Oriflame, the Swedish house for direct sales of make up, cosmetics and perfumes, presented their new perfume Oriflame Amethyst Fatale, first in a row of their Gem Collection by renowned pianist Jean Jacques in cooperation with famous perfumer Kurkdjian. Music and perfumes are created of notes, so Jean Jacques wanted to try to create the fatal perfume for Oriflame.
Oriflame chose the perfect name for their perfume which they presented in 2007. - Amethyst Fatale. They proudly present this chypre composition with a modern twist. It is clean, seductively imposing and combined of amber, floral note of iris and elegant rose. This perfume will stay remembered as ungrasped in its character and the name of the gem it carries. It was advertised as a pure perfume poison! The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian.
I had it and sold it. I remember it had a plum note, it was mature and sweet and all in all was pleasant, a bit dark, but notes didn't change much so I got rid of it because I got quickly bored.
Certainly not my cup of tea. One bitter sniff was enough to convince me to keep away... I kind of like the other two of this line though.
I don't think this smells like a rip off of anything. I definitely don't think it smells like Armani Code (which I like), Feerie (not a fan), or Extraodinary (which I also like) I do think it shares some of the same vibe as David Yurman and Tous Touch but just the "cover" vibe, the balance is it's own.
As with DY and TT I agree it is a heavier perfume, more "serious" and sophisticated. Not one of the light fruity florals that cruise around so often. I think the bottle gives the right impression for what you are about to experience, although sadly it doesn't look as nice in person, the scent however is.
Amethyst Fatal is elegant and feminine with a slightly sexy edge. There's a hint of rose but it's super soft, and a good feel of berries and woody notes with nothing overwhelming the other. It's a nice even blend. Since I am a fan of rosewood, amber, berries, and sandalwood, I suppose that explains the attraction. I was hooked from the first sniff.
I know very well what you're talking about, janhvi.fairy! BUT when it comes to this one: the bottle is Armani Code, but the smell is not. It's actually quite good for an Oriflame. If you like iris, powder and violet, it is a gothic, a little bit incensy take on these notes.
I think this, Enigma and Mirage(weak drydown here, though) are really well done and worth attention, for Oriflame products.
In sum: nice little gothic-lolita thing.
I had a sample of the three and this one is the best. I used to be an Oriflame agent. My problem with Oriflame is that their perfumes are rip-offs of eminent brands right down to the bottles. They smell like one and the bottles look like another. The problem is that they cost just as much. It is like a buying an expensiive rip-off! This bottle is like Armani Code.
Anyway, this is the best of the three.
Did any one notice a similarity with Extra-ordinary by Avon..i love them both!
Every one likes it....me too....
good staying power, powdery scent ,heavy but in good way, but i prefer petal quartz than this one.
very similar to Dupont Intense. strong, sexy, yummy.
I tried it on a piece of paper that I forgot in my bag for a couple of dies. It was shocking at first and mesmerizing afterwards. It reminds me of incense at times, but anyway I purchased three bottles of this. A bit heavy but not in a bad way.
Tried this on and immediately knew I smelt something similar before. On me it is a sister perfume of Lalique Le Perfum (which I really disliked) but this one is less heady. Both are not my cup of tea...
It is so similar to Gucci by Gucci, only that the second one lasts more.
Both are dark and sexy and i like them a lot!
Love this one! Lots of sexy roses in it! Long lasting and floral, suits women that like to be in the center of men's attention. Night and date-time perfume, pasional and warm.
Amazing! Like, floral, like powdery, beautiful perfume, I really love it!

god i love this perfume. i dug this out of my drawer last nite- i hadn't worn it since April? I wore this for my boyfriend last night and he told me 3 times throughout the evening how good i smell, and fervently pounced... yeah, enough said.
It smells like wine and plum, nothing fatal to me.
I'm sitting on a sofa, a cute boy is sitting next to me but ignores me completely. I make a move to grab my purse and the intoxicating smell of Amethyst Fatale fills the air. All of a sudden this boy looks at me, stunned, and we start to talk. :)
This perfume screams "sexy".
This one is soo yummy yummy!! Great sillage and staying power!!! REALLY sensual. Reminds me of DKNY Delicious night the purple apple. Just fantastic!
miroase MINUNAT. as cumpara 100 de sticliute, daca ar fii mai ieftine:))
What a lovely modern milky plum intrance.Whispering softly,LOok at me ,take in my divine essence.IT DEEPENS like lovers eyes locked in a i want u stare. It is sooo sexy.U embrace kiss, then smolder down into a bed of roses kissed with amber.I would feel so loved if someone wore this for me.A true gift!!
Additional information, Jean Jacques is real artist both pianist & perfumer. Before study in Perfumer school, he graduated from The Conservatoire de Paris, a college of music and dance.
I want to confirmed that this fragrance created by Jean Jacques. It have a grand opening party in Bangkok which I have chance to joined.
For me, the scent is warm & sweet. Suits for winter. It's not my style but one of my college very love it. When she wear it, I can smell the scent every time when walking pass her.
I think it's not bad, top is diffuse with full body and very substantive on skin. Just not my style.
i do not like it sory, and i find it very intoxicated, it smells like an expired lipstick . not for me
@Action
this is NOT from parfumeur Francis Kurkdjian, it s from Jean Jacques !
I can't describe the smell as till date i am not able to find the notes of the perfume. its very strong and i will not suggest this. But one thing to say its a good EDP and long lasting.
Francis Kurkdjian is a real genius!

The Ultimate Femme Fatale. Frangrance
I love chypres and I love Kurkdjian, and I would also love to know how this smells on me, but that's not happening. There are certain fragrances that I just can't smell on myself, and this is one of them. I've tried three times now, and i just can't carry this scent long enough to evaluate it :-(
it smells nice and it's long lasting.. i love it
This is the ultimate poison of fragrance! Just astonishing. It begins slightly vinegary and minty but the whole process of aging on your skin, of developing is amazing. It brings you that deadly sexuality that every women desires.
I don't know why but I prefer this perfume for winter cold days because that is the time when you need your inner sexuality to be shown and sensed from far away (since clothes cover up the rest ;) )
When I first smelt it I thought that I couldn't handle it but the smell learns to except your body as you learn to except the smell.
Feel it and you will love it. The pure poisonous and mysterious smell.
Starts with a lovely ambrette-y rose-iris: A tiny bit powdery, very rich and feminine. Then it dries down to an oversweet Feerie-style sugared iris-violet that rapidly becomes cloying. I love the onset and wish it lasted longer.
I totally agree with Halvah, the fragrance has nice higher notes, then it gets heavy & I didn't like the way it gets!!
However, Petal Quartz is very feminine & lovely
I thought this was the first in line. I would assume it's chypre notes last only a few pleasant moments, after that it has a very strong and not really sophisticated but long lasting vanilla scent, which I was not able to wear. Did somabody try the next Gem Petal Quartz?
another of the gemstones. the perfume made for the sake of making the next of in line. i haven't tried it, but to me these 'line' fragrances lose a bit of credibility.
