Fierce, sweet & savoury oriental enrobed in veils of smoke. If you are looking for the pervasive perfume of a Nargile lounge you have found it.

An almalgum of old-fashioned, rose-scented powder compacts, club smoke machines, pot pourri, old church pews & dust assaults my senses on first blast. My initial view of this scent is far from favourable - but wait, the magic is yet to begin!

Within minutes a curl of smoke snakes from my skin - I can almost feel the dry heat from the burning coals. It is intense, realistic & I love it.

Can you powder puff charcoal smoke? I believe Christopher Sheldrake has succeeded! FT settles into a more tame, smokey, balsamic scent of sweet tobacco, hay, candlewax with a touch of refined (not animalic) leather & warm skin. The sillage is inoffensive but the lasting power is good.

If you don't do somersaults for intense smokey scents - steer clear. I adore the scent of bonfire on my skin, love the smell of smouldering charcoal before the BBQ begins & the sweet, fragrant smoke from a Hookah pipe. This fragrance has my nose a-twitch.

In summation: truly a "'fume", an ode to the Nargile. A dense, dry, smokey scent with a touch of brown sugar sweetness & spice. Magic, daggers, smoke & mirrors - hooked.

I love it and do not find it masculine at all. It is less elegant than Cuir de Russie by Chanel, but you can easily wear it during a cold day. It is a conforting sweet leather scent with a hint of sweet tabacco and honey. The rubbery leather part only last 10 minutes. Then the scent turns into a warm oriental leather cloud that last for the entire day. It is a must try on skin only as it turned out quite different on 2 of my girl friends who tried it the same day: for one it dissappeared in an hour, for the other it kept turning into a sour berry direction.

Fumerie Turque starts with a blast of sweet, dry woody sweetness, which makes me think of old house with a lot of wood furniture which hasn’t been open for a while. Within seconds, the monotone clean woody smell is masked by a quite herbal medicine-like, kinda patchouli-infused, slightly tart liquorice candy smell.

Then it goes like liquorice plus a tiny bit hint of burnt rubber (like that from Blvgari Black) for a while.
The dry down is just a tamed, less edgy/pushy version of the above, without the liquorice or the rubber; it smells like an old wooden box which has been used to store potent, earthy essential oils.

Fumerie Turque gives me a déjà vu feel, seems there are several niches smell of this woody dry woods and earthy smell. Interesting experience to try it on, however I find it quite difficult to wear, especially for people in their early 20s, as well as for girly girls (actually I find Fumerie Turque is really masculine, much more masculine than quite a lot of the late releases of the commercial men's perfumes), somehow Fumerie Turque is just a tad too deep, dark and earthy, I would imagine a professor/grandpa figure wearing casual suits, possiblely with a leather briefcase, might smell like this in a cool, grey autumn morning.

Interesting experience nevertherless.

I agree with elusivek that it is definitely not a feminine. Would be much more attractive on a man. That being said,I personally would not find the smell attractive, couldn't pick up any honey, beeswax or fruity notes in this, just smoke, leather and a bit of patchouli. I lasted about an hour before having to wash it off, yet another failure in my personal perfume odyssey!

This is an interesting perfume. It says it is for women but it is decidedly masculine. I love unisex scents and don't know that I'd qualify it as even unisex.

It opens with incense, aldehyde, vanilla and beeswax. It continues on with a smokey note, leather, raw tobacco and berry (currant in this case).

I do not actively pick up on the jasmine or rose.

I used to work in a tobacco shop and this reminds me of the flavored tobacco kept in a leather pouch. Rich, aromatic, sweet, moist, berry flavored raw tobacco, with leather in the background.

It's interesting and authentic but I think better suited for men to wear or women who want to be reminded of their dad or gramp (or if you've ever worked in a smokeshop).
