Rouge Royal fragrance was launched in 2002. For the season of 2011, the house of Princesse Marina De Bourbon presented a new, limited edition under the name Rouge Royal Elite. The new perfume is described as a rich, sophisticated and sensual floral - fruity – woody, “a much more present, powered and sensual fragrance”.

Fruity notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and black currant open the composition with their juicy and sweet tones. The heart of the fragrance is rich with floral notes of Centifolia rose, Indian jasmine and ylang-ylang from Madagascar (rose replaced lily of the valley of the original). The base features intensive woody notes of Mysore sandalwood, Indonesian patchouli and vetiver, along with warm amber and vanilla.

Rouge Royal Elite comes in a gold bottle and red box, retaining the original design. This limited edition is available as Eau de Parfum in bottles of 50 ml and 100 ml.

Initially when I sprayed this on, I found it to be rather bitter to my nose. Drying down it seems to mellow out, a little bit. If you can bear the first 20 mins, maybe it could be worn. The strawberry notes are definately there, but it smells more like crushed strawberry seeds and leafs, rather than sweet, plump, juicy, sugar soaked strawberrys. The flacon has a plastic, sharp pointy lid, which I don't like. It could be used for self defense....lol..
I bought this blind, as I do, based upon the notes listed, so I think my bottle will just have to sit there and I can try to find a more appropriate lid, or maybe it actually represents the juice inside, which is sharp and clings to your taste buds, is really not my thing at all. Alas, I so hoped I could warm to this fume, but I've tried three times now and I get the same result...
