The house of Rance 1795 has presented two new fragrances from their luxurious line, Rue Rance. The perfumes were named Rue Rance Eau Duc De Berry and Rue Rance Eau De La Couronne, and they have been on the market since May 2009. New aromas are olfactive reminiscence of the best times of the house of Rance; times of genuine elegance when Napoleon set up new rules and changes in culture.

Jeanne Sandra Rance is doing her best to offer all old fragrances back to the market, by creating them based on unchanged formulas of Rance. Both new fragrances are now available in amount of 50 ml.

Rue Rance Eau De La Couronne is constructed as a fragrance with accentuated fruity accords above floral heart and hot amber. It features red orange, lemon, melon, black currant, apple, jasmine, violet, freesia, lily of the valley, sandalwood, iris, musk mahogany and amber. Its flacon is also made of glass and decorated with gold.

To my nose, Rancé 1795 RUE RANCE EAU DE LA COURONNE is far more floral than oriental! In fact, this packs such a punch of freesia, that I am reminded immediately of J'ADORE, ASTOR PLACE and BELLE DE NUIT!

Because of the fruitiness and the resinous quality, which imparts a very perfumey quality to the composition, I cannot really believe that this is a faithful representation of a fragrance created two centuries ago. However, it does smell like a good rendition of some combination (a hybrid...) of the above modern perfumes!

The tangible (sniffable...) fruity quality in this perfume is vaguely reminiscent also of FERRE edp. Golden and shimmery. Again, the J'ADORE concept as well.

But the keyword here, when all is said and sniffed, is: Freesia. If you love freesia, you may love EAU DE LA COURONNE. If not, you'll want to stay very far away...
