!Prada Amber Pour Homme is the first Prada fragrance, launched after the female one, also in oriental composition based upon amber. The perfumer Daniela Roche-Andrier created the composition in four basic accords : Amber – the main accord, rich and complex oriental base which includes amber, vanilla, labdanum, Tonka and patchouli; Fougere – or the aromatic accord with a remarkable soapy note, includes notes of pelargonium, vetiver, orange blossom and myrrh at the heart; Cologne – the refreshing citrusy top of bergamot, mandarin, neroli and cardamom; Leather – leather note is present at the base of the composition ( leather, saffron and sandalwood). Miuccia Prada, the granddaughter of the founder, who turned grandfather’s leather goods design into a large company, personally took part in creating of this perfume. “"I just tried to imagine what I would like if I were a man.” Maybe due to the fact that it was created by a female hand, the fragrance is not aggressive at all, like it might have been expected from an oriental fragrance with leather and amber. Instead, it is very elegant and masculine gentle.

very strong fragrance, but also light if that makes any sense. it smells like spraying on really good soap. i really like prada, but its only suited for very nice occasions in my opinion. not for a average day or date.

I think Prada Amber is one of the best male perfumes.. I love them on my boyfriend..
They are very classy with sensual sweetness... just love them!

I'm a little surprised at the astonishment about Prada Amber being soapy. That was Daniela Roche-Andrier's stated intent. All the critics that reviewed Amber upon its release said it was designed that way. So why should people be surprised when a fragrance designed to project soapiness, does what it promises?
Ahhhh but this isn't your supermarket shelf soap. This a beautiful, soft, and sensuous fragrance that one would expect to find in soaps from the finest salons of Barcelona or Madrid. I never get the citrus in the opening but I do get an Iris note, then a soft amber followed by a light suede.
Prada Amber is not going to announce itself in a crowd. It is not a sillage monster and it is not heavy. It is meant for intimacy and closeness. I thoroughly enjoy wearing it and have received numerous compliments from ladies who got close enough to enjoy its clean and lightly sweet elegance.
I've seen it described as feminine. How does one define a scent that belongs exclusively to women? I'm a big, strong guy who is far from effeminate. All I know is that I love the fragrance. Besides, if Prada projects a sensual sweetness that the ladies find desirable, guess what, I'm going to wear it not hang with the spice rack crowd and brag about about how manly we all smell. I was so impressed when I tried Prada Amber that I bought two bottles. For a guy that has as many colognes as I do, that is a strong endorsement.

So clean.Soapy,powdery,and flowery,but manly at the same time.Every time i were this scent,i get lots of compliments.If you want to get noticed,this is the cologne to use,even one spray last for about 11 hours(on MY skin)!A truly great cologne for men.

A good one, but feels like a second option for all occasions tome. Very soft with small projection and poor longevity in my opinion.

A true perfume for an important business meeting or an interview, nothing like a fresh, clean, soapy, smooth and appealing perfume. its more of a Winter day. The last thing to wear before leaving that puts an end to any susspession and begins your day with.

I had to test it twice before buy it, I wasn't sure becouse of the "foamy" opening, but the drydown it's great. Very refined scent. A must have.

I love love love this, it smells so expensive, old school but yet modern. i love the clean shaving foam soapy smell when it drys.

Amber seems to be on of the recurring notes in most of my fragrances. When this came out…I had to have it. I get a lot of complements from both men and women
