Indian Coconut Nectar is the smell of natural ingredients and essential oils, inspired by faraway destinations and tropical travels. It contains notes of vanilla, coconut, vetiver, and ambrosia flower. Available in bottles of 35 ml with an accompanying collection for body care. Indian Coconut Nectar was launched in 2010.
"Where is the coconut?", was one of the first things I uttered when I tried Indian Coconut Nectar for the first time. It smelt a lot like cherry flavoured cough syrup which reminded me of feeling ill as a child. This was not that delicious, foody coconut on a tropical island that I was searching for.
The opening was very sweet and gooey, with a strong cherry accord. My father was quick to comment that I smelt like a lollipop. The sweetness actually made me feel a little self-conscious, so I was quick to cover my wrists with a thick jacket sleeve to subdue the sillage.
For at least the first hour or so, Indian Coconut Nectar seemed to be all about the cherries, until thankfully the heart introduced the 'coconut'. This coconut accord is perhaps more vanillary than most, also a tad synthetic. It's not dry, nor is it tropical. On the skin it smells pleasing enough, however it's not what I'd call a truthful interpretation of coconut. I've owned lotions and lip balms that smell more coconutty than this.
My disappointment has evidently spilled over into this review. I find the name very misleading. To be fair, I have given this fragrance two chances, and I found that on the second day of wearing, Indian Coconut Nectar has a rather pretty drydown, which is probably the most coconutty you'll get from this composition.
The scent's good points include its rather strong sillage and great longevity. The drydown, as I mentioned before, is commendable. I only wish that the whole composition was as satisfying. This review is for the EDT, however from what I've read, the solid perfume is much better.
This is a sweet & salty coconut...
it dose smell a little like play-dough but as it dry's down that dissipates what is left is a lovely sweet coconut...
Notes picked up: vanilla and coconut
What it ended up smelling like was cherry chapstick and playdoh. I actually love it.
Brings back memories I guess.
For a Pacifica fragrance this is actually quite long lasting but to acquire any projection after a while application will be necessary unless you want this to be a skin scent- which would be a good idea since this is sweet and oily and could possibly be cloying.
last summer my friend got this and it smelled great... so I decided to pick up the roll on...
I don't know why but it smells like play-dough to me :(
will try again and see where I stand, cus I really loved it last summer...
ok I am sadly taking this off my list, smells horribly synthetic and kinda plasticy. After about an hour or more u get a dried down version of Coty's Vanilla Fields. If u like that smell save yourself from the beginning of this and just go with the Vanilla Fields, there so no nice coconut here at all.
This smells pretty good. It has a warm, creamy, coconut vanilla scent to it. I like the scent of the solid perfume the best.
Very artificial smelling and hardly any coconut scent comes through at all.
I have to agree with people who say it is a bit plastic-y but I do like coconut so am giving it some time. I like LaVanila too and this is similar to Vanilla Coconut. Definitely a warm weather type of fragrance.
Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion all the way! Fortunately, I just loved that stuff as a kid. I don't know if they still make it, but I still have fond memories of it. I have the purse-sized perfume roll-on bottle which is handy for re-application since it doesn't hang around for long on my skin. However, it goes on strong at first, in an intoxicating blast of scent which becomes quite tame in about ten minutes. After about an hour it stays very close to the skin and becomes much more civilized. I like the fact that the dry down becomes such a mellow barely-there tropical-floral scent because it would actually be obnoxious if it didn't. This perfume dances around with wild abandon, then sits down and behaves like a lady. It's just like a little vacation from the everyday, a reminder of what it smelled like to be twelve years old, covered in Hawaiian Tropic, sitting on the beach, with sand stuck all over me.
This Pacifica perfume is very nice, if you like coconut. It starts out smelling clean and light, like young coconut water. But the fragrance quickly settles into the skin and becomes a soft vanilla-coconut. I personally don't think coconut ever smells real. It's a note that I don't understand why people would want to wear. I don't know why...But if I were ever forced to wear coconut, I would most definitely wear this one. I always say the same thing in my Pacifica reviews, but this would be great for layering. I would try layering with Malibu Lemon Blossom or maybe Waikiki Pikaki for a tropical feel.
Indian Coconut Nectar is pure tropical-holiday fun. "Nectar" is a very appropriate name, as it smells to me like warm, caramelized coconut syrup. This is undeniably very sweet. Not everyone will like that about it, but personally I do....I find it delicious! And not synthetic at all. It's quite a simple little scent - basically a creamy vanilla and coconut cocktail. I love it.
I bought a spray bottle of this scent- coconut is my absolute favorite smell. However this perfume did not mesh well with my chemistry, after about 15 minutes it ended up smelling really sickly sweet and plastic like on me. I gave it to my teenager who loves it.

This is pure summer in a bottle!!
You're lying on the beach, applying suntan lotion, and ordering a fruity drink, then your drink is served (the cute little umbrella included) in a coconut shell.
This tends to be a heavy, sweet coconut on me. Vanilla and coconut. Simple. Just like a summer should be.
The first thing that came to my mind when applied this gentle, natural fragrance, was the juicy flesh of peaches or nectarines or perhaps even apricots a little, but no coconut! That on me emerges very softly (along with the vanilla) quite a bit later. This scent is lightly sweet, pretty, easy, simple, yummy and vanillic baby, that is, indeed, comforting, snugly and cozy, rather than exotic.
I got this in solid form- it came in the mail today. I can see why it has lots of 'likes' but few 'loves' on this site. It just smells... okay. I don't think it will end up being a favourite- I can smell coconut and vanilla, but they combine to give off that plastic, waxy Play-Doh smell that many mainstream coconut-based perfumes tend to have. It's a little bit fake-scented, but a little bit nice too. For a solid perfume, there is not much longevity and intensity at all.
Update: I don't know how I've missed this, but the drydown smells like milk and caramel- a bit like Peters vanilla ice-cream.
Another note: My sister wore some of this and it did not smell plastic-y on her at all- it smelled like how it was supposed to smell like: tropical flowers and vanilla- gave it away to her!
This is a nice coconut scent for the summer months. It actually kind of smells the way coconut tastes in the first minute, and then after that it gets all sweet and spicy. Its very inoffensive and quite pleasant actually. So far I just have the perfume but I'd love to get my hands on the bath and body products. It makes me feel very calm for some reason. I just kind of wish the vetiver was a tad more prominent.
At first I was a little taken aback by the plasticy coconut sweetness of this. I agree that's definitely how it starts out. But then upon letting it rest on my skin - and I'll have to admit writing it off a bit - I kept thinking - what smells so good in here? Needless to say it was the Indian Coconut Nectar. The warm sugary vanilla began to seep through and kind of sneakily wind itself into the coconut. The scent became thicker and more natural. Fresh coconut flesh simmering in sugared vanilla in the end. Delicious and fun for summer. It is quite simple, but also pleasantly sweet. It wears fairly close to the skin with the occasional reminding pulse of scent here and there. Fades quickly. You'll need to reapply if you want it to last .
I really wanted to like this, unfortunately the coconut note smells kinda plastic-y and fake on me and improves slightly on the dry down :/
Simple, creamy - a nice summer hang about smell. Best for body cream. Still searching for the perfect warm day scent.
This fragrance is not sophisticated, complex or expensive.
What it is though, is sweet, creamy and coconutty!
I like this fragrance, but can't quite love it owing to the sour milk that is lurking quietly in the background.
This review is based on the solid version.
I love this one. Smells like Coconut milk or even better Hawaiin Tropic Suntan Lotion. It has a pleasant scent and is perfect for summer. I will definately buy this as it is fun and sexy, in a sweet sassy way.
I love it, it is refreshing and fresh. Smells like sweet coconut and vanilla. Smells fresher than Lavanilla vanilla. Nice that it is also natural and not synthetic. I have a lot of synthetic man made scents, and it I like having earth friendly...Nice for people that do not want .
