I've been a FIL fan for a few years, seems like formula changed along with the staying power. This is met to be worn while cuddling someone in close proximity is in for a treat. Don't bathe in this expecting a huge scent payoff, this is a light sweet warm scent perfect for being close to that special someone. The guy who does my nails compliments me when I wear this. A little pricey for the size but hey, a scent addict wants what she wants:)
at first i didnt care for this scent, but i found a jar of the body butter at tj maxx and i absolutely love it, to me it smells like blackberry mixed with the amazing grace scent, i love it, and today i am goig up to the mall to buy some shower gel.... I would sy, give it a chance, ....
I'm sorry to say this, but I find this scent extremely musty and stinky. I can't say it's fruity or anything. It just makes me want to wash it off right away.
I was just in Nordstrom's this afternoon and took a sniff of Trish McEvoy's Blackberry and Vanilla musk. It literally smelled just like this stuff, which I already have - what joy!
I love the smell of Falling in Love - it's very youthful and uplifting - and I'd even argue that on me, this scent lasts a long time. Lasts even longer when sprayed on clothes. Sweet, fun, and pleasant.
some people love it, some people dont. I dont know what
it is. It dose smell sweet but I can say, I own a lot
of perfumes, over the years. For some reason this
grew on me I love it. One thing I wished that it had
was the staying power. Looking forward to trying
pure grace!!
I am always complimented when I wear this fragrance, I wish it lasted a little bit longer.
This fragrance isn't necessarily anything special in my opinion, but that is part of its appeal. It is very soft, light, and fresh, and is the most un-offensive fragrance I own. The sweetness and floral scent is very subtle and clean-smelling, and the sillage is not intense at all. Since it is an EDT, it doesn't last on me very long, but this also makes it a great refresher for a hot summer day. I do like this perfume, but I don't think I will repurchase it when I run out, as my tastes are changing.
This fragrance is so not "me", but I enjoy it a great deal when I want to feel young. The perfumed hand lotion helps the fragrance last (as it has been said before, the longevity is very poor). I rub the perfumed hand lotion on my hands and forearms, then I apply the perfume on top.
The scent itself smells feather-light and sweet like clouds made from cotton candy mixed with the fine and wispy hair of a cherub. Very comforting and child-like. Unlike other sweet/tween scents, it doesn't smell overly chemical or like fruity bug spray. I like it. My boyfriend and my cats like it too.
Nice fruity perfume not unique at all, but good for every day wear. Would suit a young girl very well. Doesn't last on skin, but stays on clothing for ages.
This is one of my favorite scents. I don't understand the comments about it not lasting. I can smell it on my clothes and skin the day after I wear it. I've never had it start off sweet-smelling and then have it turn to a sour scent. To the person who complained of that---maybe it doesn't work well with your natural chemicals. I had friends who couldn't wear Victoria's Secret Love Spell for that reason. I think Falling In Love is a wonderful, light, fun, flirtly fragrance. I'd recommend it to anyone.
One of those scents I wanted to like, as I was actually falling in love at the time I bought it. Unfortunately, it doesnt do much on the skin. It smells juicy, then turns to a weird sour smell on my skin. I would have found it boring if I wasnt grossed out, and luckily, it disappears in about an hour.
This scent smells nice but it smells just like Victoria's Secret PINK fruity & bright (which is now discontinued) and I sold that scent because I got bored of it so I probably won't end up buying this.
It's just too light. I bought a QVC special, lotion, shower gel, and body spritz. Too expensive to send back. This is just not a winner. I would like it if it lasted.
I wore this a lot in middle school. I thought I was the hottest damn thing around. Then one of my friends told me that I smelled like a Pop Tart.
:/
I know a lot of people that love this fragrance but it's just too sweet for me. It seems juvenile to me and it makes me ill after I smell it. I bought it online without ever smelling it.
I love this scent. Unfortunately, it has the staying power of a light body spray on me. In fact, I have a body spray from Hot Topic that smells just like it and it lasts just as long if not longer!
As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a very sweet perfume. Berries, cotton candy and bit a bit of musky vanilla. I prefer Philosophy's Unconditional Love, which I think has a bit more depth and warmth.
However, I do always keep a small bottle of Falling in Love on hand. I wear it occasionally in the spring/summer. It always makes me feel happy.
Sillage is okay, but as with most of Philosophy's fragrances, it doesn't last for very long. Perhaps only a couple of hours, even if layered with lotion. Which is a shame, because I like most of their perfumes and would wear them more often if they lasted longer!
Can you say cotton candy on crack???? I jumped about 30 feet away from the bottle. It smelled like burnt sugar UGH.... Needs to come with a warning label saying caution wearing may cause diabetes!!!!! THUMBS DOWN!!!
I wanted to try this one out after reading many comparisons to Trish McEvoy's 9 Blackberry Vanilla Musk, one of my favorites and many others' favorite in my collection. This one just fell flat to me... just doesn't have the same depth as 9. Its slightly sweeter, lighter, could detect the vanilla a little better... but it lacks the tartness I crave from my favorite berry and what is captured so well in 9. Additionally I find 9's rose to be much more complimentary than the lily. Philosophy's version comes off so simple it almost smells cheap to me; just not worth replacing the fragrance I've been coveting for about 7 years now.
I wear Falling in Love probably more than any other fragrance I own. It is a very soft, inoffensive scent that draws a lot of compliments. A little bit of blackberry mixed with a soft musk....lovely!
Falling In Love was my first Philosophy fragrance purchase ever! Now just so everyone knows that I did not rush to judgement in reviewing this fragrance, I purchased the 0.5 ounce spray in November 2011. I also recommend anyone loving fragrances that feature musk, vanilla, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and blackberry try this fragrance. The only problem this fragrance posed for me is that musk and my body chemistry produce an undesirable scent that smells very close to Off bug spray (not really something I like to smell like). It took a little research to find out what note was producing such an undesirable scent on me, but after researching the fragrance notes of other fragrances I have tried that also smelled funky on me, for lack of a better word, they all have one common note, musk. If anyone out there has a similar problem I would suggest trying Unconditional Love because It features a fruity black currant fragrance and some light floral notes, no musk. I have not tried any of the grace fragrance sprays so I am not currently able to comment on those fragrances yet. I am giving this fragrance 3 out of 5 stars based only on my personal experience with this fragrance and how it smelled on me. Fragrance is so personal and individual to each and every one of us that this review is just sharing my own experience with this fragrance and by no means meant to detour anyone from trying this fragrance. I would just like to add that I did not have any issues with this particular fragrance and it's staying power or being too overpowering. I am one of those people who has allergies and sensitivity to many fragrances, so even though this did not smell the greatest on me, it did not cause me to have any allergic reactions which for me is great! I'm so excited to try the new Love Sweet Love fragrance spray by Philosophy coming soon!
This is also my very first review I have posted on this website and I really hope it is helpful to some of you out there. I love reading all of your reviews, thank you for taking time to write them and educating me in the wide world of fragrance!
This is one of the only scents that my body chemistry doesn't outright reject. Other white/fruity florals go sour on me! It opens sweet and floral, then a couple hours later the blackberry surfaces in a vanilla confection. It isn't so sweet as to be teenage girl, but more college age young sweet sophisticate bookish kind of girl. My mother loves opium and those musky scents, but strangely fell for Falling in love... It works with both our chemistries, but alas, it is not my signature scent. I was looking for a more bold zest to it, but it is a tried and true lovely scent that will always be on my shelf. Oh, and I have yet to meet a man who doesn't do an about face when he sniffs this!
While I ADORE this scent, the projection and lasting power are terrible, even though I have the EDP. Because of this, I have to treat it more like a body spray and keep re-applying. The smell is lovely, elegant and sweet, and completely non-offensive. I don't see how anyone could not like this.
Oh i just receive this for Christmas after being apart from it for years! Yes, it's sweet and jammy. It's my comforting dreamy scent when I don't wanna try to boost extra confidence or make any statement. It also reminds me vaguely of Bond No.9 Scent Of Peace. For how much it is and its quality, i think it's a winner.
Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to take up yet another Philosophy unperfume this afternoon: FALLING IN LOVE, which fortunately is a vast improvement on INNER GRACE, which however can hardly be viewed as a compliment, given that I actually had to resort to a scrub to get that chemical soup off my skin. FALLING IN LOVE strikes me as somewhat cynical, an expression of the age-old wisdom that “not all that glitters is gold,” one corollary of which is that not every crush attains the status of true love.
FALLING IN LOVE opens as a sweet, jammy, laundry scent. Yes, difficult to believe but no less for that true, “sweet laundry” is in fact a twenty-first century fragrance category, and FALLING IN LOVE is a member of that class—at least in its opening, until it dries down like the residue at the bottom of an almost empty jar of berry jam: thick and unspreadable dark fruits. Very shallow, this fragrance may have surface appeal but quickly becomes boring, like a person who seemed loveable until he opened his mouth. Or even worse, left a piece of his screed lying about, revealing to all the barrenness of his soul. He might be okay for a one-night stand, but falling for him is not FALLING IN LOVE. A more appropriate name for this forgettable composition might be PASSING FAD or, better yet, OMG WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I BEDDED DOWN WITH A GUY WITH 3 STDS?
if grape bubble gum grew on trees... and there was a grape bubble gumblossom, this is how i imagine it would smell. sugary and purple, and very linear. not that i don't like it, but it certainly wasn't at all what i was expecting.
I adore this sweet little concoction, and I've been wearing it for over 10 years. I rarely wear sugary fragrances, and when I first purchased this, I bought it because it seemed unusual! Falling In Love smells like burnt sugar and sweet berries, and I love it mostly because it's special to my kids. When my boys were little (they're now 17 and 12) they always asked me to wear this "for them". It's a cozy, happy, fresh, extremely pretty scent that I've worn recently for my 3 year old daughter. I can wear this anytime, anywhere, and thoroughly enjoy it. It's one of my bedtime favorites, for inducing peaceful dreams. I always buy the edp version, because it has more vanilla and berries. The edt develops a strange, watery melon note on my skin, and I don't like melon. The edp is all warmth and creme brulee.
It's very very sweet. It reminds me most of cotton candy. Initially loved it then found it too much but gone back to liking it.
I tried this as a bit of research for a colleague who LOVES it (she's 21)...but she can't find it in our country. (We're living in Asia.) On the good side, a LOT of people commented on how nice it smelled on me. Personally, I feel that it starts SO SWEET. (I'm 32...this is a scent for a teenager.) Cotton candy is the smell. However, it was light and faded fast. It had a nice, clean finish once the sweetness wore off.
i have the concentrate roll-on oil cologne i think that it last pretty pretty good on me even after i just worked out!! i know sounds seally.. ;) but i've kind of tested & it's... pretty smelling sweet still there xoxo
i'm honestly surprised i love this smell.. i agreed it smell like cotton candy! kind of loooooveey cotton candy smell :)
plaisantly surprised in a very sweet way lol!
i'm not familiar with pink sugar but i guees if it's similar i will stick with this one!
it's a funny day perfume
make me smile each time i smell my arm
good day :) every one
I must agree with folks who say that this scent is lovely, but doesn't last. I think the sweetness reminds me of cotton candy. I thought that spraying it on my clothes would help it last longer, but alas, it was gone in ~30minutes
Definitely smell sweet berries. I wish it was stronger so I could fall in love with myself by sniffing it all day, but like others said, it doesn't last.
I love Falling in Love :) It stays on for a fair amount of time, so that's good. Smelling this perfume just makes me happy!
soft little sweet really romantic parfum, not sickly
light and feminine
Very sweet, soft, and romantic. It's definitely for inimate nights as it's sillage is very light. I have been very impressed with Philosophy's perfumes and I have yet to be disappointed.
I wear this when I don't know what I feel like smelling like or when I am going to be in close quarters with people, where it would not be appropriate to wear a stronger perfume. That may not sound like a glowing endorsement BUT sometimes light and pretty is in order. It stays very close to the skin and smells of sweet berries and light airy musk; I don't get all that much sweet vanilla like I smell in Unconditional love. It doesn't last very long but it is worth owning for me. I really like it.
Soooooo sweet, like the jar of colorful hard candies your grandmother offers to all of her guests.
The nice thing about this scent is that it's not overpowering. It becomes quite subdued, and strangely, makes me think that if "falling in love" could smell like something, it would be this.
Very, very sweet. It's not bad, but it just smelled too synthetic to me. Fake blackberries, syrupy vanilla. I love blackberry and vanilla, but Falling in Love struck me as dull and cheap.
Very reminiscent of Trish McEvoy's No. 9 fragrance, though easier to find and easier on the wallet. Layering with the shower gel and body emulsion will be helpful to make the scent last, however; it's staying power isn't stellar on the skin. Though I do often reach for this one after a shower in the evening. The fragranced body emulsion in this one is spot on - and often lulls me into a delicious sleep.
A light, pretty fruity-floral. Fairly linear, not very long-lasting (get the oil, it's more concentrated and more worth the money.) Strongest notes are a gentle sweet, from the vanilla, with a tart blackberry. Reminds me a little of the Yves Rocher Blackberry, although that one is more "smoky" while this one is "soapy" from the white flowers. The musk gives it a nice depth so that it's not like candy.
Later update: After wearing this a couple of times, I am noticing that there is something about the musk in this perfume on me that has a weird edge to it - some other folks have called it "animalic," and that's the best I can come up with. I have not noticed it with other frags. Had to give up on this.
Good, but not unique.. blackberry very dominant in this..
I have to change my opinion about this fragrance. This afternoon I smelled this one in a shop and just loved it. First I found it to sweet, but after smelling it again I changed my mind. Philosophy just has very good fragrances in my opinion. I also love Amazing Grace and Pure Grace.
I bought this online from Macy's and I thought it smelled like Off mosquito repellant. It was so horrible I had to return it. I don't know if it was a defective bottle I received or if it just smells that way.
Even if the scent was ok, it doesn't last long at all.
This is a love it or hate it kind of fragrance. Personally, I love it! I cannot say enough positive things about how much I adore it. That having been said, my mom and my husband hate it. This is a killjoy for me; who wants to wear a fragrance, that the man in their life, hates? To me, it smells very sweet, so be aware of that, if you do not go for sweet scents. It is also a summer scent, and a young scent. To me, it really does smell like young love! A little bit berry, a little bit warm sugar, a small bit vanilla, but all done in a clean way. My husband, on the other hand, prefers spicy musky and mature scents. He says this smells like little girls and cotton candy, and only a pedophile would like it. O-K then! Guess I have to retire it. Wear it if you are young, or like young scents.
It smells sooooo good! This is a romantic fragrance. Light and sexy as the blackberry & vanilla scent gently envelopes your body. Men absolutely adore it. If you are looking for a strong staying power fragrance....this isn't it! You must layer the shower gel, lotion and fragrance for it to stay and then I still find myself spritzing throughout the day but oh, how I am addicted to the entire Philosophy line.
"you need this product if...
you like lacy lingerie but don't wear it- now you can!
you want to add a sensual evening scent to your fragrance collection
you want to feel and smell sensual
you are a hopeless romantic"
(From Philosophy.com)
I love this.
FALLING IN LOVE is very soft; so just you & that special someone can smell it & not the whole street.I also love the sleek, simple bottle design.
I wanted to like this..it smells just awful on me..maybe it's my body chemistry...on me it's just plain musty. Unconditional Love is much better on me.:-)
I love this. comforting, musky but not masculine.
Like a berry scented toothpaste... No. Double that. It also has no lasting power, along with all the other cologne's from this brand.
Really heavenly, comforting some how. I have the 59ml cologne spray and it fades very quickly so I wear it in bed.
Remember the discontinued Vanilla of L'Occitane? It's been reborn in Philosophy's Falling in Love! Yay!!!!
Cucumber (or some sort of cool melon) and blackberries. Very sweet, but tart. I wore this one for two summers in a row.
