Prada Candy is a new fragrance by Prada to be launched in August 2011. The composition includes an elegant mix of musks in the top, a sensual balsamic vanillic accord of benzoin in the heart and sweet modern caramel in the base of the fragrance.

The nose behind this fragrance is Daniela Roche-Andrier.

This smells like all vanilla and caramel to me. Unfornately, my chemistry makes vanilla and caramel scents smell like BO so I'm going to be passing on this! It smells really good in the bottle though.

By the way, whoever the heck is saying this isn't "gourmand-y" or that they can't detect the gourmand notes....good Lord, you don't GET more gourmand than this (oriental vanilla...uh, hello??). Maybe people don't have a clear understanding of what a gourmand IS or how one is SUPPOSED to smell to be called a gourmand fragrance, but saying there's no gourmand factor to this perfume....that's ridiculous! And wrong. Like, really really wrong.

The grown up version of Pink Sugar...delish. Waiting (IMPATIENTLY) for my 2.7oz bottle in the mail. I tend to get a bit sick of Pink Sugar if I wear it everyday (I usually need to then switch to something OUTWARDLY musky and almost clean smelling, like Narciso Rodriguez EDT), but with Candy, I'm good to go for daily use because again, it's got a more grown-up vibe to it.

If you like Pink Sugar or other strong gourmand-type perfumes (Lolita Lempicka comes to mind or, although they smell NOTHING alike, Angel), you'll love this.

Wish it would just last a little longer, but that's why I have my mini bottle (0.24oz) to stash in my purse for touch-ups ;)

Not exactly original (Reminds me of Fragonard's Miranda which I also LOVE), Prada Candy is gourmand without being cloying. Yes, it won't be headache inducing even when worn during sweltering summer days.

Prada Candy is soft, smooth caramel heaven-- fine Panna cotta/ creme brulee goodness as opposed to sticky supersweet melted caramel. Luxurious, smooth and well-blended--no burnt or overpowering notes--a sophisticated, muted type of Candy smell.

Unfortunately nothing new. It´s not a bad taste, far from it, but just not new. You can smell this notes in Trussardi Inside, which I like a lot, and even in some of these cheap drugstore fragrances of Jeanne Arthes or UdV for example. The lasting power is also poor, it doesn´t stay long. At least a nice smell but that doesn´t excuses the price. Only half of the Prada Candy lovers would love this perfume if there would be written Jeanne Arthes on this bottle. I think only the name gives this perfume these highly references.

This is not "sweet" like you might think because I don't like the sweet, flowery fragrances. It reminds me of the smell of fresh candy, fudge, or caramel being made--very young and flirty. I agree with the reviewer who said if you like Pink Sugar (and I do!), you will love Candy. I would say if you like the fragrance of vanilla and strawberry, you would also like it. It is not overpowering or strong, either. Love it. It's my only fragrance right now although I have Pink Sugar, and Baby Phat "Love Me" by Kimora Lee Simmons, which reminds me of Pink Sugar and Candy.

Today is my first time I've sprayed on me. And even I'm not a fan of sweet perfumes, this one I just loved! I still smell it on my skin and this scent is just very plesant to me. Not annoying as many to sveet perfumes are to my nose. This is more than plesant. It's on my wish list for sure! :-)

ADDICTIVE! i don't even like sweet fragrances, but there's something enigmatic about the combination of musk and caramel. it retains that distinctive Prada smell that i can detect in all their fragrances. you can be certain this isn't the average drugstore saccharine-sweet scent. this is clearly high-end. the bottle is such a surprising departure from other Prada bottles - completely fits the fragrance.

lovely, warm scent; reminds me of Prada Ambree. i'm sure it can be worn anytime, but this is just the sort of fragrance that's perfect for winter. i bet this would pair well with a sharp clean scent like Light Blue...

To me it's like a jar of caramel candies that you're trying so hard to get, but still unable to grab every piece of them. The smell of caramel jumps right into your face after the spray, but 10 seconds later, the musk and benzoin start to build a glass wall between you and the caramel base: you still see it there, it's just muted so you're not allowed to swallow every bit of it at the same time. You keep sniffing and sniffing, trying to trace down the sweetness of caramel. But before you even notice it by yourself, you already become addicted to this perfume as a whole.

Caramel, vanilla, milk, and honey, is all I smell. Like those small little golden candies (what are they called???) so light and everyone loves it because everyone loves candy! My cousins always maul me when I wear this because they think I have some candy! This is so expensive, but worth it, especially the other body care items, a special occasion or holiday scent for me.

Gosh I really love this perfume like no other. This is the only perfume I've ever had the urge to spray on myself before bed. Recently, my husband bought the Mother's day gift set for me because the bottle I have now is almost gone (sadly).

The sad part about this perfume (for me that is) is that it does not last long at all and not one person has ever made a statement (positive or negative) in regards to the delightful smell. I have sprayed over six sprays early morning then by mid morning it is gone. After the Mother's day gift set I will have to move on and find a new signature scent.

On my skin the caramel shows up. Quite lovely. After that the benzoin takes over. A nice sweet scent. Not cloying, classy for a gourmand...I think it should be a gourmand more than oriental vanilla. The only bad thing is it doesn't last (at least not on me). It's simple for the skyscraper price. I love Prada though. The bottle is gorgeous. Maybe as a gift.

I have a tiny sample vial of this & I don't particularly like it. It smells like a bag of hard Christmas candy IMHO. Not for me, maybe appeals to the younger generations but not this "hip ole fart". This grandmother, former hippie in my young days, just finds very common candy smell, nothing outstanding that is memorable...

I won't be buying this one...

An obviously sweet perfume, but it looses the heaps of burnt sugar in 30' and then it's an acceptably sweet, gourmand fragrance. On me it disappears after 3-4 hours and stays close to skin all the time, so it's easy to wear anytime. It's ok I guess, but I also find it kind of boring.

I tested yesterday and I liked it, I only wish it was stronger.
It could be the summer version of L Lolita Lempicka without the cinnammon!
It gave me a sweet but also a fresh/musky feeling at the same time.
I think the powerful note in this composition is the musk not the caramel.

Anyone who's a fan of Pink Sugar by Aquolina will love this. I can't wear it everyday or it loses it's appeal to me (just as Pink Sugar), but I do wear it at least once or twice a week (I'm a perfume hussy - I rarely stick with just ONE signature scent ha). It does have that strong candy smell - very sweet and pretty - but the dry down is quite musky and more mature.

I'm a massive fan of sweet gourmands, so this scent really appeals to me :)

A majority of women may disagree with me on this point, but I find Prada Candy boring.

Despite the fact that I dislike loud and sugary gourmands, I'm kind of wishing that Prada Candy was one of those fragrances, because this subtle whisper of caramel and musk leaves me feeling uninspired and disappointed.

Prior to smelling this perfume, my fellow fragrant friends kept encouraging me to smell Prada Candy and give them my honest opinion. Well, here goes: while I certainly don't find it repulsive, it is generic and plain. Prada while attempting to appeal to the younger market with its sweet accords, has made this fragrance subtle as a means of remaining classic and stylish. The two don't go hand in hand.

I refrain from labelling Prada Candy as a gourmand, because while it's sweet and gooey, it doesn't smell like something I would want to eat. The caramel note actually has a slightly burnt edge, which many have noted as being off-putting.

A hint of spiciness tries to steer Prada Candy towards oriental land, but fails. Candy-land is where this fragrance remains from beginning to end. I unfortunately find this fragrance headache inducing if I smell it for too long. I am only grateful that this fragrance doesn't have a cotton candy smell.

I agree with Eilismaireg, Prada Candy is indeed one of those fragrances that have been "done to death". Nothing original and exciting to be found here I'm afraid. Despite being amongst the targeted age range for this fragrance, I'll be happily passing up Prada Candy in hopes that there are people that appreciate it far more than I do.

Caramel extract? Can somebody please explain how can this be natural? Ha ha ha! Never mind! It was just a rhetoric question. Now to the perfume...
Caramel + musk + benzoin, it sounds as if it were a sugar bomb but it isn't. And there's something else that it isn't: the rebel youthful crazy lady perfume image that we are sold. It actually is a lovely sweet oriental gourmand, not overly sweet because of something (maybe the musk) that pinches the nose so that you don't get to believe that your wrist is a cotton candy. As it sets into the skin it resembles a little to L'eau ambree. I love it for any occasion; the only bad point is that it makes me want to eat...a lot.

Ok, this is my second review of this and I want to know if anyone else has had this problem. Is is just me, or is there a difference in the smell between the actual perfume and the body lotion? I've sampled the perfume on me, and I love it! However, the body lotion doesn't smell like the perfume, IMO. It seems to have this weird odor, nothing like the perfume. Anyone else have this issue or is there something wrong with my nose? You can PM me if you like as I'm on here quite regularly. :)

I've sprayed it on my hand today in the shop and almost died - it felt like 10 insect repellent cans exploded next to me! Wow what a fragrance! I ran around the shop trying to find something to wipe my hand with. After a while it settled into generic sweet fragrance - nothing special.

The initial smell after spraying I don't care for, smells really spicy, and like a lot of people have said below, some sort of a burnt smell. However once it settles down, the perfume is gorgeous! Smooth creamy delicious caramel, really comforting and sweet, just lovely! The only problem is it just seemed to melt into my skin and wear off. A truly lovely scent- just not strong enough for me.

Definitely a sophisticated sweet gourmand for adults who are still young at heart. Nothing super sweet with extra calories here. Prada Candy is a delicate animalic caramel with a big volume of benzoin. I am a guy, and I love wearing this very much. Too bad I have to use it sparingly because of it's still quite pricey and I'd hate to run out of it.

LOVE this fragrance! This fragrance is a 'grown-up gourmand', sweet without being cavity-inducing and cloying. I don't understand how it could be compared to Pink Sugar. To me, Pink Sugar is more like a cupcake factory-gone-haywire while Candy is more like Ladurée in Paris. The benzoin keeps it from turning into a typical foody-type oriental, and gives it more depth and earthiness. The lasting power is impressive... I don't know how people did not have it otherwise. It's a fragrance that's warmer and supposed to sit close to the skin. I could still catch whiffs of it on me at the end of the day. The packaging somewhat gripes me, however. The top looks like it insists on being pulled off! Nonetheless, it looks luxurious sitting on my table.

Well, that's a simple scent: caramel followed by benzoin, followed by musk. A cozy skin scent but doesn't excite me in any way. I have to stick my nose to my wrist to smell a hint of sweet musk after an hour. It's not worth having the (beautiful) bottle for me...

Salty sweet caramel- but not too sticky or realistic to be a nice perfume, close to the skin. A bit powdery. It's nice but a bit too simple to warrant the price

This had a generic sweet smell upon application and then the musk came through very strongly, and it began to smell like a vanilla scented car air freshener. Safe to say I wasn't impressed. However after about 45 minutes when I had stopped caring about it, I got a whiff of something slightly sweet warm and resinous and my nose was intrigued. Was that benzoin? And indeed it was. The appearance of the benzoin saved this one for me, giving it greater depth beyond the little girl drug store scent cheapness it began with. However, while the benzoin made this smell a million times better and it was indeed very yummy without being sickly, it still wasn't very special. There are many more gourmand style fragrances and certainly more oriental vanillas that are superior to this one. Further, staying power is very poor. Just not worth a purchase at all for me.

I was expecting this perfume to be overly sweet and cloying with huge sillage, but it's not. It's just very warm and stays close to the skin radiating heat from it. And surprisingly it blends into the skin quite nicely- the benzoin is what keeps the caramel down to earth I think. It's enjoyable, but I don't think it's unique enough for me to run out and buy a bottle but I'll happily use up my generous sample when I want to feel fuzzy warm and comforted

Oh, how I love everything here...the name, the bottle, and Prada....but what a disappointment. Not that it is bad, it's not a t all.
I consider this the frag equal to the Prada black nylon bag. Nothing special. Not bad, anyone can wear it. Anyone can copy it. It's a true basic black for gourmand newbies. The warmth of the benzoin and non-cloying, open-hearted sweetness of this won me over. It has a dry, simple positivity that feels unpretentious yet mature. I can imagine this being my self-indulgent pick-me-up for blah moods that doesn't resort to the immaturity of flat florals or fruit scents.

I was so eager to try this one! I was finally able to find it last weekend and spritzed it with gusto (well, 1 spray to my wrist ;0)). I was extreamly disappointed right away, it was nowhere near as sweet as I had expected, it was actually a very flat caramel-ish scent. I detected very little vanilla or much of anything else, it was actually a bit on the "dusty" side, I'm sure it was my chemistry but I just couldn't handle Candy. I love sweet scents, Fantasy, Pink Sugar and believe it or not Snooki are among my favorites but Candy was just too uncandyish for my taste.

I'm really on the fence about this one. I think I like it, but I'm not quite sure!

When sprayed on to my wrist it smells like a clean combo of musk and a light caramel. So far so good. After about two hours it has dried down to one single note; caramel. But the caramel scent I smell then smells kind of like butterscotch candy left in the window on a hot summer day. Kind of sour. I can't bring myself to dislike it though.

Although this fragrance seems soft and without much sillage, I could smell it on my clothes and skin the day after I sprayed it on. It has tremendous lasting power, probably due to the richness of the caramela and complex musk notes. Such a wonderful skin scent, and unlike any gourmand out there, due to its simplicity and depth.

I love most perfumes with a strong benzoin note, and vanille gourmands as well. This is heaven for me. I do get the similarities with l'eau Ambree (they seem to share the same base) and Infusion d'Iris though the latter is much to powdery to suit my nose.

Candy is one I wear to bed dabbed in the crook of my arm at least 4 nights a week. The smell is so comforting and relaxing. I find it does smell very different dabbed than sprayed. It brings out the richness of the scent, and creates only enough sillage to smell oneself occasionally. Sprayed, it can become to sharp for my nose. It's as if the wrong notes come to the forefront, and the lovely base becomes too light.

For those that think this disappears, I guarantee others can smell you! My MIL wears this, and after one spray In the morning, I can smell her later in the day... she smells fantastic! Also, I can smell this on my laundry for at least two days after I wear it.

This will surely be one of my all time favorites long after it's popularity dies down. Send all your unwanted bottles my way, I'm hoarding this. lol

I agree with the previous reviewer, I get more than 3 notes from this. The floral note is most apparent on cloth or paper, on my skin, it's very faint-- mostly a warmed (musky) vanilla/butterscotch/ caramel gourmand fragrance. Yes, it is another new candy perfume. But it's a deep, rich smoky candy! I say, YUM.

I'd like t add that it's not a strong fragrance. I very timidly did two spritzes from the tester bottle and it was not enough. It's a soft one!

I believe this one is more than just three notes.it gets a little flowery on my skin, sth like jasmin or B-rose i am not sure.but the dominant note is definitly benzoin which i realy like and caramel which i dont mind at all.i smell a little bit vanille but not enough to call this O.Vanille, this frag is more of a floral gourmand than any thing else.any way i realy like Candy and wish they didnt go for teen marketing for a scent that is mature enough for grown up ladies, thats why the bottle dosnt siute its scent.

I just love Candy and my husband loves it on me too. I always wear this one when I'm looking to get frisky! It's such a warm sweet scent without being a total sugar bomb. The interesting thing is, on my skin the notes open backwards. As Candy opens up I get luscious caramel, then the benzoin takes over and radiates for hours. Finally the musk shows up and leaves a lovely trail that lasts for the rest of the day, or sometimes - in the case of evening application - until the morning.;)

Well, if you like gourmand fragrances, you would definitely appreciate Candy, but in my opinion it's not worth spending something like 80 euros for it, basically for two reasons:
Firstly, this is another average gourmand frag like tons of others you can find on the market, nothing less, nothing more.
Secondly, lasting power (at least on my skin) is really bad, and this fact makes me quite angry if you consider that this perfume is very expensive.
Overall, I can't say that Candy is a bad fragrance, but I would recommend buying it only if you really really like it and you don't have a gourmand frag for wintertime in your perfume wardrobe, or if you manage to find it for a very good price.

While it isn't complex or original, it doesn't last very long and really has nothing to distinguish itself from others like it, it does smell good. This is a beautifully soft warm carmel scent. I would never buy a bottle of it, as there is nothing that stands out to me at all. But sometimes when I am stressed out in front of the computer working on yet another nursing school write up I find myself spritzing myself with a sample I picked up. It always cheers me up a bit.

Like I said, it does smell good. Just not amazing. Also, the name just gets to me. While I may sometimes want to smell like candy, I never actually want to admit that I sprayed myself with something called candy!!

I ordered this perfume, more out of curiosity, love sweet perfumes; about smell: excellent!! sweet caramelized, but .... This wonderful scent lasts a few seconds: ((( and finally top notes, middle and base notes are lost in 30 minutes. Loss of money. Too bad, it's an expensive perfume. Trusarrdi Inside is more expressive , and has a lower price . LOL :))

After months of sniffing this stuff in the shops and deliberating whether to buy (the price tag was what had been holding me back for so long) i finally bought a 50ml bottle of this stuff after having a glass of wine with lunch. The next day i regretted it soooooo much. why you ask? well the smell is really lovely and the bottle gorgous.. the the lasting power???? PATHETIC. absolutely rubbish. have literally doused myself in this stuff a few times and within half an hour its practically undetectable. Waste of £53!! may as well be toilet water so disappointed and am going to put it up for sale on ebay now. dont bother buying this perfume its pure robbery for the price which is such a shame as it does smell nice for the few minutes its on your skin! :0(

I LOVE this stuff, its just the most amazing scent ever. 1 of my 2 fav scents so far this year. It does smell ALOT like Anna Sui's Sui Dreams that I used to wear and I remember going through about 3 bottles of that stuff and its discontinued so I am glad to have this as a kinda of replacement.

I had to revise my review of Candy after wearing it several times.. While initially the opening was off putting I now realize I don't even notice it. It smells the same from beginning to end for me now. Yay! Sweet, but not overly so, soft caramel.
Gentle sillage and great lasting power. You can easily reapply while running errands without knocking someone out if the sillage becomes to soft for you.

I agree it's similar in style to Trussardi Inside. However it's something in the base notes that reminds me of it, they are still distinctly different. Inside has much louder sillage, is sweeter, and of course doesn't smell like caramel. Still they have an underlying common ground. I find that Candy is the perfect counter part for when Inside is a little too loud and sweet for my mood, or I'm just craving caramel.

I would highly recommend wearing it for a bit before deciding it's not for you. I almost passed this one up, now I'm very glad I didn't.

I ordered the 2.5oz body milk because I wasn't sure if I would like it and I'm not sure, at the moment, if I do. The opening is rather harsh and stays that way for a while. It mellows out quite softly, but the caramel smell isn't very sweet; I'm thinking I smell more benzoin than anything. To me, this doesn't smell very gourmand at all; I have some scents in my collection that are way more gourmand than this. So far, I tested just a small patch of skin for fear that it may induce a headache. I do agree that it is warm and different from most of Prada's other creations, but I'm just not sure if I really like it so I will update at a later time.

First notes I get from Prada Candy is somewhat an artificial sweet smell, like plastic from a new doll. The plastic candy scent disappears quickly and a more genuine aroma of caramel emerges. The scents are sweet caramel and benzoin with a base of musk and a touch of vanilla. The scent is feminine sweet and passionate, without being heavy or suffocating. It is a soft sophisticated gourmand, a real winner and one of my absolute favorites! The aroma has a good shelf life of about 6-8 hours.

Edit. Prada Candy may not please everyone, so I recommend to try before you buy...

When this first came out, I did not care for it, mostly because of the powdery musk note which was unexpected with a name like Candy.
After a few tries though, I ended up purchasing the 30ml.
And I'm so glad I did! It is so perfect for cold weather, the powdery caramel scent is just so cozy and comforting!
I wear this a lot when I don't want to wear a heavy perfume, for my casual and laid-back days...it's nice to have a winter scent which is light enough to apply generously and not worry about people choking...
Although soft, this lasts a good few hours.

BOUGHT IT TODAY...
When I first saw the bottle, last year (2011),I was like : "Oh my God! This must smell gorgeous!" But the bottle it's too...fancy and unique for the soft smell of the fragrance! It reminds me of Bvlgari's "Petits et mamans",like wet baby wipes...After 5 min it reminds me of Kenzo's "Amour",like that creamy-lotion kind of smell, but much more softer! The drydown is a pleasant mix of "baby creamy caramel wipes"...Anyway,I thought it would be something like "Pink Sugar" but it's not!
It's very soft and wearable in all seasons.

P.S. The main fact is that it should have been a sexy note in this to go well with the gorgeous bottle!!!

AFTER 30 MIN: I found the sexy-subtle note in "Candy" ! IT'S AMAZINGLY SUBTLE AND SOFT BUT MAKES YOU WANNA CHASE IT,KISS IT,EAT IT!!! WOW!

I GOT A GREAT PERFUME! I GOT A GREAT PERFUME! TRALALALALAAAAAA....LA!!!

I was so excited to try this perfume from all the great reviews. I sprayed on the paper card and loved the smell so I tried it on my wrist and again love. It was sweet but not too sweet and mature without being "old lady", the perfect scent for someone my age (early 30's) I was in love. I walked around for the next two hours finishing my shopping pretty sure that I would stop back by Nordstrom to splurge on this fragrance. However, at the end of the two hours the scent was gone, I couldn't smell the slightest whiff of it. Disappointed... I just could not justify spending so much on something I would have to reapply every couple of hours.

I tested it quickly yesterday and it is disappoiting : it should not call itself "Candy" because it has nothing to do with candy.
It has indeed no sugary notes and I can't barely detect vanilla.
It is not sweet : had I to categorize its nearly invisible smell, would I say that it is soft but very light, in a very absent way, and might be a comforting and really inoffensive comforting scent for people who like very light and unnoticed scents.

It even fails to be creamy, as it fails to be velvelty or simply powdery : this one is definitely not an Oriental.

It seems like they put a decent amount of musk, a very tiny amount of benzoin and a not-to-be-detected poor drop of caramel note in a bottle and then watered down the whole thing, like 10% of fragrance and 90% of water.

I don't smell benzoin, nor do I smell caramel in this one, and that is pretty disappointing for the very sweet tooth that I am.
To be sincere, I barely can't detect any notes in this one because of its lightness.

"Candy" leaves me with an "absence" feeling : it is a "barely present" fragrance that is totally in another world, not quite with what you would wait it to smell like.

However that may be, I disagree with the reviews stipulating that "Candy" is similar to "Inside" : I know "Inside" very well and they are not similar.
"Inside" has a distinct personnality, which sets it apart from the "fainted smell" of "Candy". Moreover, "Inside" has a better construction and, amongst others, a distinct floral heliotrope note as well a noticeable soft but not spicy coffee note, which is not the case of "Candy".

Caramel and benzoin overdose! I love this little number! Candy definitely fits the name of the perfume. They say candy is for children, but this candy is oh so grown up. My latest addition to the out of control collection.

I didn't like it in august, when it first came out. I smelled nothing, absolutely nothing (on the paperstrip and on my wrist). So ofcourse I didn't buy it! So much money for something I wouldn't smell.

Now I tried it again, on my skin and I love it now.
I've sprayed it 7hours ago, 4 times. I still smell it, I really do. I didn't expect it, but I do smell it.

Pure benzoin, sugar and caramel.
Nothing more, nothing less. But I'm really into caramel gourmand at the moment. I love it.

I really love Prada Candy! On my skin it smells like everything I hoped for in a caramel scent.

It`s sweet but not sickly or sugary. It`s not a "teen scent", it`s more sophisticated and grown up. The caramel is there the whole time, companied with some powder (although I don`t think it`s a powdery scent) and gentle musk which keeps the fragrance together and smooth.
It`s not the most original scent but it simply smells so good! I love the bottle too, the colors or great.

The more I wear Candy, the more I love it! Every once in a while I have scent cravings for something sweet, and powdery, and buttery. Certain fragrances "take" to my chemistry and warm into something wonderful. I still adore the original Prada after all these years, and it's still a perfume that people continually admire when I wear it. That's how it is with Prada Candy. If I smell it on a test strip, or from the bottle, it doesn't do much, but when it's on my skin, it makes me feel wonderful. It's just what I need for my own enjoyment. Prada Candy is "perfume" - it's a concoction brewed to have an effect on perception for both the wearer and the audience. The fragrance it calls to mind the strongest for me is E.Coudray Ambre et Vanille. The Prada Candy bottle is delightful as well, and it looks classy and pretty. I want to disclose that I love and adore benzoin the way many others love dessert vanilla, or musks, or coconut, etc. Prada Candy isn't deodorant, or laundry soap, or "you smell shower-fresh like shampoo oh-joy". It's womanly, stylish, fun, and lovely. I am so glad that there has been a resurgence of fragrances developed for those of us who love perfume with every fiber of our beings.

The saleswoman of a perfume shop gave me a sample last week.

The very earliest notes are quite interesting, a nice mix of sweet and savory that I never felt in a perfume: I was pleasantly surprised, and I was hoping for an equally enjoyable extention.
Unfortunately, the rest is a great disappointment: a flat smell of rancid butter. And plastic, too (it smells like the material which BarbieDolls are made of, and this is awful for a perfume)...
Someone said it's a pale copy of Hypnotic Poison, but I would never compare these two fragrances: Hypnotic Poison is great, Candy is rubbish if compared to it.
Thankfully the lasting power is very weak!

Sorry, Candy has been rejected.

This is a warm, sickly-sweet scent which smells of caremelized sugar. I like it upon first spray, but upon the dry-down it just becomes too syrupy for me. I don't entirely dislike it, it has its good qualities & I'm sure it has the ability to smell lovely on someone with a different chemistry. Longevity is so-so, average, in my opinion. Sillage is also average & I'd encourage 4 sprays if you really want people to smell you.

PS. The girl in the advertisement really suits this scent. They hit the nail on the head with that one.

It's funny how personal perfume taste is. I think I love the top note of this perfume, very sweet, very me, the sort of thing I just love. And then the cringing point is the rest of the perfume. I smell absolutely like my grandma who wears opium and other lovely perfumes that other ladies enjoy, but not me. I hate how it smells on me. I tried it on the perfume paper, asked the sales lady to spray it on my wrist because of how sweet it was. Then before I know it, it smells like my grandma's old perfume, which I hate. I think a lot of people would like this perfume, just I personally hates it, but to those who love this perfume, it's a very long lasting perfume. I tried washing my wrist from all trace of the smell, using fresh 'lychee sugar' soap, it didn't work. I wash it and wash it and showered, still I smell like prada candy for a day and half, much to my dismay. Enjoy it ladies if you like this perfume, lol.

I must concur with the review by angel6. On my skin and to my nose, Prada Candy presents an unchallenging yet quite beautiful scent. Within a moment of application, I find myself surprised and amused. Surprised because I was expecting something rich and warm, dripping with sweet, buttery caramel. Amused because, not only is Candy familiar, it's formula rests on that of Prada's Infusion d'Iris. Granted, Candy has it's own separate entity, but the nuances are so subtle and subdued. This is not the decadent, candy-esque perfume that I expected. The caramel is not buttery, rich or super sweet. Instead, I detect more of a gentle whisper of the suggestion of caramel. That, along with a barely there trace of sheer, powdery white musk, is sprinkled into what smells identical to Infusion d'Iris.

From start to finish, Prada Candy smells so much like Infusion d'Iris that I challenge anyone to deny their uncanny resemblance. Still, I would be delighted to own a bottle. One could ask, "Casi, if Candy smells so much like Infusion d'Iris, why would you covet a bottle of the former?" That is a great question. For one, and despite my love for it, I don't own a bottle of Infusion d'Iris. I love Infusion. I find it elegant, wearable, long-lasting and inoffensive. But now that I have experienced Candy, I would prefer it. While slightly vague, I appreciate the warmth, texture and subtle sweetness contributed by those notes of musk, benzoin and caramel. I have always found Infusion to have a distinct "salty" quality. Infusion d'Iris is a favorite, but it's beautiful simplicity could grow boring. I could enjoy all that I adore about Infusion, with the added fun of the barely-there musky sweetness of Candy. Hmm...much like a delicious chocolate-covered pretzel. Prada Candy is salty sweet and without a doubt, of very high quality. I quite like this!

This scent is a huge disappointment to me. Weak , smells of faint sugary water .

I was stopped and asked what scent i was wearing by a man the other day , it was "Hard Candy" which is not well known in the UK. The man misheard me and said "Prada Candy"? I told him that after testing i wouldn't waste my money on that .

From a name like Prada this stuff is a poor effort , and WAY overpriced. Its sad that the 16 - 25 yr old crowd that i saw going wild for this in the stores this Xmas , will think this is a good "perfume" .

Weak toilet water-like lasting power ..If you want a GOOD sweet candy /caramel scent save your money and get Hard Candy :)

I did not have high expectations for Candy as based on the advertising and notes I have assumed that this will be another sweet and boring scent. When overly enthusiastic salesclerk sprayed it on a test paper and urged me to try it, I did not find it very attractive. The sweetness was sugary and the scent appeared flat. But I did take a sample home and tried it on my skin. I have to say that this scent transformed into a lovely caramel gourmand scent on my skin which I liked a lot. This was definitely an expected and pleasant surprise.

I will not call this scent very sophisticated or complex but the caramel note is done quite nice here. In the beginning it almost smells like a burnt caramel, a bit powdery and dusty. I know it does not sound very attractive but I actually find it quite interesting and almost addictive. There is also a hint of musk layered with the burnt caramel notes. The caramel notes are prominent from the beginning till the end but towards the dry down the benzoin notes take the lead. I find that benzoin gives it powdery and slightly woody accent and blends wonderfully with the caramel. I can see that many reviewers below mentioned that the two of them clash but this is not how this scent unveils on my skin. The dry down is quite lovely, powdery caramel which is not overly sweet and kind of amber-y. The scent stays close to the skin but it actually lasted for at least 8 hours.

Overall score is 7/10. I find that this one is a bit pricey for the straight caramel gourmand scent but I do not mind getting a bottle if I can find a good deal. My advice is to let this scent develop on your skin before deciding if this scent works for you or not. You might be surprised. The paper test was totally misleading in my case.

This perfume is not good at all. I keep on reading everywhere that it has nothing to do with the rest of the Prada perfumes and that it is so shockingly new and bla bla bla. I clearly smell the powdery-violet from Infusion D'iris. Add a base of caramel-vanilla (and not a good one) et voilá: Prada Candy. Seems like Miuccia is saving on the perfume formula and spending on the marketing campaign. I wouldn´t waste my time with this.

So there I was: arms extended at length, holding the little paper card as far as possible to spray some Prada Candy on it. I sprayed once, and brought it slowly to my nose.....

Nothing.

I sprayed the paper again and sniffed.

Nothing.

Am I crazy? Where is the sugar? The caramel? Finally, I sprayed it on my wrist.

There it is! I am very surprised by this one. I was expecting a huge sugar bomb, and what I got was far from it. It was the lightest, sweet scent, that was almost..dare I say.. fresh??

I like this one I really do. But it didn't last too long, and it was not too original. Verdict? I wouldn't turn it down as a gift, but the perfume was not impressive enough for me to shell out the money.

Initially I thought "Here is a sugar perfume I could like" but within a few minutes it changed to something very ordinary, even smelling a bit like just the plain "Prada" which I like (in moderation). In its favour it does not smell cheap, like Aquolina Pink Sugar does. The vanilla kicks in quite soon, and I think it is really that note which turns me off this one.

I have to say the Prada's are hit and miss with me - I adore Infusion d'Iris, and I like Ambree but the others, including this one - meh.

When I first heard about Prada Candy I was completely turned off by the name. It sounds like a Paris Hilton or Britney Spears scent, and my spontaneous thought was simply "dang, a sellout.. I feel sorry for you Prada".

For some reason I got my ass over to the perfume shelves in the store and tried that Hilton sellout on, and oh heavens! It didn't take long before I changed my mind completely. Prada Candy is one of those scents that I've been longing for without knowing that they existed. A mellow, grown up gourmand with dignity. And the fact that you recognize Infusion d'Iris in it makes it even better. I like Id'I, but there's something with it I can't stand on my skin. Candy picked the golden parts of Id'I up and chucked it into a warm irresistible gourmand blend. Could it get any better?

I understand why many people dislike it though, the simplicity of this scent makes it a hit or miss. Either you like it or you don't. Also my skin tend to pick gourmand notes up very easily and never let go of them, so on me it smells delicious for hours and hours, even though it's quite close to the skin. The sheerness of it might be a problem if it doesn't fit like a puzzle piece with your skin.

My boyfriend has asked me about five times since the day before yesterday what I'm wearing, because I smell unusually good. He almost never tells me that, unless it's Thierry Mugler Angel EdT or Prada Candy. Straight to the top Prada, good work. I'm hooked.

I'd like to preface this by saying that we all have different likes and dislikes, different tastes and styles and I respect everyone's opinion - especially with something as subjective as fragrance. Ok. Now that that's been said-

This is probably the most disgusting perfume I have smelled in a very long time. I love sweet scents, I'm Queen Gourmand but this just turns my stomach. Caramel and Benzoin just do not go together. It's like when someone wears two different shades of red in an outfit and think it still matches. Goo!

It smells like a burning plastic with some caramel. The name Candy is charming but I've never had a candy that smelled like this before.

Pros to this perfume is that it lasts and lasts - I can't even scrub this off my skin and I'm assuming the scent will linger on my jacket until I get it dry cleaned.

Sorry Prada - I'll keep buying your wallets and bags but I'm staying away from your perfume lines.

I love this.
Pink sugar all grown up and without the hideous burnt smell.
This is a young perfume but in a warm elegant way.
It smells expensive.

Not too sweet but sweet enough, we are definitely not talking the sweetshop syrupy Escada or Birtney scent.
It's the perfect mix of sexy, sophisticated and girly.
Men love it and I find it a very uplifting scent to wear.

The bottle is also quite gorgeous!
On the down side I can't seem to figure out how to use this with a Travelo as the pump bit is hidden even with the cap off.

vanilla, caramel and musk. gourmand sweet and warm scent. it has that 'brand new' smell to it too. versatile use >> it can be worn for special occasions and nights out as well. marketed for young generation but it can be worn by anyone, since it has a touch of elegance and seriousness. Also, smells expensive too, just like the price. The name doesn't complete the scent; yes it's sweet like vanilla-caramel sweet. I'll think of "candy" name as a metaphor for sweet.
This one has a moderate strength and longevity, 4-5 hours.

As with all Prada perfumes, this one smells musky on me, but in a pleasant way. I don't find it candy-like as other people describe. It is the sweetest of the other Pradas, but the musk and vanilla notes mask the caramel on me. I do see the resemblance to L´Eau Ambrée, but this one is less intense and wearable. Overall, it's a very nice sophisticated fragrance that I hope to have in my collection!

I smelled it today. I find it very sweet, young, girly, playful but at the same time you can easily recognize the quality of a prada perfume deep in your nose. It's like iris and lau ambre but sweeter. Like all good sweet perfumes, it stays on your skin without being heavy or strange. just let it corporate in you.
I have a question. I don't believe that there are only three ingredients. Of course caramel predominates but without bothering you.
It would be my next beloved perfume. I keep smelling it all day long and it definitely passed the test.

I`m actually positively surprised by Candy. I tought it would be more complicated and not "candy-like". Well this IS a caramel-scent! But done in adult way. Sweet, but not sugary. I like this!

Nothing to get excited about. I love gourmands and with name like Candy, I was expecting it to smell sweet and perhaps like cotton candy. Yes, there is cotton candy note but its very faint. As another reviewer noted, benzoin gives it a rather odd, almost medicinal note which I really don't care for. Here what it remainds me off-take Pink Sugar, dilute the hell out of it, add benzoin, add Vanilla Fantasy body spray from Parfums de Couer and you will have Candy.
What I also didn't like is how faint this perfume is-I sprayed a couple of sprayes on my hand and could barely smell it.
Prada hasn't impressed me with any of their fragrances and Candy is no different. Despite all the hype, its not really very interesting. Yes, I liked it better than Prada's other offerings but that's not saying much.
UPDATE-I wore my sample several times and while I think its nice enough scent, it didn't blow me away. And lasting power is terrible. I sprayed it three times and could barely smell it 10 minutes later. For something this pricy, Prada, you got to do better than this!

I was really looking forward to this perfume and the bottle is simply amazing, enchanting, one of the most beautiful bottles ever created, I really wanted to buy Candy for the bottle. Then when I first smelled the juice I was disappointed. I am a fan of gourmands, well, complicated gourmands that is but Candy smelled too faint and not candy-like enough for the first sniff. Somehow, when I smelled it the second time things fell into place. You know how certain things can grow on you? Candy is not a scent that will be instant love or hate since it is too understated for that. It is warm and cozy and very likeable but one of the skin scents in trend today. It is not loud at all but then ask yourself if Prada scents are loud, I find them sophisticated and understated for the most part but very likeable and high quality and that is exactly the way Candy is (yes the base is still there), however, with a twist, made to be a bit more passionate, more young and sweeter for sure and that makes it stand out from the crowd. In comparison to other gourmands it is more sophisticated and complicated than most due to its many facets and balmy tones, the woods, balsam and musks add that very important facet that tones down the sweetness, otherwise it would be kitsch and sickening, even cheap like Pink Sugar but it is not. Also, do we want sugar to scream on us? I do not think so. It is sweet enough to smell very yummy but toned down and complicated enough to become a part of you, your skin and your personality. It takes a refined taste to like it but the genius is definitely manifested in this work. Yes, it is a gourmand and yes, it is a Prada but it is also different. I am definitely buying. Perfect for the season when it is really cold and I want to smell that wonderful caramel-vanilla skin scent on me.

I have never been 1 for "sweet"scents, THEN I saw that this was by Prada! I sprayed, I walked away, I think people thought there was something wrong with me! My nose became permanently attached to my wrist! My GORGEOUS yummy smelling wrist! So - learning the hard way of buying HUGE bottles, then disliking it as soon as I bought it (First by Van Cleef) - I decided to try several times! I woke up the next day & my wrist STILL smelt OH so sexy! So I ordered a bunch on Ebay, Then I went back to the store & sprayed & sprayed & sprayed - I started to choke - but it was worth it! Call me crazy but to me it smells like they have candied up Prada D'Iris! I still smell that distinct deep luxurious Prada smell, that says it all! "I WILL stay with you ALL day & NIGHT for you!" I have had people stop me in the store to ask me what I was wearing! So I have put in my order on Ebay - given specific instructions too my boys AND my husband & I think I'm good to go! LOVE IT

I tried this scent today at the department store and liked especially its caramel notes - I love caramel! - but... sigh... somehow it just didn't do it. I have Prada Prada EDP 2004, which I call 'screaming queen Prada' because it is such an unsubtle combination of heady spices and heady florals. I wear it from time to time. But there is something both those fragrances have in common that seems to be a kind of Prada stamp. Both scents seem a bit too neat, in a way that is very nice but is nevertheless rolled off the production line of the neat, failsafe, chic-ness that is Prada. Beyond the surface there does not seem to be any evocation of complexity, any chaos, any story that could inspire to something like poetry - Candy is sweet, but not too sweet, Candy is luscious, but not grossly lasciviously so, Candy fits the bill for the perfect complement to an outfit that would make every other female slightly envious. But Candy is - like another commenter observes - a monotone and in more ways than one. For my money, Amber Gris by Balmain is just as classy in an understated way and a much sexier and more interesting warm combination of benzoin, spices, musk and heady (but subtle) floral. Now there is a scent that is capable of having secrets...

No joke. This perfume smells exactly like those lavander vanilla scented dry swiffers by Febreeze!
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice sweet smell, but I don't think I want my perfume to smell like something I equate with a cleaning product.

And I'm talking about the dry down. When I first sprayed it, I was thinking "Hmm, I might like this." But the longer it was on, the stronger it became and the scent was Exactly those Lavender/vanilla Dry Swiffers!

Powdery candy, and that's Prada Candy. It almost smells like a candy-like iris flower. My Grandmother used to have one single iris flower in her backyard that had this scent. It sort of reminded me of a candy necklace back then. It's comforting in a way, but it's light. Beware of over spraying yourself with this one. It's will only bring on more powder. They launched it at the correct time of year, since women are looking for scents like this right now.

I received this as a gift from my mom, thank you mom!
I'm a middle age woman and I really like this different warm Prada. Who doesn't like candy; especially one you can wear that doesn't make you sick to your stomach! It's a very nice cozy fragrance that isn't overwhelmingly sweet, so you don't have to worry about offending others around you when you wear it. In, fact, just have fun with it, let go, smile and let your inner child out; just enjoy it yourself, the way your favorite candy can make you smile and troubles melt, and smell exceptional and elegant at the same time.

Warm, rich, foody, comforting, soft, smooth, cosy fragrance with a touch of class!
Prada Candy is a little bit bakery and a little bit plasticy. Like walking into a shoe store and someone eating a big cookie nearby.
This fragrance really is exactly as the notes say, just a mixture of benzoin, musk and caramel. For me the benzoin note is the strongest note at the beginning of application, which dries down to a delicate musky base.
Candy is not a sillage monster, nor is it a heavy fragrance. It stays close to the skin but I found the longevity to be very good!
This is the sort of fragrance you would wear for the autumn winter time as it has certain ‘warmness’ to it.
The name ‘Candy’ suggests it to be some sort of girly bubblegum teen fragrance, but this is not the case. I cannot imagine anyone under the age of 18 wanting to wear this. This to me is a rather ‘grown up’ scent.
I neither love nor dislike this fragrance! I did however expect it to be more of a sweet caramel sugar bomb! So for that reason I have to say I’m a little disappointed.

I was so anxious to try candy and when I did I was so dissapointed because it smell so similar to Infusion D'Iris with some benzoin and caramel added to it.Smell nice and if I did not have a bottle of Infusion D'iris I would consider to buy it.

Despite expecting more of this perfume I keep going back to smell this agin and again.
In the end that is it I will get a bottle simply because it's sweet caramel and I love sweet perfumes.

I enjoy the other offerings from this house for their muted elegance, but this one's just disappointing. Despite the kitschy name and bottle, I thought this would have much more depth and smoky-resininess from the benzoin, but the juice is simply a sweeter and slightly warmer version of Infusion d'Iris.

In other words, a watered-down Dior Homme.

Daniela Andrier-Roche! What went wrong?

I think someone forgot their pile of sugar on the stove. Melted Sugar Caramel Benzoin Musk... sounds alluring, but ends up being like the diluted little sister of Givenchy Hot Couture. That's the word. Diluted.

You would literally have to bathe in Candy to make it as persistent as Insolence/Angel/Poison is with one spray.

Everyone's panning Candy but still, it has over 4000 fans on Facebook alone. -> My conclusion is that most Fragranticans - aficionados - don't like this. Yes, it's linear, and it certainly doesn't re-invent the wheel. (If someone states otherwise, shame on you. :) But obviously the heavy marketing of this fashion/olfactory giant is doing its job.

(Prada knows this isn't a masterpiece, thus the big advertisement campaign.) p.s. Giselle Viz,

I would not recommend teenagers to run away with a view that perfumes are supposed to be cute toffee-apples like Prada Candy. That's just a trend that's in vogue at the moment. I got tired of Candy in one day. But then I don't enjoy smelling like cakes and toffees, maybe with the exception of that great gourmand, Hypnotic Poison, so I was never going to be a fan. But even so, Candy is singularly unmemorable. Can't see anybody racing to the mall for Candy.

Really gorgeous!! I am in love with this fragrance. It is like a feminine version of Dior Homme. I gave my boyfriend Dior Homme 2 times allready and I loved the way it smelled on him, unfortunately I did not have the same luck when I tested myself. But this Prada Candy is exactly what I want. It is not too sweet in my opinion it smells like a soft balm infused with little caramel. Very classy and interesting. It is like a very nice cute next door neighbour girl that when you get to know her she becomes more and more interesting and you finally get hooked on her. Staying power is very good on me and I usually go for sillage bombs. But it is definatelly a discret fragrance and it does not shout. This suits office and evening as well.

I just tried this from a magazine sample. I am older and it summoned up all kinds of memories -- good ones. Definitely powdery -- which I associate with grandmothers, not Tweens. Vanilla is strong but not heavy. The musk is there in a way I like very much (1970 s in Amherst, MA). My favorite scents are Jessica McClintock, Sung, Trish McEvoy Sexy No. 9 and Acca Kappa, all depending on the season. I think Candy could round out my mix. I put this in the same family as Chanel Allure and Shalimar and Obsession, all of which I like occasionally. I like the comment by Violeta -- I think it is apt.

I'm kind of surprised that a high-end company would create a perfume that already exists in a million cheaper versions. My first impression of this is that it smells like your standard, pleasant but one-dimensional burnt-sugar gourmand, and while I like it, I wouldn't be willing to pay more than fifteen dollars for this.

However, I might very well be missing something - I will have to go try this on once more.

EDIT: Okay, I kind of get it now. I still find it surprisingly one-dimensional for such a high-end perfume, but for our nordic, cold winter days it's absolutely lovely.

Candy opens with a nondescript fruity accord that smells like no real fruit on earth, and rapidly transforms into a smoky-sweet caramel scent that is as rich as it is luscious. The caramel bitters into a smooth benzoin note, which is mammoth in proportion to the woody tolu balsam that compliments it. The drydown yields a hazy sweet powder on hints of ambery wood, all quite staid, dignified, yet fun. The scent is very likable and a pleasure to smell, although one could argue that it belongs in 1998 more than 2011. It shares company with Allure Homme, Le Male, and Tommy as a sweet designer oriental that is sure to offend only those who are looking for trouble.

Caveat: While I love drag queens, I tend not to like dessert-like gourmands. Just not my thing.

Prada’s Candy is in many respects a super-gourmand. It’s cotton-candyish, it’s caramellic, it’s vanillic, and it gains sweetness as it goes. Much seems to have come out of Prada’s PR about the benzoin and therefore the oriental genre. Yes, there’s benzoin, but the name of the perfume tells you about the perfume’s true affiliation: the dessert/gourmand category.

I see people referring to Candy as complex, the complexity implying a big, successful outcome. I find Candy more of a kitchen sink gourmand. It’s a busting-at-the-seems stuffed perfume. It hits the prominent notes of the big players in the gourmand game from the past few years.

But if you’re trying to capture Candy by describing its scent, you run the risk of giving a description that might apply to any other dessert perfume. Here’s how I see it: If you liken a sweet gourmand perfume to a straight, femme women, then Candy is the glam drag queen. The femme gives a certain portrayal of gender. The drag queen and Candy both take that same femininity as a starting place, then turn up the volume until the distortion sets in.

I tested this today after reading the Fragrantica reviews and I must say that I find it relatively good. My problem with this one is fiscal ... why pay Prada prices, when exactly the same effect can be had by Aquolina's Pink Sugar for a third of the price? In actual fact, this is Pink Sugar in the opening and Blue Sugar in the drydown. Rather get the Aquolina's and spend what you save on something else :o). I'd probably classify this as cute ... which as we all know means "ugly, but fuckable."

My first thought after smelling this: oh Candy, I would have loved you so much 15 years ago! As a teenager I was desperately looking for a sweet, but not sticky or sugary fragrance. The only thing I don’t like about Candy is the burned sugar note at the beginning. But after it fades comes the cutest drydown ever – creamy caramel, vanilla and soft musc . So if I were fifteen again, I would definitely spray myself to death with Prada’s Candy. But I’m almost 30, so the verdict is: Candy is well made and very cute, on my skin it last long and is not overpowering, but I don’t want to smell like caramel candy anymore. And that’s sad:)

I just spent a small fortune on Prada Candy and wish I could say I am in love with it, but the reality is that I'm merely in like with it. The reviewers that mention its subtlty are so right--it begins as a flowery soft creamy powder, and settles into a gentle, watered-down cinnamon-vanilla scent that reminds me of a nice soap scent lingering behind on the skin after a shower. And subtle as it is, it does last throughout the day. I sprayed in all the usual spots early in the morning and could smell it now and then (including when I kept checking my wrists!)all day long. It didn't turn into stale deoderant smell like many fragrances do. Just more soapy than the caramel-vanilla I kept reading about and hoping for. It's not sweet on me either...just pleasantly fresh. This will serve me well as a rather neutral, natural choice for days and occasions when I want to stay under the perfume radar, yet enjoy some essence of soapy soft spiciness at the same time. I may grow to love it with time...sometimes a good friend can turn into the love of our life, right? ;-)

This is pretty nice, and I am so happy to have this as my Christmas present. On my skin, initially the clean and fresh musky scent gives me an impression of Prada Infusion d'Iris, but it's much smoother and nicely sweet with caramel. Then, it reminds so so much of the new Bond No.9 I Love New York For All. Coincidentally, they both are listed in the same Oriental Vanilla category. Prada Candy may be a bit too smple for its high price, but it takes the best parts of Infusion d'Iris and Bond No.9 I Love NY that I love and voila! my best compromise with it top notch quality and presentation.

Yes, this perfume smells like candy and nothing else. It's a way too sweet, sugary, almost nauseating scent. I can't imagine anyone over the age of 16 wanting to wear this, unless that woman is a) a Peter Pan syndrome sufferer or b) Paris Hilton. Wearing it today and husband said I smelled really good! This scent is very Prada. I like that they are incorporating their signature stamp into their creations and keeping it cohesive while being a bit adventurous. This is a sweet perfume upon spraying but not overly sweet at all in comparison to others in the market I would just called it a woody sweetness almost resin like if you will. I like it a lot, if you like to smell woody notes in your perfume this one is for you. It has a kind mysterious exotic feel to it that I appreciate. This scent is not loud it gives you an understated minimalistic elegant feel. This smells rich and sophisticated, feminine but also it's a scent you can flirt with. Somebody here mentioned similarities with Sensuous by Estee Lauder I have to agree with them that there are some similarities here although sensuous is way stronger than this one. The bottle is really beautiful original and eye catching. I think the perfume can be stronger and longer lasting that is my biggest disappointment with this perfume. The good side is that you can also spray a lot and not feel like you are going to kill somebody in the room. I know here at fragrantica and for perfume lovers longevity and silage are a must as they are for me too. Hopefully they will come up with a new flanker real soon and make some improvements in order to address these issues. I just started wearing it today and plan to wear it for the rest of the week. To give you an idea I sprayed my self several times and I also sprayed my hair. My husband was able to get close to me right after spraying and put his nose in my neck and not feel overwhelmed or suffocated by it which is a plus. This might be a perfect kind of scent for office, romantic occasions or simply to be around kids and not be offensive. A delicious skin scent I would say! Prada Candy is an attempt to attract the younger market to the Prada brand I believe. The girl in the picture is young flirty and fashion conscious. I see a trend with this type of marketing. SO in love by Oscar de la Renta is also using some similar art to advertise their perfume. I like it, I feels kind of retro but modern at the same time I like that they are taking risks.

The first spray smells like candy, like Falling in Love by Philosophy. The drydown smells ok, like vanilla and benzoin. But somewhere in the middle, there is a yucky, chemical, corn-syrup smell that is a big turn-off for me. Overall, this perfume is really nothing special. It seems like it belongs in the Harajuku Lovers collection. It's very unoriginal and I'm frankly shocked that Prada would make something that is destined to NOT become a classic. People who love this should stock up. I predict this will be pulled from shelves within a year.

Why is there a blond on the bottle? Even bigger turnoff. Not that I group perfume according to blond vs. brunette, but I think a sultry caramel scent would fit a brunette better. Weird perfume and weirder packaging.

I was so eager to try this perfume after it was launched due to the wonderfully unique bottle and the listed notes. HUGE disappointment! I was expecting a much stronger scent with moderate to large sillage, and one which would probably become a classic. From the name, I really did expect a beautiful and strong gourmand. Maybe I expected it to be something like a variation of Flowerbomb? Not sure.
Unfortunately, just as many other reviewers have stated, Prada Candy is just like Infusion D'iris with a faint caramel smell added in (to my nose anyway)
Don't get me wrong, it's very pleasant, but not at all what I was expecting. I guess I over-estimated it. Won't be purchasing, sorry Prada.

Maybe, just maybe , for people who appreciate Prada's edulcorated and minimalist types of fragrance this could be called "gourmand", but for someone who means real gourmand , this is just a joke. It barely has any presence at all, it is not there. But, again, if you get infusion d'x and think it's ok, than , yes, this is way more gourmand .
Also, if you think it is extremely stylish to trade your cash for something that lives for about 15 minutes , then go for it. nobody will ever know you are wearing it and you might forget about it too ... This scent is hard to describe - I think it is a gourmand for people who hate gourmands. Does this make any sense ?!

I really like it, and i didn't expect to. when i first saw the bottle and the ad, i hoped to like it but wasn't sure i was going to because I don't usually go for sweet scents and the other Prada scents didn't really appeal to me either. When I finally tried this yesterday, I was shocked. This is the best gsweet fragrance I've ever smelled! Although it's not anything too spectacular, it just agrees with me in a way that's pleasant yet not boring.

I read all of the reviews here and was so excited to try this. 1. It's Prada for goodness sakes and 2. I saw people mentioning it being similar to Fancy, which is one of my favs.

I love gourmands. Candy, sweet gourmands is what started my foundation for my interest in perfumes.

When I first received my sample, I literally thought that the company accidentally sent me Infusion D'Iris. However, I got advice to let it mellow down some. Still smelled like Infusion D'Iris, but then I smelled caramel.

It wasn't until I showered and started with completely clean skin that I got what it was trying to offer me. Infusion D'Iris, caramel, and a speck of vanilla in there. That's it for me. I wish I could get all of those "school girl" "sickly sweet" gourmands, and loads of caramel that everyone else got. However, all I got was Infusion D'Iris with caramel drizzled over it. Shocked me, because on another website I go to, I saw one measly review that stated the same LOL.

I understand Prada has their 'unique' underlying scent that they add to all of their perfumes, but I expected so much more. Do not get me wrong, I like this, but I will not be purchasing a bottle of this, unless I come across it in one of my favorite discount stores such as TJ___X Ma_____lls.

Lasting Power on my skin: Was pretty good. However, it's not a big sillage scent for me. On my skin I got a good 4-5 hours, but on my clothes, I got about 12 hours.

Sillage: Not a sillage scent. It clings close to me. Seems safe and inoffensive

The bottle is very nice. If you are looking for a sweet, caramel fragrance, this is the one for you. Not something I would buy, but in fairness, it is nice. I like it, but do not love it. I think it is a scent for someone who is a sophisticated teenager/young adult. I think of Madonna's Sticky and Sweet CD name...the scent reminds me of a Jessica Simpson fragrance that was released a fews years ago and it also reminds me of Creme Brulee by Laura Mercier.... I love that creme for the body for the fall/winter. So nice. Candy is warm like that, but again, it reminds me of Jessica Simpson, but a little better.

I would call this a gourmand, not an oriental vanilla. It does not get off to a good start. It has that weird overly sweet somewhat insecticide note common in so many of today's perfumes. The middle is a real candybomb: sugar, vanilla, caramel, and butter. It smells like the caramel fudge my grandma used to make every Christmas. Oh, but when we get to the drydown: a unique mix of cedar and wood shavings/sawdust. It is warm, soft, and dry. A little bit sweet and a little bit fresh and outdoorsy. Overall, a ho hum perfume but A+ for that inspired drydown!

Prada Candy is quite the subdued comfort scent. I would say the name and advertising don't really match the scent, from my experience. This is more of a soft, elegant scent than the super-sweet, frilly-girly number you would expect with a name like Candy. If you're into confections like Pink Sugar and are looking for something along those lines, this probably won't be what you're hoping for.

The scent opens very waxy and resiny, and actually not sweet at all. A hint bitter and earthy if anything. The waxy scent is unusual but definitely not loud, and I get a hint of something greenish that smells a little like carrots at this stage. As it develops I get a soft citrus with a hint of musk. The sweetness and caramel don't show up until after the scent has been on my skin for a while - at least an hour or so. It has a lightly sweet, warm, caramel-resin scent that is quite delicious. I would describe it overall as a mellow, comforting caramel-benzoin skin-scent.

I like it, but for me it isn't anything strikingly new. I find it similar in feel to Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, which I already own. Where BG has coconut and more of a warm-weather feel, Candy is more resinous and cold-weather appropriate. They both have a similar soft citrus and caramel note, and a similar earthy undertone.

Also as others have noted, the staying power leaves a lot to be desired...especially coming from a brand like Prada. Another reason I would not invest in a bottle.

I bought a bottle of Prada Candy a couple of days ago and am still enjoying it.

It opens with a top note that is somewhat like a camarelised version of Infusion d'Iris, but is quickly warmed up with the musky benzoin base. After an hour, what is left on the skin is the light, creamy camarel smell, which I really like.

Overall, a lovely winter scent. Great bottle, too.

If there ever was a lady among the sugary sweet crowd, let me introduce you her. This is Candy Prada, the Sophisticated Sweetheart. I may not love her, but she is passable.

I smell Madagascar vanilla bundt cake drizzled with caramel sauce and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar. It is Holiday season, and you have a ton of cards to send. You dread the thought of licking those cards, as the smell of the glue, no matter how mild puts you off. This is what I got from this. I don't like. Again, je n'aime pas les gourmands. However, for those who do like the sugar, this is your "special", going out fragrance. I can't put my finger on it, but to me, I grasp this one powder note that gives it some class.

What attracted me to this fragrance was the bottle. Gorgeous stuff. In my opinion the best dressed of all Prada fragrances. It is very good quality and looks great on a vanity. I think this is where the cost comes from because quite frankly the juice is not worth the pricing. And perhaps the name. Reminds me of Ben 'N' Jerry's Creme Brulee for some reason. Anyway, don't like it. But if you are a sugar holic, and if you like pink sugar but want more class...look here.

Very different from what you would expect from Prada but very, very well done nonetheless! It took me 2 weeks to decide that I loved it because I still have nightmares about the horrific Pink Sugar and I was getting a somewhat similar smell - on the tester paper. I tried it in my skin and loved it! Sophisticated, refined and not at all the sickly sweet smell that the word "Candy" conjures up. Well done Prada- thanks for having the nerve to do something different.

I was surprised by this fragrance! The name was very off putting but I decided to take a whiff anyway on my skin. I was expecting a variation of Pink Sugar or something very overly sweet, but it turned out to be a soft sweet fragrance that was very pleasant. This by no means is a masterpiece of a fragrance, not really something I feel is a necessity in my collection of fragrances but it's nice. More for those days where I find L Lolita Lempicka is too much...which is rarely.

I think what sets Prada Candy apart from the mainstream 'candy' scents is that it tones down on the sweetness, yet you can still detect the sophisticated touch to the caramel. The caramel you'd detect in creme caramel or creme brulee, rather than the sickeningly saccharine caramel you find in most scents.

Candy starts off with a caramel note with an odd touch of Play Doh. The drydown however brings out a creamier 'milker' side to the caramel.

It's a subtle scent, but you know it's there.
But wear another fragrance over it, and you'll forget you had Candy on in the first place. It easily disappears.

Totally unexpected from the Prada collection, but I do praise Prada for this brave introduction.

This starts off with a blast of waxy lipstick, the kind my mother used to wear (Revlon, I think), and I would try on as a kid. It quickly turns to a caramel chocolate smell, but not the cheap kind. This is good quality candy, by Godiva or Russell Stover. I can still detect the old-fashioned lipstick scent in there too. It remains like that for an hour, and then turns into the smell of Play-Doh! So by the name Candy, they mean that this is a fragrance for the little girl in us, who wants nostalgic comforting scents from the carefree kindergarten years. Are times really so tough now? THis is less of a fragrance, than a lesson in regression. Hey, I just rhymed, lol!

Too weak! I expected a sweet, caramel, sugar bomb, something that suits this name, but no.

At first, I only can smell something creamy, powdery, musky, clean. Which is not a bad thing, the only problem is it doesn't suit the whole candy concept. This clean note lasts for about 2 hrs, and then I start smelling something like traces of burnt sugar, liked it actually. It still lingers after 4 hrs now, with that same musky, clean note, nothing sweet. Overall - it is ok for an office perfume, people who like their perfumes close to the skin will love this. For my liking, its aura is too weak, and its note is nothing special and original. Dislike ..

I'm loving this, and normally I don't like sweet fragrances.

Take Infusion d'Iris, add a lot of caramel and benzoin, and there you have Prada Candy.

It's what you'd expect from a fragrance named "Candy" from the house of Prada, really. Candy has that clean Prada signature that all their perfumes seem to possess. It is sweet and warm without being thick or heavy. The benzoin is prominent, and it gives Candy a dry quality to it. It's gourmand, yet it manages to stay soft, clean and sophisticated. I can imagine happily cuddling on a big fluffy sofa, wrapping myself in the warm aroma of Candy on some crazy cold winter night.

I was really looking forward to receive this (blind buy) with the mail today. I am soooo dissapointed! I had expected a sweet, cozy gourmand-ish smell, but all I get is heavy, musky 80's power-perfume. It is not sweet enough to be gourmand, and not that innovative or new at all. Reminds me of what my mother used to smell like in the 80's, when she wore pink nails and large plastic earrings with her powersuits. Would wish it was more caramely. Such a dissapointment :(

Candy is not hard to understand, yet it has a decent amount of depth to it. If you ask me what is the note I crave the most in a fragrance, I’d say benzoin without a doubt. The unmistakable dry and resinous sweetness that will wrap you in its warmth is one of a kind. And there is plenty of it in Prada Candy.
But first you will have to go through a well pronounced gourmand opening that yet manages to stay within boundaries. No spices here, just thick caramel molases. This is an opulent aroma that fades after sometime leaving all the room for benzoin. An underlying freshness of some citrus is detectable through the opening and the middle, though drenched in caramel syrup.
A grown up dessert that deserves a try, maybe even two or three before being ruled out. Sillage softens after half an hour and the longevity is good. Certainly not for any taste, but it melted my initial skepticizm with the benzoin base.

I've decided to update my review on this one.

The benjoin in Candy is without a doubt the focus. It starts out with a sweet edge but soon settles into a roasted, woody fragrance with a touch of musk.

I find it enjoyable but it won't be my go to winter scent. One of the reasons for that is that I already own it's older sister Benjoin and wow are they close. Really, really, you don't need both similiar.

I'm pleased that I bought it because of the bottle mainly. Talk about irresistable! The fragrance however......there's no ground broken here. Sillage 5/10 and lasting power is about 6 hours for me.

I love sweet perfumes, I really do! However, Candy is not as sweet as some I own - I get the benzoin and caramel strongly which seems to stay with me nearly all the way - just fading out near the end. I really don't get any musk at all unless it is there hiding under the benzoin?

I do like this and I am assuming this is what Angel should smell like on me??? It isn't a girly smell and to be honest I am puzzled as to the name Candy - which to me evokes the likes of Pink Sugar et al.

I find this a very elegant perfume and I am glad it suited me as I bought it blind (bearing in mind it would be very easy to offload if I didn't like it!) it has a good silage and thus far has been long lasting on me even after a few hours I can still smell Candy swirling around me - wonderful....! I don't think this is one for the hotter and sticker months of the year as I find it enveloping and cosy I would plump for this as an autumn, winter and chilly spring type of fragrance. Definitely a day to evening fragrance as well. A good all rounder to be honest for work, play, and romance!

My only concern is that in January I'm going to be smelling this everywhere on the bus, tube, overground, tram etc !!! It will lose it's uniqueness. I certainly think it will be the no.1 gift fragrance for Xmas this year!

Upon first spraying it did remind me a tad of Princess Marina de Bourbon but without the edge and having a more softer rounder finish to the nose!

I do like this a lot and will definitely be a keeper for me! I just hope it isn't overkilled by the mass market!

Well yes, it's not a total new invention, when you smell it on a paper stripe, but surprisingly on my skin the benzoin pops out in the very first minute and evolves the soft, creamy caramel into a very fruity, juicy raspberry toffee. An amazing effect that becomes wrapped into the warm and cozy coat of musk after hours. Speaking in pictures - it's the last warm day of fall that you spend on a fair, very well wrapped into your favorite cozy-cute pullover.

This is not the girly fragrance. Prada Candy is a 100% Prada scent, but under the contemporary conception. In a whole it reminds me of a sweet woodiness of Estee Lauder Sensuous. Maybe fragrances are not strictly the same, but they share the same mood. Prada Candy starts with a sweet caramel (not loud, but delicate!) accord, but than it becomes woodier and woodier (benzoin begins to play) and simultaneously less sweet. Yes, it has something common with both L'Eau Ambree and Infusion d'Iris (especially in the process of development), but in the base Candy is closer to Sensuous. I'm happy that Prada lives up to its reputation - Candy is a well composed perfume.

The scent is quite boring semi-sweet caramel, but the bottle is YUMMY! :) I want it 85% for the bottle, and 15% for the scent... which though not memorable at all, is perfectly wearable as it's neither very strong nor very sweet...likable enough.

I went to Neimans twice to get that bottle, but both times, after smelling and testing the fragrance I went "meh" and got something else instead... (Prada Infusion de Rose, and Voyage d'Hermes)... but I still want that Candy bottle, god damn it! :P

Update: Got the perfume and now I am completely addicted to it!!! It really grew on me... this one! Now I see it as a chic, sophisticated, flirty and very comforting fragrance. My reaction to this one is quite mixed. First of all i really like the bottle design. But the fragrance itself must be a joke! I wouldn´t expect something like that under Prada name. It suits much more better the Miu Miu brand, not Prada, really!
Well, back to fragrance. This is actually very enjoyable perfume that is sweet and reminds me of an "Escada Collection", they do share similar caramel notes. But "Candy" has more softer caramel with somekind of fresh undertone, i guess that is benzoine. That makes it not overpowerly sweet like in case with Fendi´s "Fantasia" which is also is same group. I haven´t tried "pink sugar" ever, so i can´t compare. "Candy" is quite linear fragrance with a good staying power but after a while it really becomes a skin scent and quite boring. Sillage could be better, you have to really spray yourself generously to smell it not from your skin but in this case there is a danger of a headache. Even i, who is very much into sweet fragrances couldn´t take much of it. I really wish i would be more complex and developing and not so boring. It is not bad at all, but it is not good either. So i am pretty much undecided whether to like or dislike it. I guess i stay neutral about it, but will still purchase a bottle just in case.
Oh, and this is strictly a colder time of the year fragrance for me. I cannot imagine someone wearing it during some garden party on a summer day (as one of the consequences you might get beestung! :)

I like a nice vanilla/caramel fragrance during autumn/winter and this delivers. But the sweetness does have a appealing slightly acidic undertone, so it's not a overwhelming sweet, sticky mess.

For me the benzoin note is the strongest note and the scent reminds me of playing dress up and applying Mum's makeup. A lovely cosmetic smell.

Overall I'm really loving this whimsical perfume and will be buying my own bottle as soon as possible.

The lasting power is actually pretty good, it's just that the fragrance is light for a Prada release and is fairly close to the skin.

I'm all about plastic, Barbie-doll weird scents (one of my favorites is Madame JPG, so you get the idea) and this one delivers. It's unusual, hard to describe, but I agree it might appear flat as there's not much going on. So if you're keen on the first notes, then you'll be more than happy with the purchase.

This is Oriental Vanilla, the category of scents I should absolutely avoid by all means, yet this is not sweet in a sickly way, it's deep, warm, comforting like a a mug of hot chocolate. I smell fudge and vanilla, but it's not overpowering. Nothing like Pink Sugar, which I own and absolutely hate. Pink Sugar is like caster sugar, Prada Candy smells like brown sugar and caramel. The difference is obvious.

Close to skin scent, definitely, smells amazing on clothes. On my wishlist.

I love Prada fragrance in general. Even the ones that I don't personally like to wear, I can appreciate the work that went into crafting these fragrances. I was quite dubious when I saw the name and promotional materials, but I was eager to see what Prada would create with this name. I was happy to get a sample in a Neiman Marcus beauty week gift, sadly I can't say I like this much. To my nose, this smells like a more refined version of the latest Britney Spears-esque dreck that people pump out to mass market to young girls. The name Candy is very appropriate to this fragrance, because to me that is exactly what it smells like. Sticky sweet (not on the level of a Pink Sugar, but not far) and falling a bit flat. The dry down is a little better, less of that cloying candy smell and a bit more musky, but still nothing I would wear. I also was extremely unimpressed with the staying power. Even after spraying moderately liberally it only lasted maybe 4hrs max.
I had to update my review after reading below that someone thought this smelled akin to Infusion D'Iris, and much like the other Prada scents without being "overly sweet" and I ask that person, did you smell the right bottle? Infusion D'Iris in my nose smells almost dry, floral and only a very mild sweetness with more of a powdery dry-down. This fragrance smacks you upside the head with caramel and candy floss the second you spray it on. I know perfumes smell differently on everyone, but one thing it seems that everyone else is agreeing upon, like or hate the scent, is that it is quite sweet. If anything, I would say this smells more like L'eau Ambree but without as much of an incensy amber dry-down.

I bought this on the first day it was for sale in Bergdorf's because I was so sure I'd adore it based on the description and components. I only wear fragrances in the oriental group, especially oriental vanilla scents. I cannot, and do not, wear florals. On me, Prada Candy oddly smells floral initially (I was not pleased) but fairly quickly becomes very sweet, but not really sugary. The drydown on me is extremely powdery - I get no caramel at all. In fact, the drydown and lingering scent on me is almost identical to Anna Sui's "Sui Dreams" which I used to wear years ago. Candy is a nice perfume, but not spectacular. Very simple, sweet - but not gourmand-y - the major good thing about it on me is that the staying power is unusually long - I am still smelling the drydown 6 hours later. (I guess that's good only if you love the scent though!) I did use several sprays just on the pulse points which may account for its lasting so long.

All in all, a bit of a disappointment given all the hype, but an ok scent for every day. (And I am many decades older than the young girls being targeted for this). However, no comparison to my regulars - Shalimar and Lolita Lempicka. And not even close to being a gourmand scent like Laura Mercier's Creme Brûlée.

It does smell like a sweeter version of L'Eau Ambree for me as well. In my opinion it takes about half an hour to develop into anything at all. It's a bit querky: milky, creamy, has a skin-ambery note, it's a bit woodsy and a bit sweet. But it's hard to get all that, because it smells so light and close to the skin. It smells a little bit like plastic doll heads ...

This perfume is almost identical to cathy Guetta's ibiza! it just has longer staying power!

It is gently sweet, with a pretty, dainty dry down. it's the type of scent that puts you in good mood?? lol.

My 8 yr old Daughter said to me that I smell like talcum powder so there's an idea of how this smells.

A big like from me !

I just got a mini of Prada Candy and I was curious to try it because from the listed notes I thought it would smell very similar to Pink Sugar and possibly also Hard Candy, which is a perfume I love.

To me, Prada Candy does indeed remind me of both Pink Sugar and Hard Candy. It's not as sweet on me though as Pink Sugar is, and there seems to be a rose'y element to it underlying the sweetness which makes it seem slightly floral, although I don't see rose listed in the notes on here! It smells kind of like a very subdued, dusty rose to me. The caramel aspect reminds me more of Hard Candy (as opposed to Pink Sugar which is more pure sugary). The sweetness isn't overwhelming and, on my skin anyway, is quite subdued. The lasting power and sillage of Prada Candy though was very poor on me and not only could I barely smell it on my skin unless I sniffed my wrist (and even then it was only barely detectable!) but I couldn't even smell it at all when I was moving around. After a couple of hours it had virtually disappeared altogether, so I put my Dana French Vanilla perfume on instead and that's been on my skin now for 8+ hours and is still going strong (and that only costs around $10 for a big 8.0z cologne!!).

I have Hard Candy and in my opinion that's a much better perfume than Prada Candy. Hard Candy is caramel'ish with a hint of fresh fruitness, it's warm, sweet, sexy, creamy, long lasting and has very good sillage. As if that weren't enough it also costs about one sixth of the price of Prada Candy! So, Prada Candy falls way short in my opinion.

For a fairly expensive perfume (I believe it costs over $100 for a 2.7oz (80ml) bottle in the U.S. and around £70 or so for the same sized bottle in the UK, where I live) to smell so similar to several other, much more reasonably priced, perfumes that are already popular and well established on the perfume market is a copout and I think it's taking advantage of customers who they know will just buy the perfume anyway for the 'prestige' element, rather than for the fact that it's actually worth having or spending a lot of money on. Having said that, if people are stupid enough to buy something on that basis then it's their own fault if, in fact, that product turns out to be nothing special at all!

I eagerly waited for this perfume to finally hit the stores, really hoping it would be something special as I love the original Prada but wanted a new signature scent. I have to say on testing this one I was so disappointed. It overwhelmingly smells of caramel and that's about all I get. My son likened it to candyfloss which I suppose yes it is called Candy so the name is quite apt. I love the packaging but won't be purchasing this one. My quest for a new oriental perfume continues.

Very, very disappointing, considering im a huge fan of Prada (infusion d'iris and de tubereuse especially).
The bottle is gorgeous but the scent is a very pale copy of Dior Hypnotic Poison (because of the vanilla), the smell lasts about 5 minutes and there is nothing special about it!
They obviously did not use a fortune on research/creation/developing...and the result is this absolute waste...shame as i was soooo looking forward to it!

Difficult to understand whom Prada is targeting with this one. Not candy-sweet enough for young ladies and too burnt-sugary for the more mature woman. Prada has just not cracked it this time. Disappointing.

Definitely reminds me of Pink Sugar. I didn't spray it on, or give it more than 2 minutes however. Sounds like the dry down (which is what you're stuck with most of the day, anyway) could be much better.

I tried this the other day at the prada boutique I was so excited when I saw the testers, because i've been wanting this so much since I heard prada was going to be releasing a gourmand scent. Needless to say I was kind of dissapointed. It's a pretty scent but as the day goes by after a few hours is when Prada candy starts to smell so delectable. Upon first spray the scent reminds me of vintage cosmetics with a mixture of L'eau Ambree and Britney Spears Fantasy I thought to myself wtf is this lol. As it starts warming up on the skin it takes on a Lucky Charms marshmellow effect. The drydown is ambery vanilla with a hint of powder you can definitely smell the benzoin it's absolutely delicious. I wish Prada Candy can just get through all the bullshit and just fast forward to the drydown. Lasts all day I sprayed it around 2 in the afternoon and could smell it on my wrist the next morning. Overall it's an okay scent but i don't think i'll be purchasing; Such a shame because the bottle is absolutely gorgeous in person!

In "The Perfect Scent" Chandler Burr writes about designers striving for consistency and brand identity in their perfumes. I thought Candy was going to be a complete departure from the other Prada scents based on it's design and ad campaign, (and notes) but it smells, to me, very similar to Infusion D'Iris. This could have come in a rectangular bottle labeled "Infusion d'Musc" three years ago. It has the same initial clean and powdery Prada scent, and I only get a tiny amount of caramel sweetness. I would say it is "intellectual" over anything, and yeah, it is a really really pretty fragrance too. Sophisticated without being matronly, and if you're expecting this to be anything like Vera Wang's Princess, it is not.

I finally tested this today after anticipating it for months and what do I get?LEau Ambreé but much more intense. Here in Milan Candy has only just come out but many of my friends have already tested it and they got the same impression as me.
It is a rather lovely fragrance the opening for me is a very beautiful aroma of freshly open lipstick and after about ten minutes tha candy kicks in and it is rather intriguing, but not so special after all.

This perfume has this clean prada signature, its sweet but never gets to sweet. The musc is very strong at first spray but settles. I can smell all 3 notes in it. I have to say I don't enjoy this on my skin but liked it on a friend of mine. The caramel was stronger on her . This just doesn't wow me. It's quite strong , but unpleasant to me. Synthetic.

Caramel is not only the base note here, it's noticeable right away . Not only noticeable, it's overwealming !
If you want to smell like a sundae , wear this one !
Funnily enough , i like it a lot, it is young , optimistic , vary sweet (obviously )and rather innocent . Although they apparently have no notes in common , i would call it the angelic twin sister of Diesel's Loverdose , who is the evil one.
I wouldn't dare wearing it , regarding my age . Better for teens imo + sadly it gave me a slight headache , which quickly disapeared however.

The bottle is interesting, I haven't seen such an interesting bottle before, a real vintage one.
The fragrance is somehow a ture mistery for me. After I sprayed it on the paper card, I could only smell it 5 minutes maybe. Traditional Prada soapiness + some sweetness. After an hour the whole fragrance developed into something musky, sweet but oriental at the same time, it is a pure delight. I think I'm going to retest it on my skin as well in order to find out its lasting power.

So disappointed in this. It sounded like it would be delicious. I was hoping for something more like Loverdose without licorice. I don't in fact get much of anything at all. A tame baby powdery skin scent is all it is on me. No sillage whatsoever, staying power of a couple hours but so close to the skin I have to press my nose to my wrist - not my favourite way to experience fragrance! It's a pity, seemed a good idea and the presentation is lovely but to smell good to me it has to actually smell of something. Won't be spending my hard earned cash on this.

Prada Candy is like a cross between Infusion d'Iris (for the transparency) and L by Lolita Lempicka ( for the caramel/benzoin accord). Very interesting. See how not all fragrances for young women have to be pink fruity florals.

Yet, it's a pity it stays close to the skin. I'm already hoping for the launch of an "Intense" version.

If you are wondering what Léa Seydoux burbles in the TV commercial, it's the text of a Marilyn Monroe song in "Some Like It Hot" ;-)

I was waiting for Prada Candy so much...but it is one of the biggest dissapointment of the year...
On my skin it smells like L`Eau Ambree Prada for women - not similar - exactly like that. The only positive i can find is that it last on skin for very very long time - i can smell it for more than 12 hours and L'eau Ambree lives on my skin for no more than an hour.
Pretty scent - but why Prada copies itself? Couldn't they think about something new??

This review should be short & sweet (much like this prettily packaged perfume) but when a fragrance is a mammoth “hedge-sitter” it is even more difficult to pin down the successes and the failures of the potion in a single sentence.

Starting with the positives:

* the bottle is quirky & cute, sprays well and would appeal to "gals" of all ages

* the scent is not bad...read into this what you will but let me conjure up a scenario for you to gauge how you may react when trialling Candy.

You have just bought an amazing new designer outfit & you ask your loved one/best friend their opinion of how you look. They say “nice”. How do you feel? Do you:

A) Scurry away bristling with anger & promising never to waste money on designer tags & pretty labels promising impossible dreams again. Next time it will be a classic piece, carefully tailored & known for its ability to out-last & out-class seasonal pieces.

B) Hmm. Not quite the rapturous applause you were hoping for. It will probably hang about in your wardrobe being overlooked for most of its life. When it does get an airing you will probably think how nice it looks …& then it will spend another 6 months being overlooked for other more comfortable/fitting/classic/daring outfits.

C) Nice – verrrry nice. This outfit will suit all occasions without trying to make a bold statement. Who wants to be the centre of attention, anyway? You’d much rather be nice/pretty/awfully pleasant.

On the negative side:

*Candy sounds like a call-girl, & not a classy one at that. (On the plus side you reassure yourself that she sounds young, perky & fun.)

* Candy is much more quiet & tame than you’d expect…& a lot less perky & fun. (You check with the escort agency to see, if by some terrible clerical error, you have received mild-mannered-Mary instead.)

*She has no presence & she doesn’t seem to change or develop during your encounter.

* She doesn’t last long. (You wonder why you wasted your money on another over-egged glossy advert. She does, however, linger on the sheets. You feel a bit sorry for her as she did seem terrible “nice”.)

Of course, I am being cruel: Candy really isn’t a bad scent. If you like low-key, vanilla-based sweet-nothings you will love her. She reminds me (start to finish) of inhaling the sweet bits left at the bottom of a bag of caramel-coated nuts minus the nuts, whilst sitting warm-skinned in a very old attic in bright sunlight. Not powdery - more a light, caramel-amber dust. Sillage & lasting power – disappointing.

My friend loved it. Me? Meh. In the end it boils down to this: I won’t pay good money for well-wrapped, sweet vanilla dust.

Very 'done-to-death'. Unoriginal, smells like 'The One' and others. Harsh opening, no softness evident at all. Quality ingredients, a good scent, but not a great one. I get a harsh blossom scent in here and hardly any gourmand factor.

To day I finally had the chance to test Candy. From all of the new autumn releases this has been my most anticipated. I was hoping that this fragrance would be somehow similar to Obsession but less soapy. Candy is far from soapy but it doesn't in any way remind me of Obsession - Candy isn't nearly as complex.

The name suggests that this is a super sweet scent, something for a gum chewing teenager but it isn't. It's as muted as Infusion d'Iris and as "grown up" as Amber.
Where most toffee scents these days are mainly based on the sugary element of caramel this scent holds a strong note of melted butter. In fact it's the most prominent note in this perfume - almost like heated caramel mass under preparation. I can also detect a vague benzoin note, a little sharp. It's a very linear perfume, a bit powdery without being musky, and it stays close to the skin but the longevity is rather good.

Candy is the kind of perfume that could be a daily scent during the colder months. Personally I don't find it alluring or sexy enough to use as an evening scent. Though Candy is a cosy and warm perfume I can't help being a little disappointed.

In 3 words: WARM - BUTTER - LINEAR

I finally got my hands on a mini of this. All I can say is it's delicious. I know people have said it smells like princess/pink sugar and I can see why they would say this. For me it is not completey true because this may have a hint of that but it smells elegant and expensive at the same time. This is candy like but for me there is no way it can be compared to a cotton candy body spray. The benzoin is not an overdose but you can smell it a great deal in the beginning. The dry down is musky and the simplicity of it is wonderful. The only thing is for me it is very soft and the candy side of it fades away very fast. It not very longlasting in general which is not a plus.

I made a special trip to Neimen Marcus just to get a whiff of this- I (admittedly) like sweet scents, and and "overdose" of benzoin sounded nice. My initial spray was "POWDER!", which I was informed would develop into a darker, more complex scent. I began a stroll around Rodeo drive smelling my arm every 10 minutes like a weirdo, and the powder wore off quickly to reveal a rather tame caramel/powdery scent. The lasting power was great, but it (on my skin at least) turned out to be a fairly simple scent not to dissimilar for Aquolina Sugar line. This is a younger scent for sure.

My friend APassionateJourney sent me a sample of Candy! I could not be more thrilled! It's delicious! The top note is totally Prada and reminded me of their L'Ambree and Iris. But it quickly transitions to something that reminds me of Estee Lauder's Sensuous. That isn't a bad thing at all because I really enjoy Sensuous. Candy is definitely a bit lighter, like most of Prada's most recent scents. It's a winner for me and I can't wait to get my hands on the beautiful bottle of Candy! Thanks! : )

Well, the name sure does fit. CANDY! I just smelled this at Neiman Marcus today and it's very caramelly smelling. I was able to get a sample. They didn't have the bottle in. Just the lab testers for people to get a whiff. I just put a dab on my hand and it seems to be transforming. It smells like a caramel dip or something but there's a sophistication to it that keeps it from going too kiddish. This is definitely a fragrance I could picture an older person wearing. I dunno if I could see a lot of really young people loving this. It starts off really sweet but like 10 seconds later it feels like it's warming on your skin and there's a bit of an edge to it. They're going to call me when it comes in so I think I'll be buying a bottle :)
