With respect, I thoroughly disagree with karlovonamesti's opinion about RC Musk (I normally agree with him about everything). I find the concoction to be an over-accomplished classic bearing an extremely rare olde-world regalness which is exceptionally hard to find in men's fragrances, nowadays. And I have actually verified what was suggested to me on another site by another fan of it, that mixing it with the original ROYAL COPENHAGEN creates an even more historical vibe and will let you stand out as a man of true distinction and individuality. Indeed, a layering of ROYAL COPENHAGEN and ROYAL COPENHAGEN Musk will leave a man smelling princely, but in a soft and reassuring way that is bound to instill immediate confidence in the women within nose-shot of him. This, however, has till now remained a well-kept secret and I am glad of it because the last thing any fragrance enthusiast should desire is to smell like the mainstream. And ironically, one can totally avoid that AND save loads of cash buying the two inexpensive ROYAL COPENHAGEN fragrances listed above. Call me an opportunist, but I have beaten the system completely and done it with amazing style.

I wore this in Prague while working as an English teacher, and I think in retrospect it was the only thing that could have gotten me fired. My only real "blind" buy, and a true regret - I used maybe .5 ounces before leaving it with a friend. This does not have a single genuine quality - it's total synthetic nonsense and smells awful. I think I was a cross between someone's grandmother and a cheap street hooker wearing this.

Both Royal Copenhagen and Royal Copenhagen Musk have a similar, very powdery, Lavender-Moss overtone. RC Musk is less powdery than regular RC. In the opening of RC Musk I get a fizzy note, like it's carbonated, that lasts for about 5 minutes after it dries. This effervescent-like fizz seems to tie right in with the underlying Musk in the base. The powdery accord affects every other note in the mix. The beautiful florals are powdery as well as the spices, but all the notes stay masculine. As it dries the powdery nuances change over to light soapiness.

It's a little more casual than regular RC, but still it could be worn with a shirt and tie. It has an elegance that is challenged by the Musk. Good sillage and longevity for a cologne. It's a 35 year old classic, and available at a great price. I always keep an 8 oz. splash bottle around.
