The Playboy VIP smells like a mix of "le Male" and "Blue jeans" and they are simaler or blended well, I was confused when I first smelled it on a man. I can decipher scents I know but I was stumped. This scent is definitely masculine. Woody, musky but sweetened by chocolate and vanilla notes.
I would imagine a young man between the age of 15-20 wearing this scent while he is dressed in a stylish, high street label, smart casual outfit.

Sillage is pretty good for the first hour and then it sticks moderately close to the skin. Longevity is around 4-5 hours but on clothes it lasts for a day.

And yes, I see a striking resemblance with Parco Rabanne's 1 Million.

too bad, the silage and longevity is poor though... smells similar to axe dark temptation. a 'so-so' sweet frag, but it is ok if you're on a budget.

I bought it for $17 last night at Wal*mart. It smells lovely and sweet in the drydown. Very strong and a hint of rum in the top notes. Its soft, but potent. I love it.

For me it smells EXACTLY like Rochas Man, and I mean eeexxaaccttllyyy. I've never smelled two fragrances that are that similar.

Top:
I get a citrus powdery type of a smell. The citrus is obviously the bergamont and the powder is from the Tonka (Which on my skin ironically is present in the top not the base) The rhubarb is also present and blends quite nicely with the powdery citrus smell. The run is present but in the background for now. It's pleasant enough.

Mid:
In the mid the Rum really comes out and is paired with the apple accord, I do not get any "water notes". This is by far the best part of the fragrance along with the best part of ANY playboy fragrance. (Note that I am a fan of the other playboy fragrances as well) It is sweet, rich, and creamy, which is due to the rum. The best way that I can describe it is a Caramel Candy Apple. Its is beautifully blended and absolutely invigorating! The lavender is also there but very suddel... It is that kind of note that must be looked for.

Base:
Basic playboy drydown, if you have ever used any of the previous playboy scents than you know what I mean. It's not bad, just a very basic sandalwood and sweet musk. However this dry down does slightly separate itself from its predasecors by the white chocolate which makes it slightly sweeter, I also give playboy credit because this base smells a little bit less synthetic than it usually does.

**Personally I do not see any resemblance between this and one million, and very little similarities to Axe dark temptation, which is painfully synthetic.

It projects better than any of the other PB scents (3-6 feet do the first little while) then projects about a foot until it eventually comes closer to the skin. Longevity is hand in hand with projection, much better than you typical PB fragrance. 7-9 hours. This scent is appropriate for nearly any occasion in cooler weather, with the exception of anything too formal. For the price it is nothing short of a masterpiece and a great fragrance for teens. High recommendations from me!

Perfectly adequate sweet spicy scent for middle/highschoolers.

Initially a warm sweet spiciness like One Million. Quickly escalates to a more candy sweetness (from the white chocolate) with intense spiciness. Like someone said it's similar to an AXE scent.

Dries down to a powdery sweet scent. The sweetness is much more feminine but the spiciness brings it to the masculine side. I can see it being unisex. Can't see someone past 18 wearing this, sillage is low so it's not offensive.

Final word - White chocolate spiced rum, definitely aimed at the younger generation. Takes heavy cues from One Million's work but doesn't put it all together the way Paco Robane does. Better cheapies out there.

This is amazing, I love the smell! I got it for Christmas!!! I put some on last night at 8pm, and I got up this morning at 12 (noon) and I could still smell it. The smell is really light, refreshing, and relaxing, my favourite cologne!

Bad bad bad...Supermarket fragrance in the whole acception of those words. Nothing stylish, nothing charming, only vulgarity at the best price... and headache. You can find better fragrances at the same price on the net...

Smells good,like 1 million and AXE Dark Temptation,but this"perfume" not projects....sillage is weak and longevity..

Loving this perfume so much!In singapore its really2 hot so i often perspire.And sometimes when i sweat the smell of the perfume turns really nasty.BUT for this perfume it just give its nice and sweet fragrant even thou im sweating.Good choice to use during hot weather and the price is so affordable.

My boyfriend and I were just in K-mart, and they had the new testers out for Christmas. Since he really liked Playboy Vegas, he spritzed some of this on him.
WOW! I like this so much better than any of the other Playboy scents that he has.
It's a warm and spicy aroma that really stands out! I tried the women's version on me, and I didn't like it nearly as much. I'm thinking of giving it a try myself.

Edit - After trying the VIP on my skin, I conclude that this smells much better on my boyfriend than it does on me. :-( It smells too much like aftershave on me. But it still smells great on him!

a girls review: i wanted to try this on so bad as the notes sound so much more amazing then the ladies version. I was right, this is wonderful, i would say its totally unisex. On my its super sweet, to me this would like a Pink Sugar for men, love love love this. Might get myself a bottle

I must say, this is one of Playboy's good ones. It's a common fragrance, but well done in my opinion.
First off... it is a Tonka Bean Overload!! But not bad at all. Sweet and Strong Vanilla sweetness, almost candy bubblegum like.
Potent and it does last a decent length of time even in hot Florida weather.
This reminded me VERY much of Axe Dark Temptations, which is also a TonkaBean overload. VIP is more classy and less synthetic.
Also rings strongly of Antonio Banderas "Seduction in Black", but without the blackberry notes.
Yes, this also means it has the same TonkaBean head as Armani Code... It's also like a less sweet JPG "Le Male", but without the fizzy green.
for the price, i'd love a full bottle of this, over the other alternatives.

Today I´ve tried it in nearby drugstore. It´s really extremely similar to Axe Dark Temptation, which had my brother. If you like spicy chocolate, give a try, you may like it :-)

These notes sounds better than the womens, forget the womens I want to try this one.
