor time, and when i was pregnant, the citrusy fresh notes were fine at that time, but now it's just too bonbon sweet for me.
This scent wears really well on me. The bottle is very cute; an apple shape.
Top Notes: red toffee apple. Middle Notes: Calabria lemon. Base notes: cedar wood.
It just seems to work with my body chemistry. I love everything about it. It lasts, it smells great, the bottle is gorgeous. I fell in love, what can I say?
If you love sweeter scents, give it a try. It's not cotton candy cloyingly sweet, but it does contain sweet top notes that open up to something more. This one should be investigated. I recommend it.<3
I would give this 4/5 stars **** :)
Sweet and delicate, one of the few fruity- florals that i can wear. I don't get much flowers in this, to me it's all about the fruits and berries.
Smells like very sweet candied red apples and cherries. I really like it, just wish it had better staying power. 2- 3 hours on me, which i think is bad for an EdP. Lately i been using sweet perfumes, and i will happily use up my small bottle of this (the bottle is very pretty ). If i don't see an improvement in staying power, probably won't buy again though :(.
EDIT: Longevity is considerably better in colder weather, and not as sweet either as in the summer heat, which is a plus. So a cold weather fragrance it is, and i love it :)
Sweet red berries and candied lemon with a musky jasmine backdrop this smells soo good! Beautiful version of Nina.
I sprayed it 8 hours ago on my wrist and it's still there, smelling sweet, so it lasts well :)
Delicate passion in a bottle? A little too delicate for me but many of the brides I photograph use it as their wedding fragrance.
Delicious, sweet, sweet fruity a joke, will bite!
just so perfect!!!!!!!
Just sprayed some on at a drugstore....on a whim. First hit was very sweet and peppery at the same time....I really didn't like it. Now it's been over an hour...and am starting to pick up a slight muskiness which I do like. I gotta say this frag is not linear...it has some complexity and while not exactly my cup of tea, it's actually not bad!
If you're looking for an intensely sweet, fresh, clean fragrance, Nina L'Elixir could be what you're looking for. It is very much like the original, which itself was extraordinarily sweet, but instead of the subtle apple element, it has a subtle candied cherries element instead.
It smells completely edible like freshly iced cakes, topped with candied cherries. This, along with the original Nina fragrance, is the sweetest scent I've smelt where there isn't an out of place note bringing down the fragrance; both fragrances are very well balanced, and the longevity of the fragrances is also most impressive.
Recommended to girly girls and those who adore super sweet scents.
this is the best scent made on the earth!!!! really love the sweetness and the fruity scent in the bottle, which make I feel 5 years younger. this is the best scent to catch a guy, I had a lot of compliments from the girls and a lot of wink* from cute guys also =p. these scent definitely playful, flirty and really attractive, even to the guy also!
the smell is fruity-apple,no,berries with vanila, but not strong vanila (coz i'm not a fan of vanilla). Its a lot similar to Nina by Nina Ricchi, I don't know why the name is different. This perfume is definitely my favourite and I will wear it everyday. This perfume describe me so well =) and I will stick to it.
To me it sounds exactly same like original Nina. But I love it, as it's my type of fragrance.
I loved the original "apple", but this is even better: a more mature, sophisticated version. Fruity without being too sweet.
I could use this anytime, any season.
And I love the apple shape bottles of this line. I wish I could have all of them :)
I have many gourmand fragrances but this one definitely stands out. I simply love it. The apple note is done so well here. It is sensual and juicy, fresh and delicious. The fragrance is flirty but also grown up.
The scent opens fresh and gourmand at the same time. There is a nice freshness from the lime and juiciness from the apple. The fruits are layered on the sweet notes that smell to me like caramel or toffee. The caramel apple note becomes stronger in the heart notes mixed with sour berries. The jasmine is there but it is in the background. I like a simple choice of light jasmine in this fragrance. It matches the composition well and it does not smell like generic floral note that used in so many sweet fragrances. The dry down brings sensual and pleasant light musk. I also think that I smell a bit of cedar. The sillage is not overpowering but the scent lasts for at least 5-6 hours on my skin.
Overall score 8/10. This is a lovely fruity fragrance with a good composition and quality. If you are into fruity fragrances but looking for nice, grown up version then I would recommend this one.
I really am at two minds about this one. At the beginning it's almost unbearably sweet, I can strongly smell candy apples. Then it becomes softer, a little bit less sweet and more fruity: red berries and lemon. And the musk starts to be more noticeble.
The perfume just wraps its way around you with time and the people around too, I guess... I've seen weird looks at the first sniff while I was wearing it, and after a few seconds the person started to like it, just to compliment the smell in the end and ask what is it.
It's very feminine, somewhat sexy and provocative, but without crossing the border of kitsch. And it lasts for hours.
This is better than the original Nina! I mean, the smell is better!
I can't say anything about longevity though, my girlfriend tested this one only once.
It reminds me of the Juice Bar Gummi Bear spray I used to wear when I was in 4th and 5th grade. I would've loved this then. Now, almost 23, this is a childish scent to me (as is the Gummi Bear spray...if that's even still around). :/
Red fruits & lemon & jasmine are combined so well, it is a perfection..
It is still sweet but not as much as original Nina. Edges of original Nina is now rounded, and while Nina was smelling quite synthetic to me, this one is definitely natural. Only negative part is weak staying power...
EDIT: Ok, not as strong as Nina, but yesterday I generously spritzed it on my skin and clothes in the morning, and in the evening I could still sniff it. Not a great sillage, close to skin, but NOT zero staying power either.
My new love! I don´t really like Nina at all... Really. But THIS. Oh my god, heaven! So sweet and so delicious! Yumm!
I am testing it today. Upon the first spritz, the citrus stands out like a bright ray of sun shining over ripe red berries, apples and a hint of musky vanilla. It is delicious, quite simply! I wanted to buy it but unfortunately, the staying power is too weak. It lasts an hour then is so close to my skin no one can smell it.Great for those who like a fresh, fruity and light perfume!
With many others, I prefer this one over the original.. I own both and this lasts way longer due to the fact that it is an edp rather than an edt.. still this one is more deeper .. but sometimes, sinc I have the Nina lotion, I will layer the 2 scents.. smells very yummy concidering they smell almost indenticle on my skin!
I like this better than the original Nina. It has something special to it. Other than being less 'innocent' its more mystifying and rebellious. Love it.
I can't stand the smell of this perfume.. Too sickly sweet and reminds me of the anesthesia medicines I inhaled before my surgery... I smelt lots of artificial strawberries and cherries in it! Had to wash my wrists immediately with hand wash 2 times to even PARTIALLY get rid of the scent before it made me vomit.. Lucky I got in in a sample vial.. And I was surprised that there were so many good reviews about this perfume! :(
I prefer Nina L'Elixir over and above the original Nina, although I must say that I unfortunately found the citrus accords a bit much.
This version smells a lot darker and more grown-up. It has a slight berry sourness which is quite intriguing on the skin. I like the richness and the fact that it smells more concentrated, with less focus on the candy sweetness of the original. This composition has more to like with far more personality in my opinion.
If Nina was for sweet young girls, Nina L'Elixir is for the rebels. I identify myself with the bad girls rather than the innocent, so Nina L'Elixir draws me in.
It's quite foody in terms of the sweet, jammy berries and spicy jasmine counteracting with one another to create a delicious and sensual blend. The sharp, tarty lemon accord is the only note that jars with me. It comes and goes, sometimes adding a refreshing, sparkling touch, other times being a nuisance and in my opinion, disrupting the scent pyramid.
The longevity is fairly poor I'm afraid, and the sillage not all that strong either. But from what I can remember, the original Nina wasn't too long lasting either. I am not deterred completely, as from what I've experienced, Nina L'Elixir is pleasantly surprising. I would suggest this fragrance for all seasons and to almost every female regardless of age.
Wanted Nina but i felt it was so similar To Viva La Juicy this would be a more interesting .First off i love it ..just like Nina its a positive ray of sunshine scent.Rich floral start ..then fruity, sour, lemon kinda candy middle , that is nice .. not too childish. On more wrist sniffing the orginal Nina is obvious ...but then changes to a perfect soft balance of lemon , jasmine , orginal Nina ..mmmmmmmmmmmmm love it ..if you like Nina you should try this ...bought blind and no regrets .Cant stop sniffing wrist .
UPDATE.. my 16 year old daughter has fallen in love with this ...it was going to be my christmas pressie to myself but now hers...The things we give up for our kids !!!!
Except for the shiny citrusy opening I don’t see the resemblance with the original Nina. Nina L’Elixir is much quieter and not so overpowering. It’s more on the sour side to me not only with citrus note but also with the other fruits. Nina is much louder and synthetically sweeter than this. If Nina is too much for you I’d recommend Nina L’Elixir because it’s fresher and easier to wear.
Definitely the perfume i got the most compliments with. Stays on my skin the whole day and i can say it is one of my favourites :)
I tested it today, I was expecting a very intense fragrance but to me smells a lot lighter than the original, actually it is very faint. Smells nice just wish it was stronger!
I like the other nina more like this one, because of the praline smell, this one it's too fruity for me :( I would rather have the the other nina smell in edp
this is much better than original version and to me it's like it's screaming the name of olivier cresp as composer.to me it's like a mixture of nina and light blue, but better than both of them.
actually to me it's all about lemon, from the top notes to the base notes lemon is dominant.sure there is some red fruits(namely red berries) and musk too.it smells delicious enough that makes me somehow hungry!
well,it's not a unique perfume, but it deserves trying both for everyday and romantic occasions.I should add up that the long lasting power is very good on me.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS I LITERELY DROWN MYSELF IN THIS AND IT WEARS OF NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE
This one is like a bottled cherry scented kids eraser.
The expensive fancy schmancy part of me dislikes that fact, but the child in me goes nuts. I would definitely miss this one if I lost it. A great one for happy days!
CzKnight963 - I love both Nina and Nina L'Elixir and to my nose they're almost identical, but I think L'Elixir is just a bit more intense than Nina. Both last for quite a long time on my skin though, despite it being on the dry'ish side and even if I don't have any body lotion on! So, I think either is a good choice because on me they both last for several hours. I really like the bottles too - they're so lovely!!
can anyone help me? i was thinking to buy the EDT for a long time, then this EDP came out. which is better? cause when i went to department store, the EDP hasn't come out yet so i don't know the smell.. but i've always like the EDT version, but some people say it don't last long.. if EDP has the same smell but last longer, i'd rather buy the L'elixir online..
It's lovely. I can smell liquorice (and I am quite surprise that nobody mentioned this - is it just me?) and red berries in it . The liquorice smell is even stronger on my skin reminding me of liquorice sweets from my childhood. A playful scent. And I prefer it to Nina.
I bought this for my wife and i love it so much!I love sweet scents for woman especially the really fruity ones, and this one exceeds all expectations, it's an extremely strong scent, when she wears it it overpowers my own perfume all the time, and i don't mind it at all, it's wonderfull!
The bottle design is a perfect match with the scent aswell.
It's a young smell, but would go perfectly for woman in their late 40's aswell.
-Sillage 10/10
-Longevity 11/10
-Scent 10/10
oh i love this cant stop smelling my myself after spraying it and the bottle is cute
I ADORE this perfume. It's sweet yet fresh, with the lovely scent of jasmine running through it's heart.
For me this is a warm weather scent and that's partly because I don't find the dry down overly musky...it's more fruity with hints of musk.
The combination of berries and citrus makes this one of my "go-to" summer scents for those hot days when I want a perfume that's sweet but not stifling.
I find this edition a little more grown up than the original Nina (which I also love) and so it's more suitable for dates and clubs. It's a perfume suited to those in their 20's and 30's.
This also lasted really well on me...about 6 or 7 hours before it faded totally...and very good sillage (according to those around me).
For me this fragrance is a "must-have". I love it and I highly recommend trying it.
intresting perfume... i prefer it than the original which is a little boring. I think is good for young ladies 20-25 years old.
Too much berries for me. I would have rather have the original Nina in eau de parfum version than this smell.
at the very first time, i loved the scent. It sweet and cheerful, but after a month I get bored and missed my Georgio Armani Sensi back..
This version is deeper and heavier than the original. The fruits are sweeter and the musk is very strong in the drydown, making this much more sultry and sensual that the first. Considered on its own, it's a nice sexy evening fragrance, but compared to the first Nina, it's lacking the originality and personality of the original version.
Just got a miniature of this, even better than the original. I'll get a full sized bottle for sure
I smelled this today, and I found it too deep, dark and creamy on me. Like eating to much desert. I'm sure it smells divine on others, but my skin seems to hate this. Or, not hate - it does in some way embrace the smell - but it gets very, very overpowering on me. And there's a hint there that I do not like. I think it's the red berries mixed with something else. This just smells strange on me. But I can see the potential here - I can imagine how this could smell on someone else with a better result. But the bottle is gorgeous and does, somewhat, suit the scent well. It's very fruity-foody.
This is absolutely delicious!!! It's so deep, creamy and absolutely beautiful. I bought only a 30 ml bottle because it was kind of expensive and I already used 1/3 of the bottle. I save it for special occasions. I will definitely repurchase, it is really delicious and fun. And the bottle is amazing!
I think this is one of the better fruity-florals out there. It's sweet throughout, with a nice lime-lemon note running through the heart and a musky-fresh drydown. It's young, playful, and fun. It doesn't move me enough to consider buying it, but I do appreciate it.
I wasn't sure I'd like this one, but I love it. My body temp is higher than normal, and my body chemistry tends to bring out warm notes in scents and also makes things significantly sweeter. I can wear sweet scents like vanilla, but many super fruity scents turn sickly sweet and rancid on me. This is a very fruity scent, yet surprisingly I'm able to wear it (yay). I also find this scent strangely comforting and familiar. Maybe I had a candle, or body lotion that smelled similar when I was younger. Anyways, it is a beautiful, youthful, energetic, fun scent. I definately recomend giving it a try.
It's masterpiece just like most of the perfumes from the company.
Chic, so sexy and fresh, young and energetic.
Fresh, immensely pleasant. I emphasize on being immensely pleasant! It is!
I can smell jasmine easily but it must be another flower among the notes. Red berries are also recognizable.
A bit soapy, sweet, lovely, erotic, charming, attractive, feminine and seductive. Plain but deep.
Unique, yes, it smell uniquely. It's too rare, but plain and familiar.
Longevity 10/10
Sillage 9/10
Scent 9/10
It's a fruitier/less floral than the original. I'd say "Nina with a lollipop", if you get the image. I really do like it though, especially for fresh spring/summer days.
smell like good red berries ice cream ot yogourt , nice but what should i want to smell like ice-cream...
the bottle is the most beutifull from all version of nina
I really went round and round about purchasing the original Nina when it came out. Instead I bought Paris Hilton Heiress and regretted it. I still always have a sniff of Nina at the fragrance counter but I decided it wasn't dark or rich enough for me. *jump to now* I'm at the fragrance part of Boots and I see Nina but in a darker red bottle and with a sexier name...I was quite intrigued. I was actually there visiting and contimplating my new undecided purchase of Gucci Guilty and this one totally sealed the deal for me. It was exactly what was lacking from the original Nina. I absolutely adore it. Plus I got a free lotion AND the bigger bottle for about 25 quid less than Gucci Guilty. WIN!
I find it much sweeter (the red berry smell is predominant on my skin) than the original Nina, and it is missing that 'airy' quality of the original. I still love it, it is just quite a different twist on the original! Definitely will always have both 'on tap'.
Nothing ''too much'' here...I have an impression that L'Elixir contains the same notes as predescessor. It is just richer and darker. What I can smell in L'Elixir are tarty refreshing lemons (only first 5 minutes) and then subtle jasmine and peony on a smooth praline and crispy apple base.
It is very pleasant and youthful without being too sweet as I cannot detect vanilla and if it shows up - it must be the praline note playing with my nose :-)
Interesting combination of floral notes with distinct apple echo. Smooth and feminine.
Great for office wear as well as casual afternoon.
Longetivity and sillage are acceptable to me.
There is a hint of flower petals as well as little bit of spiciness (at some point I can smell apples with cinnamon) and gentle woodsy notes.
Not girly, not childish, just youthful and cheerful.
I like it a lot! Worth trying!
I do like it and the lasting power is very decent. But sometimes it smells a little too much like gummy bears/ wine gums and then it makes me nauseous.. I like the original one better.
I LOVE this perfume!!
I already like Nina perfume and this one is maybe even nicer! Tragically, I don't have a bottle of either of them yet. How sad! When I can I'll either treat myself to one or both of them or, being single, perhaps I'll find myself a lovely boyfriend who will be very generous and 'surprise' me with them! ha, ha!
Anyway, this is a lovely, sweet (not too sweet), berry'ish perfume and I just love it! I tested it on myself and squirted a lot on a tester card over a week ago and I still have the tester card near my computer and can still totally smell this delicious perfume! It smells so lovely and sweet, but sophisticated and classy.
I MUST get a bottle!
I want this perfume ! It's so sweet and seductive, sophisticated and simple in a same time. Amazing : I had Ricci Ricci and when I tested Nina l'Elixir I found the sweet version of Ricci Ricci. And it's better than other Nina according to me.
One of the best perfumes ive smelt for ages, its fuity, sexy, warm, loving it xxx
This is my first Floral Fruity EDP. I was attracted to the beautiful bottle and couldn't stop smelling the scent on the sample strip so I had to get a bottle. My co-worker complimented on how wonderful I smell. I've never been complimented with my other fragrances. Anyways, the smell is so fresh, unique, feminine, soft and intoxicating. Most of all he is not bothered by it because I know he can't stand sweet fragrances and I'm glad this does not have vanilla. I spray it on at 7:30 am and scent lasts til about 4 p.m. (It's winter here)I'm so happy with my purchase so this is a keeper!
Lotion: I got this free and he hated it because it was too strong but I like it so I'll just use it when he's away. The lotion is strong at first but after a few hours the scent softens.
My god, just tried this on a whim and have to say it may be full bottle worthy! A gourmand dark cherry suitable for adults while remaining completely yummy..the jasmine plays a nuanced supporting role and there is a fresh note underneath- the citrus? Seems to have lots of staying power and sillage as well.
Wearing and testing L'Elixir today. At first spray I get the citrus sweet lemon blast, that starts similar to Le Paradis but is not as sweet. I was surprised when I got a small smell in the background of salty playdough, it was quick but I did smell it!
Where Paradis turns to sweet almond cake with a sweet lemon icing drizzled over top L'Elixir turns to sweet red fruits/berries. I smelt lovely red apple, and cherries (slightly creamy and synthetic, but it isn't a turn off for me) that mixed with sweet jasmine.
The base notes continue with the cherry apple and red berries middle but add musk and vanilla in the dry down.
L'Elixir is sweet and yummy but no where near the sweetness and gourmand of Le Paradis. To me it also reminds me of Radiance by Britney prob because of the red berries. I'll do a side by side and update. UPDATE: Tried side by side with Radiance and the berry note is similar at times, but L'Elixir is more tart, fresh, has more cherry and is less flowery where Radiance is musky floral, and surprisingly more mature.
Overall it's nice, fresh, sweet, very berry and I am enjoying a lot compared to the original Nina. I think this would be better suited to spring/early summer.
Such a fresh, sexy fume!I really dont smell the lemon,Just freshness. What I DO however smell is my fav (jasmine),and all kinds of red fruits.Big red shiny (Give to the teacher) apples, mouthwatering! And huge cheeries ,picked from the tree,oh so tart and sweet!IN the background I detect musk floating along for this wonderful ride, adding to the fume a certain sexiness and warmth! THe notes dont change so much throughout but dtay at a (I can smell it myself phase )a long, long time. Not age specific.Anyone could wear but,it is VERY sensual so younger ladies, watch out!
