I knew I'd love this before I even owned a bottle way back when and I did.
Love the smell,Love the bottle and I love the name :)
I think it suits me well :)
I need to get this again really soon :)
i compared revlon fire&ice one one wrist and ici by coty on the other one. they are quite identical. i do really adore both. an ambery sophisticated sweetness, layered by magnolia and orchid. just intoxicating. staying power for fire&ice is amazing. 10h+ sillage awesome ! love it!
I remember wearing this in high school. I thought it was great at the time. Very warm and sophisticated. I don't know if my body chemistry has changed or if I just couldn't smell some of the more subtle notes after time but now I find it just smells cheap and artificial.
I remember this from years back. There is something kind of like fresh baked cookies, mixed with shampoo and ammonia, about this scent. Tacky, clouded with too much faux vanilla, yet no actual vanilla, for an artificial feel.
my fav budget variant of everyday scent. but, nowadays it became a chip toilet room aromatizer. revlon, what happened?
love:)
Beautifully warm, entrancing, envelopping and cozy. Long-lasting on me which is a great plus! The only thing that 'bugs' me is the AMBER which is represented as a stone here... There is no such thing as 'mineral' perfume which comes from that stone... Actually it' s synthetic 'ambregris' which comes from (yes!) Whale Blubber!!!!! Thank God they can duplicate it synthetically! Reading the composition, I can almost see a xmas tree in the background and a fireplace going with elegant women having tea. The fruity notes fizz like champagne upon opening, then settle down to let the floral heart float around you in the most delightuf way: sillage monster for me! And the drydown is absolutely divine on me.. Indeed i do get vanilla: lots!!! I wonder where it comes from since there are no tonka beans listed here (though i saw it somewhere else i believe). Musk lingers sweetly and leaves a sweet powdery trail. I give it a 8 even though I love designer fumes. This will always be a staple of my perfume wardrobe! Simple, Elegant, Timeless, Sensous and Comforting. I get compliments and am told I smell like xmas desert! xxx good day fragranticans! Rosie xx
Sweet, sexy and lovely! Lasts quite well. I am very surprised vanilla is not listed in the notes. I also smell cherries...must love the sweet ones!!
The first perfumer that comes to mind when I smell this is Maurice Roucel.
The price is to die for. This one and Ciara are very fine perfumes. I prefer Ciara, as it is spicier, and not quite so sweet.
Revlon makes some great quality fragrances.
This was my very first perfume ever (given to me as a gift by my best friend when we were back in high school), and so it has sentimental value to me. When I wear it, I get tons of compliments (mostly from men). To me it smells JUST like a cinnamon roll, which could be either a positive or a negative depending on your perspective. Personally, I quite like it, and go back to it on occasion. I love the concept of this fragrance but I'd love to find a higher quality, more sophisticated version.
I had this spray and body lotion set. I got a gift obviously as I would never buy this one even if it was sold for a single dollar. I disliked it as it smelt like a thick cough syrup. Not like something that is supposed to make you smell good but rather something that is supposed to make you smell artificial and synthetic. Nothing natural or pleasant or beautiful about it. Was wondering what is the real aim of a smell like this ? you've got cough ? Not a wonder it is so inexpensive. It makes you smell inexpensive. Sorry.
Victoria Secret REALLY copied this one when they made their "Amber Romance". It`s EXACTLY the same scent. And I mean EXACTLY.
I love this smooth, warm, rounded, sweet cherry/vanilla scent. Very cozy!
I'm really loving this fragrance. Thank you to Fragrantica and the wonderful reviews for which I would otherwise probably have continued to overlook this beauty!
This is a gorgeous oriental, a very warm scent with a beautiful sweetness from the vanilla. The initial opening does somewhat remind me of children's medicine but thankfully this is gone within a couple of minutes and what I'm left with is totally worth it.
I don't really detect any individual notes as such, it's just so well blended and smooth, not too strong or heady at all yet still noticeable to others around you - I've already received a handful of compliments since wearing it.
A classic fragrance suitable to all ages and all occasions. I've worn this during the day, including to work, as well as nights out and it just fits.
Highly recommend!
This is my favorite scent ever !! I always get compliments when i wear it and my husband buys it for me often. it's my signature scent. It lasts awhile if you spray it into your hair and put it on pulse points. It's affordable so spray it often and dont feel bad about doing so.
My wife wears this scent often and I get compliments from strangers saying how wonderful my wife smells.
I agree with freddiefingers. The mens version is amazing. I'm not sure if it's even made anymore, I haven't seen it in years. I had the Fire and Ice for women at one time, and I remember it being very warm, a bit powdery, with lots of amber.
am wondering why the men's isnt listed on here.it's one of the best ftagrances I have used and hadnt even heard of it until last month.so underrated!!
This perfume really comforts me. I could imagine a child having wonderful memories of hugging his/her grandmother and just smelling this beautiful powdery lingering scent. I smelled this at K-mart and absolutely fell in love! I bought at tissit bottle (tissit is my word for small) and I love to wear this in the fall/winter months. I've gotten a lot of compliments on this one :) On my skin, the lasting power is not as great as some say, but it does last a while, but it definitely lingers on clothes for days!
I'm sorry to say, lovely scent, but no lasting power. Scent was gone within an hour of putting it on. It was beautiful while it lasted
Wow, just noticed on other people's reviews how great lasting power is, so I guess my bottle is very old. I have had this bottle a GOOD 15 years, and honestly scent hasn't gone bad, but maybe that's why it doesn't last. Since the scent is so lovely maybe I should indulge myself with a brand new bottle. They still sell it in my local drugstore
I have been wearing Fire and Ice, on and off, for years. Its truly a comfort scent. I always reach for it when I want to feel secure and calm. I too notice alot of vanilla and amber and during the dry down I get incense in the most beautiful way. Kind of like a very soft Kenzo Amour Parfum. It lasts all day and I don't get sick of the smell like with some perfumes that seem to hang around unwanted like an annoying relative.
Goes on very strong, so use a light touch. It is a rich warm scent, I quite like it. It opens fruity with a lot of orange blossom and tangerine. I find the dry down a very pleasant amber/musk with just the slightest hint of incense burried somewhere deep within the fruitiness. I find it quite similar on me to estee lauder tuscany per donna, and nearly identical to Givenchy Play (this may just be my body chemistry). This perfume has amazing lasting power, the only one I know of that lasts longer than this is obsession.
drugstore cult classic.
loud candied orange preserved in vanilla spice compote.
a warm amber drydown with sweet incense!
a less sweet version of l de lolita
I picked this up out of curiosity and because it's so incredibly cheap (heck why not right). It's actually a decent little perfume.
It's pretty uniform on me aside from the quick and barely detectable opening addition of tangerine and tuberose. What I get out of it is a smooth vanilla like amber, earthy and warm, sweet but not cloying. If I really try I can still pick up some tangerine in the middle notes. I don't get any cinnamon or insence as mentioned by others. Decent sillage, decent lasting power. Slight 80's vibe (part of the reason I don't wear it often), can actually be quite comforting when you're feeling a bit under the weather (think warm oversized sweatshirt with super soft inside & comfy pj bottoms), along the lines of Lalique Le parfum or Belle en Rykiel as far as the base scent.
If I ever run out of the bottle I probably won't run to replace it but I still enjoy it. Worth checking out if you like warm, ambery, sweet, earthy scents. If you hate the 80's vibe you may want to run. If you don't mind the 80's vibe in Cacharel LouLou or Coty Exclamation than you'll be able to handle Fire&Ice.
It's the worst scent I ever smelt. Very loud and yucky. Too much incense.
The opening and middle is sweet & fruity... A combo I happen to like a like, so it won immediate brownie points there :o)
There is a nuttiness under all that sweet, amber cream in the drydown. I wish I knew what it was. And I'm also surprised there isn't any vanilla in here.
As I let it evolve, I get this flashback, like I smelled it before. But I know I haven't. BAM! It comes to me... it's a close relative for VS Amber Romance. But WAY better!
This stuff smells expensive, too! Like a famous house created it under the guise of an inexpensive fume.
It's worth having in your collection if you love Orientals! And at the price... GO FOR IT!
I tested this today at Walgreen's due to major curiosity. I have read alot of good reviews of this perfume so I just was dying to see what it smelled like. I actually really liked it. There was something really spicy and clean about it. It was very unique and I like unique. It certainly was not your run of the mill fragrance that you have smelled a million times. I love it. In fact I recently bought a bottle and now I can't stop wearing it. The Amber in this is fantastic! This lasts and lasts and the longer you wear it the warmer it becomes...YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had received Fire & Ice around in 2005 in a gift set of 50ml and a miniture but had to give the bottles away which I still regret doing so. My mother is allergic to strong fragrances as it triggers asthma and when I tested it, she was around unfortunately and she instantly said that she couldn't stand it and so had to let go of its possession unwillingly.
The incense has been done beautifully in this one and it's one of my favourite note too. On the whole the composition is truly oriental to my taste. If I find it now, I will not let go of it and enjoy sniffing this beauty in my mum's absence.
It's a sillage monster for sure.
Incense is not usually my thing but here I simply love it. Love the perfume too. Very rich and oriental, definitely a scent that stands out for me.
The dry down is slightly reminiscent of Kenzo Amour Le Parfum - you can smell the insence in both. BUT: Fire & Ice has a lot more depth, warmth and creaminess, it is more complex, more balanced, and not as sickening sweet. So on the whole Fire & Ice is WAY better in my view.
Staying power is amazing and the sillage is exceptional. This is definitely not a light perfume, perfect for going out. My husband said it was very feminine. He has a poor sense of smell but could smell this perfume even though he wasn't up close, so that says something about the sillage.
predominately red hot cinnamon candies, with a liitle sweet white sugar thrown in. went on strong and stayed strong. a little was a lot. for me, i would wear this perfume when i wanted to stand out, like at a night club. i think this was a fun scent.
Juicy oranges, magnolias (and some other flowers I can’t single out), cinnamon, amber, and vanilla.
Super sexy, yummy, and oh-my-God heavenly...
I can’t believe the low price of this!
Definitely a gourmand fragrance. Try it at least once. You won't be disappointed.
I was walking through the halls in my office yesterday and caught a whiff of something really nice. It was spicy, and a little sweet but I couldn't decide if it was men's or women's. Whoever was wearing it had left a lovely trail behind them and I HAD to figure out who it was so I could find out what it was...
Eventually, I found the gal wearing it who said, "Oh, you mean my Fire & Ice? I can't even smell it..." Oh Lordy, this stuff could be dangerous in that case. It has tons of sillage, and I mean tons.
But it really does smell wonderful. A light oriental (if applied carefully)with orange, spices and vanilla. I went out and bought a little bottle right after work...for about $10! Amazingly cheap, but smells really nice and doesn't go plasticky in the dry-down.
Just be sure to apply with a light hand. I'm sure my co-worker was knocking everyone down around her.
I recently purchased Bijan Black and it honestly is almost an EXACT copy of this. So if you love Fire and Ice and can't find it. Seriously go and smell Bijan Black.
Bijan Black is also greatly price and VERY long lasting.
i really love this smell i could wear it all the time
Exceptional I really love it, is so wonderful, it lost for days on me. revlon is the best, and very good price
On my nose i can pick up Amber the base is Magnolia Flower and a wisp of incense
there are few notes missing on the list
i can also pick up Peach. in 30 minutes
or so it all dries down to Vanilla.
I whould Classify this as a Oriental
Vanilla then as a Floral the amber and
vanilla seems to dominate the other
floral notes in this perfume.
these are one of the early Fragrances i
had when i was a Child with Windsong
Sweet Honesty and Ex-cla-ma-tion!
this does bring back memories for me.
Smells good. Dries down like a balmy sunset. Am never without a bottle in my collection. Have had many compliments on this one. My ex loves it so much, he buys it for himself to sniff. Does not cost a fortune either.
God,I loved this, those were the days..Still remember if they sold it today.I'd for sure get me a bottle. So sweet enjoyed it.
Highly underrated--likely because it's so inexpensive. The neroli and magnolia notes are unbelievable, and the basenotes add great depth. It sings a siren song all day on my skin; I get stopped by many asking me what I'm wearing.
A rich, velvety, well-crafted floriental that deserves more respect.
OK heres another i dont concur with.Smells great on me and lasts a long time. One I always fall back to.
Wore this for years.when could not offord frag.well made oriental sweet .tangerine and ylang ylang.like in mackie for the ylang ylang.smells like vanilla on me.
I got a gift set of Fire and Ice given to me for christmas when I was 10 or 11. I was a bit of a tomboy back then, and I remember being secretly delighted because it was such a pretty bottle, and the name made me feel like I was a glamourous secret agent.
This is such a basic pretty scent, I love the vanilla and spices in it. It doesn't last too long, and my tastes have matured a little bit since then (I hope!) but Ill always have a soft spot for this one!
My boss said that when she smelled this, she instantly thought of me and said it would fit my personality. So of course, I HAD to try it! And my goodness, it's delicious! Vanilla, smoke, amber and cinnamon. So sexy and yet so wearable and fresh. Wear it lightly for the best effect (no more than two spritzes! One on the wrist, one on the back of the neck). Can't believe this isn't more popular considering the mass availability of it and the low price.
I really like this fragrance, it also sparks sentimental memories for me. My mother used to have this and I remember sneaking into her ensuite just to spray this on me before school.
I'd describe the scent as being a sweet yet spicy oriental. On the skin this fragrance is soft and rich with an added blend of vanilla, orange and spices. It's a bit like a really nice smelling incense stick.
The lasting power isn't all the great, so I purchased this perfume in a 10ml rollerball so I can chuck it in my bag and reapply throughout the day.
Fire & Ice is surprisingly one of my favourites in my collection, which goes to show that expensive fragrances aren't always the best. There will always be a place in my heart for this scent as it takes me back to the times when life was only just beginning and reminds me of my childhood home in the country.
The scent comes off very oriental on me - lots of spice, just a touch of flowers. It is a fairly nice inexpensive and I have received compliments while wearing it. This is a good one to try before you buy - as you can see from the preceding reviews, not everyone gets a good result from it.
Yikes...I can remember a day quite a long time ago, at the post office when a woman in front of me in line was wearing this...yikes. Cinnamon and Vanilla is what I get out of this perfume, and that OUGHT to be awesome...not so. It's so loud and sharp that it actually hurts my nose. What a disappointment. Never wear this in a post office! If you want a great cinnamon vanilla, try CSP Vanilla Cannelle...much nicer and dries down to light incense. :)
So light that you can barely smell anything other than alcohol! Once the alcohol evaporates it's still very light, and while I can tell it's a decent scent, it fades so quickly there's no reason to wear it! Now, perhaps I just got a bad bottle, but if they're all like this I would highly advise against getting this perfume.
