Frangipani or plumeria is probably one of the most beautiful tropical flowers. A perfume by Ormonde Jayne was dedicated to it.
Its composition is very feminine, with a wonderful development which includes many gorgeous components. Starting from sparkling lime, unforgettable linden blossom and magnolia, the fragrance opens its opulent floral heart. Intoxicating frangipani is joined by jasmine and tuberose absolute. Beauty of flowers is accentuated with fruity nuance of plum and oil of green orchid.
Velvety final notes with cedar, musk, amber and French vanilla accompany flowers perfectly, soften their lushness and fondle skin with their beauty.
The fragrance is available in perfume concentration (30% extract) and perfume water concentration (25%) in 50 ml flacon.
Flacon is simple, elegant and made of thick glass, while box is made in two colours – mandarin and ebony. The nose is Linda Pilkington. Frangipani was launched in 2003.

It seems that those who've visited Hawaii or the South Pacific hold a special place in their heart for Frangipani, and this is the case for me. I love this delicate, proud flower, and OJ's version the perfect showcase.
While it is a straight up floral, there is just enough 'something else' to keep this from being a frilly foo foo scent. It's balmy and exotic, like a calm evening walk on a far flung beach.
I suspect the parfum version (which I'm trying), notches it up a bit, but I'm really enjoying my sample. It wears like a whisper and the mood is elusive, but at the end of the day I like it, and in general I"m not a fan of white florals.
This is an extremely lovely submission by this house.
This is a pretty tropical floral, fairly commercial smelling, but enjoyable to wear. According to the notes on the OJ website, it’s a mix of many different floral notes, including something called “green orchid oil”. I have no idea what that is, since I doubt that it’s extracted from a real orchid flower. Maybe it’s a type of vanilla, which is an orchid, or maybe it’s a fantasy accord called “green orchid” for lack of a better name.
With plenty of sillage, this linear scent of mixed tropical flowers lasts all day. I tested this immediately after thoroughly scrubbing off a perfume that I strongly disliked, so maybe the contrast effect caused me to like Frangipani more than it really deserves, but in any case it should appeal to lovers of floral scents.

Does anyone know where I can find a sample of this?
Starts out as a bright floral accord with linden and lime very prominent. Voluptuous magnolia then makes a discreet showing, which quickly infuses softly into the heart.
Jeca is right—the frangipani here is very delicate, but distinct. Like a waft of the flower on a cool gentle breeze, no big balmy tropics or heat.
Amber, musk and vanilla add to the sweet radiance while cedar keeps it clean all the way.
White voile curtains billowing in an open room of a Pacific ocean beach house…
I too spent some time in Hawaii - smelt the lush wet frangipani flowers and visited the volcanos - would try this just to smell the memories of this wonderful time in my life!
A delicate the most fragile Frangipani ever created by a perfumer. You feel the flower without any annoying fruitiness, only the big white creamy flower.
This is very different from most perfumes I've tried-it's probably more natural and concentrated for a start. It's quite strong on me but the jasmine, tuberose, musk and vanilla are unobtrusive in the mix. It smells like a heady floral and very much like frangipani, not masculine, powdery or aldehydic. Not sure if I love it yet as it's quite different from what i'm used to
a few more notes on this one- I had high hopes for it, as it was my first niche sample decant, but was under-whelmed-
Soft and very feminine. Seems more like a soliflore than a fruity/floral blend, and only lasted about two/three hours- not much sillage, either.
The musk is too prominent for me, I get some floral water thing going on too. I cannot wear musks, reminds me of NR for her too much.
Mals86 has said it all. The lasting power is the best I have found and it doesn't get old and musty.
In the summer of 2007, I visited Hawaii, and there smelled the most luscious frangipani. When I first tested this fragrance, it was like being there again: the citrus, the lush greenery, the flowers, the vanilla... I even get watery notes, which is perfect, given that it rains frequently in the islands. A softly sweet green floral with very little fruit (only the citrus in the opening and a hint of plummy sweetness in the heart), it dries down to a gentle woody amber.
I will wear this one and remember the gorgeous gardens, the glorious sunsets, the stunning volcanoes, the tropical warmth, and the caressing waters.
It's like an ice-cream, an exotic scent which is sharply floral bright from the first notes, it becomes creamy (like some kind of butter) and softer after a while, but still very exotic.
Another floral by OJ I want badly.
